Rep: Britney’s ‘Hold It Against Me’ Video Not Dropping After Super Bowl

The following italicized article is from www.acceshollywood.com:

Britney Spears fans will have to wait a little bit longer than Super Bowl Sunday before they see the video for her new single, “Hold It Against Me.”

Despite an online report claming the pop star will debut the video in between the game and a special Sunday episode of “Glee,” Britney’s manager, Larry Rudolph, told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush that this is not true.

“Definitely not premiering Super Bowl Sunday!” Larry told Billy on Wednesday morning.

The latest Britney rumor comes on the heels of another online report that the pop princess was scheduled to perform at the upcoming Grammy Awards, which her rep also shot down.

According to Britney’s Twitter, the video is still in the works.

“I’m so excited to see the 1st cut of the #HIAM video next week. I asked for more pics to send to you guys. Hopefully tmw…. – Brit,” she Tweeted on Tuesday.

I’m actually too stunned to write anything intelligible right now, but it must be said:

According to both Perez and my own sources (you know, the same ones that led to my “Hold It Against Me” Excluusive), this is actually happening. CONFIRMED.

EDIT: Oh, so you want MOAR? Okay, I’ll give you more–but seriously, hold onto your wigs:

I’m hearing we’re getting A MEDLEY OF HITS,
plus a performance of “Hold It Against Me.”

Shaking and crying does not even slightly describe what I’m feeling right now…TREMORS AND TEARDROPS. TREMORS. AND. TEARDROPS.

''3'' Submitted for Grammy's

Jive has submitted ''3'' for the following categories:

Britney Spears
Record of the Year – 3
Song of the Year – 3
Best Female Pop Vocal Performance – 3
Best Short Form Music Video – 3

Not sumbitting ''3'' for Best Dance Recording is almost as hilarious as who ever sumbitted ''Bionic'' for Record of the Year. I swear, Heidi Montag getting a Grammy is more likely to happen than that.

Britney Spears Earns Grammy Nomination for Best Dance Recording with 'Womanizer'

Britney Spears has scored a Grammy nomination for her No. 1 hit single "Womanizer" in the Best Dance Recording category. Spears previously earned a Grammy win in the same category with her mesmerizing hit "Toxic" in 2004.

"Womanizer" was the lead single from her sixth studio album Circus and climbed to the coveted No. 1 position on Billboard's Hot 100 Singles chart. The song rocketed to No. 1 in over 10 countries outside of the U.S. In addition to setting new records with the song last December, the global icon earned critical-accolades: Rolling Stone praised "Womanizer" as an "electro-glam stomp" and went on to describe the song as "head-boppingly hypnotic." Overall, The New York Times praised Circus, noting that "most of her new songs are crisp, cunning dance pop..." Upon the release of the album, Spears became the first female ever to have five No. 1 album debuts, and both the single and album resonated with her fans as evident by the sales. "Womanizer" sold close to 3.5 million combined digital/mobile units domestically while the album has sold 3.4 million units worldwide to date.

Spears, who has just wrapped up her international tour, recently set another record when she became the first artist in over three years to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart with her new song, "3." The catchy song is from Britney Spears' new album The Singles Collection which hit stores last month. "3" has already sold over one million tracks and is presently the No. 2 pop song in the country (Source: Mediabase) and ranks No. 10 (with a bullet) on Billboard's Hot 100 Singles chart.

Jive Records is Pushing for Multiple Grammy Nominations

The following italicized article is from www.examiner.com:

Submissions for the 2010 Grammy Awards won’t take place until September of 2009, but we are told that Jive Records will push for the final nail in Britney’s comeback: several Grammy nominations. Her album, Circus, was released in November of 2008 and has been one of the biggest selling albums of the past year. All her singles, “Womanizer,” “Circus,” and “If U Seek Amy,” have been major hits as well.

Some may laugh at the prospect of Britney Spears winning several Grammies. However, Grammy voters not only love comebacks, but have also been more keen to dance music lately. The only categories that Britney doesn’t have a chance in are Best Female Pop Vocal Performance (for obvious reasons) and Song of the Year. She is definitely ripe for an Album of the Year nomination as well as one for Record of the Year. She’s also ripe for Best Pop Album.

One year ago, everybody was saying that Britney Spears was over with. Now, Britney is filling up arenas at top ticket prices during one of the worst recessions ever. One has to not only credit Ms. Spears for curbing her destructive behavior, but her management, father, and Jive Records deserve thumbs up as well.

And a source tells the publication, "She's worn it several times, She says it has a positive energy, and it just makes her smile."

Britney Spears attacks Amy Winehouse’s Grammy performance

The following italicized article is taken from www.showbispy.com:

Bitter Britney Spears reportedly attacked Amy Winehouse’s amazing Grammy Awards performance - even shrieking: “She is so obviously stoned!”

Spears’ last public performance, at the MTV Video Music Awards, was so universally mocked and criticized - many wondered if it would kill off her career. But that did not stop the star trashing most of the people on-stage at the Grammys, even having harsh words for former Beatle Ringo Starr, according to a friend who was with her when she watched the show.

“Too bad the least talented Beatle was the one who showed up,” Britney reportedly sniped. “They should have got Paul [McCartney].”

But the harshest words were for five-award winner Amy - and also the most ironic, given Britney’s own last big performance.

The friend insists Britney could not get over how “stoned” Amy looked - even though most people thought the British singer was in good form and the biggest attack against Britney for her VMA’s performance was SHE looked stoned. “Look at her! Look how stoned she is!,” Britney screamed at her friends, according to a U.S. report. “She is so obviously stoned!”

Britney told her friends that the show was “a mess”, according to the U.S report, especially the parts celebrating the 50-year history of the Grammys. “They didn’t explain to kids why the old stuff was important,” she reportedly complained.

One performance she did love, however, was Tina Turner - but not her partner on-stage, Beyonce. “She sure knows how to toss her hair,” Britney said sarcastically. “Too bad she can’t dance as good as Tina — who’s old enough to be her grandmother!”

Along with raving about “how great” she thought Turner’s performance was, Spears was moved to tears by Kanye West’s emotionally charged tribute to his late mother, Donda West, as he performed “Hey Mama”.

And she also loved another part of the show - the hat worn by John Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono, saying she would “kill for it”.

The star was also full of criticism for Recording Academy president Neil Portnow who was an almost constant presence throughout the show. “Nobody knows who he is … and they care less,” said Spears, according to the friend.

Britney Spears: The Grammy Awards Can "Kiss My A--"

The following italicized article is taken from www.usmagazine.com:

Don't count on Britney Spears making a surprise appearance at tonight's Grammy Awards.

When asked if she was attending the Grammys tonight, the one-time winner screamed, "Kiss my a--!" at photographers following a session at Millennium Dance Studios in North Hollywood Saturday.

The singer spent about two hours rehearsing at the dance studio yesterday.

Clad in ripped fishnet tights, her favorite brown boots and with her newly caramel hair in a knot on top of her head, Spears took two smoke breaks and spoke in a British accent briefly.

Her father Jamie checked up on her around 5:45 p.m.

The singer left solo in a chauffeured Escalade (instead of her new $50,000 Mercedes) at 6:30 p.m.
