Britney Spears ‘Furious’ Her Parents Reconciled?

The following italicized article is from www.gossipcop.com:

“You’d think Britney Spears would be thrilled to see her divorced parents back together – instead she’s furious!” begins a piece in the National Enquirer.

And why is that?

According to the tab, Spears believes that her mom Lynne was “working with her father all along to manipulate her into being more cooperative – and that she did so for financial reasons.”

Huh?

“If [her dad] Jamie were no longer her conservator,” says one of the mag’s magical source, “the money would stop and Lynne and Jamie would both become dependent on Britney’s generosity for money.”

So, let’s get this straight: Spears believes her parents only got back together in order to steal her money?

Rrrright…

As opposed to being “furious,” the singer is actually “delighted.”

A source close to Spears tells Gossip Cop, “Everyone is very happy” precisely because “they’re spending time together.”

Yes, Britney is more concerned about them spending time together… than them spending her money.

Britney Spears's Divorced Parents Reconciling

The following italicized article is from www.people.com:

Britney Spears's parents, Lynne and Jamie Spears, are reconciling eight years after their divorce.

"They are back together and are doing well and happy," a source tells PEOPLE. "[They're] not remarried but back together."

The couple, who divorced in 2002, were looking friendly on Saturday at Los Angeles lounge Boudoir. Onlookers at the lounge spotted Lynne and Jamie cheering and dancing as DJ Mr. Best spun Britney's hits, like "Toxic" and "Gimme More."

"They were in a great mood together," says an onlooker. "They were laughing together – dancing and laughing [and] totally having fun."

"Lynne is a dear, sweet person," a family friend tells PEOPLE. "She deserves happiness. As her friend, my wish for her would be a happy ending."

In 2002, shortly after the breakup of her parents' 30-year marriage, Britney told PEOPLE it wasn't a bad thing.

"It's the best thing that's ever happened to my family," says Spears. "My mom and dad, bottom line, do not get along. When I was a baby, they argued."

Britney, 28, also has been doing well romantically, and is currently dating Jason Trawick, 38.

Lynne and Jamie have been back together as a couple since last summer, according to Gossip Cop, which first reported the news of their reconciliation.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline Reunite for Sons' Preschool Graduation

The following italicized article is from www.people.com:

Helping celebrate their sons' latest milestone, Britney Spears and Kevin Federline put on a united front at their boys' preschool graduation.

The pop star, who was joined by parents Jamie and Lynne Spears, and her ex-husband arrived separately at a San Fernando Valley school Thursday, but met up briefly. Preston, 4, and Jayden, 3, were later treated to McDonald's Happy Meals after the ceremony, says a source.

Spears, 28, "was very excited about her boys' graduation and she dressed them up for the festive occasion," the source says.

The exes, who tied the knot in 2004, split in late 2006 before finalizing their divorce a year later. A custody settlement reached in 2008 gave Federline, 32, sole custody of the kids while Spears, who is under the conservatorship of her father, was allowed several weekly visits.

Britney Spears is still hard at work on her planned upcoming album (which, thus far, has no release date scheduled … tho, my guess is that it will be released this Fall) as she was spotted making her way out of a recording studio here in SoCal yesterday afternoon. Britney’s mother, Lynne Spears, accompanied Brit Brit to the studio and was spotted in her company yesterday as well … behold:

Stay Away! Britney Spears Wins Again

The following italicized article is from www.nbclosangeles.com:

Britney Spears' ex-manager dropped his appeal of a judge's ruling that he must stay away from the singer until 2012, according to his appellate court attorney.

Osama "Sam" Lutfi instead will concentrate on his civil suit against the pop star and her parents, which is currently under a separate appeal, said attorney Joseph D. Schleimer.

In April 2009, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Aviva K. Bobb directed Lutfi and attorney Jon Eardley to stay at least 100 yards from the pop star, her two young sons and her homes.

Bobb's ruling extended until April 28, 2012, a temporary order she issued against both men in January 2009. Bobb has since retired from the bench.

