Rep: Britney’s ‘Hold It Against Me’ Video Not Dropping After Super Bowl

The following italicized article is from www.acceshollywood.com:

Britney Spears fans will have to wait a little bit longer than Super Bowl Sunday before they see the video for her new single, “Hold It Against Me.”

Despite an online report claming the pop star will debut the video in between the game and a special Sunday episode of “Glee,” Britney’s manager, Larry Rudolph, told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush that this is not true.

“Definitely not premiering Super Bowl Sunday!” Larry told Billy on Wednesday morning.

The latest Britney rumor comes on the heels of another online report that the pop princess was scheduled to perform at the upcoming Grammy Awards, which her rep also shot down.

According to Britney’s Twitter, the video is still in the works.

“I’m so excited to see the 1st cut of the #HIAM video next week. I asked for more pics to send to you guys. Hopefully tmw…. – Brit,” she Tweeted on Tuesday.

Lea Michele Talks Britney On ‘Glee’

The following italicized article is from www.accesshollywood.com:

Lea Michele hit the Emmy red carpet on Sunday night and dished the dirt on working with Britney Spears.

“She was so professional,” the “Glee” star gushed to Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush. “She looked incredible. She’s so tiny!”

The brunette beauty said working with the pop superstar was a great experience.

“She was great to work with,” Lea said. “It was one of those things where you go to work and you’re like, ‘I can’t believe we’re doing this!’”

Gleek alert: Fans can definitely expect to see Lea and Britney together on screen — although, she remained mum on the details.

“We are in a scene together,” Lea revealed. “What we do together, I can’t say, but I will tell you it’s incredibly iconic! I can’t believe Ryan [Murphy] got her to do this.”

Sunday was an extra special day for Lea – not only was the star nominated for her first Emmy award (for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series), but the award show also happened to fall on her 24th birthday.

Catch Lea and Britney on “Glee” on September 28 at 8 PM on FOX.

More Glee for Britney?

The following italicized article is from www.accesshollywood.com:

Just days after Britney Spears stopped by the “Glee” set to film her cameo for Season 2, there already appears to be talk of her returning to McKinley High.

On Saturday, at the Creative Arts Emmys in Los Angeles, Access Hollywood asked co-creator Ryan Murphy if fans can expect to see even more of the “Circus” singer, and Ryan suggested it is likely.

“Probably, yeah… probably,” he said.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Britney hit the “Glee” set earlier in the week to film her guest role, including one scene alongside the show’s own Brittany, played by Heather Morris. While on set, the pop princess spent time with Ryan, and at Saturday’s event, where “Glee” was up for several awards, he told Access what a delight it was to have her around.

“Britney came this week and shot, and I got to hang out with Britney,” Ryan said. “She was sweet, she was great.”

“I’m now best friends with Britney apparently,” Ryan added, jokingly.

Ryan, who also created “Nip/Tuck,” said he’s still surprised by the popularity of his show about a high school glee club.

“I never thought it would work at all,” he said. “I thought it was very good, and I thought the cast was great, but I thought the idea was kind of particular. I’m shocked.”

Catch the season premiere of “Glee” on September 21 at 8 PM on FOX, and the Britney episode on Sept. 28.

Alli Sims Opens Up About Life With Britney Spears

The following italicized article is from www.accesshollywood.com:

Britney Spears’ former assistant, Alli Sims, is breaking her silence for the very first time about the years she spent with the music superstar.

Alli lived with Britney in the pop star’s former gated community for over a year. She saw everything and in an Access Hollywood exclusive, revealed even at it’s worst, things with the pop star weren’t as bad as they were portrayed.

“I feel like the media made it appear a lot more insane than it really was,” Alli told Access.

Alli revealed that while she was at Britney’s side, they were constantly followed by the paparazzi.

“It was a minimum of 50 people following us,” she said. “It made everything look so much more hectic. It was crazy.”

Alli was Britney’s assistant for one year until reports said she was let go.

When asked if she was fired from the job, Alli said, “No.”

“I still lived with her after I wasn’t working with her and we’re still best friends,” Alli said.

When asked about the reports that Britney’s dad, Jamie Spears, said she couldn’t come around anymore, Alli said that was true.

“Yeah, he definitely said that,” she said. “You know, they’re very controlling and that’s fine and I just stepped back. I’m not going to fight nine lawyers and parents.”

