Britney Spears's Lawyers Won't Quit Case

The following italicized article is taken from www.people.com:

Britney Spears's legal team, headed by Sorrell Trope, will continue litigating her custody battle – despite having filed a request to be excused from the case on Jan. 2.

Asked if they were indeed staying on, one of her attorneys, Anne Kiley, replied, "Yes, we are," but gave no further details.

The law firm of Trope & Trope previously stated in a request: "There has been a breakdown in communications between [Spears] and Trope & Trope making further representation of her interests impossible." A hearing on the matter was set for Feb. 4.

However, court spokeswoman Meredith Pierce confirmed Wednesday that the firm's request had been withdrawn.

Earlier in the day, Spears's lawyers sought visitation rights for the singer, but were not successful. The pop star arrived at the courthouse for the morning hearing, but left shortly thereafter without entering the courtroom.

Last week, Spears lost visitation of sons Preston, 2, and Jayden, 1, indefinitely following a four-hour custody standoff and her brief hospitalization.

Britney's Bipolar Treatment Plan

The following italicized article is taken from www.tmz.com:

TMZ has learned the general nature of the medical intervention for Britney Spears.

As we first reported, Britney is suffering from some sort of bipolar disorder. For months, Commissioner Scott Gordon has repeatedly ordered her to undergo psychological tests, but she has not complied.

Brit's divorce lawyers have devised a plan to get Brit into treatment. Sources now say it's outpatient treatment that would allow professionals to "evaluate and treat" her condition.

We're told Britney is "receptive" to the idea, but it's not a done deal. If it happens, the process will start imminently.

Kaplan Speaks, But Not About Britney & Adnan!

The following italicized article is taken from www.x17online.com:

After Wednesday's emergency hearing, Kevin's attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan held a press conference to answer reporter's questions.

Kaplan broke it down for the crowd in plain English:

Basically, the court has decided to address the matters brought up this morning in the scheduled February hearing. So, "nothing's changed".

Then, when we asked him if Kevin was comfortable with Britney having Adnan around the kids, he replied "that's what you call an assumption of a fact not an evidence."

Huh?

Ya think he coulda translated that one for us, too?

Adnan: Who Wouldn't Marry Brit?

The following italicized article is taken from www.pagesix.com:

Wife AzLynn Berry may be through with Adnan Ghalib, but when it comes to Britney Spears, the photographer told The Insider last night, "This relationship is far from over."

In fact, Adnan's focus is squarely on his future with the troubled pop star. When asked if he would marry Brit if she proposed, he replied, "Would anybody say no?" And then, of course, there's the matter of those pregnancy tests the two were spotted buying on January 14. "I think she was hoping she was pregnant with my child," the 35-year-old pap said of the purchase.

But whether it's Adnan's or someone else's, he thinks she wants another baby — period. Funny, then, that a recording of Britney covering Ace of Base's classic "All That She Wants" (complete the lyric...) has popped up today.

Adnan also defended himself in the interview, claiming he has not latched on to Brit in order to sell pictures of her. "In time, I think people will understand that." He backed up the assertion with glowing descriptions of the 26-year-old mother of two. "The beautiful thing about Britney is she's very spontaneous," he said (that's one way to put it). "Unless you take the time to scratch the surface and see what's really within," you can't "understand how truly, truly amazing she is.'

Sounds great — so why all the haters? "People don't like happy in Hollywood. People don't want fairy-tale endings. I don't think anybody wants her to be happy... whatever it takes, scandal sells."

And given his career, Adnan should know.

Brit's Lawyers To Commish -- We Have A Plan...

The following italicized article is taken from www.tmz.com:

TMZ has learned Brit's lawyers did exactly what we told you they would do -- they asked Commissioner Scott Gordon today for visitation in a therapeutic setting, but it went over like a lead balloon.

As we first reported, Britney's lawyers know they're up against it -- their client has some sort of bipolar disorder but has refused to commit herself to a mental hospital for evaluation and treatment. She cannot be involuntarily committed. So, her lawyers and family have devised a "creative way" of treating Brit, and they wanted the Commish to let her visit the kids while she undergoes treatment.

We're told Commish Gordon was unmoved, especially since he has repeatedly ordered Brit to undergo a court-ordered psych evaluation, but she has refused.

