More 'Glee' News

The following italicized article is from www.tvguide.com:

Here's one Glee fans should have seen coming: That upcoming Britney Spears-themed episode? It will revolve around New Directions' own Brittany (Heather Morris).

Of course!

Series creator Ryan Murphy tells TVGuide.com exclusively that McKinley High's deliciously ditzy Cheerio Brittany will be at the center of Season 2's tribute to Spears.

And it gets better. Brittany will be belting out not one, but two of the pop star's tunes. "Heather's actually got a terrific voice," Murphy says.

No word yet on which numbers they'll be, but just imagine the possibilities: Brittany could sing "Boys" (because she's hooked up with everyone, even Kurt) or "Toxic" (which could be her ode to Kurt!)

Would "Oops!...I Did It Again" be too obvious? Hmm...

Morris already seems sold on the idea. "I heard there's a Britney Spears episode coming up and fingers crossed that I get to sing, because I play Brittany and I'm like, 'Oh my god, it's insane,'" Morris told E! Online last month.

Glee fans won't have to wait long to find out how Morris sounds. Murphy said the Spears-powered hour will be the second episode to air next season.

One Final Request: Britney to Appear on TRL Finale?

The following italicized article is from www.tvguide.com:

Is Britney ready to hit TRL one more time?

Stars of TRL past and present will be on hand to bid adieu to the iconic scream-fest countdown show on Sunday, and one of them could be Britney Spears, host Damien Fahey revealed to TVGuide.com.

"We actually do have something with Britney, but I can't exactly say what it is," he said.

An MTV rep tells TVGuide.com that Spears is "not going to be there" live at the New York studio in Times Square for the closing ceremony. But how about a pre-taped segment?

"That's not confirmed, but it has been discussed," Melissa Barreto said.

The show served as the launching pad for Spears' career with her provocative Catholic school girl-clad video "Baby One More Time" and triggered the late '90s pop craze. A decade later, Spears, who holds the record for the most retired videos with 13, still dominates the countdown with her latest tune, "Womanizer," off her upcoming album, Circus.

Hey, girl's got a disc to promote, so she should drop by, right

Is The Business Of Britney In A Recession?

The following italicized article is from www.accesshollywood.com:

Britney Spears’ second release from the psych ward was a gold mine for the paparazzi.

Between tabloids, her recording career and her life in general, the revenue generated from all things Britney brought in up to $120 million in the past year. But now that Britney is staying home, is the business of Britney in a recession?

"Since her father has her under his control, we certainly haven't seen the number of photos that we used to see coming in of Britney," X-17 co-owner Brandy Navarre told Access Hollywood. "The subject of the photo is just not as interesting as it once was, so the prices do go down."

X-17 saw a 10 percent increase in overall profits with the help of exclusive photos like bald Britney, which made them a half-million dollars.

Now, with the pop star’s recent cleaned-up behavior, the amount of Britney pictures are way down – from more than 1,000 a day to a couple hundred, forcing the photo agency to change focus.

"It’s a different game now," Navarre explained. "It's a different challenge. We're moving on to other celebrities like Brad [Pitt] and Angelina [Jolie and] Jamie Lynn Spears. We’ve moved on to Britney’s sister."

Needles to say, Britney has shifted in priority.

"We had as many as maybe10 photographers chasing after her. Now we have probably three or four photographers working on her at any given time," she said.

And Spears’ gated community is empty these days. The main road once littered with paparazzi is a much different scene now that Britney’s dad, Jamie, has taken charge.

"After he took over the conservatorship, it got really, really slow for us," Britney’s trusted paparazzo friend Felipe said.

He was scheduled to follow Britney daily, from 4 PM to 4 AM, but has since undergone a dramatic shift change.

"She's not going out at night as much as she used to … you know I started working the daytime between 11 AM to 11 PM," he said.

OK! magazine features editor Rob Chilton has noticed the change in his magazine’s focus, as well.

"There are fewer shots now of Britney doing crazy things," Chilton told Access. "Now we're seeing a more stable, more calm Britney so there are less shocking stories about Britney these days."

As for Us Weekly, Britney was only on the cover once in the last six weeks, a far cry from last September through mid-February. Then, around the time of her custody battle and hospitalizations, Britney was Us Weekly's hot topic in 23 out of 24 issues.

And with no Britney scandal to report, this week’s tabs feature Britney-free covers.

But there is proof that Spears still sells. TV Guide put "Tudors" star Jonathan Rhys-Meyers on the cover of the new issue mailed to subscribers, but chose to put Britney on the cover of the issue available on newsstands in an attempt to boost sales.

"People want to read about Britney," Chilton said. "There is still that fascination with her whether it's good or bad."

A Guided Tour

It should come as no surprise that Britney Spears has landed the cover of the new issue of TV Guide (which is due out this wee) since everyone is talking about her upcoming guest starring stint on the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother ... check it out:

Britney Spears' visit to How I Met Your Mother certainly has brought some quick buzz to the post-strike season. The March 24 issue of TV Guide went behind the scenes to get the scoop on the pop star's surprise sitcom gig; the exclusive cover story with posed Josh Radnor/Brit pic will be on newsstands this week. Talking to the Mother cast last Thursday at their return party, it became clear that each wanted a "piece" of her -- or, at least, admired the pieces she brought to the show. Jason Segel gushed, "She was just unbelievable. She had her lines memorized, jokes ready, and she killed it. And she's beautiful." Neil Patrick Harris, meanwhile, was surprised that Spears agreed to come on the show at all. "I didn't think she'd have the time to do it," he confessed. "I kept laughing, saying, 'You're serious? She's actually going to do it?'" Adds Alyson Hannigan, "[Britney] was sweet and funny. It was surprisingly normal." For Cobie Smulders, the combo of Brit and the March 24 episode's other big guest star, Sarah Chalke, was anything but toxic. Smulders (like Chalke, a Canuck) said, "Sarah is so funny, so nice, and she's the coolest chick. I know she seems like the coolest chick, but [she really is]."

It sounds like it has been a lovefest on the set of HIMYM lately ... I guess we'll see if all that lurve translates to the screen when the ep airs next Monday.

Additionally, Entertainment Tonight posted a very short clip of Britney on the set of HIMYM ... here are a couple of screencaps:

And you can click HERE to watch the blink-and-you-missed-it vidclip. I know, I'm posting every single little shred of new info concerning Brit's appearance on the show but I'm just so damn excited ... it's only fair that I cover the positive stuff with as much precision as all the negative stuff. I smell an Emmy Award, y'all ;)
