Jamie Pulls The Plug On Woofy

The NYpost is now reporting that Britney and Claus may have to hold off on the designing front: "Jamie had worked out a deal with Danish entrepreneur Claus Hjelmbak where she would endorse a line of shabby-chic Scandinavian furniture - specifically, creating a piece called a "Woofy." A spy said, "It was a plastic dog that retails for over $200 and hides electrical wires in your home. Britney wanted to do a pink-and-blue Woofy."
Jamie pulled the plug on the project because he didn't feel "comfortable" with Claus "using" Britney for publicity for the product. Talk about bi-polar...

SPEARS' MANAGER: 'BRITNEY NOT COMING TO VEGAS SHOW'

Troubled star BRITNEY SPEARS' former manager LARRY RUDOLPH has refuted reports the singer is in secret negotiations to stage a major comeback spectacular in Las Vegas.
Rumours of a Sin City performance emerged earlier this month (May08), after the pop star was spotted dining with Palms Hotel + Casino owner George Maloof Jr. in Los Angeles.
But Rudolph has denied claims the Toxic hitmaker will be appearing on stage in the Nevada city.He tells the Las Vegas Review Journal, "She's not here (in Las Vegas) and she's not coming in. I wouldn't lie to you."

Britney Sees Her Boys
Britney's Condition Still "Tenuous," Court Says

Britney Spears is still not ready for prime time.
The Los Angeles court commissioner overseeing the "Gimme More" singer's conservatorship case deemed Spears' condition "too tenuous" for her to take care of her own business just yet.
The comments by Commissioner Reva Goetz came during a hearing today skipped by both Spears and father Jamie, who is still overseeing his daughter's estate.
Instead, lawyers spent about 90 minutes meeting in the Goetz's chambers.
Afterward, the commissioner said, "It's my understanding that her condition is somewhat tenuous. Her medical condition remains the same."
Spears' court-appointed probate attorney, Samuel Ingham, agreed, telling the court that allowing Spears to contribute actively would be detrimental to her health.
"In fact it could be harmful to her to participate," he said.
Goetz decided she needed more information on Spears' diagnosis before deciding to appoint a more permanent conservator for Spears or whether to dissolve the conservatorship entirely.
"Though there have been changes in her medication...the diagnosis is not complete," said Goetz, adding that Spears' doctor "wants to do additional testing in the not too distant future."
"Without the diagnosis, the timing of the remaining proceedings is something we need to address."
Goetz recommended the court get an update on June 17 in advance of the July 31 hearing, when Goetz is due to make a final deicison about the future of Spears' conservatorship.

Spears Still Can't 'Meaningfully' Take Part in Legal Matters

Four months after her forced stay at a psychiatric facility, Britney Spears is still unable to participate "in any meaningful way" in legal proceedings and may need further tests, a court commissioner presiding over Spears's conservatorship said Thursday.
Spears's doctor has made a "differential diagnosis" and "wants to do additional testing in the not-too-distant future – something we will need to address in June," L.A. Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz said in court after a private, 90-minute discussion with lawyers.
For now, Spears can't take part in the "litigation process or in discovery proceedings," Goetz said.
Attorneys did not reveal what was discussed in chambers. No Spears family members were present at the hearing, and Goetz made no rulings in open court other than to say that she is expecting a business plan for Spears to be filed by attorneys by June 13.
Spears's affairs are being handled by her father, Jamie, and attorney Andrew Wallet.

Brit's Medical Condition "Somewhat Tenuous"

Britney Spears has made seemingly great strides in the last several months, staying under the radar, winning back her visitation with her sons and even appearing twice on the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother.
However, after another long afternoon in an L.A. courtroom, during which the 26-year old singer's medical and pyschological condition were reviewed in length, the commissioner ruled that Britney's health continues to be "somewhat tenuous" and that she is still incapable of making decisions for herself.
Neither Brit nor her father Jamie Spears were present at Thursday's hearing, although commissioner Goetz approved a request for Jamie to receive more money per week in order to continue caring for Britney.
The singer's court-appointed attorney Sam Ingham told the court today he believed it was better that Britney not participate in the legal affairs of her person and estate, adding it "in fact could be harmful to her to participate."
After reviewing her medical status, the commissioner agreed, saying, "Her medical condition remains the same. Though there have been changes in her medication, I think in terms of her diagnosis, it's not complete."
The commissioner will review Brit's condition again on June 17. In the meantime, a trial is set for July 31 to determine whether to dissolve or extend the conservatorship.

