DA Rolls Over on Britney Foot-Fault Case

The following italicized article is from www.eonline.com:

Britney Spears' hands are clean as far as the paparazzi's feet are concerned.

The Los Angeles District Attorney has declined to file charges against the tarnished popster, stemming from a photographer's claim that she drove over his foot in November while attempting to steer through the usual shutterbug scrum outside the Four Seasons hotel, E! News confirms.

After reviewing footage of the crowd at the scene, shot by one of the paparazzi on hand, authorities concluded that the "only way the victim’s foot could have been where the video indicates it to be was by the victim placing it in that location," according to the district attorney's report. “There was a lot of noise and confusion as the photographers were jockeying for position.

Spears told police at the time she had no recollection of her car coming into contact with anyone as she motored away from the hotel. The district attorney agreed that there was no evidence to prove the "Gimme More" singer was aware she was voluntarily leaving the scene of an accident.

The accusatory photog filed a complaint in May—six months after the alleged incident—asking that Spears be charged with a felony for leaving the scene of an accident involving an injury.

But Spears ended up escaping the Great Rollover Epidemic of 2007 relatively unscathed. She was also never prosecuted for grazing a sheriff's deputy's foot, and a misdemeanor hit-and-run charge for leaving the scene after bumping into a parked car last year was dropped after she settled up with the owner of the other vehicle.

Britney's Goin' Back To Court! - TWICE This Week!

The following italicized article is from www.x17online.com:

Tue, June 17 -Probate Hearing

Tomorrow, pop princess Britney Spears will be heading to court for another probate hearing pertaining to her conservatorship. This purpose of the hearing is to update the court on Britney's capacity to participate in her own legal proceedings.

Last month's hearing failed to convince Commissioner Reva Goetz that Brit was fit to partake in her own defense; tomorrow's hearing will be the final one before her court case begins in earnest on July 31st.

Wed, June 18 - Traffic Court

Unfortunately, tomorrow's trip to court won't be the only one for Britney this week - she's got another hearing out in Van Nuys on Wednesday on charges of driving without a license last August.

The Good News!

Of course, it's not all bad news - earlier today, the LAPD released documents revealing that they'd be dropping their charges against Brit for running over a photographer's foot last November!

According to the police report, the cops found no evidence to suggest that Britney had been aware that the victim's foot had been struck. Moreover, police found "no proof" in any of the video or photo evidence that Britney had, in fact, rolled over the pap's foot.

Britney's Driving Not As Criminal As It Seems

The following italicized article is from www.tmz.com:

Britney Spears will not be charged over an incident last year in which she allegedly ran over the foot of a paparazzo.

According to the LAPD, Brit was not at fault and the evidence doesn't prove that Brit left the scene of an accident -- since it's impossible to tell whether or not Brit was even aware she ran over the photog's foot.

Britney Spears Won't Be Charged for Running Over Paparazzi's Foot

The following italicized article is from www.usmagazine.com:

Britney Spears won't be charged for allegedly running over a photographer's foot last year, the LAPD decided, according to documents obtained by TMZ.com.

The police determined that the singer was not aware of the November 14, 2007 incident, when she was driving in front of the Four Seasons Hotel in L.A.

A video of Spears driving slowly as a photographer cried out about his foot was widely circulated online at the time.

"The pictures and videos do not show the victim's foot being hit," the police report says.

"[Spears] made a statement to the police indicating she had no recollection of the event and that she was not aware at the time that her car had come in contact with any one," the report says.

UPDATE: Britney Spears Involved in Car Accident

The following italicized article is from www.usmagazine.com:

Britney Spears was involved with a minor car accident Tuesday.

The singer rear-ended a red Ford Explorer on Sunset Blvd. in Beverly Hills, TMZ.com reports.

No injuries were reported and her bodyguard got out to speak to the driver of the SUV, according to TMZ.

"We received no formal request for police service," Officer Sara Faden LAPD Media Relations, told Usmagazine.com. "When a minor car accident happens and there is no medical treatment needed then an exchange of information is all that is needed."

Lutfi Looks to Oust Britney Commish

The following italicized article is from www.eonline.com:

Sam Lutfi is getting with the program. He wouldn't mind changing the channel, though.

Despite having agreed to an extension of the restraining order mandating he stay away at least 250 yards away from Britney Spears, Lutfi filed a motion Friday objecting to the Los Angeles court commissioner who's presiding over the case.

"Sam did agree to a 30-day extension of the restraining order," Lutfi spokesman Michael Sands told E! News on Tuesday. "However, Sam Lutfi is not stipulating to Commissioner [Reva] Goetz. If need be, Lutfi can be heard in front of a Los Angeles Superior Court judge." (View the notice.)

Lutfi, who sources have said was involved in the recent effort to get Spears' conservatorship case moved to federal court, would be willing to appear in court on April 16—the temporary restraining order's new expiration date—to state his position.

"There's nothing out of the ordinary that Sam is doing," Sands insisted. "No person has to agree to a commissioner hearing the case. A commissioner is not a judge. If need be, and if this is going to go on, unfortunately, then [Lutfi wants it] heard in front of a judge. Basically, I just believe that Sam would like all of this to go away."

