Britney's Out Interview & Photoshoot

There are few things our culture has come to relish more than fattening up a pop star on a greasy diet of hype and frenzied devotion, only to then turn around and eat her alive an album or two later. It’s become a national pastime we practice in the less savory corners of the Internet or while unloading our Aquafresh and baked Cheetos onto the check-out line conveyor belt. Nobody knows this better than Britney Spears.

Ever since she snarled onto the scene in her Catholic school girl uniform in 1999, Spears has been the go-to girl whenever the world is looking for a punch line or a punching bag. At first it was "her music has no substance" or "she’s lip synching" and then there were the darker, more troubling episodes in her life to mine for material. But we have a confession to make: We love Britney.

We love her because she gives us the kind of pop music we demand for our workouts and woozy weekend nights, and because she has never tried to play the guitar or wandered off to make a country album. We love her because she’s a survivor, and for all of the shit that’s said about her, she still glides to the top of the charts whenever she releases an album. We love her because she has a "BS Alert" on her website to squash the almost daily rumors of new pregnancies, marriages, or demands to someday be cryogenically frozen. We love her because even the Super Bowl’s rabid, testosterone-drunk fans couldn’t keep her from being the top trending item on Twitter on the biggest sports Sunday of the year. We love her because she loves strawberry Frappuccinos and grits blanketed in Velveeta cheese. We love her because in 2010 she raked in more money than Lady Gaga even though her latest album, Circus, was already well over a year old. We love her because for all the pythons and pyrotechnics and red vinyl cat suits, she still feels like someone we could dish with about boys over a basket of bread sticks at the Olive Garden. We love her because she keeps us dancing, she keeps us guessing, and while the other famous former Mouseketeers have dried up, bombed out, or otherwise failed to keep our interest, Britney still has us coming back for more.

On the eve of the release of her seventh studio album, Femme Fatale, we fired Britney a slew of questions ranging from the candid to the ridiculous to find out a little bit more about the woman the world is mistakenly convinced it already has all figured out.

For the first time in Out's history, we're dedicating our entire April issue to the women who inspire, scandalize, educate, and excite us -- in a different way than they excite the other boys. Britney Spears & Kevin Federline's Little League Reunion

The following italicized article is from www.celebrity-gossip.net:

Not letting their failed marriage get in the way of supporting their children, Britney Spears and Kevin Federline both were on-hand for a Little League game in Calabasas CA on Sunday (March 6).

The "Hold It Against Me" singer was joined by current beau Jason Trawick and son Jayden James in cheering on Sean Preston during the kiddie baseball matchup.

Meanwhile, Kevin also partook in the Little League festivities as one of the coaches of Sean Preston's team while joined for the weekend ending ballgame by girlfriend Victoria Prince.

During the course of the day at the ballpark, Miss Prince ended up bringing her and Kevin's newborn over to Britney and Jason - with the pair cooing over the precious bundle of joy.

Britney Spears' Sober Tour Plans

The following italicized article is from www.mirror.co.uk:

Britney Spears' management team is taking no chances when it comes to keeping her on the straight and narrow on her world tour.

In addition to the usual bullet-proof confidentiality agreements, I hear all staff are being asked to sign a contract promising not to drink, do drugs or party.

My source in the Britney camp reveals: “They all have to be sober because Britney doesn’t want to be around anyone who’s drinking alcohol, it’s just too tempting for her. People are lining up around the block to work with her on this tour – so everyone is agreeing to it.”

It is the former party girl’s first tour in two years and will feature material from her new album Femme Fatale.

Ryan Seacrest Interviews Britney

Ke$ha Talks Writing Britney Spears' 'Till The World Ends'

The following italicized article is from www.mtv.com:

Britney Spears' new single, "Till the World Ends" is dance-floor ready — just ask Ke$ha. The pop star in her own right wrote the just-released track, which was produced by Dr. Luke and Max Martin.

"I consider myself a songwriter before and above everything else, so it's an honor to write for one of pop music's biggest icons. And I hope it gets everyone's ass on the dance floor cuz y'all know that's what K-Monay does best!" the singer said in an exclusive statement to MTV News.

The single was posted by Perez Hilton on Thursday afternoon (March 3), after speculation earlier in the day that it would hit radio next week.

"Till the World Ends" is a swirling, "beat the beat" track, ready for late nights spent "dancing till the world ends" as she sings on the fast-paced party jam. "This kitten got your tongue tied in knots I see/ Spit it out 'cause I'm dying for company," a confident Spears purrs.

Later in the song, she sings: "See the sunlight/ We ain't stopping/ Keep on dancing till the world ends/ If you feel it/ Let it happen/ Keep on dancing till the world ends."

