Britney Spears: The Weird Of Oz!

The following italicized article is from www.ok-magazine.com:

It’s certainly been said that Britney Spears lives in a world of her own.

We just didn’t realize that world was… Oz.

When the pop princess popped into the Juicy Couture shop in Manhattan store last week, she took the time to fill in a customer contact form that listed her address as “The Yellow Brick Road”

The Dorothy wannabe, along with three bodyguards and a friend, grabbed up more than $1,500 of clothes in just 20 minutes — that girl moves faster than a winged monkey!

A staff member at the store told OK! that Britney, who had been out and about in the city during her three-night run at Madison Square Garden, didn’t ask for any special treatment.

“We didn’t close down any of the store for her,” says the Juicy employee. “But her bodyguards just blocked off wherever she went so nobody could get near. We do have a VIP cash register, but she didn’t want to use it.”

So what did the comeback kid of 2009 have in her shopping bags when she walked out?

•A flower-shaped mother of pearl ring for $88.

•Black “Perri” suede platforms for $375.

•A pink shawl-neck sweater dress for $248.

•A leopard-print velour hoodie for $158.

•A boho-print sleeveless ruffle top, originally $158, reduced to $79.99.

•A “Banana Seat” maxi dress, originally $328, reduced to $149.

•And a pink-leather braid-detail hand bag for $428.

If only Juicy sold ruby slippers!

The 'Circus' Brings More Than Just Music

The following italicized article is from www.examiner.com:

The Circus Tour staring Britney Spears was a theatrical performance unlike many other concerts. On Sunday August 30, 2009 the tour was showcased in Philadelphia, PA. The Big Apple Circus was a major contributor to the show that needed over 250 crew members, including 50 of them being dancers, magicians, clowns and acrobats, 60 tons of equipment and 34 trucks to carry the gear. The show most importantly included the one and only Britney Spears. The night at the Wachovia Center briefly included Kristina DeBarge and One Call as the opening acts.

The first singer Kristina DeBarge opened up the show performing four songs from her debut album Exposed. For a 19 year old that is new to the industry, she handled herself very well in front of a large audience on such a large stage. She made sure to perform towards all four sides of the arena during her set. Also onstage with her were four dancers. She was choreographed in the steps she took and the dancers worked well around her. She ended her night performing her first single, “Goodbye.”

The next performance to hit the stage was a boy band that featured members that have previously been involved in the music industry. Chris Moy and Jose Bordonada were formal members of the MTV series “Making Menudo,” and Justin Thorne was a member of NLT. The fourth member of the band is AG Gamlieli. They also performed a very quick set. The four members started singing while sitting on wooden stools, but soon turned to signing and dancing. After both opening performances, which only took 20 minutes, fans were informed by a countdown clock that they were less then 30 minutes away from the start of the Circus.

As the Circus began, it started like no one would have predicted. It did not start with the music of Britney Spears playing, but instead the stage was filled with circus performers from the Big Apple Circus. The first set of performers spun and juggled metal fence pieces and metal piped cubes. Then a trampoline act followed. There were two people on the trampoline, a full sized male, and a female legless performer. Following the trampoline act was a balance beam performance like none other. The beam was bendable, and it acted as a way for the two men on each side to bend down and launch the female performer into the air to while she somersaulted and twisted, only to land back on the spring like beam.

It then became time for the main attraction. Britney Spears was lowered into the Circus by means of a ring she stood in as it came down to the floor from the rafters. She wore a gold sequined outfit and performed the song “Circus,” as her opener. The 2007 MTV VMA's she performed and got criticized for has long been forgotten after seeing the way she moved during the entire show. During the song “Piece of Me” Spears climbed into a caged cart and was pulled around stage by her dancers. While in the cage, she moved in a very sexual and seductive way, much like she did for the rest of the night.

With thousands of eyes watching her, Spears needed to perform a show that everyone would remember. Of course all the theatrical and real circus performances that took place before she hit the stage as well as during her costume changes would leave an image to be remembered forever. But what this night really came down to is what songs Spears would perform and how would the crowd remember her for those numbers.

For most performers that have released six studio albums, most of the songs that they play are hit singles from older albums along with some of the songs from their newly released album. Spears however decided to throw in some older songs that never made it as singles. Some of these songs included “Freakshow,” “Get Naked (I Got a Plan)” and “Ooh Ooh Baby.”