While a commissioner performs many of the same actions as a judge—a commissioner is also overseeing Spears and Kevin Federline's custody issues—all sides involved have to agree to it.

Sands maintains that the continued scrutiny Lutfi has been subjected to since Jamie and Lynne Spears sought to keep him away from their daughter is unfair.

"I personally have been in touch with LAPD, mental health experts and paramedics who were at the home the night [Jan. 31] of the UCLA intervention," Sands said. "They all gave Sam Lutfi five stars for orchestrating and participating in getting Britney to UCLA."

"I believe that if Sam brought his witnesses to court, need be, it would take the wind out of the conservators' sails," the rep added. "We all should just take it down and just have peace and harmony and everybody be left alone. Let it go away quietly."

In her argument in favor of a restraining order, Lynne Spears filed a declaration last month alleging that Lutfi drugged her daughter, "essentially moved into her home" and went to great lengths to control her life.

OK! Exclusive: Britney Stalker Details Revealed

The following italicized article is from www.ok-magazine.com:

As reported by OK! last night, Britney Spears has recently found herself on the receiving end of a mysterious, obsessed fan, who has been sending the pop star threatening packages. And now OK! can reveal the ghastly details of what has Brit's security team running to the FBI.

"It started about six weeks ago with just letters being sent once a week," a source who has seen the packages reveals to OK!. "And then it quickly escalated to larger packages that now arrive two to three times a week — always to the same L.A. address, but never to one of Britney's homes."

And according to the source, it's a good thing these boxes never made it to the still-recovering singer's doorstep, because what's inside could not be good for her mental state.

"The first thing you see when you open the box is a huge, lavender-colored, battery-operated sex toy," the source tells OK!. "Still with the price tag on it." And alongside the mechanical apparatus are two letters — one handwritten and one written on a computer — both threatening and pornographic in nature.

"The handwritten one is on note paper and it's written in a crazy, all-caps chicken scratch," says the source, who adds that the five-page typed letter contains vivid, pornographic details of the writer's fantasy exploits with Britney, none of which can be printed here.

Perhaps the scariest item inside the package is what some believe to be a picture of the sender — a middle-aged caucasian male with stringy, greasy hair — with the eyes cut out of the photo, in which he appears to be squirting some sort of yellowish liquid into his open mouth.

"It's like something from a bad movie," says the source. "If I hadn't seen it myself, I wouldn't believe it."

Insiders tell OK! that the packages, which come with a return address in the Minneapolis, Minn., area, are immediately handed over to Britney's security team, who in turn hand them over to the FBI for further reviews.

They might also want to hand over this information to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's security people, as the superstar couple's names are scrawled in ink on the outside of each package.

Meanwhile, as another package arrived Saturday morning, Brit was safely shopping with her bodyguard — and a few dozen photographers — for some new footwear at Off Broadway Shoes on Sunset Blvd.

The 26-year-old pop wreck, who's security team is comparable to the secret service since her dad Jamie became her conservator last month, has received creepy letters describing "how to bomb" and letters that include "weird gibberish" about the Middle East and Israel, according to E! News. While no case has been openned by the LAPD at this time, Britney's security detail are reportedly turning all the odd packages and letters over to the FBI.

Report: Britney Receiving Threats?

The following italicized article is from www.ok-magazine.com:

Britney Spears' life has been relatively quiet--until now. E! News is reporting that the former pop princess has been getting numerous threats in the mail, including letters and packages.

A source close to the singer says the disturbing correspondence reportedly includes one letter mentioning "how to bomb" and other "weird gibberish". The threats have become so severe, the source says, that Britney's fam has decided to turn everything over to law enforcement.

"To be safe, her security team is turning it all over to the police and FBI," a friend of the singer said. "A lot of it was disturbing stalker kind of stuff."

A rep for the LAPD would not elaborate but did say that they "have been looking at allegations that have cropped up in the past couple of months."The threatening letters and packages were reportedly sent to multiple addresses linked to Britney.

On Friday a spokesperson for the FBI said the LAPD could not comment on ongoing investigations.

Britney Forwarding Mail to the Feds

The following italicized article is from www.eonline.com:

Britney Spears' next single might end up being a cover of "Return to Sender."

A source close to the songstress tells E! News that Spears has been the recipient of a number of disturbing letters and packages, including at least one letter mentioning "how to bomb" and others containing threatening language and "weird gibberish."

The situation has become so off-putting that Spears' camp is planning to hand the unwelcome mail over to local law enforcement and the FBI, the source said.

Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman Officer Ana Aguirre told E! News that no specific investigation has been launched in connection with Spears' postal drama, as yet, but that authorities "have been looking at allegations that have cropped up in the past couple of months."

An FBI spokesperson says the bureau doesn't comment on ongoing investigations.

According to the Spears insider, the offending communiqués have been sent to multiple locations associated with the "Gimme More" singer. And in addition to the previously mentioned creep-outs were a letter than mentioned Israel and the Middle East (obviously sent by someone confusing Britney Spears, Pop Star, with Britney Spears, Diplomat).

