Make "Womanizer" Video #1 On TRL

The "Womanizer" music video premiered on TRL this afternoon. I made the conscious decision not to post a heads up for fans to tune in cause I'm kind of over TRL. Despite my unexplainable bitterness towards TRL, I tuned in anyway to catch "Womanizer," and it brought me back to my teeny-bop days in the late 90s when my walls were covered with lame bands and superheroes. Shutup, I was ten years old a decade ago - it's acceptable. Alriiiiiight you caught me; I still have a superhero poster hanging up.

After a few BreatheHeavy readers' suggestions and a Venti iced mocha frappuccino from Starbucks, I decided to move forward and spread the word that Britney's newest music video is on the TRL countdown. I couldn't sit through the whole show to see who was #1, but I know it wasn't Britney. The imaginary lightbulb on my head just lit up, I wish you could see...

Britney really only knows one number: number one. Let's get Britney's "Womanizer" in the top spot at least once before the show ends. In fact, let's do our best to get it to #1 on TRL's last day of taping in mid-November.

According to TRL's executive producer Dave Sirulnick, the last episode of TRL will be a 2 hour special with lots of suprises and special appearances: "We want to close this era of 'TRL' in a big celebratory way, and 10 is a great number. And 10 is the number that 'TRL' counted down every single day for 10 years, and we hit this 10th (anniversary) and we thought, 'You know what? This feels like the right time and let's celebrate it and let's reward it. And let's let it have a little bit of a rest for a minute.' Let it catch its breath! Been working hard - for 10 years!"

What better way for TRL to close by having its biggest star round out the last top 10. Or better yet, for Britney to appear?

Britney Spears Gets Mistrial, Goes Dancing

The following italicized article is from www.celebrity-gossip.net:

Sporting a “The One I Love” t-shirt with jeans, Britney Spears was spotted making her way over to a dance studio in Hollywood on Tuesday (October 21).

The sighting comes just after a mistrial was declared in the “Gimme More” singer’s misdemeanor case for driving without a California license, as the jury was deadlocked 10-2 in favor of the singer’s innocence, reports tell.

“The jury is hopelessly deadlocked, and I declare this a mistrial,” Judge James A. Steele told the courtroom attendees.

Gloating in his successful representation, Brit’s lawyer, Michael Flanagan, told press, “Today’s outcome shows my client did nothing wrong. I consider this a victory. Britney was vindicated in that she took on a system that attempted to make an example of her celebrity.”

Judge Declares Mistrial In Britney Spears Driver’s License Case

The following italicized article is from www.accesshollywood.com:

A Los Angeles court judge declared a mistrial in the Britney Spears driver’s license case Tuesday after jurors were unable to come to a unanimous decision, following nearly two days of deliberations.

“This is a victory for Ms. Spears,” the pop star’s lawyer, Michael Flanagan, told Access Hollywood shortly after the mistrial was called.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Spears’ trial on the charge of driving without a valid license, began last Wednesday at a San Fernando Valley, California courthouse. Jurors began their deliberations after receiving the case on Friday afternoon.

The case stems from an incident in August 2007, when Spears hit a parked car, while parking her Mercedes-Benz. She left — without leaving a note.

The owner of the other vehicle later filed a police report and Spears was charged a month later with misdemeanor hit-and-run and driving without a valid California license. The hit-and-run charges were dismissed in October 2007 after Spears paid an undisclosed sum to the owner.

Testimony lasted for about a day in Spears’ trial, though the pop star was not required to and did not appear at the courthouse during the case.

Twelve jurors began deliberating on Friday afternoon, but were sent home for the weekend by the judge after failing to reach a verdict in just over two hours. They deliberated again on Monday, and reportedly were deadlocked 10-2. It was not immediately clear which way the jurors voted.

Prosecutors had argued Spears was required to obtain a valid California driver’s license. Her attorney, however, argued that the pop star had a license at the time of the incident, from where her primary residence was – Louisiana. She has since obtained a California license.

Spears’ attorney, Michael Flanagan, had previously rejected a plea deal, which would have resulted in a $150 fine and 12 months probation for the singer.

Mistrial Declared in Britney Spears Case

The following italicized article is from www.people.com:

A mistrial was declared Tuesday in Britney Spears's misdemeanor trial for driving without a license. The jury was deadlocked 10-2 in favor of the singer's innocence, the foreman said in open court.

