Janet Jackson On Britney

The following italicized article is taken from www.ok-magazine.com:

Another pop star who dished out kinky tunes is Britney Spears, a fellow singer who also grew up in the public eye, and Janet says she can sometimes relate to Brit's life, but doesn't understand the scrutiny surrounding it.

"I don't think it's fair for people to be so judgmental because we don't know what [young actors/musicians] feeling," she says. "You read what people want you to know or want you to think but to really know what's going on in her heart and soul and her mind; no one knows that unless they were to sit down and possibly, hopefully, speak to her. Then, maybe they'd be able to understand a glimpse of it."

Britney's Attorney Still with Her for Another Week?

The following italicized article is taken from www.people.com:

Britney Spears's divorce lawyer was in court Wednesday seeking permission to drop the troubled pop star as a client in her custody case with Kevin Federline.

Sorrell Trope and an attorney for Federline emerged from the closed-door session without comment. The matter was continued until next Tuesday.

Trope, of the law firm Trope and Trope, requested the substitution-of-attorney hearing before an L.A. court commissioner. In the past, he has cited communication problems with Spears.

Trope, who has vacillated for the past six weeks on whether he wants to leave the case, intended to ask to be relieved immediately, sources tell PEOPLE.

Among the possible replacements was Trope's predecessor, Laura Wasser, who resigned in September.

According to media reports, Wasser visited Spears when she was at the UCLA psych ward earlier this month, and Spears's parents want her back.

Hearings are scheduled over the next several weeks in the custody case. Currently Federline has full custody of Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, and Spears can only contact the boys by phone.

Britney's Lawyers Want Out — Again

The following italicized article is taken from www.ok-magazine.com:

As OK! reported last night, lawyers from the firm of Trope & Trope, who represent Britney Spears in her custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline, marched into court this morning to ask the court — again — to be removed from the case.

You might remember that Trope did the same thing in January, only to withdraw the motion later.

So it was a familiar scene outside the L.A. courthouse today as Brit's current legal eagles, along with K-Fed's attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan, entered to meet with the judge. However, after about 30 minutes of closed-door conferencing, all that could be revealed openly was that the matter had been pushed off until next Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 8:30am.

Insiders tell OK! that the judge doesn't want Trope ditching the case unless there's someone there to take up the case in their absence. It's been widely reported that Britney's family has been trying to woo her original attorney in the case, Laura Wasser, back. But OK!'s insider says that Wasser is wavering on whether or not to rejoin the case.

Meanwhile, court is in session again tomorrow, when the status of Jamie Spears' conservatorship over his daughter will be reviewed. He and a court-appointed co-conservator have had control over Brit's medical and financial matters since her Jan. 31 court-ordered hospitalization.

Commish to Brit's Lawyers: Protect or Serve

The following italicized article is taken from www.tmz.com:

Britney Spears' lawyers made it clear today in court: they want out. But it ain't that easy.

After meeting privately in chambers with Commissioner Scott Gordon, the matter was continued to Feb. 19. But here's what we know: the Commish wants to make sure when Trope and Trope says sayonara, someone has to be in place to handle the case. We're told the Commish wants Trope and Trope to come back with a plan and wants to know specifically who's coming in.

As we first reported, Britney secretly met with disso queen Laura Wasser, who represented her during the divorce, but quit Brit a few months back.

Spears' Supper Club

The following italicized article is taken from www.pagesix.com:

It has been one week since Britney Spears checked out of the UCLA psych ward, but more important, this is the fifth consecutive night the struggling pop star has spent indoors!

To reward Britney's week of good behavior, it seems that the pop tart was treated to a cozy supper party with her paparazzo boyfriend.

Last night, Adnan Ghalib (below) stopped by her Beverly Hills gated community, where a guard spoke to Britney directly before permitting him to enter. The dinner date may have turned into a sleepover — nobody saw Adnan leave.

The bigger news? We didn't see Britney leave. No late-night gas station stops, no car chases, no midnight shopping binges.

The calm night came after Brit spent the day shopping with mom Lynne and practicing her dance moves for an hour.

Britney's Crazy Caravan

The following italicized article is taken from www.tmz.com:

Want someone to blame for all the traffic in L.A.? How about Britney Spears?!

One paparazzi agency turned their camera on photogs yesterday, filming the line of Spearstrackers who followed her from Millennium Dance Studio to her home -- the pack rolling 10 vehicles deep.

At least some of them carpool.

This Warms Our Heart

Is Britney finally getting better????

All signs point to a YES!!!!

Spears, whom we hope is still receiving treatment for her mental illness, was spotted with her mother, Lynne, in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

The pair bonded over clothes, shopping at the Miss Sixty store on Melrose before heading over to the Millennium Dance Studios in the Valley.

And, Brit Brit and mom were accompanied by their new bodyguards.