"A lot of it was disturbing stalker kind of stuff," the source said. "But to be safe her security team is turning it all over to the police and FBI."

Police Considering Investigation Into Britney Spears Drugging

The following italicized article is taken from www.usmagazine.com:

Los Angeles Police released a statement yesterday, saying they are looking into allegations that Britney Spears was drugged.

Police Capt. Kyle Jackon said "particular suspects have not yet been fully identified ... at this time we don't know whether or not a formal investigation will be initiated."

LAPD Officer Jason Lee told Usmagazine.com earlier this month, "We are not investigating Sam Lutfi."

In a six-page declaration (released last month), Lynne Spears had accused Lutfi of grinding up Risperdal, a sleeping medication, and Seroquel, an anti-psychotic drug prescribed to treat bipolar disorder, and giving them to the pop singer.

Lutfi himself admitted in an Us Weekly cover story that he had given Britney "a handful of pills" to help her sleep. Britney, Lutfi told Us, agreed that the meds were helping her sleep.

Britney Banned From Beverly Hills Hotel

The following italicized article is taken from www.pagesix.com:

The Beverly Hills Hotel prides itself on being "referred to locally as 'The Pink Palace' … a place to see and be seen, to catch glimpses of famous faces, or to revel in splendid luxury." One face you won't be seeing reveling in splendid luxury, however, is pop wreck Britney Spears. A source at the hotel told PageSix.com that the staff has "specific instructions to turn her away. People come here to get away from that. She brings too much 'trouble' with her."

The source explained that the entire staff was required to attend a meeting recently that was specifically about turning away the "Toxic" mother of two. "There is one person assigned to come outside and start directing the process of getting her turned away," the source revealed.

Although Brit has been denied, our source reveals, "She doesn't listen. She comes back anyway." Like she did on February 6 (pictured), when, fresh out of the psych ward, she checked in to meet with paparazzo boyfriend Adnan Ghalib and an attorney. Paparazzi mobbed the hotel as the singer arrived, and LAPD officers were called in. Later that night, Jamie Spears arrived, allegedly wanting to take his daughter home. Police presence was increased before Brit and Adnan were secretly driven home by another paparazzo.

There's no room at this inn, Britney, but luckily there are plenty more hotels in L.A. that might accommodate you and your traveling circus.

So it's her fault 50+ paparazzi chase her?

L.A. Police Chief to Brit: "Stay Home Airhead!"

The following italicized article is taken from www.ok-magazine.com:

Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton was on a southern California radio show Friday morning, where he had some choice words for Britney Spears. The L.A. County Commissioner wants to pass new legislation that would protect attention-hog celebutants from the Paparazzi. But "Britney's Law" , which claims to curb over aggressive paps, is not going over well with the city's police chief.

On this morning's 89.3 KPCC-FM Radio with Pat Morrison Bratton said:

"What we need is for Britney Spears to stay home instead of traipsing all over town. That would solve the problem. We don't need additional laws...I've got laws coming out my ears to deal with this issue. What you have is several young women in this town and several young men basically making fools of themselves and tying up not only my resources but the resources of the media that would do better covering legitimate stories instead of a bunch of airheads running around out there...Quite clearly some of these characters so favored by the paparazzi are clearly in need of services. Not police services, but psychiatric services."

Whoa Nelly! Tell us how you really feel!

So now it's her fault she gets haunted by paparazzi everytime she goes out?

Judge to Lufti: Stay Away from the Britster

The following italicized article is taken from www.tmz.com:

The federal judge in the Britney Spears conservatorship saga has issued an order extending the restraining order against Sam Lutfi.

According to the order, Lutfi must stay clear of Brit -- and that includes phone contact -- through March 17. What's more, the judge ruled that Lutfi has been properly served with legal papers. Lutfi's rep had challenged today's service of process, but the judge said no problemo.

The judge has already indicated the case is headed back to state court. Lutfi has other problems. As TMZ first reported, LAPD's Robbery Homicide Division is investigating Lutfi for allegedly drugging Brit.

Sam Gets Served-Finally!

The following italicized article is taken from www.ok-magazine.com:

After three weeks of playing hide and seek with authorities, Sam Lutfi was finally served with a temporary restraining order forbidding him from going near Britney Spears.

Brit's former confidante was served at 11 a.m. on Thursday as he left his apartment in West L.A. The restraining order forbids Lutfi from getting within 250 yards of Britney, her homes, her family and their homes. It also alleges that "Mr. Lutfi has drugged Britney. He has cut Britney's home phone line and removed her cell phone chargers. He claims to control everything."

Sam had avoided being served for the last three weeks. Attorneys for Britney's conservators reportedly spent 200 man hours searching him out--to no avail.
At the time the restraining order was sought, Britney's family had been locked in a power struggle with Sam, believing him to blame for her increasingly bizarre behavior.

Sam is also currently being investigated by the LAPD for drugging the former pop star in order to keep her in his control.

Stay tuned for more details!