Last month, Ke$ha talked with Spin.com about the song, saying it's about the power of an artist performing a great gig. "That song is me imagining her and any female musician touring the world," she said. "You know, when you go out, and you're having an amazing, magical night and you don't want to go to sleep and you want it to last until the world ends."

This new track is the latest single from Spears' forthcoming Femme Fatale, which drops March 29.

Penny for My Thoughts? - Final Part

So, how do I feel about Britney? It’s complicated. Don’t get me wrong, I love the girl. I find her to be a refreshing breath of air amongst all the Hollywood phonies and she has something. It’s nearly impossible to pinpoint exactly but there is something about her that just adds up and keeps everyone intrigued. Everything matches when it comes to her. She doesn’t have the best voice, she’s not the best dancer there is nor is she this perfect being that’s nice to everyone. However, add that all up and it clicks. By being flawed she’s flawless.

That being said, I obviously have my own thoughts about the current situation. Problem is that it changes. The human part of me can fully understand Britney’s need for protection or her insecurities these days. At the tender age of 29 she has been through an emotional roller coaster that almost includes more downs than ups. She probably described it best herself in ‘’For The Record’’ when she said, and I’m paraphrasing here, that she’s seen the most beautiful part of the world and at the same time the most cruelest. That’s probably the truest thing she’s ever said. On the one hand you have this powerhouse of an entertainer who never fails to get a hit song or fill an arena and on the other hand you have a very fragile and battered woman of 29.

An inevitable part of growing up is change. Our views of who Britney is are based on interviews and performances that stem from 2004 and even earlier. It’s natural that she has changed and everything that comes with that. However, in this also lies the other side of me that at times just can’t stop shaking his head at what Britney or her team is doing.

My main problem is the secrecy. I feel that people or more specifically her fans would understand her situation better if they knew what was going on. I get that Britney feels the need for privacy and I fully support her in that. However, you cannot expect public support and fans to keep buying albums when the performer is only functioning at 40% of her ability and without explanation. It needs to be said, on some sort of big scale, that she’s changed, her career is no longer her #1 priority and that while she loves what she does she has found a balance that works for her and that this is it.

That seems to be missing. Britney herself isn’t really helping the situation by on the one hand saying she’s guarded and wants privacy and on the other hand says she’s back and better than ever.

When you say that fans expect you to actually be better than ever and top your 2001 VMA performance, for instance. While this is my main problem I also see issues with the promo that’s being planned.

If it’s true that Britney herself doesn’t want to or isn’t capable to do massive promo then you’ll have to plan what you are doing very carefully. Unfortunately that’s where I see a lot of misses. One performance at the Grammy’s would have brought massive awareness to Britney and her new album. She could have rehearsed for it for weeks and then rocked the house. After that, one GMA performance would have been enough to keep buzz going on its own.

Now it’s looking more and more likely that she’s just started rehearsing for the performance and that it’ll be her only performance. Yes, she’s Britney Spears and can sell a certain amount based on her name but that won’t last forever. Every once in a while she needs to remind people why she’s considered the Queen of Pop. She’s already lasted 7 extra years on her legacy and fan base. Those alone won’t last her another 7 years.

Like I said, eventually it comes down to honesty. If there was a certain degree of interaction people would be understanding and that’s what’s missing now. One can only hope there is some televised interview in the planning which would clear some things up. Otherwise, the Britney train will, at some point, run out of steam.

I would like to end this by saying that when it comes to her music, Britney’s never disappointed me. Yes, there are things that I find questionable, such as the inclusion of Will.I.Am on ‘’Femme Fatale’’ or the duet with an unknown rapper, but overall I love where this era’s going musically and realize that it’s nearly impossible to like an entire album completely. Heck, I dislike at least one song on all her previous albums.

I also love the music video for ‘’Hold It Against Me’’ and its symbolism. In my opinion it is her 2nd best music video. Overall, I’m loving the quality of this era such as the video, the songs and the photo shoots.

However, the quantity and the timing are subject to improvement. In my opinion that is.

BTW, I'm expecting a penny from each of you.

Penny for My Thoughts? - Part 2

Today’s subject of my, of course, highly anticipated follow up to the brilliantly written part one is why I usually refrain from posting my own thoughts and comments on Britney posts. God, I sound smug and self-praising of my own work. I’m like the less manly version of Lady GaGa. Oh wait, this was supposed to be a well-mannered and clean discussion. Oops…

Let me start by stating, again, why BTI was created in the first place. BTI was and still is an answer to Britney blogs that rarely post and are very late in reporting Britney news. Say what you want but it is still one of the fastest posting blogs when it comes to Britney. BTI was never intended to be a blog that expresses how I feel about Britney and everything surrounding her. It simply exists to get unbiased Britney news to you as fast as I can.

