Lynne Spears: "I Still Like K-Fed"

The following italicized article is from www.ok-magazine.com:

In a new TV interview, Britney Spears' mother admits that, even after the nasty divorce and even nastier custody battle, she still has a soft spot for former son-in-law Kevin Federline.

"I do like Kevin," Lynne Spears says in an interview set to air Thursday on The Morning Show with Mike And Juliet. "He's been good to us."

Although Lynne admits that she "had reservations" about K Fed when he first got together with her daughter, she and Brit's dad, Jamie Spears, now feel grateful to him.

"He's included Jamie and I," she explains. "He could have been a real pill about a lot of things, but he wasn't... He worked with us, and I think he's tried to make things good for the boys."

Lynne, who has just written the memoir Through the Storm about raising a family in the spotlight, says that she prays that the negative headlines — drugs, surprise pregnancies, bitter divorces — are finally behind Britney and her little sister, Jamie Lynn Spears.

"I just really hope they find their purpose in life and that it's really going to fulfill them to their full potential," she told Mike and Juliet.

When co-host Mike Jerrick asks Lynne if, given the chance to do it all over again, she'd have chosen a different path, she says, "You know what? I don't know. There were certain things that I would do again, of course... But I would always hope that my children would fulfill their dreams. And these were my children's dreams."

See the complete interview on The Morning Show With Mike and Juliet tomorrow. Check listings for local times.

Brit Goes Near Car - Bad Things Happen

The following italicized article is from www.tmz.com:

Britney Spears was in a car accident today, but if prosecutors are listening, don't even think about it.

Britney was in the back seat of her Cadillac Escalade, shopping in West Hollywood, when a paparazzi's vehicle lurched forward, striking Brit's vehicle in the rear -- at least that's Brit's version. Photogs are saying her car backed up and hit the papper. Sources say Britney's peeps are filing a police report this afternoon.

The Escalade took a pretty big dent. As far as we know, no one was hurt. Britney went shopping afterward ... at Wasteland on Melrose. Perfect.

Britney Spears: Another Fender Bender

The following italicized article is from www.celebrity-gossip.net:

What timing! Just after it was announced by Britney Spears’ attorney that she has rejected a final deal from prosecutors for driving without a license - she gets involved in an accident.

Fortunately enough, the “Gimme More” singer wasn’t behind the wheel - as she was being driven by her bodyguard, who ran into a paparazzo’s car as the pop princess headed to shop for new shades at a store called Wasteland in West Hollywood earlier today (October 8).

As previously reported by Gossip Girls, Ms Spears was offered the option of paying $150 and spending one year on probation for her misdemeanor DWOL charge, which would have helped her to avoid going to trial for the case.

The 26-year-old Spears’ attorney, J. Michael Flanagan, claimed that the “Womanizer” singer, who corrected the violation and obtained a valid California driver’s license, should only be charged a small $10 fine. Flanagan has also guaranteed to appeal any convictions that may result. The trial will begin on October 15th.

“Circus” To Be Released As A CD/DVD Package

A double disc version of Britney’s new album “Circus”, including a DVD, has been added to Australian shopping website EZY DVD.

This was announced a while ago on SonyBMG’s internal website but I thought I’d refrain from posting it until it was oficially announced.

You can pre-order the Australian version here.

Britney Rejects Plea, Heading to Trial

The following italicized article is from www.eonline.com:

Plea? Puh-leeze.

The attorney in Britney Spears' forever-pending driving-without-a-license case has rejected a final deal from prosecutors.

The seemingly no-brainer offer would have had Spears pay a measly $150 and spend a year on probation in exchange for copping to the misdemeanor charge and avoiding an embarrassing trial in the case.

But the "Womanizer" singer's attorner, J. Michael Flanagan is sticking to his guns that the 26-year-old comeback queen, who long ago corrected the violation and obtained a valid California driver's license, should face nothing more than a $10 fine for her infraction.

That means the trial is on for Oct. 15.

Unsurprisingly, Flanagan has also vowed to appeal any conviction that may result.

The charge stems from an incident that took place at the height of Spears' crazy days in August 2007. She dinged a parked car and left the scene. The subsequent hit-and-run count was dismissed a year ago, but the lesser charge of not having a California license (she did have a valid Louisiana license).

Flanagan has been pulling out all the stops—short of accepting a plea deal, that is—to prevent the case going to trial, asking last month for the trial to be put on hold as Spears, still in a conservatorship, was "unable to participate meaningfully" in the proceedings.

Just yesterday, a three judge panel of the Los Angeles Superior Court unanimously denied his request.

