Britney Spears Still <3s Her Starbucks

Wee … remember those bygone days when the most scandalous thing to occupy Britney Spears’s day was a trip to Starbucks for a caffeinated drink? Well, it looks like those days are here again … Brit Brit ventured out yesterday in search of a coffee fix and managed to limit herself to picking up just two Starbucks beverages:
Okay … so mebbe it’s a little over-the-top to celebrate something as menial as a trip to Starbucks … but I’m just reminded of those innocent days when this was pretty much all that Britney did. Pre-crazy, pre-Paris Hilton, pre-Kevin Federline … it wasn’t that long ago. Oversized sunglasses and a Starbucks cup firmly in hand was the dress code for all Hollywood “It” Girls … pardon me if I’m feeling a bit nostalgic. Sorry, I’m gonna need a tissue to wipe away my teary eyes … this is a beyootiful sight :)

Britney Spears Sells Her Studio City Home

Our dear Britney Spears, who wowed the world yesterday with the official release of her new track Womanizer, has decided to sell off her Studio City manse as quickly as possible. You may recall that this home was the site of Britney’s infamous mental break-down this past January (the house she was removed from via stretcher) as well as, I’m sure, numerous other bad memories (involving those leeches Sam Lutfi and cousin Ali Sims) … which is exactly why wants to get rid of it:

Britney Spears is so desperate to sell her massive mansion that she has posed for photos in the many rooms for the sales catalogue! The popstar is apparently keen to get rid of the £4 Million house because it reminds Brit of her drug problems and her mental breakdown. The pics show off the flash six-bedroom house- described as an “exquisite gated Italian Renaissance-inspired villa”- with her son’s toys scattered around the floor. Neighbours will be pleased to see the back of Britney after the chaotic scenes that have happened outside the house and paparazzi intrusion. Spears — whose new album will be out later this year — is looking for a new house at the moment and reportedly wants more privacy.

I say, “Good Riddance!” That place was a den of tragedy and I fully support her getting rid of it. I remember, not so fondly, that when Britney wasn’t roaming the streets of LA at all hours of the night last year, she was holed up in this mansion out of sight and in the sole care of Sam Lutfi. I shudder to think of the things that might’ve happened in those walls. Britney has a new lease on life and should move on into fresh, happy surroundings. This is just another clear indication that she is finally taking charge of her life and is serious about staying on the right and healthy path.

Britney Spears’ “Womanizer” Hits The Air

The following italicized article is from www.reuters.com:

Britney Spears is making her comeback — again. First step: release a catchy single. And so, on Friday Britney’s song “Womanizer” finally hit airwaves, four days after its scheduled release and a week after a snippet was leaked.

The song is an upbeat if slightly repetitive electropop number lasting about 3:40. It comes off Spears’ album “Circus,” which is set to be released on her 27th birthday on Dec. 2. The song was produced by The Outsyders, a group based in Atlanta.

It has lyrics that include: “You say I’m crazy/ I got your crazy/You’re nothing but a womanizer” In the song’s chorus, Britney sings, “Boy, don’t try to front/I-I know just-just what you are/Womanizer, you’re a womanizer, baby.”

It remains to be seen what Britney’s fans think of the song, but it’s definitely catchy. In a snap judgment, the Los Angeles Times music blog Soundboard reached the conclusion that “Britney is back. She actually seems to be awake this time.”

Last year in late August, Britney released a song, “Gimme More,” which was also billed as a “comeback” tunes after months of Britney finding herself making headlines for erratic behavior. At that time, she was embroiled in a bitter custody battle over her two sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline.

She sang “Gimme More” at the MTV Video Music Awards in September ‘07, but was panned by fans and critics. By January of this year, she found herself in a Los Angeles-area hospital under psychiatric evaluation.

But since February, after her father and lawyers took control of her affairs, Britney has seemed to be on the mend. In fact, at this year’s MTV VMAs, Britney won three awards for her song, “Piece of Me.”

So one wonders: could this “comeback” be the real deal.

