(Small) '3' Review

The following italicized article is from www.turnupthepop.com:

Is everybody ready for the legendary Britney Spears to return? After the disappointing If U Seek Amy and Radar releases it’s time for Britney to remind everyone why she is the ringleader in charge. 3 is the lead single from her upcoming Singles Collection and what a stomper it is! The track is produced by Max Martin and also written by him, Shellback (So What, If U Seek Amy) and new girl Tiffany Amber.

They seem to have listened to all the best new Britney songs like Gimme More, Circus, Womanizer and If U Seek Amy and put them all into a blender to come out with 3, not that we’re complaining! We unfortunately are not allowed to say anything about lyrics or more specifics about the song so you will just have to wait for the premiere this week.

As for the video, if it’s going to be taking the song lyrics literally it’ll be the sexiest thing she has ever filmed and that includes the Sweet Dreams clip from the Circus tour!

Britney Spears Wraps Circus Tour in U.S.

The following italicized article is from www.people.com:

After nearly seven months, the American leg of Britney Spears's Circus tour came to a close Sunday in Las Vegas.

"Hey Vegas, how y'all feeling?" the headliner, 27, asked the crowd in one of the only times that she spoke during the 90-minute show at Mandalay Bay also attended by Lance Bass and Barry Manilow.

Bass didn't stay in his seat for the entire show, though: He was given a brief lap dance by Spears during the song "Breathe on Me," in which an audience member is invited on stage. Bass was seen singing as Spears smiled at him during the sexually charged choreography.

Sunday's show was the second of Spears's Vegas concerts over the weekend. On Saturday, Miley Cyrus and Spice Girl Melanie Brown attended the concert.

It wasn't all work for Spears in Vegas. Sunday afternoon, the pop star was spotted at Mirage's Sugar Factory with sons Sean Preston, 3, Jayden James, 2, and beau Jason Trawick.

"She spent about $3,000 and walked out of the store with 10 bags," a source tells PEOPLE. "She got a bunch of candy and shirts for her kids and got a bunch of the couture lollipops to give to her backup dancers." Following the purchase, the store sent another $2,500 in merchandise to her room at the Mirage Villas, according to the source.

Though she is finished with the United States leg of the tour, Spears is set to play several shows in Australia in November.

Britney Spears Has a Sin City Weekend

The following italicized article is from www.celebrity-gossip.net:

Nearing the end of her North American tour duties, Britney Spears was spotted disembarking her jet after arriving at the airport in Las Vegas on Saturday (September 26).

With staff members toting her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, the “Gimme More” singer was surrounded by security as she was loaded up into an awaiting car and was whisked away to her hotel accomodations.

As for her stay in Sin City, Brit will be performing the second of a two-day stop at Mandalay Bay later tonight (September 27).

After the month and a half layoff, Spears will bring the lengthy “Circus” tour to it’s end with six November gigs in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Roll Up for Britney's Finest

When she and her 225-strong crew roll into Adelaide for the last of 12 concerts nationally in November, they'll be dragging with them a spectacular show that has cost no less than $30 million to produce.

The stage itself is worth $10 million and could be the platform that relaunches Spears as the Pop Princess.

Not only is she bringing with her 50 band members, dancers and circus performers, she also has in tow her two sons, Sean Preston, 4, and Jayden James, 3, and ex-husband Kevin Federline, who's designated babysitter while Britney wows the crowd.

Tour director Steve Dixon admits being able to bring her family was one of the reasons Britney is finally touring here.

"Part of her new life is balance," Dixon told the Sunday Mail. "The boat (carrying the show) takes 30 days to get to Australia and during that time she'll be in the studio and doing video shoots, but also having down time with her kids."

Federline, also talking exclusively to the Sunday Mail agreed, and did not seem to mind being on baby-sitting duty.

"Fatherhood means everything to me. My children are the best thing that ever happened to me," he said.

The Circus: Starring Britney Spears, is the controversial star's first tour in five years and Dixon promises she won't disappoint diehard fans who have waited 10 years to see their idol perform. "This is the biggest pop show ever and people love her, they love the show," he said.

With nine costume changes - some of which take the pop diva as little as 15 seconds - all in keeping with the Circus theme, Britney takes centre stage as Ring Master.

But critics will no doubt be watching to see if the show is much more than just smoke and mirrors.