This does not mean Spears forgot her singles, as she included “Toxic,” “Break The Ice” and “If U Seek Amy.” During “If U Seek Amy,” Spears wore silver and black lingerie with a pink shawl. She also grabbed a fake pink hammer as the song came to an end. After all the dancers left the stage but four of them, she bopped each of them on their head knocking them down the holes that were open on the stage.

Speaking of her lingerie, many people also come to see Spears perform to see what outfits she would be dressed in. Some of her sexy outfits included a blue-green genie outfit, a white and black sequined bikini top with black boy shorts, and a silver one piece sequined garment.

Towards the end of the show Spears slipped into a pair of red pants, knee high pair of heeled black boots and a black top the showed her midriff. She performed her first hit single “… Baby One More Time”. At the conclusion of the song she was lowered through the door of the stage floor and columns of smoke shut up from around the outline of the stage.

For her encore presentation, Spears wore a sexy police woman’s uniform and she danced through her final song of the night, “Womanizer.” Before exiting the stage for the night, Britney Spears and her dancers took a final bow from the stage as a way to say thank you.

This was surely a circus and concert that can not be compared to any other. Britney is back and in top form. She dances at the level of skill she had during her albums …Baby One More Time, and Oops!... I Did It Again. And she performed and entertained at the level she had after the albums Britney and In The Zone. Job well done to all those who made this tour come alive and you should all be very proud to be part of something so spectacular.

Britney Spears, Jamie Lynn Show Off Bikini Bods in Miami

The following italicized article is from www.usmagazine.com:

Britney and Jamie Lynn Spears showed off their bikini bodies in Miami Monday afternoon.
"They both looked to be in pretty good shape," a witness tells Usmagazine.com of the sisters, who spent about an hour at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel pool Monday afternoon with their kids and parents.

It's the first time 18-year-old Jamie Lynn, who welcomed daughter Maddie in June 2008, has shown off her post-baby body. "She had on a white, spangly top," the witness says. "A very little bikini!"

The family, including Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden James, 2, "sat around the pool for about 20 minutes," the witness says. "Then Britney worked on her tan while Jamie Lynn took her daughter and her mom to a cabana on the beach.

"They seemed pretty relaxed. Everyone was smiling," the witness goes on.

When the weather became overcast around 2 p.m., the family headed inside for lunch, the witness says.

Britney's Circus tour hits Orlando Tuesday night, and Miami on Wednesday.

Britney Brings Her 'Circus' to Town

The following italicized article is from www.philly.com:

Give Britney Spears a little credit: It was a mere 2½ years ago that the pop star, who brought her three-rings-in-the-round "Circus" spectacle to the Wachovia Center on Sunday, was a bald-headed tabloid train wreck with a career seemingly beyond repair.

K-Fed was the least of her concerns: The teen-pop tease had grown up to be the out-of-control poster woman for poor parental decision-making. And when the story got out that the Associated Press had a Spears obituary ready, it seemed only logical, considering what an apparent danger she had become to herself.

Fast-forward to a late summer night in South Philadelphia, and all seems to be going swimmingly in the Spears sphere. Since being shorn of her locks in a Los Angeles tattoo parlor, she's released Blackout (2007) and Circus (2008), two perfectly respectable albums of energetic electro-pop, though the former, superior effort was overshadowed in the public consciousness by her 2007 MTV Video Music Awards near-comatose zombie dance.

And she's certainly found a way to monetize the madness, as one might expect from a New Mickey Mouse Club vet and mother of two. In "Piece of Me," her second song on Sunday, she sang (or at least mouthed the words): "I'm Miss Bad Media Karma, another day, another drama. . . And with a kid on my arm, I'm still an exceptional earner."

I'll say. Ringside seats at the Wachovia went for as much as $495, though most ducats in the almost-full arena were in the standard big pop concert range of $100. The still only 27-year-old Spears was not so long ago making news mainly for going commando in public, but now she's growing her college fund by selling $20 "Hit Me Baby. . ." panties. And for twice that amount, the highly-excited crowd of mostly 25-and-under females could confrontationally express their allegiance with a T-shirt that declared in no uncertain terms: "It's Britney Bitch!" Business was brisk.

And what about the music? It, too, was brisk, relentlessly paced, professionally deployed. Was anybody actually playing it, or was it all on tape? Hard to say. Along with the 12 buff dancers (eight men, four women) always visible, there seemed to be a team of musicians underneath the stage.