Lynne Spears Used Argument To Get Daughter's Attention

The following italicized article is from www.contactmusic.com:

BRITNEY SPEARS' mum LYNNE has revealed she and her estranged husband JAMIE used an argument between her daughter and then-manager SAM LUTFI to "start taking charge" of their troubled daughter's affairs.

Spears claims Lutfi had shut her out of Britney's life, but the singer's parents knew it was time to take action when it appeared she was heading towards a nervous breakdown.

She explains, "We had police calling us telling us things that were going on. That's when we said, 'We've got to do something, we prayed about it.'

"We had been trying to get in; we couldn't... When she had an argument with that individual, who I just don't even want to talk about, that was the opening and we took advantage of it, we got in and that's when we were able to start taking charge."

Speaking out on American Idol host Ryan Seacrest's Los Angeles radio show, Spears confirmed Lufti was the "individual" she was referring to.

Shortly after Lynne and Jamie took charge of their daughter's personal and professional affairs at the beginning of 2008, Jamie was made a co-conservator of the pop star's estate and the couple was granted a restraining order against Lutfi.

Snap Judgment On Britney Spears' 'Womanizer'

The following italicized article is from www.latimes.com:

And so we awaken to a new Britney Spears single to distract us from the collapse of yet another major financial institution. (Shout out to all my peeps in the "Washington Mutual" state!) "Womanizer" is just the shot of Jolt Cola pop fans need right now: It's mechanical as heck, sure, and predictable too, but somehow it still draws you in. More like grabs your collar, forces you down onto a cane-back chair and yanks you in. Oh, wait, that's the choreography for the upcoming video.

The good: Retro-futurism takes a roller coaster ride via the snappy staccato beats crafted by the young Atlanta-based production team the Outsydas. It's clean and contemporary but also invokes the quick-witted style of vocal groups like the Andrews Sisters -- a style Brit's rival, Christina Aguilera, has mined to great success before. The highly manipulated vocal complements Brit's Mississippi Valley Girl diction; though she's been turned into a robot (again), she actually sounds engaged. And the lyric, about the kind of girl power that's focused on besting one obnoxious man, is also vintage and contemporary at the same time -- more feminism as individualism, which we all know is hot at the moment.

The bad: This song most emphatically does not swing. The very things that pull in a listener -- the song's jerky repetitiveness, the catchy staccato elements, Britney's voice pushed against your ear -- are going to get really irritating after three days of this song being everywhere.

The conclusion: Britney's back. She actually seems to be awake this time. This is only the beginning.

'Womanizer' Review

The Britney Spears comeback story now has a soundtrack.

Her new single “Womanizer,” which made its debut this morning on Z100 (either three days early or four days late depending on whose timetable you believe), is the first musical sign that she may actually be putting her troubled past behind her.

“Womanizer,” from the Atlanta production team The Outsyders, is an upbeat dance number that crosses her hit “Toxic” with some of the Euro-influenced dance sound from last year’s “Blackout” and adds some pointed lyrics. “You say I’m crazy? I got your ‘crazy,’” sings Spears. “You’re nothing but a womanizer.”

It’s catchy, but more noteworthy is that it involves some tongue-twisting lyrics and doesn’t heavily process Spears’ vocals, meaning that she had to be engaged in the recording process – something that was not evident for “Blackout.”

At this point, can’t we all just admit “Blackout” wasn’t very good? (I know many of you disagreed at the time, but do you still feel that way?) Despite some really catchy songs, it just sounded sad, like Spears vocals were assembled by robots because she couldn’t string two sentences together. “Blackout” hasn’t even broken the 900,000 sales mark yet, despite its massive, car-crash-gawking opening sales week of nearly 300,000 last November.

“Womanizer” is a sign that Spears’ sixth album “Circus,” due out Dec. 2, will fare far better.

New Britney Spears Single Hits Radio

The following italicized article is from www.billboard.com:

"Womanizer," the first single from Britney Spears' upcoming album "Circus," hit U.S. radio outlets this morning. The track, produced by up-and-coming Atlanta team the Outsyders, has a thick, synthy sound that should lend itself to remixes and club play.