Dixon disagrees that Britney might be struggling under the stress of such a gruelling performance.

"She's in great shape, she loves being on stage - it's her favourite part of the day," he said.

Pap Socks It to Britney One More Time

The following italicized article is from www.eonline.com:

You'd think this guy's rollover minutes would have expired by now.

Shutterbug Ricardo Mendoza, whose foot fell victim to the tire of Britney Spears' Mercedes in 2007, has updated his accusation against the rejuvenated pop princess.

When he sued her for assault, battery and negligence in May, the damages were unspecified. But now, they're specified: Mendoza wants $195,000 in general damages, $16,533.59 for medical bills and $10,000 for any future foot problems.

Mendoza, who was clicking away for TMZ at the time of the incident, let the website auction off the treaded-upon sock he was wearing two years ago, saying that would be that—but apparently it was not.

P.S.: Someone bought that sock, too—for $585! The proceeds were donated to the Children's Defense Fund, so at least some good came out of the whole thing.

Meanwhile, Britney's busy concluding the North American leg of her wildly successful Circus tour. She finishes up in Vegas Saturday and Sunday before heading off to Australia in November.

Britney Custody Order Extended

The following italicized article is from www.tmz.com:

Britney Spears will share 50/50 custody with Kevin Federline at least through the end of the year -- TMZ has learned.

An L.A. County Superior Court judge extended the order that was initially put in place for Britney's concert tour. Under the terms, Britney gets to travel with Sean Preston and Jayden James and must provide K-Fed with a place to stay if he wants to follow them on tour.

Sources tell us the sealed order is very detailed, but Britney gets minimum 50/50 custody and at times even more.

As for Kevin, in addition to the $20,000 a month Britney pays him in child support, he gets between $20,000 and $25,000 a month when the kids are outside of California.

At the end of the year the judge will reevaluate custody. We're told it's looking like a 50/50 split is the way of the future.

Alanis Morissette's Reaction to Britney's You Oughta Know Cover

Judge Puts Lawsuit Against Britney Spears and Parents On Hold

The following italicized article is from www.dailynews.com:

judge has put a hold on a lawsuit by Britney Spears' former self-professed manager against the pop star and her parents pending the outcome of an appeal of an earlier ruling in the case by the singer's mother.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Zaven V. Sinanian issued his order Thursday, nearly two months after he declined to grant Lynne Spears' motion to be taken out of the case filed by Osama "Sam" Lutfi. Lutfi alleges she made false statements in a tell-all book.

Sinanian also ordered all parties to try to resolve the case in mediation. He set a status conference for March 8.

Lutfi's lawyer, Bryan J. Freedman, downplayed the delay in the case.

"The stay was agreed upon to allow time for Lynne Spears' appeal of her loss of her motion to strike Lutfi's lawsuit," Freedman said. "I fully expect that after she loses her appeal she will understand the reality that the only issue left will be how much the damage award against her will be."

In his 13-page ruling handed down in July, Sinanian found that lawyers for Lutfi had established a "prima facie claim for defamation, assuming the statements were made falsely" by the pop star's mother, Lynne Spears.

Lutfi's suit maintains that Lynne Spears' book, "Through the Storm, A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World," contains false information, including that Lutfi admitted he threw away Britney's phone chargers and disabled her house phones in an attempt to isolate her from her family.

Lutfi's lawsuit also alleges that the singer's father, Jamie Spears, punched him in the chest at the entertainer's home in January 2008 and that the singer herself still owes him money for management fees.

Lynne Spears' lawyer, Michael Adler, argued in court documents that the claims by Lutfi for libel and defamation should have been dismissed because they interfered with her right to free speech. He also asked the judge to throw out an allegation of intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Adler noted in his court papers that some of the statements in Lynne Spears' book recount -- often word for word -- what she said in a defamation- proof court declaration in favor of the issuance of a temporary restraining order to protect her daughter against Lutfi.

But in rejecting Adler's motion in its entirety, Sinanian, who had the case under submission for six days, said there is evidence that Lynne Spears made statements with "reckless disregard for the truth."

The Lutfi suit was filed Feb. 3, four days after Britney Spears was granted a temporary restraining order against Lutfi, her 36-year-old former boyfriend Adnan Ghalib and attorney Jon Eardley, forbidding all three from having contact with her, her parents and her two sons.

