Dad will force Brit to quit LA

Her dad JAMIE SPEARS, who was recently granted control of her affairs, plans to take her back to the family home away from “bad influences”.

He will file a court request to get Britney, 26, away from the clubs, drugs — and cheating ex-lover ADNAN GHALIB.

A Spears family source said: “Britney has been feeling lonely and isolated since her dad has taken control of her life.

“He hopes to take her back to Louisiana where she will be surrounded by her family. Jamie also hopes it will give her the chance to mend her troubled relationship with her mum and her more recent rift with her pregnant sister.

“And he hopes to keep her away from the negative LA scene and people who’ve been using her.”

In recent weeks the star has made a good recovery. She has remained off drugs and has been working on her next music video.

But her affairs will still be run by her dad and she is unable to see former manager SAM LUFTI who has been issued with a restraining order.

Britney still faces a driving without a licence charge in LA after being nabbed last August.

Britney's Bro Tackles the Trust Factor

Bryan Spears wants to know exactly what he's gotten himself into.

Britney Spear's 30-year-old brother and Ivan Taback, the attorney sharing cotrustee duties of Britney's SJB account, have filed a motion seeking to confirm that her living trust also owns the majority of the 26-year-old's various companies.

Taback helped Britney establish her trust in 2004, appointing her as the sole trustee, but in light of the pop star's recent hospitalization and loss of control of her estimated $100 million fortune to a conservatorship, a court commissioner named the lawyer and Bryan cotrustees.

A hearing is scheduled for Apr. 17. If Los Angeles Supreme Court Commissioner Reva Goetz approves their request, the SJB trust will be the confirmed owner of, among other Brit-centric companies, Britney Brands Inc., Britney Films Ltd., Britney Online Inc., Britney Television LLC and Fairy Zone Productions. (Britney Touring Inc., however, has already been turned over to father Jamie Spears as part of his responsibilities as coconservator, duties he shares with attorney Andrew Wallet.)

The trust already holds most of her financial assets, including hefty bank and brokerage accounts, but her interest in her companies was not automatically transferred, according to court documents filed Monday.

Bryan and Taback also state that some of said companies need immediate attending to, whether because they're conducting ongoing business, owe taxes or are parties to litigation, and ownership needs to be established.

Taback claims that he and his fellow trustee are well within their rights to petition for the transfer.

In 2004, "Britney confirmed to me her desire that all of her material financial assets, including…her right title and interest in and to all legal entities which she then owned, be transferred and vested in the trust," the attorney stated in a declaration included with Monday's filing.

Meanwhile, Jamie Spears' temporary conservatorship has been extended until at least July 31. He has been granted a $2,500 weekly allowance from his daughter's estate, plus a car allowance, while Britney gets $1,500 a week for "walking around" money, which does not have to be used for legal fees or other major bills.

Is The Business Of Britney In A Recession?

Britney Spears’ second release from the psych ward was a gold mine for the paparazzi.

Between tabloids, her recording career and her life in general, the revenue generated from all things Britney brought in up to $120 million in the past year. But now that Britney is staying home, is the business of Britney in a recession?

"Since her father has her under his control, we certainly haven't seen the number of photos that we used to see coming in of Britney," X-17 co-owner Brandy Navarre told Access Hollywood. "The subject of the photo is just not as interesting as it once was, so the prices do go down."

X-17 saw a 10 percent increase in overall profits with the help of exclusive photos like bald Britney, which made them a half-million dollars.

Now, with the pop star’s recent cleaned-up behavior, the amount of Britney pictures are way down – from more than 1,000 a day to a couple hundred, forcing the photo agency to change focus.

"It’s a different game now," Navarre explained. "It's a different challenge. We're moving on to other celebrities like Brad [Pitt] and Angelina [Jolie and] Jamie Lynn Spears. We’ve moved on to Britney’s sister."

Needles to say, Britney has shifted in priority.

"We had as many as maybe10 photographers chasing after her. Now we have probably three or four photographers working on her at any given time," she said.