Lyrically, "Womanizer" finds Spears rebuffing the advances of man with the "swagger of champions." "Must mistake me as a sucker / To think that I would be a victim not another / Say it, play it how you wanna / But no way I'm ever gonna fall for you," she sings.

Among the other contributors on "Circus" are Dr. Luke, who wrote and produced the title cut, Danja, Guy Sigsworth, Max Martin and Bloodshy & Avant. The album's release on Dec. 2 coincides with Spears' 27th birthday.
Although its video isn't quite ready yet, "Womanizer" will play during Monday's (Sept. 29) episode of the MTV show "The Hills."

It’s out! Britney Spears’s first single off her upcoming new album Circus has finally been released. Radio stations across the globe began playing Womanizer early this morning and now, courtesy of Z100 here in NYC, so can you. Click below to hear Womanizer in full:
The track is hot, yo. It sounds infinitely better than the crappy leaked snippet that we got to hear last weekend. I know some folks were worried that the song might not be great after reading the lyrics but, trust me, they work in the actual song. It’s a great up-tempo song … it’s bound to be a megahit. I’ve already listened to it about 5 times, you have to hear it for yourselves. I absolutely love it, so worth the extra few days wait … I gotta know, do you love it?

'Womanizer' Lyrics

Superstar
Where you from, how's it going?
I know you
Gotta clue, what you’re doing?
You can play brand new to all the other chicks out here
But I know what you are, what you are, baby

Look at you
Gettin' more than just re-up
Baby, you
Got all the puppets with their strings up
Fakin' like a good one, but I call 'em like I see 'em
I know what you are, what you are, baby

Womanizer

Boy, don't try to front
I know just what you are

Womanizer

Daddy-O
You got the swagger of champions
Too bad for you
Just can't find the right companion
I guess when you have one too many, makes it hard
It could be easy, but that's who you are, baby

Lollipop
Must mistake me as a sucker
To think that I
Would be a victim not another
Say it, play it how you wanna
But no way I'm ever gonna fall for you, never you, baby

Maybe if we both lived in a different world
It would be all good, and maybe I could be ya girl
But I can't 'cause we don't

Brit's New Vid Bringin' Back the Wigs!

The following italicized article is from www.extratv.warnerbros.com:

"Extra" has the inside scoop about Britney Spears' new music video shoot -- wacky wigs, new tats, and kitchens?!

Brit shot the video for her new single "Womanizer" in Downtown Los Angeles yesterday. Scenes were filmed in the Elevate Lounge and inside the kitchen of Takami Sushi and Robata Restaurant. The pop mom missed tucking in sons Sean Preston and Jayden James - when the shoot wrapped past 3:00 AM, but maybe it wasn't her night with them. Britney was escorted by manager Larry Rudolph -- and dusted off her old wig collection for a black bobbed wig with bangs.

It's rumored the recent VMA winner was looking fit. A Takami source had only positive things to say about the restored star. "Britney was in a good mood and looked fit at the shoot." The source also revealed Britney was wearing super-tight pants, possibly leather. At one point she wore a cropped tuxedo vest and sleeveless tux top.

Spears already has half a dozen tattoos, but added even more for the video! Temporary tats covered Britney's left arm. Yes, she's in the pink, and ink.

But "Womanizer" is going to be a lot SEXIER according to Us Magazine. They're saying the vid is going to have a "plenty of erotic choreography." In one scene, Brit's lying on a kitchen counter where straddles him and makes out with a man dressed in a business suit. The scene ends with Britney suggestively slurping up a bowl of cherries!!

Sounds H-O-TTTTTT!!!