Seeing as how I am a human being and not a robot I do have an opinion on what Britney does. I just feel that it’s not my place to put words in people’s mouths. By strictly posting what is said I am urging you to form your own opinion and then discuss it in the comments box or the C-Box. It’s usually the C-Box though because people avoid the comments box like it’s riddled with diseases.

A big part for this is because I’ve witnessed other sites, which shall not be named no matter how hard I breathe ,voicing their opinions in big, explosive ways and it affects fans. Generally speaking, negativity isn’t conducive to discussion. It just adds to this big mess of disappointment and paranoia amongst fans. Also, because Britney is such a global icon she has many fans in foreign countries who’s English isn’t very good. If they read my or anyone else’s opinion they, due to honest confusion, might mistake it as fact and judge Britney by it. Also, on a bigger scale, the negativity that is created gets associated with Britney which is unfair to her.

Another big motivator is that we don’t know Britney personally so how are we able to fully judge her actions? It’s all speculation except that is forgotten by some people. There’s nothing wrong with voicing your opinion as long as you realize that it’s an opinion. It’s the same with this 3-piece essay I’m writing now. It’s all based on my opinion and how I see Britney but by no means is it fact. It’s merely how I see things.

And to wrap it up, if you hadn’t figured it out by now through this mess of an essay that is probably severely misspelled and uses commas and exclamation points in ways that would infuriate linguistics, I’m not much of a writer. Like most males I suck at putting my words on paper. In real life I can seem (notice how I said seem) quite smart but when people talk with me on MSN they more often than not confuse me for a retarded monkey.

Anyways, if you have comments, suggestions or just need to confess a murder then leave a response in the comments box. Also, don’t forget that you can still contact me at breaktheiceblog@aol.com about becoming an updater.

Stay tuned for another badly written post somewhere tomorrow.

And yes, I’m still a gif slut…

Dr. Luke Sues Bellamy Brothers

The following italicized article is from www.tmz.com:

Britney Spears' songwriter just launched a legal counter-attack over her number 1 hit "Hold It Against Me" -- suing The Bellamy Brothers for publicly claiming the song is a rip-off.

In a federal lawsuit filed today, Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald says The Bellamy Brothers launched a "smear campaign" by claiming Brit's hit -- co-penned by Gottwald -- was just a knockoff of their 1979 song ... "If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me?"

Gottwald also claims the Brothers' attack was "a publicity stunt aimed to increase their record sales ... and to combat their dwindling relevance." Ouch.

In addition to damages for defamation ... Gottwald wants a court order stating once and for all Britney's song has nothing to do with the BB's song.

The Bellamy Bros. rep didn't immediately return a call for comment.

''Till The World Ends'' Is The 2nd Single

This will debut somewhere around March 14th.

Britney Tweets - I'm Still ROFL and LMAO

Jason and I saw "Hall Pass" last night. So Funny! jason is NEVER getting a Hall Pass! - Britney

- For those who don't know, a hall pass is like a permission slip that allows your partner to have sex with other people. At least we now know who's wearing the pants in their relationship. Go Britters!

Help Wanted

Do you own a computer? Are you an avid Britney fan? Have you always dreamed of updating about Britney news? Are you sick and tired of me asking all these questions and just want me to get to the point? Ok. Sheesh, don't be rude...I'll get to the point.

I'm looking for other Britney fans like me to help update BTI. If you sign up I will not put you to work in some basement and threaten to make you to listen to ''Bionic'' if you don't update...unless you're into that of course. Ew.

Becoming an updater is strictly for fun. You are not forced to update at specific times or dates. It's just for when you want or have an hour to yourself that you'd like to spend updating about Britney.

If you have other ideas, like maybe writing a weekly column about Britney (which we had a few years ago) you can also contact me and suggest such a thing.

Now be warned, it's a rotten job that doesn't pay anything except my gratitude which I'm pretty sure doesn't buy you iPod's in the store.

Still interested?

Contact me at breaktheiceblog@aol.com and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

P.S. - People from the US who'd like to become an updater are extremely welcome because I'm in some flop country that no one cares enough about to even correctly remember our name (It's The Netherlands, not Holland) so I'm in a completely different time zone which makes it hard to always post Britney stuff as it's happening.

P.S. 2 - I'm desperate and will hire pretty much anyone. Well, not Lindsay Lohan. That's even a too big of a risk for me.