In fact, it was a team of lawyers that handled a divorce, child custody and questions about Britney’s mental health. And with Jamie in charge, they brought order to Britney’s life.

“They pretty much cut out everyone, honestly,” Alli said.

And despite reports that Britney is bi-polar or suffers from post-partum depression, Alli said she didn’t see evidence of such conditions.

“I just feel like, you know, she had kids fast,” Alli said. “There was a divorce going on and that’s a lot for a young person to handle.”

In January 2008, Britney barricaded herself and son Jayden at her then home, refusing to give him back to ex-husband, Kevin Federline. Alli said the reason Britney refused is quite simple.

“She was just like, ‘I wasn’t ready for them… you know, to go home,’” Alli recounted. “It was a mom just being protective and a mom that didn’t want her kids to leave… I mean, it’s weird when you have kids three days a week and you’re used to having them all day everyday.”

During one stretch of Alli’s tenure with Britney, the star was hospitalized twice in one month. The second time she was taken by ambulance to the UCLA Medical Center’s Psychiatric Ward.

When asked how Britney was in the hospital, Alli said she was OK.

“Fine, fine. Honestly, fine,” she said.

As a result, Britney temporarily lost visitation rights to both her boys in January 2008.

“I think that was a really harsh step,” Alli said. “It looked a lot worse than it was… I actually got subpoenaed for the custody case and I was in there for eight hours and it was brutal. But, I mean, I just sat in there and told the truth. There was nothing bad to say.”

Alli hasn’t spoken to Britney in over a year. She’s spent the time doing what she says Britney encouraged her to do – pursue her music.

Alli’s first single, “Driving Blind,” is about missing someone. In this case, Britney.

“I want her to know when she hears [it], that it is about her and I miss her friendship,” Alli said.

Former Attorney For Jamie Spears Testifies Britney Wanted Ex-Manager Jailed

The following italicized article is from www.accesshollywood.com:

Britney Spears asked for her former manager, Osama “Sam” Lutfi, to be jailed, a former attorney for the pop star’s father said in a Los Angeles courtroom earlier today.

Jamie Spears has been seeking a permanent restraining order for his daughter against Lutfi, and the hearing in Los Angeles, which saw testimony from Jamie’s former attorney, Blair Berk, was at the request of his current counsel.

According to City News Service, Berk recounted the pop star’s request regarding Lutfi to the court.

“She repeatedly asked if I could get him arrested for what he’d done to her and get the court to order him to stay away from her,” Berk said, according to CNS.

Berk also reportedly claimed Lutfi threatened to release embarrassing information about the pop star and her dad if Berk did not stop such information being released about him.

Additionally, Berk spoke about Britney Spears’ lack of relationship with attorney Jon Eardley, who once challenged the conservatorship Britney is currently under. Berk testified that the pop star previously told her she did not know Eardley and she did not want him as her lawyer.

Lutfi’s lawyers claim there is no evidence that proves he caused Britney Spears emotional distress, according to CNS. They are fighting the restraining order.

Congressman Attends Britney Spears Concert Instead Of Obama Press Conference!

The following italicized article is from www.accesshollywood.com:

One congressman voted for Britney Spears on Tuesday night.

Washington, D.C. gossip blog Wonkette reported on Wednesday that House Republican Whip Eric Cantor spent the evening at the pop princess’ concert at the Verizon Center, rather than watching President Barack Obama’s press conference.

In a statement to Wonkette, the congressman’s office called it “a bipartisan night” and noted that Democrats had joined him at the show.

“I had a political event there, and it was simply because it was there to help the team, that’s why I was there,” Cantor told CNN on Thursday, noting that he’d been there for a fundraiser.

But working for his party wasn’t the only reason the congressman took a night out.

“I hand it to the performer, she was something,” he told CNN.

Britney Spears To Bring Out Classic Songs & ‘Wild’ Costumes On ‘Circus’ Tour

The following italicized article is from www.accesshollywood.com:

On Tuesday night, Britney Spears will make her comeback to the arena tour circuit and today fans got a sneak peek of the pop princess’ set list.

The singer’s official Web site posted the set list for, “The Circus starring Britney Spears,” tour and fans now know that the show will be packed with a host of Brit’s most beloved songs.

The show will kick off with the title track from Britney’s sixth studio album, “Circus,” and will be followed by “Piece of Me,” from 2007’s “Blackout.”

