She headed out of a back door of the hotel, with Jason following, still trying to calm her down. She looked furious. It's clear there is trouble in paradise" Spears' rep declined to comment.

Britney Spears Gets in Some Shopping Before Leaving Chicago

Britney Spears can thank Oprah and U2 for the lack of buzz surrounding her visit to Chicago this week. The talk show host and Irish rock band stole most of the headlines, making Spears somewhat of an afterthought.

The lack of Britney buzz was also due, in part, to her low-key lifestyle these days. Or at least low-key by Spears' standards. There were no outrageous club stories or panty-less pictures, just a couple of sightings at downtown restaurants and a visit to Bloomingdales.

On Wednesday, Spears ate at Bistro 110 with her two sons before performing at the Allstate Arena. The following night, she had dinner with her kids at Baisi Thai, which is located on the 6th floor of The 900 Shops. Spears ordered sweet and sour chicken, sweet and sour shrimp and broccoli and beef -- or as the Chinese place down the street from me likes to call it, the No. 105, the No. 106 and the always popular No. 85.

After dinner, Spears stopped by Bloomingdales and bought a few things from the children's department.

Spears Buying Father a Restaurant

The ‘Toxic’ singer Britney Spears is keen for her father Jamie Spears – who was made co-conservator of her personal and professional affairs following her public breakdown last year – to run a new eatery when the conservatorship comes to an end.

A source said: "Britney just wanted to give him something useful as a sign of her appreciation.

"After all their ups and downs she knows he's always got her best interests at heart."

Britney - who opened her ill-fated New York restaurant Nyla in 2002 - plans to serve soul food at the Los Angeles eatery.

Soul food is popular in the southern states of America - Britney was raised in Kentwood, Louisiana - and includes dishes such as fried chicken, barbecued ribs, black eyed peas and sweet potato.

Earlier this month, it was revealed Jamie wants a judge to review the conditions of the conservatorship agreement when Britney's 'Circus' world tour concludes in November.

A US website reported: "Jamie can't ask the judge to end it - just to review it. The judge then decides if Britney should regain control of her life."

Jamie thinks Britney - who currently has shared custody of her two children with ex-husband Kevin Federline, Sean Preston, three, and two-year-old Jayden James - is now strong enough to look after herself.

Britney Spears: No Red Bull, No Alcohol at Mad Mex (But Lots of Guac!)

While her contracted road crew can be overly rowdy, the rest of Britney Spears' tour team are quite the sober, well-behaved bunch.

Spears and her entourage of 20 hit Mad Mex in the Pittsburgh suburb of North Hills on Thursday night for a completely pleasant two and a half hour meal.

The only caveat laid out in advance by Britney's team: no Red Bull and no alcohol were to be offered to the table. That, and no flash photography.

The meal came the evening after two road crew members had been arrested by Pittsburgh police, which followed a statement from Britney's camp saying the roadies had been dismissed and that Spears' camp would "not tolerate this type of behavior."

"This meal was a really low-key encounter," says manager Matthew Salopek.

Britney rolled up in an SUV limo all dinner-casual—in jeans along with a green and white striped shirt.

Moments later the rest of the tour players showed up for the low-key meal. With a table for Britney's crew, one for her dancers and a separate table for security, the group dined on nachos, burritos and guacamole. Lots of the guac. "They kept commenting that it was a lot like West Coast guac and asking for more," says Salopek. "We brought tons." For beverages the group had only soda and water per previous orders.

Britney Spears had the nachos grande plate "which is a meal onto itself. She was in a good mood—smiling and talking."

As word leaked out about the superstar's presence, more and more locals started to find their way into the restaurant. However, the Brit-group was left to itself, no doubt due to the three security guards working the room. "They were unassuming but a presence," says Salopek.

"One of the guys was really big."

"No one went up to them. People in the restaurant seemed to take the whole thing in stride."

And the major celebrity was pretty great as well. "I've worked with far-lesser stars who were a much greater pain," says Salopek. "They were really low-key and it was just nice to have them."

"And they tipped well."

Indeed, after their meal was done, Britney made a quick exit with a smile and a simple good-bye.

"Other than the security guard, and one huge international star," says Salopek, "it was really was a run-of-the-mill evening."

Lawyer: K-Fed Getting a 'Bad Rap' on Expenses

Whether it was a $1,100 tip at an L.A. restaurant or a $2,000 tip at a Vegas strip club, Kevin Federline's 2007 spending – detailed in recently released financial documents – has critics buzzing over his lavish lifestyle. But his lawyer says they need to look at the bigger picture before passing judgment.

"He's totally getting a bad rap here," according to Federline attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan, who says the "court of public opinion" is focusing on a few outstanding expenditures. "It seems like an unnecessary attempt to knock him when there's really no basis to do that."

Kaplan claims that even the $2,000 Scores strip club tip has a logical explanation. "That was for a group of people for a friend's bachelor party," says Kaplan, who adds that it wasn't a tip: "That's just how the club categorized it."

Many of Federline's tips are less extravagant. During a September trip to Fat Tony's Italian Restaurant in North Carolina, he tipped $10.00 on a $41.69 bill.

Federline's Double Life

The papers show two sides to K-Fed. Last August, he spent $304.30 to fly to Las Vegas on low-cost Southwest Airlines. ("He doesn't fly private and more often he drives," says Kaplan.) But once he was there, he didn't cut corners. Over the next three days, he spent $3,038.69 at the Hard Rock Beach Club, $3,863.50 at Tao, and $10,220.65 at The Venetian.

Still, some of his spending is less rock star and more suburban dad. Routine charges at Target ($115.10), IKEA ($246.66) and Albertson's grocery store ($405.75) fill his credit card statements, interspersed with occasional shopping sprees at toy stores. (In May, he dropped $2,167.52 in one day at Toys R Us and Babies R Us.)

Kaplan also disagrees with Britney Spears's legal team's argument that the larger expenses suggest Federline should foot some of the custody-battle legal bills that he's asked her to pay.

"Don't focus on whether he spent too much money going on a vacation or going to a restaurant," says Kaplan. "Focus – as the court does – on was he reasonable having to incur these [court] fees? The answer is a resounding yes." Kaplan says that the legal fees were "built up quite frankly by the conduct of [Spears]" during some of her court-delaying, widely-publicized antics.

"I don't think the court should be distracted by the fact that he went to Las Vegas and spent $1,000 or $5,000,” says Kaplan. "It's not relevant."

Jamie Lynn Spears Spends 17th Birthday Without Family

Throughout dinner, the singer, 26, "was talking most to her brother Bryan, whom she seems to be close to. He seemed protective of her and shielded her from the rest of the restaurant."

After the meal, the family — carrying doggy bags — returned to Britney's Beverly Hills home.

Just two years ago, the Spears family celebrated Jamie Lynn's birthday at an Italian restaurant called Divino — across the street from last night's gathering.
