Lynne Spears' Tears For Britney

The following italicized article is from www.thesun.co.uk:

BRITNEY SPEARS' mother LYNNE has told how she wept at the recent MTV Video Music Awards - because she was so happy to see her daughter back to her best.

Britney wowed the audience at the Los Angeles event last Sunday when she picked up three awards for her recent musical efforts.

And opening her heart in her gripping new book, Lynne admits it was an overwhelming moment to see her daughter's amazing recovery - just months after the singer's public breakdown which saw her admitted to hospital at the beginning of the year under a mental health order.

Lynne says: "I looked at her on stage and I realised I finally had her back.

"I saw the Britney I remember and love - not the girl I had seen strapped to a stretcher and wheeled into a psychiatric hospital. And tears of relief filled my eyes."

Lynne also recalled her despair as Britney cut her out of her life for seven months.

Britney blamed her mother for forcing her into Promises rehab clinic and siding with ex husband KEVIN FEDERLINE in their divorce battle.

Lynne says: "I was a wreck, worrying myself sick many miles from my confused, hurting daughter.

"I felt hopeless, as if I was losing my grasp on my child."

The pair are now fully reconciled and were together at the weekend as Britney threw a star-studded joint birthday party for her two sons SEAN PRESTON, 3, and JAYDEN JAMES, 3.
Lynne adds: "She is my fighter, my sweetheart. My girl has been to hell and back.

"It has been one hell of a journey. We have taken our first steps on the road to healing our family."

Guests at the car-themed bash included singer GWEN STEFANI, with her two-year-old son KINGSTON, and JIM CARREY'S girlfriend JENNY McCARTHY with her son EVAN, six.

Britney's dad JAMIE, sister JAMIE LYNN and two-month old niece MADDIE BRIANN also joined in the fun.

Britney treated her sons to custom-designed mini motorised cars complete with personalised licence plates and a cake in the shape of a yellow truck.

A source told People.com: "The boys received tons of birthday gifts. Britney and her family really made the party special for the boys."

Britney lost custody of her two sons to Kevin last year and earlier this year lost visitation rights.

But her access to the boys was gradually restored over the summer with the resolution of the former couple's bitter custody battle.

X17 XCLUSIVE: BRITNEY's VMA WARDROBE

The following italicized article is from www.x17online.com:

An inside source reveals EXCLUSIVELY to X17online that Britney Spears will change her outfit not once, not twice but SIX TIMES at this year's MTV Video Music Awards. Donatella Versace designed two outfits for the pop princess, and she will be wearing a vintage Gianni Versace couture gown as well.

We were the first ones to tell you that Britney was going to perform at the VMAs, the video yesterday (see below!) seems to prove it, and now this!

Source: X17

It's Not Happening

We got our hopes up, only to have them CRUSHED.

But, this is probably for the best.

PerezHilton.com just spoke to Britney Spears' manager, Larry Rudolph, and he tells us exclusively that the former and (hopeful) once-again Princess of Pop is NOT performing at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.

She is 100% not performing, Larry assured us, but she will be attending and opening the show.

Rudolph has repeatedly stated recently that Spears was NOT performing, a statement echoed closely by the reps at MTV.

So, what to make of that footage that leaked on Friday that showed Britney rehearsing to a new song of her with some dancers???

"She was not rehearsing for the VMAs," Rudolph tells us. "It was just her going into the studio with some dancer friends and having fun. It's a regular occurrence now. I see that every day."
But we don't! And we got VERY excited.

Well, we think it's wise that Spears wait until she's 110% ready to perform and make a killer comeback.

But, Larry tells us, that day is not too far away!

Britney: The People's Choice!

The following italicized article is from www.x17online.com:

There's no group of fans more loyal than Britney Spears' - and this year's MTV Video Music Awards is proof!

People reports that the pop princess' video for "Piece of Me" has been nominated for Best Female Video thanks to an overwhelming response from online voters. So far, Britney's name is the only one to have leaked to the media, but do the others really matter? It's Britney, bitch!
Wow - between her nomination and her heavily-rumored performance, Britney probably can't wait for the show on September 7th!