We're also told Brit's lawyers said this "creative" treatment has not yet commenced.

Visitation Stays The Same

The following italicized article is taken from www.tmz.com:

Britney Spears was shut down in her attempt to regain some sort of visitation. There are no changes. K-Fed has sole custody and no visitation for Brit for now.
.
Brit arrived at the courthouse and went through the metal detector but then had a change of heart and didn't want to go inside the courtroom.
.
Sources told TMZ Brit wanted visitation restored in a "therapeutic setting" -- meaning under the treatment of medical professionals -- but that wasn't gonna happen, especially since she never showed to make a plea.

Oh, and if Adnan thinks he's Britney's boyfriend -- he needs to watch this video to see what Brit has to say about that.

Britney Again Bolts From Courthouse

The following italicized article is taken from www.people.com:

Once again, Britney Spears arrived for a custody hearing Wednesday – then left the courthouse before it began.

The emergency hearing, which the pop singer had requested, was then held with ex-husband Kevin Federline in the courtroom.

It was a replay of last week's hearing, when Spears showed up at the courthouse only to depart, missing a session in which she lost all access to sons Preston, 2, and Jayden, 1.

Neither Spears nor Federline is required to attend the hearings.

They arrived separately at the downtown Los Angeles courthouse Wednesday morning. Federline was seen entering the courtroom, but a court spokesman said Spears had left in her Mercedes.

Spears, 26, lost visitation rights indefinitely following her brief hospitalization earlier this month after a four-hour custody standoff involving police.

On Monday, she was questioned for 45 minutes by Federline attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan in what the lawyer called a "gut-wrenching" deposition.

Britney Leaves Court!

The following italicized article is taken from www.ok-magazine.com:

That was quick -- Britney Spears arrived to the L.A. County Courthouse for her emergency hearing Wednesday morning and abruptly left an hour later before the session took place, OK! has learned."

She just left the building in a silver Mercedes," the source tells OK!. "No one knows where she's going or who was driving her. We don't know if it's Adnan's [Ghalib] car."

After numerous no-shows and tardy appearances, the troubled pop star pulled up to the courthouse minutes before 9 a.m. PST for an emergency session she herself requested regarding visitation rights with her sons, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, which she lost last week.

Donning a black ruffled satin cocktail dress, 5-in. gold heels, bright red lipstick and her signature shades, the 26-year-old was escorted by Sam Lutfi and a bodyguard from the Regency Beverly Wilshire Hotel, where she and Adnan Ghalib had spent the night, a source tells OK!.

WTF -- Britney Left??

The following italicized article is taken from www.tmz.com:

Britney left?!? TMZ was in the courtroom when the case was called. Britney was in the building, but never made it to the courtroom. When the Commish asked her attorney if she was coming back, she answered "I don't know whether she'll be here or not," adding, "I don't want to delay the hearing."

K-Fed was sworn in and the media were cleared from the courtroom.

As we reported, Brit's lawyers want to restore visitation in a "therapeutic setting" -- translated: she needs mental help. If Brit isn't there to testify, she'll win a Grammy for "Blackout" before she gets visitation back.

The New Adnan Ghalib Interview!

The following italicized article is taken from www.theinsideronline.com:

BRITNEY SPEARS' paparazzo boyfriend ADNAN GHALIB answers the questions everyone wants to know: Is he in love with her, or using her to sell photos?

The speculation that their relationship is a ruse to boost his career is something he adamantly denies, saying, "No, no never -- and in time I think people will understand that."

But he hesitates when asked if Britney might be pregnant with his child. The two were seen buying a pregnancy test at a drug store. "I think she hoped she was pregnant with my child, I don't know," he says. "I think she felt that she was. She has a very maternal instinct. She was feeling some of the same feelings she felt when she was pregnant."

Perhaps the most burning question is whether or not they're still a couple. Rumors have been flying that they split and Britney took out a restraining order against him.

"I would tell you this relationship is far from over," he says.

Indeed, the two were spotted out together just last night as Britney's Mercedes was swiped by a passing motorcyclist.

Tonight, more of the bombshell interview only we can show you, when Adnan speaks out about her hospital lockdown and answers the question: was she suicidal?
