Is Britney Broke?

The following italicized article is from www.x17online.com:

Page Six is reporting that in order to "stop the bleeding from his daughter's bank accounts", Jamie Spears plans to put Britney's famous face on a line of "Danish accent pieces."

Jamie is apparently talking to Claus Hjelmbak, the man who paid Brit $1 million to host her last birthday at the Scandinavian Style Mansion, about Britney sponsoring the line of furniture.

So will Brit become the next Sofa Queen of the country? Doubtful.
Hjelmbak is denying that he's "in talks" with the pop star.

Brit-Brit's Rocky Mountain Retreat

The following italicized article is from www.pagesix.com:

Heads up, Britney watchers: The troubled pop tart has just been spotted in Colorado — by Stan Marsh and Kyle Broflovski!

That’s right — just days after taping an episode How I Met Your Mother — Britney Spears, 27, will make an appearance on South Park.

OK, maybe not the real Britney, but that shouldn’t stop fans and foes alike from tuning in to see how the animated Comedy Central series skewers her.

Earlier this week, the network hinted that the episode (airing today at 10 p.m. ET) would reflect the ever-expanding media circus surrounding the often addled single mom:

“Britney Spears is trying to get away from it all in the mountains near South Park, Colo., when the boys have a run-in with her. Stan and Kyle get caught up in Britney's celebrity and the never-ending feeding frenzy that follows her wherever she goes.”

What we want to know is, will Britney hook up with Kenny?

They Drink Your Milkshake

The following italicized article is from www.pagesix.com:

The Spears family continued in their bid to become the 21st century Beverly Hillbillies last night by popping in to Paradise Cove Beach Cafe in Malibu. On the menu are mouthwatering dishes like Bloody Mary Shrimp Gazpacho (which you know Britney chowed down on), the "Best Lobster Dinner in Town" (that's a direct quote — and we imagine it's Jamie's favorite), Drunken Sterling Salmon (lookin' at you, Lynne) and the Gigantic Iced Seafood Display — fun for the whole family to share!

Spears to Sell Cars

The following italicized article is from www.pagesix.com:

Jamie Spears has been granted permission to sell some of Britney's cars. The 26-year-old pop singer, whose attorney did not object the request, has nine vehicles, according to her driving-without-a-license lawyer, Michael Flanagan.

Also, the restraining order against Sam Lutfi has been extended to April 16.

Other issues discussed today include Brit's medical and financial situations. The next hearing in her conservatorship case is scheduled for April 17.

Did Sam Steal Britney's Swag?

The following italicized article is from www.pagesix.com:

Sam Lutfi's restraining order expires today, and the judge is expected to extend the order for another 30 days. But Britney Spears' confidante reportedly does not plan on fighting the extension. One possible reason? It has apparently come to the attention of father Jamie Spears that Sam may have shanghaied expensive gifts that were originally meant for Britney.

"We are talking about hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of merchandise that was only intended for Britney, and given to Sam in good faith to be given to her," a source tells PageSix.com. "She was completely unaware that he accepted very expensive jewelry, fur coats, and other high-end goods that were never given to her. Britney claims she was completely unaware, and Sam had kept the goods and given some of them to his sister."

Michael Sands, Sam Lutfi's spokesperson, tells us that, "Britney was aware of the merchandise, and if she didn't want it, Sam donated it to charity."

PageSix.com will be in the courtroom this afternoon, so stay tuned.

We're Just One Week Away

PageSix.com has the first look at Britney Spears on the set of the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother ... check it out:

We've all been talking about it and now here's your first look at Britney Spears as a receptionist on How I Met Your Mother. Looking slim and sexy (from the shoulders up at least) Britney was reportedly on her best behavior last week while she filmed her cameo, although co-star Neil Patrick Harris said she seemed "fragile but professional." Ah, just how every actress dreams of being labeled.

Wow ... what a difference a week makes. Last Monday we heard that Britney Spears would be guest starring on an upcoming ep of How I Met Your Mother and today we have the first picture from the ep, scheduled to air on CBS next Monday, March 24. Hurray for Hollywood ... Britney Spears just might manage a successful comeback after all.

A Very Britney Weekend

The following italicized article is from www.pagesix.com:

We are crossing our fingers, but all seems well in the world of Britney. The pop star saw her sons Sean, 2, and Jayden, 1, again, as part of her ongoing visitation, and dined with Braveheart star Mel Gibson. There were no signs of her pink wig, late night trips to Rite-Aid, and former pal Sam Lutfi, who will reportedly not be fighting the restraining order against him, which will be extended another 30 days.

Saturday, after a scheduled visit with her sons, Britney reportedly met up with Mel Gibson at Studio City, Calif. restaurant Romanov, where they dined on Russian cuisine for about 2 hours. Although the nature of their meeting was not reported, in 2006, Mel had plenty of nice things to say about the troubled pop star. "I feel compassion for someone like Britney," Mel said. "She never gets a moment... Your heart goes out to her because I'm positive that, at her core, she's a good woman."

