Britney Spears: 'What the Hell Was I Thinking?'

The following italicized article is from www.people.com:

In an upcoming documentary, Britney Spears candidly discusses her loneliness and her regrets about her much-publicized erratic behavior.

"I sit there and I'll look back and I'm like: I'm a smart person. What the hell was I thinking?" the pop star says in the 90-minute film, tentatively titled For the Record, produced in partnership with MTV.

In a video clip from the film, the 26-year-old Spears alludes to her tumultuous past: her divorce from Kevin Federline, forced psychiatric hospitalizations and loss of custody of her two sons.

"I've been through a lot in the past two or three years, and there's a lot that people don't know," she says.

"Sometimes I think I get kind of lonely because you don't open the gate up that much, you know I mean?" she adds. "You're guarded. You have to be that way, so I'm kind of stuck in this place and it's like: How do you deal? And you just cope, and that's what I do. I just cope with it, every day."

The documentary airs on MTV on Nov. 30, two days before the release of her new album, Circus.

Best Rumor Ever: Britney to the Diesel Party

The following italicized article is from www.fashionista.com:

Those lucky enough to get an invite to Diesel's huge party on Saturday know it's going to be a blast:

M.I.A., N.E.R.D, and Joel + Benji Madden all in one big warehouse, in Brooklyn, with tons of fashion kids and a red carpet curated by Starworks (read: lots of famous people).

But even the extravaganza that is a Diesel bash can't necessarily contain this rumor:

That Britney Spears is one of the night's surprise performers.

We heard it from an entertainment agent based in the city, and we're like, "Nooooo!" and they're like, "I don't believe it, either, but that's what the rumor is."

Britney At Lawyers Office

Britney Spears looked surprisingly collected as she visited her lawyers office today, it would seem the pop tart would still be quite shaken up following the fender bender her bodyguard got into after they left the store "Wasteland" shortly before stopping by the law offices.

Britney Spears Involved In Another Fender Bender

Our dear Britney Spears, who has been on a pretty successful roll on the positive image train, was involved in a minor car accident yesterday. The bad news is that I’ve already lost count of how many run-ins with other vehicles Britney has been involved in (let’s face it, when Brit was a total mess last year she was hittin’ cars left and right) … the good news is that she was absolutely not at fault this time around — she wasn’t driving. Britters did not let this latest fender bender bring her down, she kept right on shoppin’ and continued on her way totally unphased:
Britney Spears was involved in another car accident with a photographer on Wednesday, just hours after her criminal lawyer rejected a final plea bargain in her driving without a license case. Luckily, Britney was not behind the wheel on Wednesday afternoon. Her bodyguard was driving her to a vintage clothes store in Hollywood when he and a photographer’s car collided. “At appoximately 2pm, Britney was being driven in a white Escalade, when the paparazzi cut her off and one slammed into the back of her car,” a clerk at the store told Usmagazine.com. “She didn’t seem upset by the accident at all,” he said. “She wasn’t driving anyway and it wasn’t bad, it was just a fender bender.” Next week Britney’s trial is set begin on Wednesday. Spears rejected an agreement proposed by the Los Angeles city attorney’s office, in which she would have pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor, paid a $150 fine and served 12 months’ probation, lawyer J. Michael Flanagan told the Los Angeles Times. He suggested Spears was receiving tougher treatment than non-celebrity defendants.

Seriously … it’s like Britney Spears is not meant to be near motorized vehicles. Even when she’s not behind the wheel, accidents tend to still happen. Personally, I think it would be best if she just hired a full-time driver so that she won’t have to worry about being at fault in future run-ins (cuz you know they’re comin’). I understand that Brit went shopping at Wasteland on Melrose Ave. That place has some pretty cool vintage stuff and I imagine that she created quite a stir upon arrival. I sincerely doubt that anything really significant will come from next week’s trial but with Britney Spears, I guess you never know what might happen.

Britney Spears Enters The Wasteland

The following italicized article is from www.justjared.com:

Britney Spears goes out shopping at Wasteland on Melrose Ave in Los Angeles on Wednesday afternoon.

While being driven by her bodyguard, Britney got into a minor fender bender with the paparazzi as she headed to Wasteland to do some shopping.

Prosecutors had offered the 26-year-old pop princess a one-year probation and $150 fine if she pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license, but her lawyer Michael Flanagan rejected the plea and said that Britney was being unfairly targeted because she’s a celebrity. Britney’s trial is set for October 15.

Brit Involved in Fender Bender

The following italicized article is from www.ok-magazine.com:

It just goes to show that you can keep Britney off the roads, but that doesn't guarantee they'll be any safer!

Like a rehashed story from earlier this year, Britney Spears was involved in a minor car accident on Wednesday. And shocker--her car hit an overzealous photog.

TMZ reports the singer was in the back seat of her giant white Cadillac Escalade (Does she know there's a fuel crisis?) when her driver backed into a paparazzo's car.

The Escalade is now sporting a pretty large dent, but no one was hurt. What's a few scratches here and there? Britney made a quick getaway to Wasteland on Melrose in West Hollywood for some good ol' fashioned retail therapy.

Ironically, lawyers for the pop star were back in court today dealing with a case from August of 2007 in which Britney hit a parked car and left the scene without talking to the owner, while driving with an out-of-state liscence.

Brit's attorney reportedly rejected a plea deal that would have resulted in a year probation and a $150 in her misdemeanor license case.

Sigh...it was getting a little too quiet on the Britney front...