Britney Spears Set to Stand Trial in Driving Without a License Case

The following italicized article is from www.usmagazine.com:

Britney Spears' lawyer shot down a plea deal that would have placed the singer, 26, on a year's probation and forced her to pay a $150 fine in her ongoing misdemeanor driver's license case, the Associated Press reports.

Attorney J. Michael Flanagan says Spears was open to an offer that would have reduced the charge to an infraction and required her to pay a $10 fine.

Her case is now set to go before a jury on Oct. 15. Flanagan plans to appeal any conviction.

In 2007, Spears was charged with misdemeanor driving without a valid California license and hit-and-run following a fender-bender in a store parking lot.

Flanagan tells the AP that Spears is being unfairly targeted because she is a celebrity.

Britney Says NO! To Plea Offer

The following italicized article is from www.x17online.com:

Looks like Brit's going to trial y'all.

Prosecutors going after Brit for driving without a valid California driver's license made a last minute plea offer to end the case before the trial that is set to begin next week. They wanted brit to pay a $150 fine, and receive a year of probation.

But Britney's lawyer, J. Michael Flanagan rejected the deal. "I will not plead her to any criminal offense," he told X17online. Flanagan also said he believes Brit is being treated differently by the court because of her celebrity status. "If it were anyone else, they'd show the court that he or she now has a valid license and that would be the end of it," Flanagan said

Britney to Prosecutor: I Ain't No Krimin'l, Y'all

The following italicized article is from www.tmz.com:

The biggest case since Manson was tried was played out today in an L.A. County criminal court.

Britney Spears, about to go on trial for the heinous crime of driving without a valid California license, was offered a deal to make the case go away -- a $150 fine, and 12 months probation.

Britney's lawyer, Michael Flanagan, told TMZ....no way Jose. He's not going to cop a plea to a criminal offense.

Britney Spears, ‘Womanizer’ Is #1 On iTunes

Woot! After one day of availability on iTunes, Britney Spears’s new single Womanizer has already rocketed to the #1 position on the Top Songs chart. While Brit Brit’s legion of fans did their part to download the track yesterday, it’s clear that many folks had a hand in helping make Womanizer the top downloaded track in iTunes right now — holla! Here is a pic of Britney making her way into the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood, CA yesterday afternoon:
I understand that Britters, in addition to lunching at the Chateau, spent part of Womanizer Download Day gettin’ her hair did at her favorite hair salon. You may recall that last year Britney’s song Gimme More also made its way to the #1 position on the iTunes Top Songs chart but it took her a little bit longer to reach the top then. Womanizer was #2 for much of the day yesterday but by early today, it surpassed T.I.’s song Life Your Life to take the top position. Well done! So far, Britney’s comeback is right on schedule … next up, the music video. Don’t forget, the Womanizer music video will be debuting on ABC’s 20/20 this Friday night. I expect that it will be available for download on iTunes shortly thereafter. Will Britney reach the #1 position on the Top Music Videos chart? I guess we’ll have to wait and see ;)

This Week's Tabloid Mess

Britney is featured on this week's In Touch Weekly. Who cares about the headline claiming Britney feels betrayed that Kevin got back together with ex Shar Jackson. She looks hot in that picture! Seriously, the words "Britney," "Kevin," "Shar," and "jealous" never belong in a sentence together. Moving on...
Brit also graces the cover of Life & Style - which details her new "reality tv show." Hence the New York City trip and go-karting.

Britney To Give Interview In The UK

I got to work this morning to find an email from Britney Spears in my inbox. OK, that's stretching the truth slightly. It was an email from her record label informing me that she's going to be in the country in a few weeks time and asking if I would like to interview her.

Well, what would you have said? Is a bear Catholic? Does the Pope defecate in the woods?

Anyway, that's a way off yet. More imminent is her comeback single Womanizer. (I hate that American spelling but it's a song title so I don't really feel able to correct it. But I digress, as Ronnie Corbett might say.)

Britney Spears: 'Womanizer'

The following italicized article is from www.digitalspy.co.uk:

She's gone from bleary and bloated to glossy and foxy, made a triumphant return to the VMAs and lined up a mouth-watering live appearance on The X Factor. All Britney needs to pull off the comeback of the year - nay, decade - is a killer single. Thankfully, 'Womanizer' is more than up to the task.

Sounding like a great lost track from last year's Blackout album, this robo-pop stomper is sexy, as unshakable as a guilty secret and packed with sass. "You got the swagger of a champion," she tells the titular philanderer. "Too bad for you, you just can't find the right companion." Is it good enough for number one? Definitely - and you'd need a heart of stone to wish against it.