Lawyers for Lutfi filed papers shortly thereafter with the 2nd District Court of Appeal. They maintained during the hearings before Bobb that the three-year stay-away order was too harsh a measure and there was no evidence Lutfi had caused the pop star substantial emotional distress as alleged by lawyers for her father, Jamie Spears.

Jamie Spears and attorney Andrew Wallet share co-conservatorship powers over the 28-year-old singer's estate.

Spears' father maintained Lutfi and Eardley have tried to undermine the conservatorship established by Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz in early 2008 after the singer exhibited behavior that resulted in her hospitalization at UCLA Medical Center.

Lutfi sued Spears and her parents in February 2008, alleging he was defamed in passages of a book written by the singer's mother, Lynne Spears.

Lynne Spears is appealing a judge's ruling last August which denied her motion to have the case against her dismissed on grounds it infringed on her right to free speech.

In the appeal, Lynne Spears' lawyers maintain Lutfi is "libel-proof" because his reputation allegedly was already so low before her book was published that the contents could not have damaged his image further.

Tab Claims Britney Spears’ Mom Rushed to L.A. to Save Daughter’s Relationship

The following italicized article is from www.gossipcop.com:

In a piece titled, “Britney, Jason and… Mom in the Middle,” Star magazine claims Britney Spears‘ relationship with Jason Trawick is so fragile, her mom Lynne Spears has had to rush cross-country to keep the peace between her daughter and Britney’s boyfriend.

The tab quotes a so-called “insider” as saying, “Britney is desperate to save her relationship and needs her mother’s help to keep Jason from leaving her for good.”

According to the Star, the situation between Britney and Jason has turned “volatile,” with the singer allegedly threatening to ruin her agent-boyfriend’s career should he leave her.

That’s why, says the mag, Momma Spears has moved in and is staying for a while.

Gossip Cop reached out to a source close to the Spears family, who said the Star’s depiction is “definitely not” accurate, and “all is fine.”

The source further noted that far from moving into Britney’s L.A. home, Lynne Spears has been spending time with her other daughter, Jamie Lynn, on the East Coast.

Unless you have a sodium problem, take this latest Star story with a grain of salt, like such previous pieces from the tabloid: Britney’s pregnant! Jason’s cheating! They’re planning wedding choreography! And the wedding’s off!

Britney Spears Told To Get A Full-Time Stylist

The following italicized article is from www.musicrooms.net:

Britney Spears hates spending her free time worrying about her appearance, so her mother is urging her to get a full-time stylist.

The singer is reportedly feeling stressed after she was criticised for dressing scruffily and failing to look after her long blonde hair extensions recently. The mother-of-two wants to improve her style, but doesn’t want to spend hours deciding what to wear. The star was praised for her lavish outfits during her last world tour, but since she finished her run of live shows, Britney wants to take a break and spend quality time with her two sons.

“Britney’s a low-maintenance girl and hates the fact that she’s always supposed to look like she’s stepped off a catwalk. She wears her hair up most of the time because she can’t be bothered to blow-dry it,” a source revealed. “She even moaned recently: ‘I’m on my down time now. If I don’t have stylists to make me look good I don’t know how to do it myself!’”

Britney’s mother Lynne has urged her daughter to have an image overhaul and update her wardrobe. However, the 28-year-old star is reluctant to listen to Lynne’s advice and prefers wearing comfortable clothes.

“Lynne’s told Brit she should be proud of her superstar status and stop dressing like ‘a girl from Louisiana.’ Britney says she’s never had the greatest style when left to her own devices. She likes what other people think are quite trashy clothes and doesn’t want to pretend to be someone she’s not,” the source added to Closer magazine. “Her mum knows people often joke how Britney’s clothes look thrown together, but no matter how many times they row about it, Brit refuses to listen to advice. She says how she dresses in her free time is the only thing left she can control.”

It was recently reported Britney is feeling upset because her father Jamie Spears is still co-conservator of her estate. This gives him control of the star’s personal and professional affairs and Britney is believed to be keen to regain control of her life again following her meltdown in 2008.

