Okay, so let me get this straight. This week will hopefully be a start of many more positive weeks to come. The week started off with a bang, with Spears shocking everyone by showing up for her scheduled deposition for the ongoing custody battle.
Whilst most people were having a laid-back Sunday enjoying the federal holiday, “Martin Luther King Jr. Day” – Spears was out being deposed by K-Fed’s lawyer Mark Kaplan. The “gut-wrenching” deposition lasted well over 2 hours. An Emergency Court Hearing also took place this week, called by Spears’ legal team – however, no changes to the custody has taken place. Additionally, Spears current manager, Sam Lutfi was also deposed this week by Kaplan. Overall, Kaplan sure had a busy week – whilst the custody case is obviously finally progressing.
Britney’s legal run-ins didn’t end there – as her hit and run case also came up this week. Although, the hit and run charges were dismissed – she still faces a charge of driving without a license. She was offered a fine of $3000 if she pleaded guilty – however, her attorney, Michael Flanagan turned down the deal and will likely take the case to trial.
Spears personal life wasn’t the only thing in the spotlight this week; her music career was also having a good week. Her recently released single, “Piece of Me” is doing extremely well both on the charts and iTunes – whilst the video is soaring on TRL. Britney has also been seen rehearsing a dance routine religiously, for her new track, “Hot as Ice” from her latest album “Blackout”. This has sparked rumors that Spears is reportedly rehearsing for an upcoming performance or even a tour! All of this will be part of the promotion for the album’s re-release.
Saving the best for last, just yesterday Spears also remarkably won, "Best International Album" at the NRJ Music Awards in France. Britney proves yet again, that she still dominates the music scene – beating the likes of Mika, Amy Winehouse, James Blunt and Rihanna!
One thing’s for sure, Spears seems definitely on the right track on getting her life back.
Then again with Britney, anything can happen! – Only time will truly tell.

If you go back and look at what happened in that fender bender, Brit was swarmed by paps. And there are times when she gets really rattled by them. I don't blame her for the accident or for not thinking about leaving a note.
