Britney Spears's father has been seeking permission from a judge to expand the pop star's current Circus tour – but the dour economy may hamper those plans, it was revealed in a Los Angeles courtroom Tuesday.

The pop star, 27, is halfway into a 49-show tour through the U.S., Canada and the UK, with hopes to add more dates through Europe, Australia and a possible second U.S. tour.

"It hasn't yet been determined whether it's feasible to expand tours to the Europe or Australia legs," L.A. Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz said following a closed-door discussion with Jamie and his lawyers.

"That will be determined in the future after everyone's seen the analysis, in terms of the economy and value of the dollar," Goetz added.

Jamie and another lawyer hold indefinite legal control over his daughter following her two forced hospitalizations last year.

"Britney's loving being onstage again," says a source close to the singer. "Health-wise, she's progressing every week, it's amazing. Britney was the single force for wanting to go on tour in the first place."

The couple only shaved a section of their locks off, which makes us wonder if they'll complete the pre-conservator Brit look later, just to even things out.

Circus Coming to Court? Lawyer Wants Britney to Testify

Britney Spears could be forced back into the legal zone.

Jon Eardley, who once tried to break Spears out of her father-controlled conservatorship supposedly at her behest, has asked a judge to require the songbird to take a time-out from her Circus tour and testify in court. Eardley is currently the target of a restraining order filed by the conservatorship.

Per court documents obtained by E! News, Eardley says that with the "Blackout" singer performing at L.A.'s Staples Center this Thursday and Friday, she should be required to show up and testify on the validity of her allegations against him.

"If Britney Spears is well enough to put on two concerts in Los Angeles she is certainly well enough to attend a trial where attorneys on her behalf have falsely accused Jon Eardley of harassment and elder abuse," the petition states.

Specifically, the attorney is demanding Spears address two issues: whether or not she authorized him to take legal action to block the conservatorship, and whether he caused her "substantial emotional distress."

Should the Britser not be able to show up for any reason, Eardley is seeking an order forcing her to submit to an oral deposition "at a location of her choosing" to answer questions pertaining to those two points.

If the Oops! girl's unable to make herself available in any way but is willing to stipulate that she did not suffer substantial emotional distress due to Eardley's conduct, court papers said he'd withdraw his subpoena.

Team Spears has previously claimed that after her onetime manager Sam Lutfi brought Eardley in to act as her counsel, she never knew the legal eagle nor acknowledged him working for her.

Britney Spears will be appearing in a Los Angeles arena and, if a certain lawyer has it his way, an L.A. County courtroom.

Jon Eardley, Esq., the lawyer who claims Britney hired him to torpedo her conservatorship, has just filed legal papers demanding that Brit appear at a trial in which Eardley has been accused of harassing Britney and her family.

In his legal papers, Eardley notes that Britney will be performing at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on April 16 and 17. He says if she's well enough to perform, she's well enough to testify on two points -- did she authorize Eardley to take legal action on her behalf and did Eardley really cause her "substantial emotional distress."

The judge will have to decide if Britney is competent enough to testify and if it's fair to drag her into court. It would certainly be entertaining.

Britney Spears' Fans Cause Highway Stir In Cottonwood

Britney Spears’ tour bus passed through the north state on Interstate 5 this morning, and even just passing through, the pop star’s presence caused a stir with her fans.

So much so, that a motorist called 911 around 9:40 a.m. to report her entourage was being harassed by three people in a car, said Kurt Heuer, a spokesman for the California Highway Patrol.

The tour bus reportedly was heading southbound near Bowman Road in the Cottonwood area, when it was approached by three young women or girls who tried to get the 27-year-old singer’s attention.

“Apparently it was just some people who wanted to say hi to Britney, if it was even her,” Heuer said.

The tour bus didn’t stop, so it’s unknown if Spears was even on the bus, Heuer said.

Spears performed on Wednesday in Vancouver, Canada and has a performance scheduled at ARCO Arena in Sacramento on Saturday night, according to her Web site publicizing her current tour called “The Circus.”

Heuer said Spears’ fans weren’t cited, but officers warned them to leave her alone.

The Circus Burns The House Down In Tacoma

Tacoma Dome Ready For Britney

The deputy director of the Tacoma Dome expects there will be no repeat Thursday of the smoke problem that interrupted the Britney Spears concert in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Rob Henson says smoking is not allowed inside the dome and air handlers and the ventilation system have been able to handle concerts that use pyrotechnics.

There was a 30-minute interruption in Spears' show Wednesday at GM Place in Vancouver because crew members above the stage became ill due to a ventilation issue.

The Tacoma Dome has sold out more than 21,000 seats for its stop on the "Circus" tour.

Britney Spears Walks Off Stage During Concert

The show didn't go on in Vancouver Wednesday night after Britney Spears pulled the plug on her sold-out Circus concert 15 minutes and three songs into her performance – departing the stage and leaving the audience in the GM Place in the dark for more than half an hour. Boos ensued.

Cigarette smoke from the crowd was blamed, with a female voice announcing to the crowd, "The building is awfully smoky. It is uncomfortable for everyone on stage, including Ms. Spears. Please extinguish all cigarettes – this is a non-smoking building, and the show will resume when the smoke on the stage is cleared," the Vancouver Sun reports.

Until the agitated crowd settled down, GM Place was filled with piped-in intermission music played at hockey games – which, one concertgoer told PEOPLE, left the fans "really pissed off. The break in the concert ruined it for everyone. The vibe was gone."

When she did return, Spears, 27, delivered a well-received Bollywood take on "Me Against the Music," followed by "Everytime" – during which she asked the crowd "What's up, Vancouver?" before she again left the stage, some 90 seconds before the end of the song.

The concert concluded with Spears singing "Womanizer" and advising the still-restless crowd, "Vancouver, don't smoke weed." Her sign-off was also peppered with a couple of X-rated expletives and a warning to "drive safe."

After the show, a statement was posted on the singer's Web site: "We want to apologize to all the fans who attended our Vancouver show tonight for the brief pause in Britney's set. Crew members above the stage became ill due to a ventilation issue."

Spears kicked off her Circus tour of the North America and England in New Orleans on March 3. Her father and attorneys are exploring the possibility of expanding the tour, says AP.