Mom: Britney's New Beau Would Make a "Dream" Husband

The following italicized article is from www.usmagazine.com:

After a rocky romance with paparazzo Adnan Ghalib and a devastating marriage to Kevin Federline, Britney Spears has found love with agent Jason Trawick -- and her mother, Lynne, thinks he is The One, Us Weekly reports in its latest issue (on newsstands now).

"Lynne said, 'He's the kind of man you would dream of your daughter marrying. The kids love him, and he's stable,'" a friend tells Us Weekly.

Trawick, 37, stood by Spears, 27, during her darkest moments (she was involuntarily committed twice to a psychiatric hospital in 2008 and lost custody of sons Sean, 4, and Jayden, 3, the year before).

"Most everyone else abandoned her, but Jason refused to be completely cut out of Britney's life," says a source. "He's very protective of her."

Besides his quick wit and ability to make her laugh in any situation, sources tell Us Trawick accepts Britney - drama and all.

"She has been honest with Jason about what she’s been through in a way that I don't think she's been with other people, and he always preferred to not sugarcoat the harsh reality of what happened to her," says a pal. "He tells her when she should take responsibility for her own actions."

For much more on Spears - including how she is still haunted by the effect her mental illness had on her boys, how she has repaired her once rocky relationship with her mother and how Trawick has already began acting as "dad" to the singer's sons - pick up the new Us Weekly today!

Judge Puts Lawsuit Against Britney Spears and Parents On Hold

The following italicized article is from www.dailynews.com:

judge has put a hold on a lawsuit by Britney Spears' former self-professed manager against the pop star and her parents pending the outcome of an appeal of an earlier ruling in the case by the singer's mother.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Zaven V. Sinanian issued his order Thursday, nearly two months after he declined to grant Lynne Spears' motion to be taken out of the case filed by Osama "Sam" Lutfi. Lutfi alleges she made false statements in a tell-all book.

Sinanian also ordered all parties to try to resolve the case in mediation. He set a status conference for March 8.

Lutfi's lawyer, Bryan J. Freedman, downplayed the delay in the case.

"The stay was agreed upon to allow time for Lynne Spears' appeal of her loss of her motion to strike Lutfi's lawsuit," Freedman said. "I fully expect that after she loses her appeal she will understand the reality that the only issue left will be how much the damage award against her will be."

In his 13-page ruling handed down in July, Sinanian found that lawyers for Lutfi had established a "prima facie claim for defamation, assuming the statements were made falsely" by the pop star's mother, Lynne Spears.

Lutfi's suit maintains that Lynne Spears' book, "Through the Storm, A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World," contains false information, including that Lutfi admitted he threw away Britney's phone chargers and disabled her house phones in an attempt to isolate her from her family.

Lutfi's lawsuit also alleges that the singer's father, Jamie Spears, punched him in the chest at the entertainer's home in January 2008 and that the singer herself still owes him money for management fees.

Lynne Spears' lawyer, Michael Adler, argued in court documents that the claims by Lutfi for libel and defamation should have been dismissed because they interfered with her right to free speech. He also asked the judge to throw out an allegation of intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Adler noted in his court papers that some of the statements in Lynne Spears' book recount -- often word for word -- what she said in a defamation- proof court declaration in favor of the issuance of a temporary restraining order to protect her daughter against Lutfi.

But in rejecting Adler's motion in its entirety, Sinanian, who had the case under submission for six days, said there is evidence that Lynne Spears made statements with "reckless disregard for the truth."

The Lutfi suit was filed Feb. 3, four days after Britney Spears was granted a temporary restraining order against Lutfi, her 36-year-old former boyfriend Adnan Ghalib and attorney Jon Eardley, forbidding all three from having contact with her, her parents and her two sons.

The order was later extended until 2012 against Ghalib first, then later until the same year against the other two men, as well.

Lutfi has appealed the order.