Other Britney favorites cropping up on the set list include a Bollywood version of “Me Against The Music,” the song Britney originally dueted on with Madonna, leading some to wonder if the Queen of Pop will be appearing by video on Brit’s tour. After all, Britney did the very same for Madonna’s “Sticky & Sweet” jaunt last year.

Britney will also perform “Toxic,” and a remix of her uber-classic first single, “Baby One More Time.”

The encore will include “Womanizer” and another version of the opening song, “Circus.”

And, according to Women’s Wear Daily, design house Dsquared has only just finished up the pop star’s costumes for the upcoming 30-date trek.

Dan and Dean Caten, who make up Dsquared, were brought on last year to design stage wear for Britney and they told WWD they were honored to be a part of the “Circus.”

“We are enormous fans of Britney, and have been waiting for the perfect moment to collaborate with her,” twin designer Dan and Dean told the fashion daily. “It’s going to be wild.”

Jennifer's Butt Boy On Britney

The following italicized article is from www.accesshollywood.com:

One person John won’t likely be singing with in the future? Britney Spears.

“I was just talking the other day about how strange the Britney Spears songwriting approach is,” John said. “Because it’s all about, ‘I’m going out tonight, but nobody look at me.’”

“I’ve never met her and I’m not coming down on her, but all of the songs are sort of like, ‘I’m-getting-all-my-girls-together-we’re-gonna-go-out’ and ‘I’ve-got-holes-cut-out-for-(bleep)-I-got-flashlights-on-me,’” John sang. “And then it’s like, ‘Why’s-everybody-looking-at-me? Everybody’s-looking-at-me’” because oh, did you hear verse two, Britney?”

Britney Spears Announces Controversial Third Single

The following italicized article is from www.accesshollywood.com:

“If You Seek Amy” will be the third single from Britney Spears’ “Circus,” the pop princess announced on her Web site on Wednesday.

In December, fans chose the controversial track as the song she should chose for her next single in a poll on the site, with “Amy” winning 26 percent of the vote.

Many parents are up in arms over the song’s chorus, “All of the girls and all of the boys are looking to… If you seek Amy,” which could be heard as “F*** me.”

“I was astonished and totally taken aback when I heard my 5 and 7-year-old kids walking around the house singing ‘F-U---K,” one parent has complained, according to Rolling Stone.
“When I asked them what it was, they told me it was Britney Spears. I was horrified.”

The first two singles from “Circus” were “Womanizer,” which topped the charts, and the album’s title track.

Brit took a break over the holidays from promoting the album to celebrate the wedding of her brother, Bryan, who was married on New Year’s Eve in New Orleans.

Britney Spears’ Permanent Conservatorship Goes Into Effect

The following italicized article is from www.accesshollywood.com:

It’s official – Britney Spears is no longer in control of herself.

Court papers were filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday, making a judge’s October ruling (which made the conservatorship over Britney permanent) official.

The conservatorship over the pop star legally began on January 5, 2009.

The agreement gives permanent control of the pop star’s finances to her father, Jamie Spears, along with attorney Andrew Wallet. While Jamie is sole conservator over Britney’s personal matters.

In the papers pertaining to Britney’s financial matters, it states Britney “is substantially unable to manage … her financial resources or to resist fraud or undue influence.”

When it comes to control over Britney, herself, the papers state the star “is unable properly to provide for his or her personal needs for physical health, food, clothing, or shelter.”

The personal order also gives Jamie Spears “the power to restrict and limit visitors by any means.”

When Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz granted Jamie Spears a permanent conservatorship over his daughter on October 28, 2008, a court-appointed attorney for Spears said the singer did not object to the arrangement.

Britney was not present in court on Monday, and instead was represented by attorney Sam Ingham.

Judge Approves Over $1 Million In Legal Bills, Payments From Britney Spears

The following italicized article is from www.acceshollywood.com:

Britney Spears is back with a hit album and a worldwide 2009 tour, but going from her troubled start at the beginning of 2008 to the top of the charts hasn’t come cheaply.

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge approved over $1.5 million in payouts to those who have assisted the pop singer, who has been under a conservatorship overseen by her father, Jamie Spears and attorney Adam Wallet, since earlier this year.

“My client has made an informed consent to all of these fee amounts,” Britney’s lawyer, Sam Ingham, said in court Monday.