And Spears’ gated community is empty these days. The main road once littered with paparazzi is a much different scene now that Britney’s dad, Jamie, has taken charge.

"After he took over the conservatorship, it got really, really slow for us," Britney’s trusted paparazzo friend Felipe said.

He was scheduled to follow Britney daily, from 4 PM to 4 AM, but has since undergone a dramatic shift change.

"She's not going out at night as much as she used to … you know I started working the daytime between 11 AM to 11 PM," he said.

OK! magazine features editor Rob Chilton has noticed the change in his magazine’s focus, as well.

"There are fewer shots now of Britney doing crazy things," Chilton told Access. "Now we're seeing a more stable, more calm Britney so there are less shocking stories about Britney these days."

As for Us Weekly, Britney was only on the cover once in the last six weeks, a far cry from last September through mid-February. Then, around the time of her custody battle and hospitalizations, Britney was Us Weekly's hot topic in 23 out of 24 issues.

And with no Britney scandal to report, this week’s tabs feature Britney-free covers.

But there is proof that Spears still sells. TV Guide put "Tudors" star Jonathan Rhys-Meyers on the cover of the new issue mailed to subscribers, but chose to put Britney on the cover of the issue available on newsstands in an attempt to boost sales.

"People want to read about Britney," Chilton said. "There is still that fascination with her whether it's good or bad."

Prosecutors Refuse to Drop Driving Charges Against Britney Spears

1. Miley Cyrus: A suddenly very warped, drunk and preferably pregnant Miley Cyrus—a Miley who has dropped the well-scrubbed hillbilly family routine, dipped herself in a massive vat of glitter-caked Vaseline and engaged in decidedly un-Disneylike relations on video with some or, preferably all, members of the Jonas clan.

"We'd need a shift in spotlight to someone else who people find even more interesting right now," says Kirk Olson, vice president of the trend research firm Iconoculture. "And the only person who fits is Miley Cyrus."

2. More money, less war: Seriously. Americans always gravitate toward salacious gossip and light news when they're feeling insecure and crave escape, Olson says. We also like to see other people fail whenever our money is running low and our death tolls are high. "In times that are uncertain, consumers gravitate toward this icon-toppling behavior," Olson tells this B!tch.

3. Britney turns into Carrie Underwood: And it bores us into fleeing.

4. Nothing: "I don't think the interest is ever going to go away," says MediaWeek's Lucia Moses. "Sociologically speaking, celebrity seems to answer an inner need for people. I do think we've naturally reached a limit of media outlets covering the subject, though."

That's a comfort. Sort of. Not.

Expert Agrees Britney Case Not Quite Kosher

The attorney who persists in representing Britney Spears, despite having been given instructions to the contrary, is still on the court's case.

New York-based lawyer Jon Eardley filed a new batch of documents Monday related to his appeal of the legality of Britney's conservatorship, including a declaration from a UCLA law professor that supports his theory that the 26-year-old pop star never received proper notice—as mandated by state law—that her father was seeking control of her estate.

A Los Angeles Superior Court commissioner named Jamie Spears and attorney Andrew Wallet coconservators of Britney's estimated $100 million fortune on Feb. 1, a day after she was committed to the neuropsychiatric ward at UCLA Medical Center for observation.

Since then, Commissioner Reva Goetz has ruled that Britney was not fit to hire her own counsel and, most recently, allocated a $1,500 weekly spending allowance for the "Toxic" singer and a $2,500-per-week stipend for her dad while he's managing her affairs and authorized Jamie and Wallet to sell some of Britney's cars. The conservatorship has been extended until at least July 31.

Meanwhile, professor William McGovern stated in a declaration filed Monday that Britney should have been personally served notice of the court proceedings occurring while she was in the hospital because her case was not one where the rule of offering at least five days notice did not apply. In Britney's case, she was not facing imminent substantial harm.

Because Britney wasn't notified, due process law dictates that Jamie's heightened status should have been good for no more than 30 days, the declaration says.