Towards the end of an evening that began with a taped intro by Web gossip maven Perez Hilton dressed as Queen Elizabeth I, there were a couple of normally dressed guitarists who appeared to be playing on stage, along with a drummer with a kit provocatively attached to his crotch and a third little-person guitarist holding a miniature instrument. (The Circus theme also included a man on stilts and a magician who sawed Spears in half during "Ooh Ooh Baby.")

At the start, a buff-enough Britney made her entrance in a cage that was lowered from the rafters. Starting in a golden Wonder Woman-style armored bustier, she changed into a series of costumes that were naughty if hardly scandalous, finishing for the ". . .Baby One More Time" closer and "Womanizer" encore in red spandex, black leather boots, and white spectacles. (The intellectual Britney.)

Throughout, she wore a headset microphone and consistently moved her mouth in time with the never all-that-expressive vocals that were pumped through the sound system.

Probably, she was actually singing over pre-recorded tracks that removed any possibility of an aural mishap. Careful binocular observation revealed that she sometimes didn't bother to enunciate her consonants, however; she seemed to sing, "I'm a Slay 4 You," but the audience heard the v sound in "Slave."

As a dancer, Spears can't come close to keeping up with her able-bodied employees. But then, she doesn't pretend to try, either. The Circus show - which, curiously, left out one of her biggest hits, "Oops! . . . I Did It Again," though it did include the divinely baroque dance-floor masterpiece "Toxic" - is an extremely physical enterprise. And the star of the show was constantly in motion, moving purposefully with little skip steps from one end of the stage to the next, or perhaps being lifted above it while sitting on the backs of two male dancers attached to wires who had contorted themselves, Cirque du Soleil-style, into an airborne bench for their blonde temptress.

Spears fans were deliriously happy to be in the same room with one of the biggest brand-name superstars in the world, and the object of their affection worked hard enough to put on a properly sensory-overloaded show, with a stage that shot off smoke jets and lit up in a burning ring of fire as Brit floated above it, as if in a hot air balloon. The evening ended in a cascade of sparkling fireworks and de rigeur confetti falling from the sky.

Britney Spears & Jason Trawick Cool Things Off

The following italicized article is from www.ok-magazine.com:

Amid rumors of an impending engagement, Britney Spears is putting her romance with her agent Jason Trawick on ice. On Aug. 21, Brit headed to NYC and settled in to prepare for her three-day concert stint at Madison Square Garden. Meanwhile, her beau Jason kept himself busy on the opposite coast at West Hollywood’s Crown bar, chatting with a bevy of women.

“He was surrounded by girls and entertaining them,” an eyewitness tells OK!.

While this certainly isn’t the behavior of a man in a relationship, Jason can’t be held accountable because he and Brit are no longer romantically involved. “They are taking some time apart,” says a source close to the singer, who performed the first of her Big Apple shows on Aug. 24.

A second insider tells OK!, “She told him she needed to get back on her own two feet before moving forward. Jason was disappointed, but he understood.”

But is this it for the twosome? Maybe not.

“Jason’s always loved her, [even] since the Justin Timberlake days, so he won’t let her go easily. He’s giving her space — that’s what she’s asked for.”

The Power of Britney

Britney Causes A 'Circus' Circus

It was a surprisingly sunny 6 p.m. I finished up work yesterday with plans to attend a movie screening only two blocks away. I popped in my earbuds, clicked over to the new Green Day album and began walking from my office to the screening room. But as soon as I turned onto 48th Street, I noticed a huge crowd blocking off most of Seventh Avenue.

"Oooh, car accident," I thought, because that's where my morbid mind immediately moseys to. But there was nary a busted taillight in sight. What I could see were hundreds, nay thousands, or screaming fans foisting cameras above their heads in hopes of taking a picture of someone ... somewhere.

britney-spears-nyc-msg.jpg
Then I saw it. Or more accurately, her. Yes, Britney Spears was perched across the block from me, separated by but rows and rows of people, atop a blue bus. Then I remembered that she was holding a "If You Seek" Britney Twitter contest yesterday, leaving clues as to her location all over NYC. If you found her, you got front row tickets to her show last night.

Great idea ... in theory. As the cops held people behind barriers and yelled at pedestrians to "keep it moving" traffic came to a standstill during the busiest time of day -- in the heart of Manhattan.

But no one seemed to care -- especially the "Oops...I Did It Again" t-shirt clad tweenybopper who punched me in the gut as she made her way toward the front of the mob. "Watch it," she shouted at me, continuing my fascination with people who run into stationary objects, chastising him/her/it for being in the way.

Such is the power of Britney!