"The jury is hopelessly deadlocked, and I declare this a mistrial," stated Judge James A. Steele.

The jury had deliberated for three days in the trial, which involved only one day of witness testimony.

Spears, 26, had been accused of driving without a California license, stemming from an August 2007 fender-bender.

The singer's father, Jamie Spears, testified his daughter had a Louisiana license on the day in question, and that she considers Louisiana her permanent residence and plans to return.

"Today's outcome shows my client did nothing wrong. I consider this a victory," said Britney's attorney, Michael Flanagan. "Britney was vindicated in that she took on a system that attempted to make an example of her celebrity."

Prosecutor Michael Amerian had no comment for the time being, pending a 1:30 p.m. hearing Tuesday, at which Judge Steele could possibly dismiss the case. If not, the prosecutor could announce his intent to retry Spears – an unlikely move, given the jury's votes.

Celebrity Proved an Asset

Said jury foreman Gary Moy, 45, a communications analyst (and one of two jurors who voted guilty): "We felt deadlocked from the beginning, there were lots of questions about lack of evidence, whether Spears had a Louisiana license or not, what the definition of residency was. We felt we were never given all the facts in the case."

He added, "Some jurors felt their time was wasted."

Moy also noted that he believed Spears's celebrity worked in her favor, saying that people have a "natural propensity to identify with celebrities, and I feel some of the jurors inserted their personal feelings" into their decision-making.

Britney Spears Picks Up Sean Preston From School

Over the past couple of weekends, we’ve seen photos of Britney Spears making a concerted effort to break-away from work commitments in order to take the time to pick up her children Sean Preston and Jayden James from preschool. We have usually witnessed this occurrence take place on Friday afternoons, heading into the weekend. But yesterday, Britney was on hand to pick up her oldest son, SP, from preschool … clearly showing a renewed commitment to taking care of her children — a right that was almost entirely taken away from her when she wasn’t doing so well. Here are cute pics of Brit at Sean P’s school yesterday afternoon:
Even tho it was very sad at the time, I could absolutely understand the court’s decision to strip away some of Britney’s custodial rights to her children because, let’s face it, she was at times unable to even care for herself. While I know it prolly killed her inside (as it would any mother), I think losing full physical custody of her children went a long way into helping her focus on her own recovery. Britney had been getting much better since she was forcibly admitted into the hospital at the start of this year but it wasn’t until custodial rights were taken from her that I noticed a serious concentration on her part to truly get better. I contend that she was really focused on a full recovery mainly to win back custody of her sons. Britney Spears will still draw scorn and attack from naysayers (no matter what she does) but, again, I think it’s worth noting how much better she appears to be doing. It remains to be seen if she will eventually win back full custody rights from Kevin Federline (my guess is she won’t rest until she does) but it seems clear to me that she is on the right path to proving she is worthy of taking care of her children again. For me, that will be the true measure of a successful comeback.

Britney Spears -- Mistrial!

The following italicized article is from www.tmz.com:

The trial of the century is finally ovah!

The jury could not reach a verdict and the judge declared the whole thing a mistrial. The jury vote came back 10 not guilty, two guilty. That wasn't a waste of time at all.

Britney was popped for driving without a license last year -- and for reasons that defy explanation, it made it all the way to trial.

Jurors spent yesterday deadlocked 10-2 but were ordered to continue deliberating. She faced a maximum of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine if convicted of the misdemeanor.

Spears was a no-show the entire trial.

Prosecutors could ask for another trial. That would be a good use of taxpayer's money.

Britney To Perform Live On GMA at December 2nd

Britney Spears will perform live in Bryant Park on ABC's Good Morning America on December 2, to promote her sixth studio album Circus, which drops that day.

"Everybody wanted her - she was the big get - but 'GMA' and ABC outfoxed the 'Today' and NBC," sources tell Pagesix.

Britney has yet to decide if she'll do an interview.

The performance on December 2, which is also Britney's 27th birthday, would be her first live performance, not involving lip synching, since the break down of her marriage in 2006.

Britney's last live performance at MTV VMAs in 2007 was a disaster as she appeared to sleepwalk on stage failing to even lip synch correctly.

Britney Spears is scheduled to perform Womanizer, the first to be released single from Circus, in UK in December on X-Factor.

A 90- minute film produced by MTV and tentatively titled For the Record, documenting Britney Spears return to show biz with the upcoming release of her sixth studio album Circus will air on November 30 at 10 p.m. on MTV.
