NO wonder she’s been hitting the weights.
BRITNEY SPEARS will play a gut-busting two-week stint at London’s O2 Arena next summer.
And the June gigs will see her throw her cowboy hat into the ring in one of the biggest months in British live music history.
OASIS and TAKE THAT will be playing huge stadium gigs, COLDPLAY are planning to perform at Knebworth that month and U2 are also expected on the road.
Meanwhile, Glastonbury chief MICHAEL EAVIS — whose festival normally rules the June schedule — must be getting a little hot under his wax jacket collar.
Britney will join PRINCE and the SPICE GIRLS as acts who have had an O2 residency.
It will be the icing on the low-cal cake for Brit, who has really turned her life around and got in shape - as you can see in the stunning artwork from her new LP, Circus.
A source revealed: “It will be fantastic for Britney and great for her fans in the UK that so many of them will see her in action.
“She really looks like she will be on top of her game. Her fitness and state-of-mind are improving all the time.”
Britney’s comeback single Womanizer is out on Monday — D-Day for pop divas as LEONA LEWIS, CHRISTINA AGUILERA and BEYONCE are also releasing tunes on the same day.
Britney last played the UK on The Onyx Hotel Tour in spring 2004.
Since then she has married and divorced KEVIN FEDERLINE, had two kids, lost custody and won back visitation rights.
She has shaved her hair off, grown it back and attacked a car with an umbrella.
Britney gave a zombie-like car crash performance of hit Gimme More at the MTV VMAs in 2007.
Then she regained her previously smashed-to-pieces Pop Princess crown when she won three gongs at the same bash the following year.
Now I think about it, it’s quite a long time until June.