Lynne Spears: "I Still Like K-Fed"

The following italicized article is from www.ok-magazine.com:

In a new TV interview, Britney Spears' mother admits that, even after the nasty divorce and even nastier custody battle, she still has a soft spot for former son-in-law Kevin Federline.

"I do like Kevin," Lynne Spears says in an interview set to air Thursday on The Morning Show with Mike And Juliet. "He's been good to us."

Although Lynne admits that she "had reservations" about K Fed when he first got together with her daughter, she and Brit's dad, Jamie Spears, now feel grateful to him.

"He's included Jamie and I," she explains. "He could have been a real pill about a lot of things, but he wasn't... He worked with us, and I think he's tried to make things good for the boys."

Lynne, who has just written the memoir Through the Storm about raising a family in the spotlight, says that she prays that the negative headlines — drugs, surprise pregnancies, bitter divorces — are finally behind Britney and her little sister, Jamie Lynn Spears.

"I just really hope they find their purpose in life and that it's really going to fulfill them to their full potential," she told Mike and Juliet.

When co-host Mike Jerrick asks Lynne if, given the chance to do it all over again, she'd have chosen a different path, she says, "You know what? I don't know. There were certain things that I would do again, of course... But I would always hope that my children would fulfill their dreams. And these were my children's dreams."

See the complete interview on The Morning Show With Mike and Juliet tomorrow. Check listings for local times.

Brit Goes Near Car - Bad Things Happen

The following italicized article is from www.tmz.com:

Britney Spears was in a car accident today, but if prosecutors are listening, don't even think about it.

Britney was in the back seat of her Cadillac Escalade, shopping in West Hollywood, when a paparazzi's vehicle lurched forward, striking Brit's vehicle in the rear -- at least that's Brit's version. Photogs are saying her car backed up and hit the papper. Sources say Britney's peeps are filing a police report this afternoon.

The Escalade took a pretty big dent. As far as we know, no one was hurt. Britney went shopping afterward ... at Wasteland on Melrose. Perfect.

Britney Spears: Another Fender Bender

The following italicized article is from www.celebrity-gossip.net:

What timing! Just after it was announced by Britney Spears’ attorney that she has rejected a final deal from prosecutors for driving without a license - she gets involved in an accident.

Fortunately enough, the “Gimme More” singer wasn’t behind the wheel - as she was being driven by her bodyguard, who ran into a paparazzo’s car as the pop princess headed to shop for new shades at a store called Wasteland in West Hollywood earlier today (October 8).

As previously reported by Gossip Girls, Ms Spears was offered the option of paying $150 and spending one year on probation for her misdemeanor DWOL charge, which would have helped her to avoid going to trial for the case.

The 26-year-old Spears’ attorney, J. Michael Flanagan, claimed that the “Womanizer” singer, who corrected the violation and obtained a valid California driver’s license, should only be charged a small $10 fine. Flanagan has also guaranteed to appeal any convictions that may result. The trial will begin on October 15th.

This was announced a while ago on SonyBMG’s internal website but I thought I’d refrain from posting it until it was oficially announced.

Britney Rejects Plea, Heading to Trial

The following italicized article is from www.eonline.com:

Plea? Puh-leeze.

The attorney in Britney Spears' forever-pending driving-without-a-license case has rejected a final deal from prosecutors.

The seemingly no-brainer offer would have had Spears pay a measly $150 and spend a year on probation in exchange for copping to the misdemeanor charge and avoiding an embarrassing trial in the case.

But the "Womanizer" singer's attorner, J. Michael Flanagan is sticking to his guns that the 26-year-old comeback queen, who long ago corrected the violation and obtained a valid California driver's license, should face nothing more than a $10 fine for her infraction.

That means the trial is on for Oct. 15.

Unsurprisingly, Flanagan has also vowed to appeal any conviction that may result.

The charge stems from an incident that took place at the height of Spears' crazy days in August 2007. She dinged a parked car and left the scene. The subsequent hit-and-run count was dismissed a year ago, but the lesser charge of not having a California license (she did have a valid Louisiana license).

Flanagan has been pulling out all the stops—short of accepting a plea deal, that is—to prevent the case going to trial, asking last month for the trial to be put on hold as Spears, still in a conservatorship, was "unable to participate meaningfully" in the proceedings.

Just yesterday, a three judge panel of the Los Angeles Superior Court unanimously denied his request.

Britney Spears Set to Stand Trial in Driving Without a License Case

The following italicized article is from www.usmagazine.com:

Britney Spears' lawyer shot down a plea deal that would have placed the singer, 26, on a year's probation and forced her to pay a $150 fine in her ongoing misdemeanor driver's license case, the Associated Press reports.

Attorney J. Michael Flanagan says Spears was open to an offer that would have reduced the charge to an infraction and required her to pay a $10 fine.

Her case is now set to go before a jury on Oct. 15. Flanagan plans to appeal any conviction.

In 2007, Spears was charged with misdemeanor driving without a valid California license and hit-and-run following a fender-bender in a store parking lot.

Flanagan tells the AP that Spears is being unfairly targeted because she is a celebrity.

Britney Says NO! To Plea Offer

The following italicized article is from www.x17online.com:

Looks like Brit's going to trial y'all.

Prosecutors going after Brit for driving without a valid California driver's license made a last minute plea offer to end the case before the trial that is set to begin next week. They wanted brit to pay a $150 fine, and receive a year of probation.

But Britney's lawyer, J. Michael Flanagan rejected the deal. "I will not plead her to any criminal offense," he told X17online. Flanagan also said he believes Brit is being treated differently by the court because of her celebrity status. "If it were anyone else, they'd show the court that he or she now has a valid license and that would be the end of it," Flanagan said
