Britney To Host Oscars Party

Despite her recent legal problems, Britney Spears has agreed to host a pre-Oscars bash in Beverley Hills next month.

The Toxic star made the headlines recently after a public standoff with police followed her refusal to hand over her two sons to the bodyguard of her ex-husband Kevin Federline.

The 26-year-old was then hospitalised under the influence of "an unidentified substance", according to local police.

However Spears has chosen to combat the suspension of her visitation rights to her children by agreeing to host Danish business Claus Hjelmbak's Scandinavian Style Mansion party on February 16th.

She last hosted the event in December 1st during which she clashed with one-time friend Paris Hilton.

"Britney has said 'yes,' to hosting it," Hjelmbak told People. "I am beyond excited because the experience she gave everyone in December was amazing. She absolutely made my event."

Hjelmbak accompanied Britney and friend Sam Lufti as they went on an early morning shopping excursion, with the troubled starlet bizarrely clad in ripped tights and a man's shirt."

I know people will say it's weird she was shopping at 2am, but [clothing shop] Kitson said you guys can always come when you want," the Dane explained. "I just called the owner and said can we come over and they said 'sure'."

Kevin Federline Presents A Super Bowl Special On U.S. Television

Britney Spears’s ex Kevin Federline is sure to impress the judge in their bitter child custody battle as he dresses up to the nines for his latest job.

K-Fed is the image of respectability puffing on a pipe and sporting a cravate while reading in a study. But it’s not a cunning new tactic in his struggle with the Toxic singer over their kids.

Federline has landed a job helping to introduce a collection of the Superbowl’s most memorable adverts in the countdown to the American Football showpiece next month.

Even Britney will have to admit the wannabe actor scrubs up well for the special “Superbowl’s Greatest Commercials” show.

And while she has taken to speaking in a fake English accent, it’s K-Fed who has the English country gent look off to a tee.

Don’t Get It Twisted

Okay, so let me get this straight. This week will hopefully be a start of many more positive weeks to come. The week started off with a bang, with Spears shocking everyone by showing up for her scheduled deposition for the ongoing custody battle.

Whilst most people were having a laid-back Sunday enjoying the federal holiday, “Martin Luther King Jr. Day” – Spears was out being deposed by K-Fed’s lawyer Mark Kaplan. The “gut-wrenching” deposition lasted well over 2 hours. An Emergency Court Hearing also took place this week, called by Spears’ legal team – however, no changes to the custody has taken place. Additionally, Spears current manager, Sam Lutfi was also deposed this week by Kaplan. Overall, Kaplan sure had a busy week – whilst the custody case is obviously finally progressing.

Britney’s legal run-ins didn’t end there – as her hit and run case also came up this week. Although, the hit and run charges were dismissed – she still faces a charge of driving without a license. She was offered a fine of $3000 if she pleaded guilty – however, her attorney, Michael Flanagan turned down the deal and will likely take the case to trial.

Spears personal life wasn’t the only thing in the spotlight this week; her music career was also having a good week. Her recently released single, “Piece of Me” is doing extremely well both on the charts and iTunes – whilst the video is soaring on TRL. Britney has also been seen rehearsing a dance routine religiously, for her new track, “Hot as Ice” from her latest album “Blackout”. This has sparked rumors that Spears is reportedly rehearsing for an upcoming performance or even a tour! All of this will be part of the promotion for the album’s re-release.

Saving the best for last, just yesterday Spears also remarkably won, "Best International Album" at the NRJ Music Awards in France. Britney proves yet again, that she still dominates the music scene – beating the likes of Mika, Amy Winehouse, James Blunt and Rihanna!

One thing’s for sure, Spears seems definitely on the right track on getting her life back.

Then again with Britney, anything can happen! – Only time will truly tell.

The British born shutterbug has been filming the ‘Gimme More’ star crying and babbling on about her recent breakdown - and is planning to sell the clips to the highest bidder.

The photog believes he’ll net over $2m by exposing troubled the fallen pop princess.

A source who claims to have seen four of the six recordings said: “It’s like something out of a horror movie. Britney spends the whole time ranting, raving and weeping. It’s not entertainment.

“Adnan is just determined to wring as much out of Britney as possible before their relationship burns out.