Britney's right to pick her own lawyer was infringed upon by the appointment of her father as conservator, which allowed him to restrict and limit her visitors and who she can contact, McGovern continued.

He stated that he arrived at his conclusion after reviewing Goetz's temporary conservatorship order and corresponding documents filed by Jamie and Lynne Spears.

After a federal judge refused to remove the case from probate court, Eardley appealed the conservatorship and Jamie's court-ordered allowance on Mar. 11, despite U.S. District Judge Philip Gutierrez's previous finding that he had "no authority" to go to bat for Britney.

Meanwhile, documents released Wednesday shed some light as to why Jamie's camp is looking to liquidate his daughter's vehicular fleet, which includes two white Mercedes, a white Mini Cooper convertible and a black Audi. (View related filings.)

Apparently Britney owns seven rides of various shapes and sizes and unloading the cost of maintaining, insuring and storing the vehicles will "save substantial expenses to the conservatorship estate."

Britney's License Trial Parked Again

Britney Spears' driving-without-a-license case has been steered off course once again.

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge on Thursday postponed the troubled pop star's long-pending trial on the misdemeanor charge until June 18.

The continuance was expected, as Spears is currently unable to enter a plea on her own behalf, due to being under the control of a legal conservatorship.

Los Angeles Deputy City Attorney Michael Amerian told E! News on Wednesday that he anticipated "no fireworks" in court.

"I don't expect anything to happen, especially with her not being able to enter a plea," he said.

Spears' criminal attorney, J. Michael Flanagan, was reportedly unable to attend the hearing because he was in trial, but sent an associate from his firm on his behalf. Judge T.K. Herman, who has been presiding over the case, was also absent and was replaced by a substitute.

Spears herself was neither required, nor expected, to be present.

The driving-without-a-license charge stems from the pop star's August 2007 hit-and-run accident, which occurred in front of the paparazzi's every-ready cameras.

Though Spears eventually reached a settlement with the owner of the other car, it was later discovered that she was not in possession of a valid California driver's license at the time of the incident. She did, however, have a valid Louisiana license, which has led to confusion over which law she specifically violated.

Jamie Lynn: Enjoying Her Pregnancy

With less than three months left before she becomes a mom, Jamie Lynn Spears is living it up — shopping, hanging out with her friends and behaving like any other normal teenage girl.

Even though the paparazzi have invaded her hometown of Kentwood, La., Jamie Lynn seems to have a better handle on them than her big sis, Britney Spears, did. "She has such a level head on her. She is handling this situation with a maturity that is surprising even her own family," a friend of the Zoey 101 star tells OK!.

On March 9, Jamie Lynn attended a local baseball game. A few days later she went on a coffee run with a girlfriend, and on March 13, she hit up one of her favorite local shops, Connie's Jewelry & Gifts, for a few trinkets. "She's behaving like a pretty normal teen," the friend says. "She's not even worried about how much weight she puts on or doing any special exercises. At her age, her body will bounce right back and she knows it."

As far as her relationship with her sister is concerned, the friend tells OK! that Britney and Jamie Lynn talk at least every couple of weeks, and are working to re-establish the closeness they once had.

South Park Episode Review

Toxicgall, a member at Pop Prodigy, posted her very own analysis of the South Park episode featuring Britney which aired tonight. I absolutely agree with her point of view and so I decided to post her editorial. Note that I'll have the full episode available on the site tomorrow. Read on...

Toxicgall: My analysis of "South Park."

This is my own personal editorial. A long opinionated essay if you will.

There was a lot of symbolism and lessons in this show. Lot more than I remember in past shows. Of course, the obvious lesson is how both the media and Britney's bosses treat her not as a person but as a way to make profit, of course we learn in the end that the profit was a great harvest. She is tricked by photographers, in this case Kyle, Stan and Cartman, to almost get a picture of her for profit by using the nastiest trick there is, saying their her children to gain access to her. Her manager wants her to make a hit she obviously cannot make. Other employees at Jive call her a trainwreck and cast off her behavior as her just being stoned. No one cared enough to stop and see what was truly wrong.