All good things!

Treatment is essential, though. They can't ignore that.

Britney's Paparazzi Attention Inspires New Law Proposal

The following italicized article is taken from www.accesshollywood.com:

A new law is being proposed to protect Britney Spears and the public from the paparazzi.
"[It cost] $25,000 dollars to take an ambulance with Britney Spears to the hospital," Councilman Dennis Zine told Access Hollywood. "Tax payers paid for that."

The final straw for Zine was the mayhem surrounding Britney's first January ambulance trip when her entrance to the hospital was jeopardized by paparazzi.

It was her second trip that cost the county $25,000 for motorcycle, helicopter and patrol car escorts. So now, a new law is on the horizon — if Zine has anything to say about it.

"It is not going to be called the 'Britney Spears Law,' I am not going to give her credit for that because it is not about Britney Spears, it's about the paparazzi violating everybody else's rights, freedoms, and privileges," Zine explained.

It's about civilians that happen to encounter "Hurricane Britney" at any given moment on the roadway, as Zine described it.

"What the paparazzi have done is developed a lawless society where the rules don't apply — on the wrong side of the street, jumping out of cars at the red lights, swarming the car, you don't do that," Zine said.

Zine is proposing a "personal safety bubble" law to keep what he calls the "opportunists" away from celebrities and the general public on the streets.

"If we think back a few years, Princess Diana was driving down the road, paparazzi chasing," Zine recalls. "A crash occurred, Princess Diana died. I don't want to see that happen here in Los Angeles."

A year after Diana's death and then again in 2005, civil laws were passed in Los Angeles to deter aggressive paparazzi, but no criminal law is yet in place.

"I don't think it wold change things that much," X-17 Vice President Brandy Navarre told Access. "I mean, the photographers would just stand back a little more."

The photo agency X-17 says that as long as the demand exists, the supply will continue, regardless of a new law.

"Certainly there is the concern that it could trample on first amendment rights," Navarre said.

Zine refutes such claims.

"We are not prohibiting anyone from taking a picture but the matter in which they are getting those pictures," he said.

Adnan at the Gates -- Gets In!

The following italicized article is taken from www.tmz.com:

Britney Spears' paparazzo boyfriend, Adnan Ghalib, must have gotten on papa Jamie Spears' good side -- he somehow managed to get past the gates at Brit's Summit house.

After a shopping trip with mom and a rigorous dance workout at Millennium Dance Complex in North Hollywood yesterday, Brit retreated to her home in the hills, where Adnan breezed past guards at the gate around 8:00 PM.

Britney Spears "Welled Up With Tears" Teaching Dance Class to Kids

The following italicized article is taken from www.usmagazine.com:

Britney Spears returned to her role as teacher yesterday afternoon, leading a dance lesson at North Hollywood's Millennium Dance Complex.

Usmagazine.com caught up with local resident Grace Mitjans and her daughter Gigi, who attended both classes. They praised the pop singer's teaching skills.

"I got a call at 5 p.m. [Monday] saying that Britney was teaching a dancing class at 6 p.m. and that Gigi should come," mom Grace told Us yesterday afternoon after Spears' second class.

"So we rush down here and when we arrived, we were ushered to the back. There were photographers on the balconies — it was crazy!"

When they arrived, they immediately spotted Spears, who was "dressed in tiny black shorts with a pink top and black boots," said mom Grace.

Added daughter Gigi, "[Britney] came up and gave me a big hug. She hugged me three times last night! She was so nice. I brought her a chocolate Valentine rose. She said thank you and put it in her bag."

Daughter Gigi said they danced to Madonna's "Material Girl."

"Britney was very into it and personally made sure every kid was having a great time," mom Grace said.

As the students left the room, Spears "told us that she appreciates us coming and she hopes we come again," mom Grace said.

Added daughter Gigi: "She hugged me again. When I got home, I cried in bed because I was so happy."

They returned Tuesday for a second session.

"We showed up, and she was wearing Cheetah shorts and looked so healthy and beautiful," the student's mother, Grace, told Us. "Her butt was hanging out."

Despite the fashion slip-up, daughter Gigi said Spears was still in control.

"We danced, and she hugged me again. I gave her my phone number on a Valentine card and she said thank you," Gigi said.

Spears, mom Grace said, "welled up with tears and said that she really appreciated it."

When asked if she thought Spears is "a good mommy," daughter Gigi emphatically told Us, "Yes!"

Mom Grace told Us she wasn't uneasy leaving her daughter under Spears' guidance.

"I have never seen my daughter so happy!" mom Grace told Us. "She is learning some dance moves too that she was doing all last night.

"She was so excited to show them to Britney today and told her that she practiced for her. Britney said, 'Awwww!'"

