Following up on his petition to collect "replacement compensation" for the month of February for being the coconservator of his daughter's estate, Jamie Spears stated in a declaration filed June 6 that, starting Feb. 1, when he was first given control over Britney's affairs following her second hospitalization this year, he was with her "on a near-twenty-four-hour basis to ensure her safety and well-being."

A court commissioner did not allocate $2,500 a week for the elder Spears—plus funds to lease a car—until March 3.

"After Britney was released from the hospital, I brought Britney home and secured her living and care situation," Spears said.

"Throughout the time period, I ran errands, including buying groceries and cooking supper on a daily basis. I talked frequently with Britney about her health status...I arranged for Britney’s transport and security to go shopping and so that she could teach a dance class."

The Spears family's current arrangement is in effect until at least July 31, when the conservatorship issue is due to be revisited in court.

Jamie Spears also included time spent with the kids—grandsons Jayden James and Sean Preston and ex-son-in-law Kevin Federline—as well as meetings with Britney's lawyers and doctors, in his list of billable accomplishments over the month of February.

“I visited with Britney’s children and their father, Mr. Federline,” he stated. “I met and consulted attorneys. I also continued to consult with and meet Britney’s doctors and care providers.”

In his original petition to collect what more or less amounts to back pay, Spears' attorney wrote that his client, who had been working as a caterer, had "been forced to forego [sic] other employment in order to devote his full time and attention to Britney and her affairs" and had "lost his regular source of income from which to pay his living expenses."

DA Rolls Over on Britney Foot-Fault Case

The Los Angeles District Attorney has declined to file charges against the tarnished popster, stemming from a photographer's claim that she drove over his foot in November while attempting to steer through the usual shutterbug scrum outside the Four Seasons hotel, E! News confirms.

After reviewing footage of the crowd at the scene, shot by one of the paparazzi on hand, authorities concluded that the "only way the victim’s foot could have been where the video indicates it to be was by the victim placing it in that location," according to the district attorney's report. “There was a lot of noise and confusion as the photographers were jockeying for position.

Spears told police at the time she had no recollection of her car coming into contact with anyone as she motored away from the hotel. The district attorney agreed that there was no evidence to prove the "Gimme More" singer was aware she was voluntarily leaving the scene of an accident.

The accusatory photog filed a complaint in May—six months after the alleged incident—asking that Spears be charged with a felony for leaving the scene of an accident involving an injury.

But Spears ended up escaping the Great Rollover Epidemic of 2007 relatively unscathed. She was also never prosecuted for grazing a sheriff's deputy's foot, and a misdemeanor hit-and-run charge for leaving the scene after bumping into a parked car last year was dropped after she settled up with the owner of the other vehicle.

Britney's Goin' Back To Court! - TWICE This Week!

Tomorrow, pop princess Britney Spears will be heading to court for another probate hearing pertaining to her conservatorship. This purpose of the hearing is to update the court on Britney's capacity to participate in her own legal proceedings.

Last month's hearing failed to convince Commissioner Reva Goetz that Brit was fit to partake in her own defense; tomorrow's hearing will be the final one before her court case begins in earnest on July 31st.

Unfortunately, tomorrow's trip to court won't be the only one for Britney this week - she's got another hearing out in Van Nuys on Wednesday on charges of driving without a license last August.

The Good News!

Of course, it's not all bad news - earlier today, the LAPD released documents revealing that they'd be dropping their charges against Brit for running over a photographer's foot last November!

According to the police report, the cops found no evidence to suggest that Britney had been aware that the victim's foot had been struck. Moreover, police found "no proof" in any of the video or photo evidence that Britney had, in fact, rolled over the pap's foot.

Yes, indeed, what a difference a few months makes … but it also goes to show that removing dangerous people from her life also makes a huge, positive difference as well. I am just so happy that Britney finally healed the rift that existed between her and her family and wisened up enough to let them help her sort out her messy life. I’m utterly convinced that Britney was being controlled (either by manipulation or by drugs or both) by scurrilous leeches in her life who contributed to her downward spiral. Consider, Sam Lutfi, her cousin Alli Sims and former photog Adnan Ghalib (who used to be by her side constantly) haven’t been allowed near Britney for months … and in that time she has won back visitation rights with her children, has made 2 successful appearances on prime time TV and has started looking healthier than she has looked in months … perhaps years. She finally has the real chance to win her life back and she is showing that she is serious about staying stable and is serious about making a return to form. Ex-hubby Kevin Federline may have sojourned to Las Vegas to pick up an award from a nightclub but Britney made her way to Vegas to attain something more precious … an amazing weekend with the man who, quite possibly, saved her life — her father.

Britney reportedly attended the CineVegas Film Festival yesterday evening in Las Vegas. Interesting... Britney has had several meetings with George Maloof recently, dinners and vacations with actor and director Mel Gibson, as well as appearing on two episode of CBS' "How I Met Your Mother."

"Everyone was there, including the film critics and reporters, the filmmakers, and the CineVegas pass-holders," reports Cinematical.com. "Of course, she wasn't mingling with the hoi polloi. The pool area has several private-ish covered booths where VIPs chill, and Britney mostly stayed in one of them. It honestly looked like a zoo exhibit, with everyone standing around gawking at Britney Spears in a re-creation of her natural habitat... She was kept company by two guy friends, a girl friend, and plenty of Grey Goose, and she never really looked at the crowd." Those two guy friends were her security, and the "girl friend" was her assistant. As for the Grey Goose, count her out.

The reporter continues to say everyone began whipping out their cell phones to text message their friends about who had just arrived. Britney's security was none-too-pleased about this thinking they make snap a pic of the pop princess, and demanded that phones be put away. "I happened to be standing near her zoo exhibit when I texted someone, and one of the burly, black-clad bodyguards who stood between her and the crowd said, "You better put that away." His tone indicated that he knew I was only sending a text, but that I better not get any ideas about taking pictures. Goodness knows the last thing a reclusive, timid creature like Britney Spears wants is for someone to have a photographic depiction of her likeness, to join the 13,829,387,225,177,981 other pictures of her that already exist. Well, I guess Spederline prolly thought it best that they enjoy separate weekends despite the fact that they are both in Vegas at the same time. I’m not sure what the relationship is between Britney and Kevin at this point in their lives (they rarely see each other in person, the kids get handed off between parents by way of bodyguards and nannies). I would imagine that they are friendly but it looks like they aren’t friendly enough to enjoy one another’s company while on vacation. Meh, as long as Britters is enjoying herself with her father and K-Fed is happy with his trophy … that’s all that really matters.

Judge Holds Hastily-Called Hearing In Britney Spears Custody Case
