Ashley Tisdale thinks Britney Spears is "amazing".

The 'High School Musical' star - who plays Sharpay Evans in the Disney movie franchise - doesn't mind the comparisons between herself and Britney because she admires the troubled singer as an artist.

Ashley, who started out in the industry aged three appearing in TV commercials, said: "I think Britney is an amazing artist and would never put her down. "

She is amazing at what she does, but to be in the spotlight like that at 16 is hard. I mean, I'm 23 and I'm dealing with it and it's overwhelming."

Britney Spears is expected to perform at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Liverpool next month.

The singer, who releases her new album ‘Circus' on December 2nd, is nominated for Best Act Ever at the ceremony on November 6th.

An appearance would cap a phenomenal end to the year for Spears who last month won three prizes at the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles.

Speaking to the Mirror, a source said: "Given Britney's comeback there would be no one better to attend the awards."

Britney Spears Takes Her Sons Pumpkin Picking

Britney Spears, after picking up her sons from pre-school, took her children Sean Preston and Jayden James for an afternoon of fun at the Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch in Beverly Hills, CA yesterday to enjoy some family fun together. You may recall that Mr. Bones is ground zero for Hollywood celebs and their children to pick out their annual Halloween pumpkins and yesterday Brit Brit and her boys got in on the action. Here are a few pics of their visit yesterday, including one photo that was posted on Brit’s official website:

Britney tells us that the boys jumped on the “jumpin pumpkin” trampoline while she watched and laughed from the doorway. They all had a blast! Of course the paps were everywhere, including one who was hiding in a tree (he looks a lot like the big rabbit on the pumpkin next to him!). Awww … so cute! I am really diggin’ these regular updates and photo exclusives from BritneySpears.com. I must admit, I didn’t really believe their claim that they would be offering insider updates on a regular basis because the same promises were made by previous official Britney websites with updates being released very few and far between. Since BritneySpears.com went online last week, we’ve already been treated to some great info (like news that she would be appearing on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine and has begun work on a new dance routine for an as-yet unknown live performance or music video) and it looks like the updates will continue to come. Some might scoff that Britney is offering so much insider info (when she should be staying as private as possible) but it appears that she is well aware that her every move is chronicled anyway, so she might as well have control over of how some of the info is released to the public. She just keeps on, keepin’ on … and I’m glad that we’re allowed to be along for the ride.

Britney's Trial Victory a 'Turnaround' for Singer

Britney Spears's victory in her misdemeanor driving-without-a-license trial this week "closes a chapter on her past troubles," her lawyer Michael Flanagan tells PEOPLE.

"It marks a turnaround for her. This case was a thorn in her side for more than a year, a reminder of the bad old days," he said. "She's thrilled the court system, for once, worked in her favor."

The trial – which heard only one day of witness testimony – failed to convince a jury that Spears broke the law by driving without a California license, stemming from a 2007 fender-bender. It ended Tuesday in a hung jury, 10-2 in favor of her innocence, and a dismissal of the case.

Said jury foreman Gary Moy, 45, "There were lots of questions about lack of evidence, whether Spears had a Louisiana license or not, what the definition of residency was. We felt we were never given all the facts in the case."

Spears's father, Jamie, provided key testimony that his daughter had a Louisiana license on the day in question, and that she considers that state her permanent home.

Father's Guidance

Following her two forced hospitalizations last January, the singer remains under legal control of her father until a Dec. 31 hearing.

"Her father is doing a sensational job for her," Flanagan says. "And with his guidance, she's really gotten her life together."

Her exoneration tops a growing list of personal victories: Spears has gained significant visitation with her sons after losing all custody earlier this year, won three VMA awards in September, and has a new album, Circus, due out on Dec. 22 (her 27th birthday).

Spears Was 'Too Fragile' For Court

BRITNEY SPEARS was too "fragile" to appear in front of jurors deciding her fate in her recent driving license trial, according to her defence lawyer.

The Toxic star was charged with failure to produce a valid California license following a car crash in the state last year (07), but the case was declared a mistrial on Tuesday (21Oct08) after a jury failed to reach a unanimous decision.

The judge was forced to dismiss any criminal charges against the singer as jurors deadlocked - with two members voting guilty, and 10 not guilty.But despite the relative victory, Spears' lawyer Michael Flanagan has revealed how the star pleaded with him to excuse her from making a court appearance - and insists she wasn't "strong" enough to cope with the pressure.

Flanagan recalls how Spears told him: "I can't face all those people. I don't want to deal with all the people."

He adds, "She is not very strong. She is still very fragile. I had to explain things to her."

The comments come as the star embarks on a campaign to revive her career and put her January (08) public meltdown behind her.

Spears' new album, Circus, is due for release in December (08) and a world tour scheduled for March (09).

"Womanizer" Moves To #4 On Billboard Hot 100

''Womanizer" has moved from the number one spot on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, and slid down to 4th, with T.I.'s "Whatever You Like" taking the number one spot.

T.I.'s other song featuring Rihanna, "Live Your Life," moved up one position to 2nd from 3rd. Pink's "So What" also scooted up one position to 3rd from 4th, followed by Britney's "Womanizer" coming in at #4.

Make "Womanizer" Video #1 On TRL

The "Womanizer" music video premiered on TRL this afternoon. I made the conscious decision not to post a heads up for fans to tune in cause I'm kind of over TRL. Despite my unexplainable bitterness towards TRL, I tuned in anyway to catch "Womanizer," and it brought me back to my teeny-bop days in the late 90s when my walls were covered with lame bands and superheroes. Shutup, I was ten years old a decade ago - it's acceptable. Alriiiiiight you caught me; I still have a superhero poster hanging up.

After a few BreatheHeavy readers' suggestions and a Venti iced mocha frappuccino from Starbucks, I decided to move forward and spread the word that Britney's newest music video is on the TRL countdown. I couldn't sit through the whole show to see who was #1, but I know it wasn't Britney. The imaginary lightbulb on my head just lit up, I wish you could see...

Britney really only knows one number: number one. Let's get Britney's "Womanizer" in the top spot at least once before the show ends. In fact, let's do our best to get it to #1 on TRL's last day of taping in mid-November.

According to TRL's executive producer Dave Sirulnick, the last episode of TRL will be a 2 hour special with lots of suprises and special appearances: "We want to close this era of 'TRL' in a big celebratory way, and 10 is a great number. And 10 is the number that 'TRL' counted down every single day for 10 years, and we hit this 10th (anniversary) and we thought, 'You know what? This feels like the right time and let's celebrate it and let's reward it. And let's let it have a little bit of a rest for a minute.' Let it catch its breath! Been working hard - for 10 years!"

What better way for TRL to close by having its biggest star round out the last top 10. Or better yet, for Britney to appear?