Britney Spears Nominated -- By Fans -- For VMA

The following italicized article is from www.showbizspy.com:

Britney Spears still has her fans on her side.

The singer has been shortlisted by MTV voters as one of the nominees at this year's Video Music Awards (VMAs) for 'Piece of Me', it has been revealed.

The votes were cast online. Britney's is the only nominee whose name has come out – the names of the other women in her category remain under wraps. Her competition, as well as contenders for Best Male Video, will be unveiled on Pete Wentz's FN'MTV Friday night at 8 p.m.

The nomination gives the 26-year-old 15 total in her career; however, Britney has yet to score a Moon Man at the award show.

Britney's performance at last year's VMAs was branded the most "perplexing and vilified" in recent award show history.

Many speculated that the lackluster performance was down to Spears being thrown off after hearing comedian Sarah Silverman rehearse her monologue (which ripped Spears and called her kids "mistakes").

As well as being vilified by her fans, three New York newspapers tore into Spears' perceived comeback in their front-section news pages: "Britney Spears phoned it in for her 'comeback' performance ... It was a far cry from her energetic outings at VMAs past," the Daily News wrote.

"Totally lame, pathetically lip-synched," lamented the New York Post. As for "Gimme More," said the paper, "the song about lusting for too much wasn't enough to launch a dinghy, let alone re-launch the career of this ditzy disaster."

The New York Times said of Spears: "She didn't disappoint; she was awful. Visibly nervous, she tottered around the stage, dancing tentatively and doing nothing that sounded or looked like real live singing."

Britney was said to be embarrassed by the performance.

A source told People magazine last year, "She was just plain nervous because of all the hype and she's embarrassed."

Meanwhile, another surprising choice for this year's event: the host. British comedian Russell Brand will take the reigns when the show airs live on September 7, it was confirmed yesterday.

"I've just been invited to do it," Brand said.

"It'll be good to preside over what is sure to be only vaguely coordinated televised insanity.

"That's how I've made my name in [England]: Flying very much by the seat — and the crotch — of my pants."

Brand, 33, was recently criticized for making a hoax call to the emergency services during a stand-up gig.

As previously announced, the teen pop trio The Jonas Brothers will perform at the anything-can-happen event. Other performers and presenters will be announced at a later date.

Fans Nominate Britney Spears for Video Award

The following italicized article is from www.people.com:

Despite last year's disaster at the MTV Video Music Awards, Britney Spears has an invitation to return – from her fans.

The pop star was nominated in online voting for best female video for her Piece of Me at the 2008 VMAs, PEOPLE has learned.

For now, she's the only nominee whose name has come out – the names of the other women in her category remain under wraps.

The big question is whether Spears, 26, will make an appearance at show on Sept. 7 at Paramount studios in L.A. The singer will have to shake off her lackluster performance at the 2007 show in Las Vegas.

Britney Spears Nabs MTV Nom for "Piece of Me"

The following italicized article is from www.eonline.com:

Will Britney Spears make a return to MTV's Video Music Awards in September? The music network has just announced that the well-on-her-way-to-a-comeback pop princess is a nominee for Best Female Video for "Piece of Me."

The rest of this category and the Best Male nominees (as chosen by viewers via online voting) will be announced later today. The show—hosted by British comedian Russell Brand—airs live from Hollywood on Sept. 7.

Lest you forget—but how could you, really?—Spears' performance of "Gimme More" at last year's kudosfest was a jaw-dropping disaster. The big question now is, will Brit try to redeem herself by performing this time around?

Britney Spears Nude for Controversial Madonna Video

The following italicized article is from www.nationalledger.com:

Britney Spears strips nude for Madonna and has been filming a top secret "fetish" video that will be broadcast to the crowd during Madonna's upcoming world tour via 20 foot screens, a new report claims. The two stars will perform a mash-up of the Madonna track Beat Goes On and Brit Brit's Piece Of Me, while they are unwrapped from costumes that can only be described as bondage-fetish mummy. The pair appear in the video nearly nude reports the UK Sun.

