Britney Creates Winter Wonderland

The following italicized article is from www.thesun.co.uk:

The pop superstar has gone to town on her outdoor festive lighting in the same way excitable Clark did in 1989 comedy National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

The Toxic singer has caked her sprawling Calabasas, California, property in miles of fairy lights, glowing rooftop angels, Santas, little drummer boys, baubles, stars and an illuminated Father Christmas.

Even Britney-knockers must agree she's created a magical setting for her two young sons SEAN PRESTON and JAYDEN JAMES this Yuletide.

Christmas Comes Early for Britney's Boys

The following Italicized article is from www.ok-magazine.com:

Britney Spears may have torn up Manhattan on Tuesday night celebrating her 27th birthday, but on Wednesday, it was all about spending time with her boys.

On Wednesday afternoon, Brit took Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden James, 2, on a major shopping spree at NYC's famous FAO Schwarz toy store, where an eyewitness tells OK! she spent hundreds on toys for her two adorable tots.

"Each of the boys had one of those soldier guys (employees) to walk around with, and they each had a huge metal trolley cart to fill up," says a witness who was in the store. "They picked out hundreds of dollars worth of MacK Trucks, cement mixers and RC cars."

Brit brought her parents Jamie and Lynn Spears along for the trip and for good reason! Someone had to hold all the stuff! Spies tell OK! the boys were treated to anything they could get their tiny hands on!

"Sean really fell in love with a car transporter, which he had taken out of the box so he could hold it everywhere he went. Jayden was most excited about a little blue plane, and cried when someone tried to take it away."

A fellow shopper tells OK! that the boys tore through the store, much to the chagrin of Brit, Jamie and Lynn, who seemed happy to tag along behind, enjoying their excitement.

"Jamie picked out a stuffed Incredible Hulk toy for Sean and was saying to him, 'Who's this, Sean? Who's this?'".

It seems like nothing was too good for Brit's boys, who trotted happily around the store with their grandparents, stopping to listen to Christmas songs being tapped out on the giant foot piano made famous in the movie Big.

"Jayden was sitting on Lynn's knee, grinning," a witness tells OK!.

Britney Was Never Scheduled To Perform At Rockefeller Center Tree-Lighting

The following Italicized article is from www.accesshollywood.com:

Despite a rousing performance on “Good Morning America” of her hit single, “Womanizer,” and online reports that Britney Spears had pulled out of a scheduled live performance for the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree-lighting ceremony, Access Hollywood has learned that the pop star was never scheduled to perform live.

A NBC source told Access Hollywood that Britney was never due to perform at the festive holiday event. Instead Britney pre-taped an appearance for the NBC special, which takes place tonight.

Live performers scheduled for tonight include Miley Cyrus, The Jonas Brothers, Beyonce, Stephen Colbert, The Muppets, and more.

The pop star’s appearance is just one of the many events keeping her busy this week. On Tuesday, her sixth studio album, “Circus” was released, coinciding with her 27th birthday.

Britney celebrated with a circus themed extravaganza at New York City’s Tenjune nightclub with fellow celebs Lance Bass, Heidi Klum, Ciara, Jeremy Piven, Will.i.Am, Russell Simmons, Josh Lucas, and Wade Robson.

Britney’s mom Lynne Spears, dad Jamie Spears, and manager Larry Rudolph were also in attendance.

Britney Spears Lights Up New York City

Britney Spears was on hand last evening to help the City of New York light the Xmas tree at Rockefeller Center for a pre-taped event that will air on the live TV special featuring BeyoncĂ©, Jamie Foxx and more on NBC tonight. As you may recall, Britney got her day off to an early start yesterday when she appeared on Good Morning America in the early AM and it looks like she just kept on going. Here are a few pics of Britney (looking absolutely gorgeous) taping a segment at the Rockefeller Center New York City Tree Lighting Ceremony event last night and some info on the NBC special that airs later on tonight:Rockefeller Center is about to get a lot brighter. On Wednesday evening, the 76th Christmas tree-lighting ceremony will be held in midtown. The eight-ton 72-foot Norway spruce will be illuminated at 8:58 p.m. in the center’s plaza near the skating rink and the gilded statue depicting Prometheus bringing fire to mankind. The tree, which is 40 feet round, has been decorated with 30,000 energy-efficient LED lights on 5 miles of wire, topped with a massive crystal star. It was donated by the Varanyak family in Hamilton Twp., N.J. Beyonce, Tony Bennett, Harry Connick, Jr., and Jamie Foxx are among the entertainers scheduled to perform. While the first official lighting was in 1933, the first Rockefeller Center Christmas tree was put up two years earlier during the Depression in the mud by workers building the Art Deco complex. Among those expected to attend the ceremony is a Pascagoula, Miss., family whose new home was built in part with lumber from last year’s Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, an 84-foot-tall Norway spruce. Tracey Davison and her four young daughters were displaced by Hurricane Katrina. They had moved into their first apartment just two days before the storm nearly destroyed their neighborhood near the Gulf Coast. Subsequently, Davison, a 40-year-old assistant teacher, and her daughters, with a few suitcases and bags in tow, lived in a friend’s home, at her brother’s, in a docked cruise ship and a Federal Emergency Management Agency trailer. Then Davison and Ashunti, 10, Nylah, 9, Majsa, 8, and Karly, 4, were chosen to receive a new Habitat for Humanity home that former President Jimmy Carter, among others, helped build, Davison said. The three-bedroom baby blue home was finished in September and the family moved in a couple of weeks ago. Davison says she pays a “very affordable” mortgage. Lumber from last year’s Rockefeller Center tree was used to build two-by-fours that were placed in the walls and floors in the home’s living room, Davison said. “It’s kinda like Christmas before Christmas,” Davison said after arriving in New York City. “It was a dream come true. We’re very very excited to be in the house.”

