Britney may be appearing at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, according to OK! Magazine.

"It's supposed to be top secret, but everyone is already buzzing about it," a source told OK!. "Her sister, Jamie Lynn, made such a splash at the event last year, Brit knows that she'll get as much, if not more, attention if she shows up this year."

Britney could come face-to-face with Mr. "Fierce" himself, Christian Siriano, as Access Hollywood has enlisted the talents of the "Project Runway" winner, as Access' "Kids' Choice Awards" correspondent.

Britney Getting a Bum Rap?

Britney Spears' attorney is trying his best to steer her out of trouble.

Legal eagle Michael Flanagan tells E! News he's not planning to let the beleaguered singer cop a plea on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a valid California license, saying it's who his client is and not what she did that's keeping this case on the docket.

"Anyone can see this is not the case of the century. The fact is that Britney is being treated differently," he said. "This should be just treated as a fix-it ticket or an infraction."

"Her mother, father, sister all have Louisiana licenses," Flanagan added. "It is a Louisiana family. In California, you have to get a license within 10 days if you are domiciled here.

"But whether you are domiciled is a state of mind. She had a valid Louisiana license at the time of the accident without a mark on her record."

Spears is scheduled to go to trial June 18, a court date her camp is looking to avoid.

Flanagan has drafted a motion to have the case dismissed but, because it's Britney, he'll have to take at least one extra step before he files.

The defendant needs to sign a declaration permitting him to move forward, but Flanagan figures he'll have to get the go-ahead from the 26-year-old divorcée's conservatorship, considering Britney has been ruled temporarily incapable of entering a plea on her own behalf.

"It may be that Jamie or Lynne have to sign for her," the lawyer said. Lynne Spears, Britney's mom, is not part of the conservatorship, however, so it's dad Jamie Spears and his coconservator, attorney Andrew Wallet, whose signatures would be needed to seal the deal.

Britney's vehicular troubles stem from her August 2007 run-in with a parked car that was captured ever-so-efficiently by the ubiquitous paparazzi. Although she eventually settled up with the car's owner, a complaint had already been filed, leading to the invalid license charge.

Rounding out the trio is Britney's fame-hungry cousin-about-town Alli, who had been using her family member to push herself into the spotlight. Except, as soon as Brit was committed for the first time this year, Alli was on a plane to New York City to "work on her album."

Immediately following Brit's release into her father's care, the singing superstar was banned from texting Alli. However, Jamie has recently decided to permit brief phone calls between the pair. “Alli agreed not to be in communication with her close friend Sam Lutfi in order to be granted permission to call and text Britney,” the insider tells OK!.

Only time will tell if Britney is able to succesfully avoid the tempting lure of her former party posse, or if this time in relatively quiet lockdown has helped her to see who really has her best interests in mind.

Britney Spears Propels 'How I Met Your Mother' To Series High

Call it curiosity or possibly fans rooting for a celebrity-underdog, for whatever reason, Britney's appearance on CBS's "How I Met Your Mother" boosted the series to its highest ratings ever in its three-season history with adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, according to preliminary Nielsen ratings.

But what are the critics saying about Britney's performance?

Tom Gliatto of People said Britney managed to jump the acting hurdles she faced, writing, "Her challenge was clear: Demonstrate that, even though she seems in recent months to have been traveling through life on the roaring, ragged edge of a tornado, she could still stop and stand still long enough to perform on camera, be as naturally charming as the role permitted, and let the audience conclude: 'Well, she SEEMS all right. She seems like Britney.'"

He doesn't think the script did enough with the potential triangle between the characters played by Britney, Josh Radnor, and Sarah Chalke.

"[Britney's] best scene came at the very end: Abby, letting herself be seduced by the ridiculously rakish Barney (Neil Patrick Harris), unexpectedly and enthusiastically upped the ante. It was a sort of fantasy validation: This loser secretary, who tried to find herself reading self-help books, was transformed into a fun girl with thoughts only of uncomplicatedly naughty good times," Gliatto writes.

"As she bolted from the office with Harris, it was as if Britney were rushing out to meet her former self," he added.

As for the acting professional's take on Britney's sitcom stint? The pop princess is getting more high marks.

"She did pretty good, there was a sweetness to her, a vulnerability," Charna Halpern, artistic director of Chicago’s Improv Olympic Comedy Club, told Us Magazine. "She looked beautiful and had screen presence, even when she was behind the desk and they made her look kind of homely, she was adorable."

Aliza Shane, senior director of NYC’s Looking Glass Theater agreed, telling Us Britney's role was, “over the top, and she certainly went for it. Clearly, she likes being on camera, no one can argue that!"

On it, she plays a sensitive secretary at a dermatologist's office visited by Josh Radnor's Ted. She appears about, rough estimate, 1,000 percent more engaged than she did at the Video Music Awards.

Spears curiosity factor or no, How I Met Your Mother remained an also-ran on Monday.