The order was later extended until 2012 against Ghalib first, then later until the same year against the other two men, as well.

Lutfi has appealed the order.

Britney Spears Makes a Spectacle of Herself at Don (in a Good Way)

The following italicized article is from www.elpasotimes.com:

One doesn't go to a Britney Spears concert for the music. Or the singing. You go for the spectacle.

You should have gone Monday night.

Talk about sensory overload.

Her "The Circus Starring Britney Spears," which packed the Don Haskins Center with nearly 12,000 people, is by far the recovering pop star's most lavish extravaganza yet, trotting out acrobats, gymnasts, circus clowns, musicians and a cadre of well-chiseled dancers on an ingenious stage set that simulates a freakish three-ring throwdown, complete with one big and two smaller, adjoining stages that filled the arena floor and looked like giant bullseyes.

The image is appropriate. Spears either sees herself as a victim of prowling paparazzi and a media infatuated with her every destructive move, seemingly unaware or unwilling to admit that those addicted to the spotlight often bring a lot of that bad voodoo on themselves.

"Circus" is Spears' reclamation tour, her stab at not only making a lot of money and resurrecting her once-sagging career, but a chance to dazzle her fans and reshape her battered image. Let's face it, before dad Jamie Spears took over her career last year, the former teen pop princess was on the road to nowhere.

He's got her back on track, supporting "Circus," a decent album of club-infused techno pop, with a lavish, over-the-top show that packs more costume changes, choreography and edgy beats-per-minute dance thump into 100 minutes than you're likely to see anywhere, much less El Paso, a sizable city that rarely hosts a top-grossing tour of the year like this one.

The fans couldn't have appeared happier. The largely young, largely female crowd seemed to eat it all up, saving its most enthusiastic applause for the final "Electro Circ" third of the show, when Spears, her invisible band (including former El Pasoan Johnny Najera on guitar) and cadre of dancers worked up some drastically reworked, clubbier versions of "I'm a Slave 4 U," "Toxic," one of her best hits, and "... Baby One More Time," her first hit.

The stage, created in part by El Paso's Steve Dixon (her tour director), is just the right vehicle for an over-the-big-top artist. Its three surfaces give Spears, who deserves a medal for dancing so well on high heels throughout the show, plenty of area with which to work the room while showcasing what she does best - dance.

The show's got a lot of eye-popping razzle dazzle and high-speed, high-flexibility dance moves, including a fun, lightly Bollywood version of "Me Against the Music."

Spears was largely muted through the show, rarely addressing the crowd. But she takes some serious chances, focusing mostly on material from her last two albums, not the lot of them, and serving up drastically reworked versions of her most familiar songs. She also stopped the proceedings long enough to thank the cheering crowd and offer up a rare live vocal on "Everytime," a ballad she butchered four years ago on her last tour, but nailed Monday night.

The show started on time and worked like clockwork Monday. Kristiana DeBarge got the crowd going with a very brief, two song set that included her club hit "Goodbye," followed by 2007 "American Idol" winner Jordin Sparks, a big-voiced singer who's still growing into the performer's role, but is a much more confident and powerful singer than she used to be.

Spears may not sing live much in the show, a blessing for those of us who appreciate a good voice like Sparks', but it's obvious that she's growing comfortable in her 27-year-old skin. Like I said before, you don't go to one of her shows for the singing. You go for the spectacle, and on Monday night she delivered big time.

New Message From Britney

Meeting Britney : Life Mission Completed!

The following italicized article is from www.danieltalks.com:

So it finally happend . . . I MET BRITNEY SPEARS! Aye, I still can’t believe that it even happened. My hands still tremble as I try to remember it so i can write it all out for you to read. Here are the deets!

The Contest.

KISS FM, in Des Moines, was holding a contest to meet Britney while she was in town for her show and so I thought I would try my luck and enter on the last day of the contest. I had to write why I wanted to meet Britney and it could only be 1000 characters long. At first, I was afraid that I couldn’t compress everything that I wanted to say into two short paragraphs, but I did my best and sent it in. I remember thinking that I probably wouldn’t win and I didn’t even say a prayer.

The Call.

The contest ended a week before Britney’s Circus show and I was casually checking my email everyday the week of her show just to re-assure myself that I hadn’t won. It was Thursday and I still hadn’t gotten an email and I was sure that I didn’t win because the concert was the next day. So I just let it slip my mind for the rest of the day.