Aww … it sounds like a really great event this year. I’m glad that Britney was able to be a part of it (methinks that Brit Brit will be flying back to SoCal sometime today, which is why she won’t be on the live special tonight — I understand that she will be appearing live on The Ellen DeGeneres Show tomorrow, tho). I managed to make my way up to Rockefeller Center Monday afternoon and I got to see the massive unlit tree. The tree and the ice skating are two of the most beloved Xmas traditions that NYC has to offer … at this point, it really is beginning to look a lot like Xmas. OY!

OK! Exclusive: Inside Britney's Diva-Licious Birthday

The following Italicized article is from www.ok-magazine.com:

Is Britney Spears starting to crack under the pressure?

Following a pair of performances on Good Morning America on Tuesday morning, the superstar birthday girl was back to her some of her old diva tricks as she arrived more than an hour late to shoot her pre-taped segment for the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony at NYC's Rockefeller Center.

"You have no idea how many times Britney has changed things on us, at least 14 times since I got here on Thursday," a source connected to the TV special tells OK!. "It is Britney Spears and she can do that because they want her to boost ratings, but no one is happy putting up with this. I probably shouldn't say this, but guys on the crew were making bets about whether she would show up at all."

One eyewitness tells OK! that Britney had been scheduled to appear live on Wednesday night's broadcast, but that plan was ultimately scrapped in favor of a pre-taped "message."

"She was originally supposed to perform live and then she wanted to pre-tape her performance instead," the source says. "Then she didn't want to do that. She keeps changing her mind and now she's not performing at all."

Following her delayed appearance at Rockefeller Plaza, where it took multiple takes for Britney to record her "Happy Holidays" message, it was off to the Rainbow Room high atop 30 Rock.

Looking elegant in a sexy black dress with her hair swept up, Brit and an entourage of 11, including her manager Larry Rudolph, her assistant, security guards, parents Jamie and Lynne Spears and her boys Sean Preston and Jayden James, sat at a table overlooking Manhattan.

An eyewitness tells OK! that the group dined on carpachio for appetizers and later ate salad, risotto and had a choice of chicken or beef from a pre-set menu.

At one point, Jayden started crying and Britney pulled the toddler on to her lap.

"Jayden kept screaming 'Daddy', it was so sad," the eyewitness tells OK!. "She asked for a high chair. Jayden was throwing a tantrum so Britney picked him up and walked outside. As she did, she literally snapped her fingers at her security guards who immediately got up and followed her outside."

Nanny to the rescue! After failed attempts to calm her son down, Brit finally handed him off to a nanny who quickly left the restaurant.

In the meantime, Britney's other son, Sean Preston, was having a great old time sitting happily next to his grandma, Lynne. Towards the end of the night, servers brought out a giant triple layer chocolate cake with berries and everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to Britney. The table then enjoyed a round of celebratory bellinis.

"Britney ate only the smallest bite of her birthday cake!" the eyewitness tells OK!. "She must be on a strict diet."

Jamie Spears Nixes $20,000 Britney Spears Holiday Card Photoshoot

The following italicized article is from www.popcrunch.com:

Papa Jamie Spears is taking special care to ensure that his little cash cow daughter, pop star Britney Spears, doesn’t fork over any of her hard-earned cash without securing his approval first.

And that’s precisely why Brit won’t be sending out any high-quality, glossy Christmas cards this holiday season.

We hear Jamie, who has indefinitely been placed as conservator over all of the 26-year-old’s affairs, recently pulled the plug on an elaborate photoshoot Britney had planned for this year’s family Christmas card after discovering the pictures came with a $20,000 pricetag.

“She wanted to rent real reindeer and even buy fake snow,” a Spears snitch spills in this week’s edition of Star Magazine. But when Jamie, who as her conservator has control of her finances, heard the bill would be $20,000, he hit the roof. “He asked why she couldn’t just put the kids in Christmas sweaters and use her digital camera.”