Judge: It's a Spears Family Affair

The following italicized article is from www.nbclosangeles.com:

Libel claims against Britney Spears' mother will likely remain part of a lawsuit by the pop star's self-proclaimed ex-manager that also names the singer and her father, a judge said Thursday.

Osama "Sam" Lutfi alleges the pop star's mother, Lynne Spears, defamed him, the singer's father, Jamie Spears, assaulted him, and the performer still owes him money for management fees.

He claims that Jamie Spears punched him in the chest at the singer's home in January 2008, and that Lynne Spears' book, "Through the Storm, A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World," contains false information, including that Lutfi admitted he threw away Britney's phone chargers and disabled her house phones in an attempt to isolate her from her family.

Lynne Spears notes in her court papers that some of the statements in her book recount -- often word for word -- what she said in a defamation-proof court declaration in favor of the issuance of a temporary restraining to protect her daughter against Lutfi.

Her attorney, Michael S. Adler, argued in court documents that the claims by Lutfi for libel and defamation should be dismissed because they interfered with her right to free speech. He also is asking the judge to throw out an allegation of intentional infliction of emotional distress.

But Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Zaven V. Sinanian rejected arguments that Lutfi was legally "libel-proof," a term referring to someone whose reputation has been irreparably stained by prior published statements.

"My opinion is that a prima facie case has been made in this circumstance," Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Zaven V. Sinanian said after hearing a motion by Lynne Spears to dismiss all of Osama "Sam" Lutfi's allegations.

However, Sinanian said he was taking the motion under submission and expects to have a final ruling in a few days.

"I want to look at the papers again to make sure I've covered all my bases," Sinanian said.

Lutfi's lawyer, Bryan J. Freedman, said after the hearing that he was encouraged by Sinanian's comments indicating he is leaning toward denying Lynne Spears' motion.

"I think there's no question we will prevail on this motion," Freedman said.

In a sworn declaration also filed with Lynne Spears' court papers, Chip MacGregor, her book agent, states that sales of "Through the Storm" have been disappointing. The poor sales may be attributable to the fact there was "little news in the book," according to her court papers.

The Lutfi suit was filed Feb. 3, four days after Britney Spears was granted a temporary restraining order against Lutfi, her 36-year-old former boyfriend Adnan Ghalib and attorney Jon Eardley, forbidding all three from having contact with her, her parents and her two young sons.

The order was later extended until 2012 against Ghalib first, then later until the same year against the other two men as well.

Lutfi has appealed the order.

Britney's Former Pal -- They Ruined My Life!

The following italicized article is from www.tmz.com:

Britney Spears' former BFF has filed legal papers in his defamation lawsuit against Britney and her parents, claiming they have ruined his life.

The devil Sam Lutfi claims Lynne Spears' book about her famous daughter is a pack of lies, especially the part in which she says Sam told her he secretly ground up pills and put them in Britney's food.

Lutfi says as a result of the book, "I am constantly in fear for my life..." He says he was "harassed and cajoled by the public." If our memory serves us correctly, Lutfi was cajoled long before Lynne's book was published.

Lutfi trotted out his own cast of character witnesses in the new legal docs -- notably the infamous Adnan Ghalib -- currently being prosecuted for felony battery. Adnan wrote a declaration, claiming Lynne's assertions that Sam was effectively holding Britney hostage were false.

Britney Attends Cousin's Wedding in Louisiana

The following italicized article is from www.people.com:

After making a big splash in the Bahamas the day before, Britney Spears emerged Saturday in Amite, La., where she made a low-key appearance as an "honorary" bridesmaid at the wedding of her cousin, Laura Lynne Covington.

"When her brother walked her down the aisle, she looked stunningly calm and beautiful," says one wedding guest. "She was very pretty, low-key. She was not the center of everything, just pretty and calm and collected.”

The wedding took place at the First United Methodist Church, the same church where the funeral for Covington's mother Sandra, who died of ovarian cancer, took place in January 2007.