Spears, added mom Grace, "is young and made some mistakes. It is obvious that she loves kids very much and that she is great with children. I will bring my daughter to every one of her classes."

Spears plans to teach another class on Thursday.

Britney Spears Shops With Mom

The following italicized article is taken from www.usmagazine.com:

Britney and Lynne Spears are undergoing therapy together — retail therapy, that is.

Before they went to North Hollywood’s Millennium Dance Studio — where Britney taught a children’s dance class — Tuesday, the pair hit a Miss Sixty shop in Los Angeles, where Spears relied on her mom for fashion advice.

“Britney was in a great mood, trying things on her mom picked out,” an eyewitness told Usmagazine.com.

“At one point, Britney peered out of her dressing room and asked, ‘Where’s my mom?’” the onlooker added. “Lynne then came over and looked at what Britney had tried on.”

Another witness said mother and daughter went back and forth on a sheer top. (Lynne said it was “way too see through.”)

In the end, “Britney bought a few tops and a pair of jeans,” the first witness said. “She walked out of the store wearing her new jeans and a top.”

Britney Teaching Again!

The following italicized article is taken from www.ok-magazine.com:

OK! has learned that Britney Spears will head back to Millennium Dance Complex this afternoon to teach another group of children to dance.

The 26 year old pop star reportedly enjoyed her class so much on Monday that she couldn't wait to do it again. Eyewitnesses tell OK! that Britney's class will start this afternoon at 4 p.m. PT. We'll be there to give you all the details as they unfold!

UPDATE: Class started right at 4 p.m. An eyewitness says Britney is in the largest studio inside the complex with 12 kids. She is wearing red suede boots, fishnet stockings and a white t-shirt. She started the class with a warm up to Janet Jackson.

At 4:4o p.m. the class ended. An eyewitness says Lynn Spears arrived shortly afterwards and was ushered into the dance studio where Britney had taught the class. OK! has learned that the class was originally scheduled for tonight at 6 p.m. but at the last minute, Brit changed her mind and moved the time up to 4 p.m.

The future's so bright...they've gotta wear shades?

Britney and Lynne Spears stayed incognito while shopping at the Miss Sixty store in West Hollywood today. The matchy mom and daughter duo were looking for new jeans — we can only guess because the cuts they sported above weren't quite similar enough.

When Will Britney See Her Boys Again?

The following italicized article is taken from www.ok-magazine.com:

In the weeks following Britney Spears' first trip to the hospital in early January, it seemed unlikely to many that the pop star would get back any of the visitations privileges she'd lost after the four-hour standoff with the authorities.

However, sources inside Brit's ongoing battle with ex-hubby Kevin Federline are now telling OK! that, in light of being on her best behavior in the last week, K-Fed is warming to the idea of easing up on the Britney ban for their two sons, Sean Preston, 2, and one-year-old Jayden James.

"Kevin's never wanted Britney out of the boys' lives," the insider explains to OK!. "He just felt that she needed to get her sh** together first. If she can prove she's not a danger to the boys, I don't see why he would keep her away any longer."

And with Brit appearing to be focusing again on her career and on mending fences with her estranged parents, all sides are hopeful the pop star isn't just playing nice until a court dissolves her father's conseratorship over her financial and personal matters.

Speaking of which, the matter of whether Jamie Spears should continue as conservator will be discussed in court on Thursday. The result of that hearing will probably have a strong influence on whether or not K-Fed will continue fighting Brit's visitation privileges.

Meanwhile, another source tells OK! that it's possible that Trope & Trope, Britney's attorneys in the custody war, will be heading to court early Wednesday morning to ask once again to be removed from the case. If that happens, OK! will be there to bring you the news as it happens.

Britney Gets in Retail Therapy with Mom

The following italicized article is taken from www.people.com:

Britney Spears appears to be bonding with her mother – by shopping.

Spears and mom Lynne spent a half-hour at the Miss Sixty store in Los Angeles, where the pop star spent $650 on J Rocker Jeans, a white Carmen T-shirt, a Tirsa blue dress and a Maybelle stretch tee.

Spears, who once had been estranged from her mother – with an uneasy peace during Britney's psychiatric care – even asked her for shopping advice, according to an observer.

"Her mom helped her get the right size jeans that she ended up buying," an eyewitness says. "Britney also held up the blue dress in front of her and showed her mom before she decided to by it."

Daughter and mother then traveled to the Millennium Dance Complex, where Spears taught a dance class for youngsters the day before.

Shopping Is the Best Medicine for Brit

Lynne and Britney Spears did a little mother/daughter bonding this afternoon on Melrose Ave. -- and it didn't involve lawyers, doctors, or restraining orders!

The pair got their shop on at Miss 5150 Sixty in Los Angeles. Considering all of Brit's finances are controlled by the conservators these days, do you think mama footed the bill?
