Paris Hilton: Spears Is A 'great mother'

In an interview that was to air Tuesday night, Hilton says: "She's a very sweet girl and I love her to death."

Hilton and Spears were nearly inseparable following the pop star's split from ex-husband Kevin Federline.

The tabloid magnets were photographed partying, shopping and driving in a car with Lindsay Lohan in the weeks after Spears filed for divorce from Federline in November 2006. But their whirlwind public friendship seemed to fizzle out after Spears' fans complained that Hilton was a negative influence.

Hilton served a 23-day jail sentence in Los Angeles last June for violating probation in an alcohol-related reckless-driving case. She vowed to focus on philanthropy afterward.

Meanwhile, Spears, 26, continued to unravel in the public eye after a rough year in which she shaved her head, checked in and out of rehab and attacked a car with an umbrella.

She was taken to a Los Angeles hospital by paramedics earlier this month after police were called to her home because of a dispute involving her two sons. A court commissioner decided to keep in effect an order suspending Spears' right to visit Jayden James, 1, and Sean Preston, 2.

Touring

- Britney wants to do a world tour but her label is concerned that such a tour is too risky. They fear it would not be well received or that she would cancel a lot of dates or the whole tour.- Britney most likely will do a small venue tour, similar to the ‘House Of Blues’ tour, sometime in Summer 2008.
- This tour would be an overall improvement over last year’s tour, the set list has her performing around 10-15 songs.- The “Hot As Ice” chair routine she was seen practicing is for this tour.
- Tentative locations for the tour are small venues across the US in these cities: LA, San Diego, Las Vegas, NYC, Miami, Orlando, and Chicago [May not be House Of Blues locations but just small venues].
- The NYC show may be filmed for an MTV special, designed to help promote the ‘Blackout’ re-release.

Next Album

- Britney re-recorded a lot of material from ‘ The Original Doll’; Hawaii and JR sessions.- “All That She Wants” was originally for ‘The Original Doll’ but has been re-recorded twice since then [the leaked version is the second version; three versions exist].
- She wants the next album to be more personal and a darker pop album that’s less mainstream.
- The album is going to be stripped down with less vocal editing so she can sing the songs live and doesn’t have to rely on dancing as much.

Exclusive: Britney Spears Offered $3,000 Fine Deal!

The City Attorney has offered Britney Spears a deal in her August hit and run case — but she's not going to take it. The hit and run charges were dismissed, but she still faces a charge of driving without a license.

Brit's attorney Michael Flanagan exclusively tells PageSix.com that the City Attorney has offered her a plea deal of pleading guilty to a misdemeanor of "driving without a California driver's license: no probation, contingent on her paying the maximum fine of $3000." Flanagan tells us that he will turn down the deal in court tomorrow as "they are attempting to treat her differently than they would any other person who did not have a valid license at the time. The offense for which she is charged is treated as a fix-it ticket which doesn't even require a court appearance."

A normal fine in this instance would be $100 plus court-assessed fees of up to $250. Then again, Brit does make upward of $700k a month...

Flanagan will ask the City Attorney for discovery tomorrow asking "them to provide what witnesses they have that can prove that she is domiciled in California, as she has homes in Florida and Lousiana, as well as California." Sources tell us that Flanagan could take this case to trial.

Britney Pal Sam Lutfi Deposed By K-Fed Lawyer

Britney Spears confidante Sam Lutfi was deposed Thursday by Kevin Federline's lawyer, a source confirms.

Lutfi has avoided the questioning for months, having evaded being served a notice to appear by Federline's legal team.

Last August, former Israeli commando Aaron Cohen, hired by lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan, tried to subpoena Lutfi by boxing in his car in L.A., but failed to serve him.

Lutfi was finally served on Nov. 7 "in the parking lot of a place in Hollywood," Kaplan told PEOPLE, but pulled a no-show for at least one appointment in November.

Kaplan is gathering evidence in a series of legal interviews of former Spears associates to prepare for trial in April for Federline's request for primary physical custody of the ex-couple's children.

Spears herself has only completed two sessions to date, after missing numerous appointments with Kaplan.

Kevin Won't Let Britney Speak To Her Boys

An insider says that although Britney and ex-husband Kevin Federline's interactions are “strained,” they still talk every few days, mostly about their sons. The 26-year-old pop star is taking the separation from her children hard, according to the insider, and her temper tantrums have continued to get worse. Kevin, 29, has been looking into both joint counseling for Britney and the boys and individual counseling for Britney.

The family insider says that at the custody hearing on Tuesday, Kevin was questioned about the boys well-being and he reported to the court that the boys are doing well and are happy. Kevin is also said to be planning to ask for his financial arrangement with Britney to be amended because his expenses for child care and security have substantially increased now that he has full custody of his sons.

While the world continues to be baffled as to why Britney keeps showing up at court only to back out at the last minute, her family has their own theories. The family insider tells PageSix.com that Brit’s mom believes that the singer’s control issues are keeping her out of court. “Lynne thinks Britney is afraid of facing people she sees as having to much control over her life,” the insider says.

Kevin is said to be disappointed that Britney failed to appear in court on Tuesday but “he is beginning to understand that she has an emotional issue with it.”

Britney 'Would Never Harm Children'

Ghalib told the Insider: "We are talking about someone who had one of the most dynamic careers and gave it up for her kids.

"She is no different from any other mum. She's no different at all. Does she spend nights upset about not having her kids? All the time. Does she look at pictures and go through photos of her and the kids? All the time."

He went on: "She doesn't even drink. I have seen her drink twice or maybe three times."
