The star checked out a performance of musical In The Heights during her trip to New York last week, to promote her new single Womanizer.

And sources tell the New York Daily News she is looking for the right part to make her stage debut.

Spears has previously acted in movie Crossroads, and several episodes of sitcom How I Met Your Mother.

Helen Mirren Feels Sorry For Britney

The BAFTA-award winning actress Helen Mirren says she feels sorry for Britney Spears.

Mirren, who plans to write a novel in the future, told GMTV that she hoped that young celebs like Britney were able to focus on what matters in life, reports mirror.co.uk.

'I think that's very difficult and I think people who become very wealthy and very famous before they're 20 and with that kind of scrutiny, of course it drives you crazy,' she said.

Mirren added: 'Hopefully, as you get older you get over it. I think if you're young and you're not seasoned in life, you don't realise that it will pass and you don't realise that it's not that important.'

She's driving! OK technically it's a go-kart, but baby steps. Check out Britney racing go-karts at Dromo 1 in Orange, CA (near Disneyland) this afternoon. Britney's adventure was caught on film by her videographer (the new one) - which will rumoredly be featured on her upcoming DVD released in December. She's so random and awesome - I'm diggin this. Hope she had fun!

Britney Spears, Madonna 'Fall Out Over Kabbalah'

MADONNA'S friendship with Britney Spears is reportedly on the rocks after the Toxic singer ditched Kabbalah.

Spears, 26, had been following the mystical Jewish faith as part of her ongoing attempts to straighten out her public image.

But, according to Britain's News of The World newspaper, Spears no longer wants to be involved with the celeb religion -- and subsequently had her forthcoming live spot on Madonna's Sticky & Sweet tour dumped.

A source says, "Madonna is dismayed that Britney has just dropped Kabbalah.

"She's always believed it is a way of life, not just something to pick up and get rid of on a whim.
"Madonna doesn't feel she can work with Britney any more because they're just not aligned on a spiritual level."

Britney -- who releases her sixth studio album, Circus, in December -- was due to appear on stage with the Queen of Pop for a live duet as part of the US leg of her tour. But the stunt has now been axed.

An insider who has worked with Britney on past beauty product-related ventures revealed that the perfume will smell of cherry and vanilla aromas.

“The bottle of Hidden Fantasy is the same as the previous two Fantasy perfumes - the only difference is the color is red on it,” the source added.
