Britney Spears had some interesting company at last night's Robin Thicke show - her agent Jason Trawick! Hmm - might Britney and Jason have been feeling Robin out for a potential guest spot on her upcoming album? We sure hope so - a pair of hitmakers like Britney and Robin could only result in solid gold!
Isn't it great seeing Britney wearing her favorite necklace?

Britney Wants To Quit Smoking!
The following italicized article is from www.x17online.com:
I'm not sure if it's true, 'cause if it is, she doesn't seem to be very successful in her efforts, but a source tells Foxnews.com that Britney's trying to give up the cancer sticks.
The report says Queen B has a 40-plus-a-day habit and that "it's her one last vice and she knows that her kids hate her doing it too."
We caught Brit on July 18, smoking in front of Sean Preston -- maybe being confronted with this reality encouraged her to want to make a change?
Bravo, Brit! Work those fags right outta your life!!!! For your own good and for your kids!
Smoking sucks!

Britney, Jonas Brothers Up for VMA Video of the Year
The following italicized article is from www.people.com:
Britney Spears may have had a tough time at last year's Video Music Awards, but she'll have a chance to redeem herself this year.
She is up for the show's top honor – video of the year – for "Piece of Me." The video was also nominated by the singer's fans for best pop video and best female video.
Other nominees in the category include the Jonas Brothers for "Burnin Up," Chris Brown's "Forever," the Pussycat Dolls' "When I Grow Up," and the Ting Tings' "Shut Up and Let Me Go."
The nominees for best rock video were also announced: Fall Out Boys' "Beat It," Paramore's "Crush, Crush, Crush," Slipknot's "Psychosocial," Lincoln Park's "Shadow of the Day," and Foo Fighters' "The Pretender."
Should Spears win, this will be her first Moonman; the pop star has been nominated 16 times, but has never walked away with an award.
Since Spears filmed a promo for the awards with host Russell Brand, MTV has confirmed there is a possibility she will appear at the awards, in one way or another – but not whether she will perform. Last year, Spears delivered a universally panned performance of her song "Gimme More" at the VMAs.
The VMAs air live from Los Angeles on Sept. 7. on MTV.

Britney Plays Koi, Sees Thicke!
The following italicized article is from www.x17online.com:
She may not have been smiling yesterday afternoon, but photogs caught a seemingly upbeat Britney having dinner at Koi last night!
And she certainly had something to smile about -- after dinner she went to the House of Blues to catch R&B sensation Robin Thicke!
We spied Halle Berry there too, celebrating her birthday!
Think there could be a Thicke collaboration in her future???
Now THAT would be interesting!
See more here!

Other nominees announced Friday — Paramore, Fall Out Boy, Slipknot, Linkin Park and Foo Fighters — were in the category of best rock video.

OK! Exclusive: Jamie Spears Breaks His Silence
The following italicized article is from www.ok-magazine.com:
For the first time since re-entering Britney Spears's life as her conservator, her dad Jamie Spears is talking exclusively to OK! about his struggle to help his daughter re-gain control of her life.
Brit's dad is telling everything — from what he thinks of Kevin Federline, to when he hopes the conservatorship will end, to how his relationship with Britney is today.
"We've grown a lot," Jamie tells OK!. "I've been able to come back into my daughter's life, and that was an adjustment anyway, because I'm an alcoholic and it's the first time we've really been able to share."
Jamie, who initially moved into Britney's Studio City home at the beginning of the conservatorship, says he no longer has to live in the house.
"I don't stay here anymore," he says. "Every now and then, I'll stay if we have something early in the morning we have to do. "
Jamie says both Brit and K-Fed wanted to avoid going to trial over their custody dispute, and that in the end it came down to negotiating how much time Brit wanted with their sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.
"It made no sense for that trial to proceed so we worked out an agreement," he tells OK!. "The agreement says that on Oct. 1 we'll probably get another overnight, and that will stay in place until the end of the year or the end of the conservatorship."
As for his feelings about Kevin, Jamie says, "Kevin has a wonderful heart. I don't agree with giving him more money.... He wants them to raise these kids together. Kevin's heart is right."
Currently, Britney has the boys on Monday, Wednesday and an overnight on Friday. As Britney's conservator, Jamie accompanies every visit. The conservatorship is in place through the end of the year, but Jamie says he's hopeful that his daughter will reach a place where she no longer needs it.
"I would hope that it stands until the end of the year, and then we'll sit back and evaluate where we are at the time, where Britney is at that time," he tells OK!.
Jamie admits the conservatorship was a major adjustment for Britney, but in a twist of fate, has given them both a chance to grow together as father and daughter.
"It's wonderful. It's new for both of us," he explains. "She sometimes calls me 50 times a day and asks me things that light my life up. But, like all daughters, she is very manipulative and cunning. So she gets what she wants a lot."
Britney's progress has been monumental, thanks in large part to her father taking the legal steps to take over her life. But, at the end of the day, Jamie is just a dad, trying to protect his daughter.
"I do understand that my baby made this monster," he says, adding, "But when she was down, people took advantage."

Thirty Seconds In Heaven With Britney Spears
You might remember that Remote Control blogger Control Freak was on the Los Angeles set where VMA host Russell Brand and Britney Spears recently shot those OMG! VMA promos. Well, we’ve got two more that we’ve been given the OK to post here, so we invited CF to hit it again.
Make that 60 seconds, since there are TWO brand spankin’ new VMA promos below!
As I told you Monday, this dumbstruck blogger got a chance to watch 2008 MTV Video Music Awards host Russell Brand and a soft-spoken yet stunning Britney Spears film MTV’s latest commercial spots last week. Which means I also got to watch Russell flirt wildly with the calm and collected singer, who spent most of 2007 unintentionally convincing media that she was anything but.
Good news! Britney’s sanity wasn’t an act for the cameras. She genuinely seemed happy, even if she’s back to travelling with an entourage of massive proportions, each with something to say about her hair, her makeup, her outfit, her facial expressions … you get the picture.
Speaking of pictures, I feel kinda sorry for the catering lady hunted down by Brit’s bodyguards for snapping a candid shot of the star from her mobile phone. Note to catering lady: always ask first.
The day wasn’t all about fending off Russell’s plans for heavy petting behind the elephant. In fact, when the cameras weren’t rolling, the two had some pleasant interactions, even if Britney appeared very perplexed by his hairdo. Picture this: Brit’s being primped by three people at once while she sucks her beverage of choice (Coke!) through a straw. Russell, like most of America, is fascinated by even the most mundane things Britney does, and says in his most thoughtful yet still comical tone, “I like that straw idea. It’s interesting now that I’ve seen it in action. It’s like, ‘Why wouldn’t I have a straw?’” And all of this happened whilst an elephant in the room danced on its heels. My job is awesome.