The controversial duo, who infamously shared a hot lesbian kiss on stage during the MTV Awards back in 2003, will be wrapped in bandages which will then be unravelled by leather thong-clad male dancers in scenes that are being kept under lock and key. Can this give Madge and Madonna the buzz both need or will this all be a bit much?

An on-set source revealed to the UK Sun: "It's absolutely classic Madonna. Probably the raunchiest stuff she has ever done. It leaves nothing to the imagination and will be very controversial, the paper reports in the Gordon Smart's Bizarre section. The report claims that Britney looks great and is "dressed to kill" in the videos.

The newspaper column plays it up nicely and suggests that the two are ready to leave the kiss behind and move forward with a lot of skin and some serious groping and grinding. See here for a video report and .ore on this controversial collaboration of Britney Spars and Madge.

Madonna and Britney Spears to perform bondage routine together

The following italicized article is from www.welt.de:

The two pop stars, who caused controversy when they kissed at the 2003 MTV Music Awards, will appear in bandages, bondage pants and knee-high boots.

The footage, which will include the pair gyrating against each other, will be screened to fans on Madonna's 'Sticky and Sweet' world tour via 20ft screens. A source said: "It is classic Madonna, probably the raunchiest stuff she has ever done. It leaves nothing to the imagination and it will be very controversial. "Britney and Madonna are unwrapped like mummies to appear together almost naked apart from tiny leather bondage pants and knee-high boots. They then dance closely together, pressing their hands and bodies together.

There will be big rows over whether it is sexy, shocking or both." The pair will perform a mix of Madonna's track 'Beat Goes On' and Britney's 'Piece of Me'. Britney will also dance to Madonna's 1995 hit 'Human Nature', which will include one scene where she loses her mind after getting stuck in a lift.

The source added to Britain's The Sun newspaper: "We'll see her going crazy in an enclosed space - screaming, pulling her hair and banging her fists against the lift's walls as it gets stuck between floors. She really loses it."

Wrap Stars

The following italicized article is from www.thesun.co.uk:

THEY will need to invent a 27th letter of the alphabet to classify this.
If you thought MADONNA and BRITNEY SPEARS’ snog at the MTV Awards in 2003 was X-rated, their latest collaboration makes that look tame.

The Sun revealed on Saturday how the Queen Of Pop and its fallen princess will join forces for Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet tour.which kicks off next month.

Now details of their sessions have reached me — and they are hotter than the Los Angeles police on Britney driving the wrong way up a one-way street with both her sons on her lap.

The pair’s sexy shenanigans will be broadcast to the crowd on Madge’s upcoming world tour via 20ft screens. What a terrifying thought. I hope Britney doesn’t ask if her bum looks big on that.

They will perform a mash-up of Madge track Beat Goes On and Britney’s Piece Of Me, while they are unwrapped from costumes that can only be described as bondage mummy.

The pop duo will be wrapped in BANDAGES which will then be unravelled by leather thong-clad male dancers in scenes that would put even RUSSELL BRAND’s moral compass in a spin.

An on-set source revealed: “It’s absolutely classic Madonna. Probably the raunchiest stuff she has ever done. It leaves nothing to the imagination and will be very controversial.

“Britney and Madonna are unwrapped like mummies, to appear together almost naked apart from tiny leather bondage pants and knee-high boots.

“They then dance closely together, pressing their hands and bodies together.

“There will be big rows over whether it is sexy, shocking or both.”

Crazy

Britney has been filming scenes at a Hollywood studio and was snapped leaving a nearby hair salon looking more spruced up than she has for ages.

It’s good that Madonna is helping her rebuild her career, but I’m still not convinced I’m ready to see her stripped down to her smalls.

The Toxic singer will also perform to Madge’s 1995 track Human Nature.

And in one scene to be broadcast during the tour — which opens in Cardiff on August 23 — Britney loses her mind after getting stuck in a lift in a short film by New York photographer STEVEN KLEIN.

