Britney Under Dad's Thumb Until Summer

The following italicized article is from www.eonline.com:

It's looking as if Britney Spears' summer vacation is going to be another family affair.

Jamie Spears' coconservatorship over his daughter's estimated $100 million estate has been extended until July 31, Los Angeles Superior Court spokesman Alan Parachini said Wednesday.

No other details were given, but the temporary power Britney's dad has had over her affairs was scheduled to expire on Monday, and it's well-documented that Jamie and his attorneys have been adamant about stopping efforts made on Britney's behalf to wrest control away from the conservators, including a recent move apparently orchestrated by Sam Lutfi to transfer the case to federal court.

Jamie and attorney Andrew Wallet were named coconservators of Britney's finances and Jamie was put in charge of her welfare on Feb. 1, the day after the Blackout artist was admitted to UCLA Medical Center's psych ward for evaluation, her second hospitalization that month.

Brit's Dad Stays the Boss

The following italicized article is from www.pagesix.com:

Britney Spears' dad Jamie will be in charge of her affairs through the summer.

Court Public Information Officer Allen Parachini confirms to PageSix.com that lawyers for Jamie Spears filed an unexpected ex-parte motion in the matter today today, and Commissioner Goetz extended the conservatorship through July 31, 2008.

Parachini also tells us that the original hearing on the case, scheduled for Monday March 10th, is still on the calendar and will take place. Also on the horizon for Brit: a custody hearing (on Monday as well), and a hearing on the temporary restraining order against Sam Lutfi (on March 17).

In addition to extending his conservatorship, PageSix.com has learned that America's busiest dad, Jamie, attended the deposition of Michael Sands today in connection to the custody case. Sands, a former spokesperson for Kevin Federline's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, currently speaks for Sam Lutfi and Jon Eardley, the attorney who failed in an attempt to get all of Brit's cases moved to federal court.

Brit's Conservatorship Extended Through the Summer

The following italicized article is from www.ok-magazine.com:

On Wednesday, a court commissioner ruled to keep Jamie Spears on as conservator over the personal and business affars of his daughter, Britney Spears, through July 31.

TMZ is reporting the order is effectively a seal of approval for Poppa Spears, who has been co-conservator since Brit's latest breakdown.

Sources also say the conservators are open to ending the conservatorship earlier than July 31, if Britney's mental state sufficiently improves and stabilizes.

Under the conservatorship, Britney appears to be recovering significantly. She teaches regular dance classes to children at Millennium Dance Complex, has abandoned her wild and erratic night life and has won back visitation rights with her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

Today's news is probably not going over well with Britney's former confidante, Sam Lutfi, who after being served with a restraining order two weeks ago by the conservators, has vowed publically to "fight to the end" to overturn the order and regain his friendship with the pop singer.

With all of the positive energy surrounding Britney right now, it's hard not to think that Sam's absence might be a good thing after all.

And, by the looks of things, the court seems to agree.

Judge: Britney's Dad in Control for Four More Months

The following italicized article is from www.people.com:

Jamie Spears will remain in control of his daughter Britney Spears's finances and other aspects of the pop star's life until July 31, a judge ruled Wednesday in an unscheduled hearing.

No reporters were present for the proceeedings, although two sources confirm to PEOPLE that Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz extended the temporary conservatorship that had been ordered on Feb. 4, during Spears's second stint in a psychiatric facility.

"I can confirm that the order was issued this afternoon, but I don't know the attorneys' motives," Superior Court spokesman Allan Parachini tells PEOPLE.

The temporary conservatorship had been scheduled to expire March 10. Hearings are still scheduled before Goetz on that date and on March 17, sources say.

Jamie Spears has been overseeing his 26-year-old daughter's well-being and her estimated $100 million fortune since Feb. 1, when Goetz named him and Andrew Wallet temporary co-conservators, giving them the right to employ bodyguards and restrict her visitors.

A source close to Britney says she's okay with her dad being in control. On Feb. 23, she was allowed to spend time with her sons Preston, 2, and Jayden, 17 months, for the first time since her Jan. 3 standoff with the police, and she has had regular visits since. "She is getting along well with her father and enjoying the closeness and support of her family," says a source.