‘Womanizer’ Track & Exclusive Video Deets

Wee! I managed to get some inside scoop from the set of Britney Spears’s new music video for the single Womanizer from her upcoming new album Circus. The video was filmed on location last night at Takami Sushi & Robata in downtown LA, which is why she was seen wearing that sassy black wig in the wee hours this morning. But, before we get to the spoilery video deets, let’s talk about the track itself. Popjustice was lucky enough to get a listen to the full track and offers some info about the song as well as our first look at the promo single artwork:
Without wishing to stir up any of that boring Christina vs Britney nonsense, Britney’s new single ‘Womanizer’ is exactly what Christina is trying - and failing - to do with her own new single. We heard the track in full earlier today and while we enjoyed (what we could hear of) the clip that leaked on Monday hearing the track in full - and at full volume - throws the whole thing into a brand new realm of amazingness. Stylistically it shares a lot in common with Rachel Stevens’ ‘Some Girls’ but in Britney terms it’s a brilliantly executed mashup of ‘Toxic’ with the last album’s more insane moments like ‘Ooh Ooh Baby’. Most important thing: it doesn’t fade at the end - the beat drops out while Britney trills the main “YOU’RE A WOMANIZER OH WOMANIZER OH YOU’RE A WOMANIZER BABY” hook. This track lays a really strong foundation for the fully-realised comeback that didn’t quite happen last time and it’s hard not to think of it as a late contender for single of the year. Like we said above, it’s literally quite good.

OMG … love it. I now understand that Womanizer is FINALLY GOING TO MAKE IT TO RADIO TOMORROW, so we should be hearing it for ourselves very, very soon. After the jump, find out some deets from the Womanizer video set including some exclusive info sent to me from an insider on set last night …

People magazine reports that Brit Brit plays a sexy waitress in the video which was shot at the Takami Sushi & Robata restaurant in LA last night:
On Wednesday, the pop star – incognito in a black wig and red lipstick – filmed the video for her upcoming single, “Womanizer,” and will continue shooting Thursday, sources tell PEOPLE. Filming took place Wednesday at Elevate Lounge, a club located within Takami Sushi & Robata restaurant on the 21st floor of an office building in downtown L.A., says a source. In the video, directed by Joseph Kahn (who worked with Spears on “Toxic” and “Stronger”), she plays a waitress. Dancers arrived at the shoot Wednesday morning dressed in waiter uniforms of white dress shirts, skinny ties, and black pants or leggings.

OMG, I love it … a little bird in the know tells me that Britney was in a great mood while on set and was never too far from her loyal manager Larry Rudolph who was there to oversee the shoot. Her costume for the video consisted of fake tattoos on her left arm, super tight leather-like pants, a cropped tuxedo vest and sleeveless tuxedo shirt. The video was mostly filmed in Elevate Lounge and one scene was filmed in the Takami kitchen. I can already see it in my head now … I bet the vid is gonna have a very futuristic, Manga-feel to it. I am dying. Firstly, I’m glad to know that her wig reversion has nothing to do with her old crazy ways and everything to do with her bright new future. I am very much looking forward to seeing this video. I hope the rumors are true and Womanizer will be released to radio tomorrow (I hear very early in the day, possibly around 6AM). Let the official comeback commence!

Britney Spears Sucks on Cherries, Straddles Guy in New Video

The following italicized article is from www.usmagazine.com:

Things get steamy in Britney Spears' new music video for "Womanizer."

The singer shot it yesterday at Takami Sushi & Robata Restaurant and Elevate Lounge in Los Angeles.

One witness tells Usmagazine.com it features plenty of "erotic" choreography. (According to a leaked copy of the single, lyrics include: "Boy don’t try to front / I know just what gets you off.")

In one scene, Spears (who wears tight, black leather pants and fake tattoos on her arms in the video) lies on a kitchen counter and later straddles and makes out with a man dressed in business suit.

The scene continues with Spears sucking on cherries or dangling them around her mouth, all while straddling and crawling all over the man, the witness says.

All the hot and heavy action didn't seem to faze Spears.

"She seems to be all business," the witness told Us. "She'd just do one thing after another and then on to the next."

Spears worked up a sweat — her black bob wig was rubbing off on her forehead, says the witness — and an appetite.

For lunch, she ate three pieces of cheese pizza.