Someone who won't be dining or getting anywhere near Britney in the near future: former pal/manager Sam Lutfi, whose spokesman Michael Sands told PageSix.com, that Sam will, “not fight the temporary restraining order being extended another 30 days.” A temporary restraining order, detailing that Sam must stay 250 yards away from Britney, her homes, and her family's homes, was issued against her former pal last month after Britney's mom Lynne Spears submitted a six page declaration claiming that Sam admitted to giving Britney drugs.

Britney's Blonde Ambition

The following italicized article is from www.pagesix.com:

Did Britney Spears go blond for her role in How I Met Your Mother? A day after the struggling pop star went to shoot her cameo at the Fox studios, we caught her putting what was left of her $1,500 weekly allowance to good mediocre use. The 26-year-old, who was photographed earlier this week with dark brown hair, was sporting a sandy blonde look while perusing racks of plastic accessories at the discount duds story Forever 21.

UCLA Hospital Axes Employees Who Spied on Spears

The following italicized article is from www.pagesix.com:

UCLA Medical Center is in the process of firing at least 13 employees, and suspending even more, for looking into former patient Britney Spears' records.

The Los Angeles Times reports that workers (including physicians) snuck unauthorized peeks at Brit's file both during her recent stay in the psychiatric ward, and previously, when she gave birth to son Sean Preston at the hospital's Santa Monica location.

When the 26-year-old singer was admitted on January 31, employees were warned that unless they were directly caring for Britney, her information was off-limits.

Director of human resources at the Santa Monica center, Jerri Simpson, told the paper that they treat stars "all the time and you never hear about this... I don't know what it is about this particular person, I don't know what it is about her."

Neil Patrick Harris: "Britney Seems Fragile"

The following italicized article is from www.pagesix.com:

Britney Spears was a true professional this week, arriving bright and early to the set of How I Met Your Mother. But that doesn’t mean the diva is completely gone — the singer wore her sunglasses the whole time she was in the studio. That didn’t stop Neil Patrick Harris from raving about Britney’s read-through on Tuesday.

"She's good,” he says. “She seemed a little nervous, she wore the big sunglasses the whole time. I think that's a bit of a security blanket.”

He adds: “But she seems very professional."

NPH (as we like to call him) does admit that Britney seems vulnerable in person. "Being up close to her, she seems like a very sort of fragile, kind of complicated person; it must be very strange to live in her life."

Spears plays a secretary at a dermatologist’s office in the upcoming episode. She shocked the cast by showing up to set at 7:30 a.m. Co-star Josh Radnor tells People: "It pains me to report that on the first day of the shoot, Britney knew her lines better than I knew mine. She's been great to work with."

All That Money, and She Doesn't Have an Ashtray

The following italicized article is from www.pagesix.com:

Britney Spears completes her country-girl look with a pair of cowboy boots today on the balcony of her hillside home. Too bad she had to throw her cig on the table to get it done! Didn't Papa Spears score her a $1,500-a-week debit card? Seems to us that she could spend just a sliver of that budget on an ashtray...

Brit's Faux Lawyer Files Appeal

The following italicized article is from www.pagesix.com:

Jon Eardley, the attorney who filed a request to have Britney Spears' custody and conservatorship cases moved to the federal courts, has appealed the February 1 decision that granted Jamie Spears control of the pop star's affairs.

In documents obtained by PageSix.com, Eardley claims that Brit wasn't given the proper five-day notice prior to the hearing.

Because it was determined that Britney isn't fit to retain her own counsel, Eardley has never officially represented the pop star. Eardley, who practices law out of his mother-in-law's home, shares spokesperson Michael Sands with Brit's former pal Sam Lutfi.

Brit's Conservators Clean House

The following italicized article is from www.pagesix.com:

New players have been brought in to look at Britney Spears' business affairs, and the money the pop star shells out for additional lawyers could end up paying off — literally. Florida-based attorney Jorge Hernandez has been retained to head up the Brit's audit with Jive, her longtime record label, to determine whether the company owes her money. Tom Hansen, a powerhouse L.A. entertainment lawyer, has also been hired to look at all of Britney's contracts.

Jamie Spears and Andrew Wallet, co- conservators for Britney's estate, are getting a much better idea of where Britney stands financially and "are being extremely thorough in assessing the situation," our source tells us. "Her business affairs were in disarray because Sam [Lutfi] had isolated Britney, and it's going to be a very tedious task of going through everything." As we exclusively reported, Howard Grossman, Brit's former business manager, was a very good friend of Sam Lutfi's. Grossman has since been fired by Jamie.