Brit Back on the Box

TMZ has learned Britney Spears took a meeting yesterday with a big-time producer and may be headed to the small screen in a starring role.
Sources say Britney and her team met with Roy Bank, President of Merv Griffin Entertainment, and discussed several TV projects in which Brit would star and possibly produce. We're told one of the projects is a music show.
Makes sense to pair Brit up with Bank -- they're both repped by the William Morris Agency, which packages tons of TV shows. It was, we're told, a "serious" meeting.
The ball is now in her court, but she's definitely interested in the whole TV thing.

Britney Headed to Broadway?

Britney is headed to the big apple y'all! Word on the block (on Broadway Blvd actually) is that Brit is in talks to play Sandy in the stage version of "Grease."
A source tells British newspaper Metro, "The producers were bouncing around the idea of casting Britney in the role of Sandy. "They're recasting the roles in July and they thought that Britney looked like a Sandy.
She would be terrific."
A few years back, when Brit was still married to K-Fed, she was asked to do a Broadway show. But after charging up $25,000 in travel expenses to the show, she decided against it. At the time she said she didn't want to move to NYC because of her two boys. Wonder if she feels different about the move this time around? It sounds like a great career move though--if she can pull it off.

Britney's Life in "Jeopardy"?
The following italicized article is from www.tmz.com:
Before her daily workout, Britney spent time actually working yesterday -- taking a business meeting at Merv Griffin Entertainment.
Though she was likely meeting with someone in the music publishing department, we'd rather see her hop on one of Merv's game shows -- could you imagine Brit on "Wheel of Fortune"? I'd like to buy a vowel, y'all!

Will Britney Show in Court Today?

While there can be no doubt that Britney Spears has managed to make a remarkable transformation since being ordered by the court to cede all financial and personal decision-making to a conservatorship run by her father, Jamie Spears. But if she wants to make the leap toward getting her independence back, the pop star is going to have to prove herself to the judge.
Brit may have a chance to do just that on Thursday, when her father and lawyers for the conservatorship are due in court to discuss, amond other things, whether or not the mother of two is ready to get back some control over her life.
"It's a lot like the last time she was in court for the custody hearings," a case insider explains to OK!. "In that case, she had been evaluated by the court to judge her parenting skills. This time, it's about her being able to care for herself."
And though Brit is not legally required to be there for this latest hearing, her presence would be in her best interest. "If she wants more freedoms, she'll be there," says the source. "It's highly unlikely Judge Goetz would sign off on changes to the conservatorship order without being able to look Britney in the eye."
So will she show or won't she? We'll have to wait until 1:30pm PT to find out.

Brit's Private Mommy Moments

It's hard to believe that just five months ago, Britney Spears shocked the world by holing up inside her home with her youngest son Jayden James while the authorities attempted to return the one-year-old child to the custody of his father, Kevin Federline.
But on May 26, it was not only a completely different scene but a different Britney who snuggled and played with her sons Sean Preston,2, and Jayden,21 months, as the little family rang in the Memorial Day holiday at her Studio City, Calif., home.
"Sean Preston wouldn't let go of Britney," an eyewitness tells OK!. "He didn't want to leave her side. Every time she tried to put him down, he would clinch himself closer to her." At one point, the toddler hit his hand, and ran to his mother for comfort. "Sean started crying, and then he was resting his head on Britney's shoulder."
Friends say Britney has finally accepted the help she needs to get better, taking her court-mandated parenting classes seriously and even reading self-help books — most recently Jack Canfield's Key to Living the Law of Attraction: A Simple Guide to Creating the Life of Your Dreams.
Pals of the singer say it's this commitment to recovery that is finally allowing Britney to become the mother she always meant to be.
"Her biggest regret is losing her boys, and now's the time to put that right," a source tells OK!. Her efforts seem to be working. On May 6, she was finally awarded more time during her visitation--a boost from 9 hours a week to 27.
Brit seems to have straightened her love life out as well. Gone are the bad-boys she used to romance. In their place — Jason Trawick, Brit's agent at William Morris and an all-around regular guy — thoughtful, intelligent and completely uninterested in sharing the spotlight.
And the best part — Britney's dad and conservator, Jamie Spears, loves the match!
"There's no doubt that Jamie, approves of Jason — and why wouldn't he?" the agent's friend tells OK!. "Jason would never take advantage of Britney. I'm glad that she's finally found a good guy who isn't interested in her fame or her fortune."