The following italicized article is from www.tmz.com:

Britney And Her Fans - A Complicated Relationship

For the past weeks I have been hearing multiple 'fans' saying: Britney is fat, Britney is pregnant, Britney is ugly, Britney needs blonde hair etc.....

And you can block out the first 'fan' saying it, and the 2nd but at the 3rd one you start to wonder: Is this normal? Are these people allowed to call themself fans?

In my opinion I say: NO. Being a fan is like a marriage. You choose to be a fan of one person and with that you except the good but you also need to except those bad things. You need to be there for them and support them when they're down. You can't just stop being a fan when the person is going threw a rought pattern for a while.

Would you be happy is you were down, hospitalized, lost custody of your children and on top of that having a 'fan' calling you fat?

Fans do not kick you down, fans do not want you to get an eating disorder or whatever. In the end Britney is the boss of her own life. The Britney from 2002 does no longer exist. A person grows, gets mature and experiences things in his life. No one can stay the same they were, no one.

And on a final note: Who are we to judge? We arent perfect! We're also humans, and we make mistakes too and so does Britney. So why don't you judge yourself first and then Britney.

Brit Hangs With the Kids -- Just Not Hers

The following italicized article is from www.tmz.com:

Britney Spears is barely able to see her own offspring, but that hasn't stopped the popwreck from teaching dance to several young tots.

Britney featured in Vanity Fair - Sort of

Vanity Fair: "The new Vanity Fair pays tribute to our favorite ladies of comedy by tarting them up for photos depicting them as the tabloid-fodder stars who unwittingly provide their comedic gold.

Celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz snapped the off-the-wall shots of big names such as Tina Fey and Amy Poehler for VF's cover story on their trade.

This inside shot features Sandra Bernhard (apparently lampooning Jessica Simpson), Chelsea Handler (Britney Spears), Jenna Fischer (Lindsay Lohan), Sarah Silverman (Amy Winehouse) and Wanda Sykes (Naomi Campbell/Lil Kim). Other funny ladies shot for the spread include Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Leslie Mann, Susie Essman and Amy Sedaris.

Hollywood has come a long way since Lucille Ball broke the gender line for female comics.

"There is no question that there are a million more funny women than there used to be," director Nora Ephron tells the mag."

Troubled star BRITNEY SPEARS is doing her bit for charity by selling off a photo of herself and a group of 10 young children she has been teaching at the North Hollywood Millennium Dance Complex. Jamie Spears: So What's the Deal With K-Fed?

The following italicized article is from www.tmz.com:

Is this going to piss off Kevin Federline? TMZ is at the law office of Stacy Phillips waiting for Michael Sands' deposition.

Stacy wants Sands to spill the beans on what went down while he was the PR flack for Mark Vincent Kaplan, K-Daddy's lawyer.

Jamie is the co-conservator for Brit, which may explain his presence. The real question -- Sands has split from Kaplan after an ugly break-up and the PR guy is pissed. He's about to arrive.

Stay tuned ...

Adnan Still Gettin' a Piece of Brit

The following italicized article is from www.tmz.com:

Adnan Ghalib is still making late-night house calls to Britney Spears -- despite rumors she dropped his ass for sending other ladies racy text messages.

Cameras caught him doing Brit's bidding at a gas station -- picking up an orange soda, Spears' favorite -- and telling paps all the stories about a breakup are "just rumors." He was then seen sliding right into Summit. Where he slid into from there is anybody's guess.

Britney Millenniumizes The Situation

The following italicized article is from www.x17online.com:

Yep, Brit was back and Millennium yesterday afternoon! After all her troubles in the past year (or two) and perhaps due to the drug cocktail we suspect doctors have put her on, she's carrying a teensy bit of extra weight and getting into the studio is probably exactly what she needs!

Stay away from the drive-thrus and keep up the healthy exercise, Brit! And then show us your moves sometime soon!

What would you like to see Britney do next?

So Messed Up

If you remember, when Britney shaved her head there were rumors she was raped at a bar...We never heard anything about it after a couple of days but it would be awful if it turned out to be true!

