New Britney Spears Single "Womanizer" Takes #1 Spot On iTunes Top 10 Downloads

"Womanizer", the debut single from Britney Spears' latest album Circus, climbed up to the #1 spot of iTunes Top Downloads chart in less than 24 hours upon it's release last Tuesday and has not moved since.

A final sales tally won't be available until Thursday, but predictions are estimating sales of over 250,000 downloads through iTunes and other digital outlets including Amazon, Rhapsody and Walmart. A racy new video, which premiered Friday night and already has over 3 million online views, should propel its sales and could possibly keep it at #1 for another week.

Rapper T.I., whose latest album Paper Trail was just released last week, scores 2 chart-topping singles with "Live Your Life" featuring Rihanna at #2 and "Whatever You Like," moving down to #6, respectively. "Live Your Life" is the current #1 Hot 100 Billboard single, while "Whatever You Like" is #2. Once sales and airplay are factored together, T.I.'s two monster singles and Spears' debut should round out the Top 3 singles at Billboard.

Former #1 "So What" by pop artist Pink is still strong at #3 on iTunes, while the latest single by "I Kissed A Girl" singer Katy Perry, "Hot 'N Cold", is currently in the #4 spot. Newcomer Kevin Rudolf's single, "Let It Rock," featuring rapper Lil' Wayne continues steady on the iTunes chart at #5.

Taylor Swift's "Love Story" hits its highest placement so far on the chart at #7, while Kanye West tribal love song "Love Lockdown" is at #8. Nickelback's new single, "Gotta Be Somebody," off their upcoming album is steadily rising up the chart at #9. Christina Aguilera's electro-tinged release off her upcoming greatest hits of the same name, "Keeps Gettin' Better," moves down to #10.

Britney Spears To Tour Next Spring

Wade Robson: 'Rehearsels Start In January - Tour Kicks Off In March'

SHE'S swapped her "warped" ways for the showbiz straight-and-narrow, now Britney Spears has hired an Aussie dancing man to help choreograph her return to the world spotlight.

Wade Robson styled Spears early steps to pop culture fame, but told Confidential yesterday he will reunite with the singer as she prepares to climb her way back up the charts.

The 26-year-old, who was given his start - controversially - by Michael Jackson as an 8-year-old, remains in hot demand as a dance director and confirmed he will write the moves for Spears' upcoming world tour.

"She reached out to me and said she wanted to get the old team back together, so we'll go into rehearsals in January for a March start," he said.

Like the rest of the world, Robson said he watched Spears self-destruction with horror, but explained "when you exist in a warped world, warped things are going to happen to you".

Confirmed: Tour Starts Spring 2009

And I've got lots of it! I JUST got an alert from Jive on my BRITberry (Get it?? You love my corny jokes, admit it.) Britney has officially announced plans to begin a tour next spring in support of Circus! Sources are also saying that this will likely be a WORLD tour. Brit hasn't toured since 2004's In The Zone which I LOVED, so this is all v thrilling to hear.

Moving on... there was an incredible reaction to the "Womanizer" video, which has already brought in millions of views between both Britney.com and Brit's official YouTube channel. I'm not surprised though, are you? BritBrit's got the most amazing, dedicated fans EVER! That being said, the Director's Cut of the "Womanizer" vid will be available on iTunes within the next few days, hopefully by the end of the week. (It takes a few days to get into the iTunes system, hence the short wait.) As soon as I have the exact date, you'll be the first to know.

Speaking of iTunes, thanks to those of you who alerted me to the fact that "Womanizer" was no longer available for purchase. You're my eyes and ears, what on earth would I do without you? Anyway, Jive is looking into this problem as we speak, and they're working to get it resolved ASAP. There seems to be a glitch with iTunes, as Jive did not ask that the single be removed. So for now, relish in the Britney excitement. What would you like to see happen on Brit's tour? I've got a few ideas — that don't involve Bozo the Clown. He's scary and I'll bet he's a womanizer...