The pop diva did not appear in court yesterday, as noted in the minute order realeased today, which states, "The court finds that the proposed conservetee is aware that this hearing and has chosen not to appear." Britney opted instead to go to a table read of How I Met Your Mother in preparation for her guest appearance on the show.

The minute order also states that going forward, all doctors names wouldn't be disclosed.

Britney Creates Mama Drama

The following italicized article is from www.pagesix.com:

Hollywood was abuzz yesterday with the news that Britney Spears was returning to TV to guest star as a dermatologist's assistant on How I Met Your Mother — she had been MIA from television since a 2006 Will & Grace cameo. Everyone was looking forward to seeing if Brit could pull it off — everyone, that is, except for Alicia Silverstone.

See, Alicia was set to play the dermatologist Brit would be assisting, but according to Pink is the New Blog, the Clueless star felt the pop star would overshadow her and has told producers she's outtie. Way harsh, Tai.

Stepping in last minute to replace Alicia is Scrubs’ Sarah Chalke, reports TV Guide. Sarah knows a thing or two about being a late-in-the-game substitute — she took over the role of Becky Connor on Roseanne for three seasons after the orig Becks, Lecy Goranson, left to attend college.

Brit’s ep is set to air toward the end of April and fans of the underrated show are praying this isn't the encounter that has Ted telling his kids, this is how I met your mother.

Britney Faces Two Psych Evaluations

The following italicized article is from www.pagesix.com:

Britney Spears' conservatorship hearing has concluded, after a physician's report on the singer's status was submitted and attorney Samuel Ingham gave the court an update on her well-being.

Brit faces not one but two psychiatric evaluations in May, as both the probate court (where her conservatorship case is heard) and family court have requested one. The family court will hear the results on May 6, while the probate court will go over an evaluation on the 29th.

Otherwise, lawyers for all sides are expected back on April 17 to discuss a matter near and dear to their hearts, attorneys' fees. Two new lawyers were approved to be brought on for Brit's issues: Jorge Hernandez, who will serve as a consultant for matters on the conservatorship (at $25,000) and Tom Hansen, an entertainment lawyer who will receive $15,000 a month.

Britney to Get an Allowance

The following italicized article is from www.pagesix.com:

Jamie Spears, Britney's dad and conservator, told the court today that he would like to give the singer a debit card, loaded with $1,500 per week. The amount, $1,000 less than he himself will be making as conservator, is to give Brit more freedom.

The 26-year-old mom exercised her freedom to not attend today's hearing, despite the advice of her appointed attorney Samuel Ingham and the court's assurances of security. Ingham told the court that while Britney did not object to the hearing, she did object to elements of it.

Britney's Lawyer: "Ms. Spears is Not a Checkbook"

The following italicized article is from www.pagesix.com:

The gloves came off in an L.A. court with Britney Spears' lawyer arguing with Kevin Federline's lawyer over skyrocketing legal fees arising from the former couple's bitter custody battle.

Britney Spears' new lawyer Stacy Phillips argued that K-Fed's lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan's fees are excessive, saying that four months of fees for both sides add up to a whopping $900,000. Additionally, she argued that Kevin has the ability to pay for his own lawyer (the current agreement stipulates that Britney Spears pays for all of her ex-husband's legal fees), saying, "Ms. Spears is not an open checkbook."

After the Phillips said that Kaplan's fees should be in the "$150,000-$175,000 range," she attacked Kevin, saying he has not separated his personal and business expenses, and revealed that his ex-girlfriend Shar Jackson has use of his business credit card and is using it for personal purposes. She went on to say that K-Fed recently spent $20,000 on jewelry, went out to dinner and paid a $2000 tip on a $300 bill.

K-Fed and Jamie Spears Chat Inside Court

The following italicized article is from www.pagesix.com:

Kevin Federline and Jamie Spears (the conservator for daughter Britney) are back in an L.A. court today for another custody hearing. The pair played golf together over the weekend and were chatting and smiling with each other before the hearing. Jamie arrived at the court house with two briefcases, while Kevin was wearing a suit and a pinkie ring.

Today's proceedings are expected to deal with a disputed invoice given to K-Fed by his lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan. As part of an earlier agreement in the prolonged custody battle between K-Fed and Britney, Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon ruled that Britney would cover all of her ex-husband's legal bills.

Jamie has disputed a $500,000 bill from Kaplan, and will also be disputing a $600,000 bill from Britney's former attorney Sorrel Trope. New attorney Stacy Phillips is representing Jamie.

K-Fed and Jamie Spears Hit the Links

The following italicized article is from www.pagesix.com:

K-Fed has a new golf partner: none other than Britney Spears’ conservator/father Jamie Spears. Sean and Jayden’s father and grandfather hit the links near Kevin's home in Tarzana, Calif. on Saturday. Surely the golf buddies had a lot to talk about while they shot 18 holes.
