E! News has confirmed that a child custody evaluation report detailing the pros and cons of Britney Spears' mothering has been completed.

The report, commissioned by a Los Angeles family court in Spears' ongoing battle with ex-hubby Kevin Federline over young sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, was filed Friday by Dr. Jane Shatz.

Lawyers for both Spears and Federline declined to comment on the substance of the document.

While no specific positives or criticisms have been made public, the report's findings are expected to get a full airing at the next hearing in the case, set for May 6, when attorneys are planning to debate merits of a modified custody arrangement.

Spears, who has typically avoided courtroom showdowns in the matter, may actually show this time to defend herself.

CBS Confirms Britney Spears Will Return To ‘How I Met Your Mother’

Britney Spears, who proved she’s worth a cool million viewers to “How I Met Your Mother,” is paying another visit to the CBS sitcom.

Spears will reprise her role as bubbly secretary Abby in the May 12 episode, CBS said Monday.

“Desperate to get a rise out of his former pal, Barney pops a surprising question to Abby,” CBS said in a release.

“How I Met Your Mother” stars Harris, Radnor, Cobie Smulders, Alyson Hannigan and Jason Segel (“Forgetting Sarah Marshall”) as an urban family of 20-something New Yorkers.

The pop star’s camp originally approached the show about taking part, executive producer Carter Bays told The Associated Press earlier this month.

In the words of Long Duck Dong, he's getting maweeed?! Can't be, right? Our beloved Barnana is TV's most beloved antimonogamist!

And more importantly, where does this leave the blossoming Barney-Robin romance? Could this lead to a (please, oh please) Robin-Abby smackdown? My money's on the superfamous, internationally renowned pop star to come out victorious: Miss Robin Sparkles.

As for the tiff between Barney and Ted, as we previously reported, yes, the boys will have a falling out, and yes, Barney will be picking up a new wingman—to be played by Will Forte of Saturday Night Live. But given that Ted refers to Barney as "Uncle Barney" in the future while storytelling to his kids, I'm thinking it all works out just fine...

Not only is Brit Brit lookin' fine and not at all a mess (she even managed to tame her weave), I must remind you that these trips to the recording studio and to the vocal coach bode very well for a new album of material very soon (I'm hoping for a Fall release). What difference a year makes ... why, exactly one year ago today, Britney was routinely flashing her panties (thankfully, she was finally wearing panties again). It's good to be on Team Britney again.

On the Jamie Lynn Spears front, Mama Lynne Spears has been spending time with little JL in their hometown of Kentwood, LA where the pair have been stocking up on baby essentials to prepare for the arrival of the newest member of the Spears family:
Awww yeah ... I know of a certain little young'n who is gonna get about a spoilt as as a young'n can be from the baby aisle at Wal-Mart. Some children are just born lucky. Isn't it so odd that just a few months ago, JL was the last hope of the Spears family as Britney seemed mired in her own destruction and now the roles are reversed. Britney is on the upswing while JL is ... well ... not. I much prefer for both Spears sisters to get their lives in order but I am happy that Britney is doing so well again. JL will be fine as a 16 year old mother ... sometimes you just can't run away from your destiny.

Britney's Comeback Checklist

While Amy Winehouse has been wreaking havoc on the poor and unsuspecting people of London, Britney Spears has been quietly taking care of her personal bizznazz here in SoCal without making much of a fuss and without causing any sort of ruckus at all. It's really amazing how much difference a few months makes. It wasn't that long ago that Britney was he one putting her life in peril on a nightly basis with her dangerous partying behavior and now she's in a position where she is working diligently on making a serious comeback. Here are a few photos from our dear Britney's quiet but positively progressive week:
Early this week, Britters spent some alone time with her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James along with her ever-watchful daddy Papa Jamie Spears at her Beverly Hills manse. The group spent some time playing in her backyard and then went en masse for a little walk together ... possibly the same kind of family walks that Brit Brit used to enjoy with her family when she was growing up in Kentwood, LA.
For over a week now, Britney has been religiously showing up at various Bally's Total Fitness gyms all around SoCal where she has been diligently engaging in a serious work out regiment. Not only has Britney been working on her fitness but she is also reportedly in negotiations to become the new spokesperson for Bally's Total Fitness ... which is pretty unheard of, considering that just last year no major corporation would even dream of associating their brand with her likeness.
And just yesterday, Britney was spotted making her way out of a private session with her new vocal coach, proudly carrying a CD of her vocal lesson for all to see. I think the message is that Britney wants us all to know that she is very serious about getting her life back in order so that she can once again reach the heights of superstardom that she once enjoyed. I can see it now -- a new album and maybe a tour in the Fall with headlines around the world proclaiming that Britney Spears has pulled off the greatest comeback in music history. Monuments might be erected in her honor, sonnets may be penned to her glory ... pilgrims from all over the world will stream to Southern California in the hopes that they might be able to touch the hem of her garments so that they might too benefit from the miracle that has changed her life. Well ... maybe it wont' go that far but I can deffo foresee a chance for Britney Spears to stun the world with a massive turnaround. We're witnessing the seeds of her transformation right now ... and it's a really amazing sight to see.