Britney Spears Brings Her Sexy Circus To Madison Square Garden

The following italicized article is from www.mtv.com:

Britney Spears pulled out all the stops for her first night of three shows at Madison Square Garden on Monday. Donning several different sexy outfits and addressing the crowd a few times, Spears definitely showed her critics that she can still charm an arena full of fans.

After opening acts Kristinia DeBarge and Jordin Sparks finished their sets, the Circus began. First came acrobats on trampolines, then the opening video of Perez Hilton dressed as a queen presenting the show's ringmaster, Spears herself.

Spears descended from the ceiling dressed in a shiny metal bodysuit, starting the show off with her single "Circus." She then hopped in a cage with male dancers dressed in S&M gear for "Piece of Me."

Britney broke out a slew of fan favorites, like "Radar" (complete with pole dancing), "Boys," (during which she requested the male dancers do push-ups for her) and "If U Seek Amy," which segued into Spears reemerging onstage in her genie attire for "In the Zone."

But the crowd got most excited when Spears addressed them directly, asking how everyone was doing before saying, "I'm going to do a ballad. It's called 'Everytime.' " She then wiped something away from her cheek — it seemed she got a bit emotional while floating above the stage in the arm of a giant umbrella.

Spears spoke to the fans again, asking, "What's up New York?" before launching into a remixed version of "I'm a Slave 4 U" sporting a sparkly black bodysuit.

"Toxic" also wowed the crowd as Britney performed the hit in skintight red pants, a black sports bra and knee-high boots. Her last song before the encore was a remixed version of her classic, " ... Baby One More Time."

As she took the stage for final time, a video featuring the most memorable images from her music videos played as the music for "Womanizer" kicked in. Dressed as a policewoman, she closed the show with a blaze of fireworks, addressing the crowd one more time before taking her bow, saying, "Have a wonderful night."

Britney Spears Is 'Really Sweet,' Says Tour Opener Kristinia DeBarge

The following italicized article is from www.mtv.com:

Kristinia DeBarge will be hitting the stage as an opening act on Monday when Britney Spears brings her Circus tour to Madison Square Garden for three nights. And DeBarge says that Miss Spears has been nothing but kind since the newcomer joined the show for the tour's second leg.

"Well, I've only talked to her once ... but she's really sweet and she told me that her kids love my songs," DeBarge, who is also up for a Video Music Award, told MTV News. "I thought that was sweet ... it was really brief and short, but she's really nice. So we'll see how it goes."

And although the group hasn't been on the road for very long, DeBarge has already assessed how the tour is going. "I'm definitely starting to feel a little bit tired. I haven't even started to go that much deep into the tour yet," she said, adding that the first two shows went over well for her and for the fans.

"They went really well. The first show was a lot of fun," she said. "I remember hearing the audience and getting chills — I've been dreaming about this since I can remember talking."

And although she is now living the dream of having a spot opening up for Britney, there was a time not too long ago when that opportunity didn't even seem like a possibility. "Well, the first time that I was told I would be opening up for her I didn't believe it. I was in the studio recording one of my songs called 'Powerless,' " she said. "I thought they were just joking with me. I was really excited."

Joined by her trusty security staffer, the “Gimme More” singer smiled as she pointed out landmarks to her buzzed-up sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

As previously reported by Gossip Center, Miss Spears spent the previous evening escorting the boys to the Broadway show version of “The Little Mermaid”.

As for her extended “Circus” tour - Brit Brit’s lined up for a three night run beginning this evening at Madison Square Garden.

Britney Spears and Her Boys Go Under the Sea

The following italicized article is from www.eonline.com:

Britney Spears is in the Big Apple for work, but she made time to take her sons to a Broadway show Sunday afternoon.

Brit, Sean Preston and Jayden James arrived for a matinee performance of The Little Mermaid, starring Drew Seeley, just before the curtain went up.

"The audience was so excited about her being here," a source tells E! News. "They snapped photos as she walked down the aisle, but no one bothered her once she was seated."
So how'd her sons like the show?

A source says the boys were very well-behaved and drank water and Coke during intermission.

"Her kids loved the undersea adventure so much, they even asked Britney if they can see it again," says a source.

The singer politely declined show merchandise offered to her, along with a chance to meet the cast afterward, and made a quick exit as soon as the show ended.

Spears joins Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Katie Holmes and David and Victoria Beckham on the list of celebrity parents who have taken their little ones to see the show since it premiered on Broadway.

On Monday night, Spears will be back onstage performing her Circus tour at Madison Square Garden.
