Spears hasn't played a full string of live dates since her Onyx Hotel world tour in 2004.
But the Toxic hitmaker was recently rumoured to be planning a major international trek next year (09) to coincide with the release of her new album, Circus, in December (08).
And now her mother Lynne has confirmed the plans, saying, "She's releasing music, she has plans to do tours and some other little secrets that I can't tell you. It's going to be fabulous though."
Meanwhile, Spears, 26, was left 'furious' after her new single, Womanizer, was leaked onto the internet.
A source said, "She is finally getting herself back on the straight and narrow, but is still finding it hard to trust people again.
"The fact someone has secretly recorded rehearsals and leaked her single on to the interney has really upset her.
"She's really nervous about her comeback, probably more than last time.
"She was shaking like a leaf at the MTV awards recently."