Britney’s father, Jamie, has been receiving $10,000 a month for working as part of the conservatorship to assist his daughter. And on Monday, the judge approved a pay raise for Jamie due to Britney’s hectic schedule, allowing him to now receive $16,125 a month. He was also approved to receive $37,556 from previous business.

The judge also approved $1,200 per month for Jamie to rent an office, where he will be working on the conservatorship.

Britney’s older brother, Bryan Spears, who is a trustee of a trust established in Britney’s name, was also approved for a payment of $200,000 for his services to the “Circus” singer prior to the establishment of the conservatorship.

Sam Ingham, who serves as Britney’s attorney, was approved to receive $143,643, while $81,849 was approved for co-conservator Wallet.

Luce Forward’s law firm, which represents Jamie Spears, was approved for the largest sum of money — $509,080 – for their work.

Michael Flanagan, who was Britney’s lawyer during her driver’s license case earlier this fall, was ordered to be paid $11,811.

A payment of $15,275 was approved for Laura Wasser, the counselor who serves as Britney’s family law attorney.

Additionally, the judge ordered a $1.5 million dollar bond as insurance to protect the conservatorship.

Britney’s 27th ‘Circus’ Birthday

The following Italicized article is from www.accesshollywood.com:

Britney Spears celebrated her 27th birthday doing what her fans love to see her do most — performing.

The pop star continued her comeback with an appearance on “Good Morning America” Tuesday morning at the Big Apple Circus tent at New York’s Lincoln Center.

Britney, who was dressed as a ringmaster, made a grand entrance on a circus wagon with jugglers, clowns and performers in animal costumes accompanying her, before performing her hit single, “Womanizer.”

The pop star’s festive appearance coincides with the release of her sixth studio album, “Circus.”
“GMA” host Robin Roberts noted that Brit’s appearance was “our concert event of the year.”
Robin’s co-host, Diane Sawyer, agreed, saying, “There are about a gazillion people [here].”

The “gazillion” people included Brit’s sons, Preston and Jayden, and her mom, Lynne Spears and brother Bryan.

And it wasn’t only just family wishing Britney a happy birthday. During the broadcast, a slew of stars, including Taylor Swift, John Travolta, Nicollette Sheridan, Teri Hatcher, Reese Witherspoon and Hugh Jackman – who sang “Happy Birthday” to the pop star – sent well wishes to Britney via taped greetings.

“You look great,” Reese said to Brit, “and I hope you have a great day.”

Britney Spears Tops Yahoo Searches

The following Italicized article is from www.accesshollywood.com:

She did it again: Britney Spears was the most popular search term on Yahoo for the fourth year in a row — her seventh time topping the list.

Spears bested World Wrestling Entertainment, Barack Obama, Miley Cyrus and the online game “RuneScape” as the five most-searched terms of 2008 the Web portal and search company announced Monday, a day before the singer released her new album “Circus.”

Jessica Alba, the anime series “Naruto,” Lindsay Lohan, Angelina Jolie and “American Idol” rounded out the top 10 list.

To compile their year-end review, Yahoo editors analyze search queries based on “absolute volume and growth versus previous periods, to see which themes and trends bubble to the surface.”

Users and their search queries remain anonymous.

Spears also continues to be a ratings draw on television, too. The Saturday episode of the British talent show “The X Factor,” which featured an appearance by Spears, attracted 12.6 million viewers, the show’s biggest audience, The Guardian reported Monday.

Britney Spears Performs At Germany’s Bambi Awards

The following Italicized article is a review from www.accesshollywood.com:

Britney Spears made her return to European TV screens on Thursday night, appearing at Germany’s Bambi Awards.

Dressed in a top hat, fishnets and a figure-hugging black outfit, Britney performed “Womanizer” at the awards show where she was honored as Best International Pop Star, by the German media.

Fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld presented the pop princess with the statue, which resembles a shining gold deer, but it was the pop star’s performance that attracted the most attention.

The performance, clips of which have already surfaced on YouTube, featured a host of “Circus”-themed dancers, who paraded around as Britney appeared in silhouette at the start of the number. Britney then walked through a ring of fire, hitting the stage looking as shapely as ever as she danced and strutted her way through the song, before ending it atop a metal globe.

On Saturday, Britney will appear on British TV screens, performing on Simon Cowell’s “X-Factor,” an “Idol”-like talent competition.

Britney releases her sixth studio album, “Circus,” stateside on December 2.