Lookin' Good!

Brit Brit is keeping up with her fitness.

The mother of two hit up the Millennium Dance studios in LA on Tuesday. Once again, she taught a dance class for young children.

Good! We think that is therapeutic for her.

There hasn't been much news in what used to be the crazy world of Britney Spears.

And, you know what???

No news is good news!

THE BRITNEY BOMB, ROUND ONE!

The following italicized article is from www.x17online.com:

Sam Lutfi's spokesperson, Michael Sands, is set to be deposed tomorrow -- not as a representative of Sam but as the former spokesperson for Kevin Federline's attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan. He's being put under oath in connection with KFed's custody suit.

Brit's former attorneys Trope & Trope subpoenaed Sands in hopes of getting some dirt on Kaplan and some inside scoop on the way Kevin's custody case is being run. And it looks like they'll get it! (Attorney Stacy Phillips will be handling the case now.)

Sands says he's privy to LOTS of juicy details; he told X17online exclusive, the following:

"I'll have to reveal the name of the person who told me Sam Lufti was a drug dealer and that I should plant that he was a drug dealer in the media. There were two people who witnessed this and I'll have to say who they are...

"I'll also have to reveal the name of the person who told me, after I'd beensubpoenaed -- I'd already picked up the subpoena from my post office box -- to actually take the subpoena back to the post office and put it back in thebox. I was told to pretend I'd never got it."

Whoa! And then Brit IS set to testify on March 17th in favor of dropping the restraining order against Sam, we hear.

Lots and lots of legal battles to come!

Will Brit also testify against her parents to have her father's conservatorship over her estate removed?

Is Jamie, who filed for bankruptcy in 1988, the best choice of people to be handling Britney's finances? And what about reports that Britney's money has been slowly disappearing over the past year? If it's true, where has that money been going?

Britney Teaches Kids "The Fish-Move"

The following italicized article is from www.tmz.com:

Whatever the judge might say, Britney Spears is getting rave reviews from the kids – the little girls she's teaching at the Millennium Dance Complex, that is.

"Today, first we were dancing slow, and then faster and faster," says 5-year-old Elissa Bouganim to People. "Then we did the fish-move and lots of other fun things." (Unclear what the fish-move is, but sounds "fun.") Elissa's mom Pam also gave Brit a thumbs-up: "Britney has really inspired her. It's just amazing to watch Britney with the kids."

Brit has become a "semi-regular" instructor at Millennium Dance in the past month.

Britney Spears Earns Raves as a Dance Teacher

The following italicized article is from www.people.com:

Britney Spears headed back into the dance studio Tuesday night to teach a class of 15 children.

And her pint-sized pupils are singing her praises. "I like Britney,” 5-year-old Elissa Bouganim, who has taken three classes with the pop star, tells PEOPLE. “Today, first we were dancing slow, and then faster and faster ... Then we did the fish-move and lots of other fun things."

The troubled 26-year-old has become a semi-regular instructor at the Millennium Dance Complex in the past month – as she has settled into an uncharacteristically quiet routine overseen by her dad Jamie.

"It's just amazing to watch Britney with the kids," says Elissa's mom, Pam. "Elissa won't stop dancing now, that's all she wants to do. Britney has really inspired her."

In fact, Elissa has grown so fond of her new teacher, she even gave Spears a gift during Tuesday's class. "It was a picture of [Peter Pan's] Tinkerbell," she says. "And she gave me a hug."

These days, Elissa would be happy if Spears taught all her classes. "Britney is nice," she says. "I want to dance with Britney all the time because it's so much fun."

BRITNEY SWEATS UP A STORM AT MILENNIUM

The following italicized article is from www.fadedyouthblog.com:

Britney Spears was once again spotted leaving Millennium Dance Complex in North Hollywood tonight, and it looks like she worked up a sweat while she was there.

The once troubled pop star’s chest still looked damp from the workout as she road away with the windows down in the back seat. Britney is getting serious about her dance rehearsals like she used to be!

Hopefully the endorphins from her workouts are also making her more calm and happy.
