Don’t expect any wedding bells in the future for Jamie Lynn Spears and Casey Aldridge. Despite this week’s People magazine report that the parents-to-be are planning a summer wedding, Spears family sources tell PageSix.com that the family is vehemently opposed to the idea.
“Her dad, Jamie, does not want the wedding and neither does Britney,” a family insider tells PageSix.com. “Jamie thinks she is too young. Her mom, Lynne, is stressed out about the whole thing.”
And if Jamie Lynn, 16, and Casey, 18 — who are currently living in the Spears hometown of Kentwood, La. — do try to walk down the aisle on their own, Louisiana law may be blocking the way. The state mandates that if either party to the marriage is between the ages of 16 and 18, written parental consent is required.
Adds another insider: “This is why Lynne went back to Louisiana earlier than planned. She had wanted to stay in L.A. with Britney for a bit longer, but this situation arose with Jamie Lynn.”
