Millions at home watched from behind their sofas.

But this year the joke is on Russell. He took a real shine to her as they filmed the five-minute interview to promote next month’s star-studded bash.

He flirted with her on and off camera.

But Britney was more than a match for the quick-witted Bizarre Shagger Of The Year. A source said: “Russell is being his usual cocky self in the video, playing the sexuality card with Britney.

“He is flirting with her and tells her he can feel a powerful sexual tension between them.

“But Britney has the measure of him, saying she doesn’t feel any tension – before referring to him as Russell Brown. She really puts him in his place.

“She looks back to her best in the video and seems to have put all her troubles behind her.”

I said last month Britney was taking her first steps on a full-scale comeback – and this video is another huge leap.

She also has nine new songs completed for an album which is pencilled in for release early next year.