I had left my phone on vibrate in my school bag and after dinner I decided to check it to see if I got any texts from my friend, Michi. Instead, I found two missed calls from a number that I didn’t know and a voicemail. I didn’t think anything of it but I decided to check the voicemail and I heard . . . “This is Greg Chace with KISS FM . . .” I immediately hung up and called the uknown number, I didn’t even listen to the rest of the message. I knew exactly why they were calling me.

Greg Chace answered and I blurted out “HI, MY NAME IS DANIEL HODAPP! YOU CALLED ME? WAS IT ABOUT BRITNEY?” He asked me a series of questions that only a person who read my contest entry would know. I answered “YES” to every question and then he asked me the final question “Are you going to freak out when you meet her tomorrow?” All I could manage to say was “HUH?, WHAT?, ARE YOUR KIDDING ME?, SERIOUSLY?, OMG! . . . OMG!”, while jumping up and down like a lil girl. After the call, I was trembling and couldn’t move for like 5 minutes. Then, I proceeded to call everyone on my speed dial and spread the good news.

Best day of my life.

I woke up and started my usual daily routine of getting ready and then, while I was brushing my teeth, it hit me! I was going to meet BRITNEY SPEARS TODAY! A wave of nerves came over me and I judged whether or not to attend class that day or just stay home and prepare myself. I decided to go to class like a good student and I ended up telling everyone that I interacted with that day that I was going to meet Britney. I couldn’t help telling people but no one seemed to mind so I just kept telling my story over and over lol.

I was finished with class at 3PM so that left me about four hours to get my ass ready and down to Wells Fargo Arena. I ended up getting to the venue way early but who could really blame me, right? I paced nervously around the lobby until I spotted the other contest winner, Ashley. We both still couldn’t believe that we were mere minutes away from meeting Britney. We met with Brit’s promo rep and she instructed us to meet her after Jordin Spark’s opening performance on the floor of the arena . I took my seat and half watched Jordin’s performance and just preparing myself mentally. I didn’t know what to expect.

When Jordin was done, I downed a bottle of Mike’s Hard lemonade and proceeded to the floor to meet Britney’s rep. Ashley and I found our way to floor and met two other couples from other cities and states. The rep appeared from under the stage and asked us if we were ready to go backstage. We all said yes at the same time lol. I felt like the “choosen one” while walking around the floor of the arena to the backstage area. It was the best feeling ever!

While backstage, I got to meet Britney’s tour manager, Adam Leber, some of her tour assistants, circus clowns, a wee man, and Jason (Brit’s rumored BF).

And then it happened. The security guards announced that “the boss” was coming through and then the door of Britney’s dressing room opened. My face lit up when I saw Britney emerge from the room. I was beeming . . . I had forgotten what I was going to say to her. . . I forgot about Ashley . . . I managed to say that My brother and I were huge fans, to which she replyed, “Aw, you guys are very sweet” “Lets take a picture” and then we posed and I told her “thanks so much” and she replied ” No problem, enjoy the show!”

It happened so fast that I felt like it was a dream. Ashley broke down after we left Britney’s sight and I had to pull her together and tell her that everything is okay and that this is nothing to cry about and to be happy. I was shocked that I didn’t pass out or just flip out. I was calm, cool, and collected. I guess that lemonade helped a lot LOL.

I know . . . I know . . . I wrote a novel. . . but can you really blame me? I think not!

Yoko Ono: Britney Spears Is a Survivor

The following italicized article is from www.usmagazine.com:

Britney Spears has come a long way, but Yoko Ono, John Lennon's 76-year-old widow, thinks the pop star deserves more respect.

"I think that the world was not fair to her, and they're just using her and not dignifying her," she told Usmagazine.com at the ThreeAsFour Homage to Yoko Ono on Thursday in NYC.

Up until last year, headlines bearing Spears' name reported on her bizarre psychotic behaviors, drug use, and a tumultuous custody battle with ex Kevin Federline over her two sons, Sean Preston, 4, and Jayden James, 3.

Now, Spears, 27, is hard at work promoting her sixth album, Circus, on a sold-out international tour.

"I think she's a survivor and she's doing very well," Ono told Us.