Later, at the wedding reception, the pop star hung out with her sister and fellow bridesmaid, Jamie Lynn, who toted baby Maddie, and "sat at a table off to the side and visited with local people she knew," says the guest.

"There was no fanfare," noted the guest. "With all the star power Britney and her family command, it was still the bride's day."

Lawsuit against Britney Spear's ex-manager postponed

The following italicized article is from www.contracostatimes.com:

A lawsuit by Britney Spears' ex-manager against the pop star and her parents will not go to trial until next year, a judge ruled today.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Zaven V. Sinanian scheduled the trial of Osama "Sam" Lutfi's lawsuit for March 8, 2010. Attorneys for Jamie Spears, the singer's father, said his client is considering bringing a countersuit, while a lawyer for Lynne Spears, the entertainer's mother, said he may seek to dismiss the defamation claim against her on grounds it interferes with her free- speech rights.

However, attorneys on all sides also told the judge they will see if the case can be resolved with the help of a private mediator.

Lutfi's lawsuit alleges the pop star's mother defamed him, that her father assaulted him and that the singer owes him money for management fees.

Lutfi's court papers allege that Jamie Spears punched him in the chest at the singer's home in January 2008.

In the defamation claim, Lutfi's court papers cite passages in Lynne Spears' book, "Through the Storm, A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World," which he said contain false information, including a claim that Lutfi admitted he threw away Britney's phone chargers and disabled her house phones.

The suit was filed in February, four days after Spears was granted a temporary restraining order against Lutfi, her 36-year-old former boyfriend Adnan Ghalib and attorney Jon Eardley, forbidding all three from having contact with her, her parents and her two young sons.

The order was later extended until 2012 against Ghalib first, then later until the same year against the other two men as well.

Sam Lutfi Tones Down Attack on Britney Spears

The following italicized article is from www.eonline.com:

Oops…he did it again.

Britney Spears' former manager/sidekick Osama "Sam" Lutfi has filed an amended lawsuit against the pop princess, toning down the rhetoric from his original complaint but still making the same basic accusations: chief among them that mother Lynne Spears slandered him; father Jamie Spears assaulted him; and that the "Toxic" singer still owes him money for services rendered.

Acting on behaf of his daughter's conservatorship, Jamie Spears obtained a temporary restraining order against Lutfi back in January to keep him out of her life.

On Feb. 3, Lutfi fired back with a lawsuit that included salacious allegations about her parents leeching off Britney.

That led to Team Spears to file a petition asking the court to toss out the first seven pages of Lutfi's complaint, claiming the blistering charges were really a "calculated attempt to exploit the court system" to make public assertions that "no factual or legal moorings."

Among the finer details in dispute: "every aspect of [Britney's] life and more importantly, her fortune, has been controlled by her parents" and that the parents were losing control of their daughter, which "posed a serious threat to Jamie and Lynne" and their supposedly lavish lifestyles.

Such language was excised from the updated filing last Thursday, according to Lutfi lawyer Bryan Freedman, to "clarify" his client's accusations against the popster.

"We think the amended complaint sets forth our claim in a more clear fashion," Freedman tells E! News. "There were certain allegations that we wanted to clean up. "We felt [the language] provided some real background but we removed it...as far as the legal claims we're seeking, it was irrelevant."

Jamie Spears' attorney, Joel Boxer, could not be reached for comment.

While all this plays out, a judge could decide as soon as tomorrow to make permanent the restraining order against Lutfi and attorney John Eardley—ruling which Freedman said he will appeal should they come out on the wrong side.

Freedman also expressed a desire to bring Spears in from her Circus tour to explain why, if Lutfi was such a nuisance, she didn't file her own restraining order against Lutfi before her father took control of her affairs.

"I think if she testified we'd at least understand the truth whether she suffered substantial emotinal distress from Sam or whether she was reaching out and Sam helped her," the attorney added.

The Spears estate recently obtained a permanent restraining order against Britney former paparazzo paramour Adnan Ghalib, which will remain in place for three years.