“But these videos are a step too far. They’re sinister and disturbing and show Britney at her very lowest.”

Clip one apparently shows the 26-year-old mother of two sitting on her bed wearing a nightie. She talks about herself in the third person and rambles about her childhood. She’s heard saying:
“When Britney was a child, she had to work really hard. When she was 13 years old, she won all the beauty pageants.”

The second clip shows the singer wrapped in a white bath towel, again perched on the edge of the bed. Talking to thin air, mumbling: “Britney has an angel looking out for her, don’t you, angel?”

And, according to Britain’s News of The World newspaper, clip 3 shows Britney talking to Adnan, who’s holding the camera, and calling him by his pet name Bubba.

She smiles: “I’m really happy. Bubba’s here for me now. It’s all good.”

Married Ghalib, 35, is still withholding clips 4 and 5, but clip 6, which was reportedly filmed last week, shows Britney crying hysterically after a night out.

With mascara running down her face, she wails: “Britney wants to live. I’m not crazy. I miss the kids and I did love Kevin.”

The source added: “Adnan’s sunk lower than ever. He’s proved himself to be a manipulative rat by making these tapes and he’s convinced they’re worth at least £1 million ($2m).”

Say what you will about Britney Spears, she's a valuable commodity as far as the nation's economy is concerned.

According to Portfolio magazine, the troubled pop princess puts anywhere from $110 million to $120 million in the pockets of others each year—and that's when she's not even touring.

Spears earns an estimated $737,000 a month, or about $9 million a year, and has already built up a fortune estimated at $125 million, according to recent court documents in her custody battle with Kevin Federline.

Impressive as those figures are, however, they amount to little in comparison to the money others are making off the singer.

Foremost, there's the direct Spears-related music and business ventures:

Since releasing her debut album in 1999, Spears has gone on to sell a staggering 83 million records, raking in more than $400 million for her label, Jive Records.

Her tours, too, are hot sellers, grossing close to $150 million to date. And Elizabeth Arden has sold close to $100 million of the Britney-based fragrances Curious, Believe and Fantasy.

In all, the Spears brand is bringing in an average annual take of $30 million to $40 million for her record label, promoters, licensers and others.

There's a reason the paparazzi are constantly on her tail.

Money shots of the "Oops" singer can generate anywhere from $250 for the average shot of a gas station run to $500,000 for, say, X17's exclusive shaved-head photos.

X17, which sold $2.5 million worth of Spears photos in 2007, estimated that shots of the singer represent 30 percent of its revenue, while rival agency Splash News pegged Spears' value at closer to 10 or 15 percent of its business.

In all, photo agencies score an annual take of around $4 million by keeping their cameras trained on Spears.

All of those photos are getting published somewhere—namely, celebrity tabloids.

From January 2006 to July 2007, Spears was featured on the covers of People, Us Weekly, In Touch, Life & Style, OK! and Star 175 times.

While that may seem like oversaturation, there's a good reason for it: A magazine with Spears' mug on the front sells about 33 percent more copies on the newsstand. Within the 78-week time period referenced above, newsstand sales of issues with her on the cover amounted to $360 million.

On the Internet, Spears has topped the annual Yahoo search rankings for six of the last seven years, briefly dropping to number two in 2004 when Paris Hilton had a short-lived stint at number one.

Searches for the singer were up 60 percent in 2007—the year she shaved her head, checked into rehab and committed numerous other interest-generating acts.

In all, Spears fodder amounts to an estimated $75 million in annual media revenue.
And then there's K-Fed...

An unknown backup dancer BB (before Britney), he now commands up to $30,000 for a simple nightclub appearance.

He also continues to draw $35,000 a month from the singer in spousal and child support payments.

In all, Federline's ex factor probably nets him an annual take of about $1 million.

"Gimme More" has suddenly taken on a whole new meaning.

According to them, Britney was there to pick up her attorney's kids, causing a commotion and 'freaked out' some kids. She then said 'I don’t have very many friends.’ to a female witness and left WITHOUT any kids.

What We Say: Hmmm. Considering the bunch of 50+ paparazzi following Britney everywhere she goes, who are so aggressive and DESPERATE for those photos that she can't even go to the toilet in peace, then please show us the pictures of her at the elementary school before you start coming up with such ABSURD stories.