The source added: “We’ll see Spears going crazy in an enclosed space — screaming, pulling her hair and banging her fists on the lift walls as it’s stuck between floors.

“She really loses it.”

I think that’s what luvvies call method acting.

Britney Spears to film footage for Madonna tour

The following italicized article is from www.associatedpress.com:

NEW YORK (AP) — Madonna has recruited Britney Spears for a virtual appearance on her upcoming tour.

"There is footage being shot of Britney some time this week in conjunction with Madonna's upcoming (Sticky & Sweet) tour," Madonna's publicist, Liz Rosenberg, said in an e-mail Tuesday to The Associated Press. "That is all the information I have available. The rest is `a secret.'"

Rosenberg denied reports that Spears, 26, is shooting a music video.

Madonna guest starred in a music video for Spears' single "Me Against the Music" in 2003. The singers stirred up controversy that year with an open-mouth kiss at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Madonna, 49, will kick off her tour Aug. 23 in Cardiff, Wales, and wind through European destinations including London and Paris before jumping to the U.S. in October.

She'll wrap it up Nov. 30 in Mexico City.

Britney Spears To Film Video For Madonna's Sticky & Sweet Tour

The following italicized article is from www.mtv.com:

Madonna personally requested Spears' participation, one source says.

Five years after they famously locked lips at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards, Madonna and Britney Spears are set to work together again. This time, however, their hook-up will be long-distance.

According to People magazine, Spears is slated to film a video piece soon that will be included as part of the stage show for Madonna's upcoming Sticky & Sweet Tour. "Britney is going to film something for Madonna's show in the next week or so," said Madonna's longtime spokesperson, Liz Rosenberg, according to the magazine. Details on what the clip will include, however, were scarce, as Rosenberg declined to comment on what role Spears will play in the production or where she will be filming. "I don't know. It's a secret," she said

She did, however, deny published reports that Spears is in New York to film the video and that she's already shot the bit. This would be the second high-profile cameo for Spears in the past month. She shot some footage for the Pussycat Dolls' "When I Grow Up" video last month, but her part was left on the cutting-room floor at the last minute.

An unnamed source told USMagazine.com that "Madonna specifically asked to work with Britney again." The singers have not shared a stage since the infamous VMA kiss, but Madonna did speak out in Spears' defense earlier this year when the singer was going through some hard personal times.

At the time, Madonna also said she was digging Spears' Blackout album, which she listened to while working out.

Spears' manager, Larry Rudolph, confirmed to "Access Hollywood" that the video tribute would be taking place but quashed rumors that Spears would actually be touring with or performing live with Madonna. The Sticky & Sweet Tour kicks off in the U.S. on October 4 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Britney Spears will team up with Madonna – virtually – during the singer's upcoming Sticky & Sweet tour.

Contrary to published reports, Spears is not in New York to film the video segments, nor has she already shot anything.

Britney To Join Madonna's World Tour In Video

The following italicized article is from www.accesshollywood.com:

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- The last time Madonna and Britney Spears shared a stage together, the pop stars locked lips at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards in a kiss that shocked and delighted their fans.

But now, Access Hollywood has learned the music powerhouses will once again share the stage in Madonna’s upcoming “Sticky & Sweet” world tour-- though not exactly live.

Despite rumors that Brit would join Madge onstage, the blonde duo will appear together, but only through a taped video performance, Access has confirmed.

“Britney’s doing a video piece this week for Madonna’s new tour,” Brit’s manager, Larry Rudolph, told Access.

The duo filmed a portion of the video Sunday that will be used during the concert, a rep for Madonna said.

“Britney shot some footage with Madonna yesterday that will be used during Madonna’s upcoming tour,” the Material Mom’s rep, Liz Rosenberg, confirmed to Access.

As for a surprise appearance by Brit on stage alongside Madonna, fans should not hold their breath, according the rep.

“I do not believe that Britney will be appearing live on the tour,” she added.

Madonna’s “Sticky & Sweet,” with Britney on video, kicks off October 4 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