Another lesson is how terrible this society is that we will build someone up only for the benefit of tearing them down to somehow feel good about themselves.

Her blowing the top of her head off, though unexpected and hard to take at first, was necessary. It was a grotesque yet brilliant way to symbolically say what she is going through. If they'd gone the route of just making her act crazy - it would seem as if they're ridiculing her current state of mind and not focusing on the true problem at hand. It was a way for Matt Stone and Trey Parker to convey the message that she has lost her mind. They symbolically show this by her literally losing most of her head. By her losing the top of her head and most of her brain, she is unable to communicate like she wants but her body language tells all.

Despite the fact she is seriously handicapped, the media never leave her alone. And they focus on things that are so trivial, a zit, a plastic surgery scar, weight gain, a camel-toe, etc., that if it were to happen to a quote, unquote normal person no one would care, but because it is her, the world has stopped. The fact she has only the lower part of her face is crucial to the plot line and their message. It's bad enough they do this when she's completely healthy, but so much worse when half her head is gone or, in real life, sanity. It gave me an even greater understanding of her situation and a greater compassion for her.

They made reference to "The Omen" but more importantly of the short story "The Lottery" written by Shirley Jackson in the 1948. In this story, a small-town continues the tradition of holding an annual lottery. A representative of each family in the town draws a slip of paper. All slips are blank except one has a black dot. The family who receives the slip with the black dot must then have each individual family member draw their own slips to see who will be the lone "winner" of the family. The one who receives the slip with the black dot. The mother of the family has "won," and the town along with her family begin to stone her to death. There is no rhyme or reason to why they do what they do, other than it is tradition and tradition is not to be toiled with or questioned.

Jackson said in a later interview that it was her way to point out the general violence and inhumanity in people's own lives and communities.

Stone and Parker are using the story as a metaphor of our excessive need to tear some one down until they are brought to their demise. We feed on torment and personal pain to somehow feel better about our own lives.

The harvest not only symbolizes the money Britney made for Jive and her management and anyone else on her payroll along the way plus the countless magazines and paparazzos. It also represents our need as fans for her to continuously work to feed our entertainment hunger. To entertain our petty little lives, to bring us joy at the cost of hers. Britney died in "South Park" to give them a great harvest. In real life, Britney's spirit is dying, she is sacrificing it to feed the machine, to give selfish people (including myself) happiness at the expense of her own.

The addition of Miley Cyrus, who I had thought previously to this show was the first to possibly rival Britney's teenage success, shows the torch being passed on. The tradition, no matter how sick or twisted, continues. Just like it had before them with Judy Garland and Marilyn Monroe among others. And it's not even about Garland's and Monroe's early deaths but the emotional and mental turmoil success had caused them.

Of course, things are much worse now. The paparazzi are much more of a force than they were in the past. The advent of blogs, video-sharing websites, entertainment news programs along with advancements in technology - camera phones and high powered, high resolution telescopic cameras makes it virtually impossible to escape the paparazzi's wrath. It makes one wonder if Garland or Monroe would have mentally survived as long as they did. It makes sense that Britney is now suffering why she is. She does need to get away from it all, maybe not the North Pole, but she needs to escape - her life may not be dependant on it but her sanity and happiness surely are.

It’s amazing how a little cartoon which likes to use fart and poop jokes on a frequent basis can so eloquently explain what is happening to her and who/what is the cause. They, through the character of Kyle, also admit that they were once a part of this demon that is bringing her down. The fact that Cartman, who can find compassion for nobody has such a small role in this episode, shows how serious they were to bring compassion towards Britney. They feel it no longer appropriate to use Britney as a target for parody. Her struggles, her imperfections and her behavior are no longer laughing matters.

I recommend you watch the show with an open mind and deep concentration of what the show is trying to say.

What we want to know is, will Britney hook up with Kenny?