It looks like serious plans for Britney Spears’s long-awaited comeback are really, truly underway. Marc Malkin from E! News is reporting that Britney has signed a deal with a major concert tour producer to begin work on the “world tour” that she announced she would be embarking on next year. You may recall that Britney made the surprising announcement on NYC radio station Z100 late September that she would be hitting the road next year on a new tour … Malkin reports that the first big step in creating that tour has already been taken. She’s comin’, y’all … she’s really comin’:

I must admit, even tho I was very excited by Brit Brit’s radio announcement last month it did occur to me that she might’ve overspoken or exaggerated the state of her eventual concert tour comeback. She kinda just blurted out I’m going on tour next year so a tiny part of me didn’t really, totally believe it … not just yet. With this news, I’m really believing it. So much is going on with Britney right now — and it’s all positive, good news. I suspect that she will begin her portion of tour preparations (ie. choreography) fairly soon … especially if this deal with AEG has already been signed. We have no idea when her tour might kick off next year — it could be as late as Fall or as early as Summer — but at least we have something to look forward to. The world has been waiting for Britney to reclaim the concert stage … I’m happy to report that it shant be long now :)

Britney Spears' Womaniser Video Records Seven Million Hits In 48 Hours

The video is directed by Joseph Kahn, the man behind the clip for Britney's earlier release "Toxic".

The raunchy single portrays Spears in various states of undress, while she is also seen dressing up as a secretary, a roller-skating waitress and a chauffeur.

The video has been viewed millions of times on YouTube since being uploaded at the weekend.

There are high expectations "Womanizer" will confirm Spears' comeback following a troubled few years, during which she suffered a nervous breakdown.

The singer won three awards at the MTV VMAs last month. Her new single is the first from her forthcoming album Circus, which is released later this year.

She has also recently shed 10lb after going teetotal to get her body in shape for the video.

A source told The Daily Star: "The video has already been an amazing success and is just going to keep getting bigger.

"Brit still has a lot of fans and everyone wants to see her back to her best. Other people are checking it out to see if it's a car crash but loving it so much they are watching it again and again.

"This should definitely help her win back her pop princess crown back after a difficult time."

There was some bad news for the singer however earlier this week. At a Los Angeles court she was told she would have to stand trial for driving without a valid licence. Her lawyers had hoped to have the charges reduced.

Britney’s is just beginning.

So, now Britney Spears must reintroduce herself to the world, her fans, and to her critics. Her new music video for “Womanizer” embodies new Britney 3.0, post her “issues.” She’s starting new. She’s no longer the girl finding her way into adulthood, she’s a woman finding her place in the world. Lynne Spears said she hopes that Britney will find her purpose in life. I believe she’s already found it. Because Britney Spears’ purpose is to entertain.

The best part is, it feels like her entertainment (music, videos, dancing) is finally being the source of the entertainment. Not her life, not Adnan, not any of that stuff.

What the h*ll was she thinking? She wasn’t thinking. But now, her management is. And more importantly, Britney Spears is thinking. We all know what happened last time Britney set off to conquer the music industry. So I think everybody should look out.

Anyway…Womanizer.

I've been on this side of celebrity for so long that I've got to see some really messed up things. She can't go to a fucking McDonald's without a mean, shitty blog written about her.

And ten years of it, every move.

No doubt you have to be strong to survive this business. But at the end of the day, she's still a girl. Dickheads.

I genuinely like her. She has a good southern laugh. I think she's a good person in a fucked up world. I've worked with bad people. She's not one of them. Not by a long shot.

So I really wanted Womanizer's video to be good.

I literally could not find anytime to sleep this last week. I got six hours in four days. If I had slept more than that, the video would have suffered.

Turned it in for broadcast. Went to work on other projects. Went home, watched the premiere, checked for reactions.

They love Britney again.

I don't know if it was because I was punch drunk tired, but I almost cried.
