So fun being a Candie's Girl! Look out for the @Candiesbrand pics of their new girl, Vanessa Hudgens! – Brit

Congratulations are in order for our dear Britney Spears and her first-ever clothing line called Britney for Candie’s because early indications are that the line is selling very well, especially in the sea of other celebrity-branded clothing lines. When compared to clothing lines put out by Miley Cyrus, Lindsay Lohan and even Madonna, Britney for Candie’s is one of the huge successes:
Britney Spears, once merely “the face” of Candies, is designer and inspiration for the new Britney for Candies line introduced in July and sold exclusively at Kohl’s. The tweens-and-up collection of sassy separates and dresses ranging from $14 to $78 is reportedly flying off the racks. Brit has a hit. According to Lainie List, the executive vice president of merchandising for the Iconix Brand Group, which owns the brand, the collection mirrors the pop star’s own personal style. “She’s not always done up,” says List, adding that customers are particularly responding to “clothes we see her wear a lot,” such as a super-short dress over leggings or tights, short shorts and a top of layered ruffles. “There’s a California chic girliness that she’s known for,” List says. As for sales? “Fantastic.”
The article goes on to talk about the other fashion lines but I’m most interested in this bit about Britney‘s success. I’m constantly wowed and impressed by the new feats that our dear Britney Spears achieves. The girl has worked so hard for so many years that not even her personal failings can keep her down for long … the immense love her fans have for her have kept her afloat long enough thru the darkest times in her life that she has managed to come out for the better on the other side. Britney puts out a single, it goes straight to number one. Britney goes on tour, it immediately sells out … forces new tourdates to be added. Britney puts out a clothing line, it flies off the shelves. Despite all the negativity from haters, Britney continues to succeed. I cannot wait for her to move on to her next endeavor (hopefully, a new album). There is still much success to be enjoyed by Ms. Britney Spears.Source: Pink Is The New Blog
The following italicized article is from www.forbes.com:When Britney Spears popped up at no. 6 on our Celebrity 100 list, we too thought it must be some sort of technical glitch in the number crunching process. What else could explain the placement of the former head-shaving, umbrella-swinging, rehab-visiting pop-tart near the top of a list of the world’s most powerful stars? Could this one-time train wreck really be that rich or that important to the entertainment business?
The answer is yes. The Britney Spears who made our list was not the tabloid target whose frequent meltdowns only two years ago relegated her to our infamy index. Instead, the 28-year-old that clocked in in our top 10 was the chart-topping songstress whose past 12 months included the 5th highest-grossing tour of the year. According to concert trade publication Pollstar, "The Circus Starring Britney Spears" tour grossed more than $130 million. Spears took in still more from tour merchandise and another greatest hits album, "The Singles Collection."
Like her savvier Hollywood cohorts, she has been similarly busy building the Spears brand, extending her fan-base –and wallet—with a host of top-selling Elizabeth Arden fragrances, an endorsement deal for Candie’s and a fashion collection for juniors. She added the latter last month, and will sell her designs exclusively at Kohl’s.
But for her to land as high on the list as she did, she needed to garner as much fame as she did money. She did. In fact, the mother of two ranked third overall in Web mentions (behind Lady Gaga and Beyonce, who banked an estimated $62 million and $87 million, respectively, during the same period) and second in a social media metric that factored in both Twitter and Facebook followings (Gaga has her beat with nearly 10 million Facebook fans).
Still more impressive: in May, Spears overtook Twitter king Ashton Kutcher as the most popular celebrity on Twitter. At last check, she had 5.2 million followers, a group with whom she responds to and frequently updates.
So no, Britney Spears is far from through. If the last year is any indication, she's just getting started.Source: Forbes
The following italicized article is from www.news.instyle.com:After spending three seasons as the face of Candie’s, Britney Spears has stepped into a new role: designer. She’s co-created her own line of clothing and accessories for the brand. We sat down with Spears to discuss the new collection, her personal style, and her favorite pieces from the collection.
InStyle.com: How involved were you in the design process?
Britney Spears: First, I met with the Candie’s designers and told them what my favorite styles are. Then, we sketched the items together. I loved it when I saw the samples for the first time.
InStyle.com: So, it was love at first sight. Do you have a favorite item from the collection?
Britney Spears: I love the black trench coat. You can wear it over your outfit or as a dress. There’s also an amazing studded skirt that’s perfect for going out.
InStyle.com: Studs are still a big trend. Were there any other trends you wanted to incorporate?
Britney Spears: I used a lot of studs and lace, because I wanted to make the clothes cool and edgy yet girly. I also love jeans, so I had to make sure there were some great pairs in the collection. And I love jewelry so there are a lot of fun pieces. There are great necklaces and big earrings.
InStyle.com: How do you describe your own personal style?
Britney Spears: My personal style is mix of comfortable and flirty. I love cute little dresses but I also love comfy sweaters and jeans.
InStyle.com: You recently announced on Twitter that the collection would be a limited edition. When will the clothing hit stores?
Britney Spears: The collection will be exclusively available in Kohl’s starting July 1st. There will be a few more pieces coming in September and October, and that’s it.
InStyle.com: Is there anything you can tell us about the Fall ad campaign?
Britney Spears: Look out for some notes written by me!Source: In Style

Not long ago, most of the entertainment world had written Britney Spears off as a celebrity flameout. But over the last year Spears logged the fifth highest-grossing tour in the world, bringing in $130 million in gross box office receipts by playing 98 dates. High-profile endorsement deals with Elizabeth Arden and Candies' prove that the public expects Spears to stay in the spotlight for good.Source: Forbes
A picture of Britney's upcomming Candie's add leaked!
Earlier today we saw a photo of Britney Spears with her manager Larry Rudolph on the SoCal set of the new commercial she is working on for Candie’s. Here are a few more photos of Britney lookin’ totally faboo yesterday afternoon on that Candie’s commercial set:
That’s my girl, she always cleans up nicely. I’m not certain but I believe this shoot was for a video commercial but I wouldn’t be surprised if we also got to see promo photos as well. Candie’s chose well when they decided to hire Britney Spears to promote their clothing and accessories for two years in a row. I can’t wait to see what they come up with together for this new phase of the campaign.Source: Pink Is The New Blog

The following italicized article is from www.eonline.com: We all know images of our favorite celebrities are manipulated beyond belief, (which always makes seeing the unretouched version pretty satisfying). So, behold: Britney Spears before the Candie's Photoshoppers made her look absolutely perfect.
According to the Daily Mail, Brit released the images herself in an "extraordinary move to highlight the pressure exerted on women to look perfect." While that sounds like something Brit's BS Alerts might refute if it weren't so nice-sounding, the splits still have that effect.
Britney's legs, waist and butt are all rendered slimmer—even though she's looking pretty good in the before shots. Surprising? Not so much, but nice to know anyway!Source: E! Online
