Britney Will Sing "Twinkle, Twinkle" to the Kids

The following italicized article is from www.tmz.com:

TMZ has more details on what Britney Spears got in court today.

As we first reported, Brit will get three days of supervised visitation per week. Sources tell us within a month she will also have overnight visitation with her kids.

We're told Commish Scott Gordon was extremely impressed with Brit's progress today. It was a different story a few months back when she completely pissed him off. The Commish was somewhat blown away by her progress.

The goal, we're told, is to ramp it up over the next few months so that Brit gets 50/50 custody, right back where she started from.

Stay tuned.

Sonny Days Ahead for Britney

The following italicized article is from www.eonline.com:

Time is on Britney Spears' side. More specifically, time for visitation.

Following a morning court session attended by both Spears and ex-husband Kevin Federline, the couple came to a decision to modfiy the terms of their custody agreement for sons Sean Preston and Jayden James

Federline attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan announced that Spears will be allowed to spend more times with the boys during her visits. However, Federline retains primary physical custody and no sleepovers will be allowed.

"We are so pleased with Britney's progress and we are very appreciative of the court's recognition of this progress," parents Jamie and Lynne Spears, both of whom were in court supporting their daugther, said in a statement read by court spokesman Allan Parachini.

Speaking for Federline, publicist Elliot Mintz told E! News the would-be rapper was "extremely pleased with how things went today."

Kaplan concurred, calling the modified order a "cautious step going forward...a step in the right direction."

"We are pleased with the progress that seems to be occurring," he said, "and cautiously are going down that track."

Britney's Visitation "Expanded"

The following italicized article is from www.ok-magazine.com:

For the first time in months, sparring exes Britney Spears and Kevin Federline were both in a California courtroom to discuss matters in their ongoing custody battle. And at the end of the day, her efforts were worth it, as lawyers confirm that her current agreement with K-Fed has been expanded.

"Kevin's goal has always been for two parents to participate actively in their lives,"his lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan said after the hearings adjourned this afternoon. "But when that will occur, I can't tell you that."

According to Kaplan, there has been no change in the custodial orders, but after hours of closed-door chats, there has been "an expansion, which is a function of recognition of progress made."

While no more specifics were given about what exactly has been expanded, insiders are saying it definitely means that Britney will be spending more time with her two sons than her current two to three brief visits during the week. And perhaps, suggest the insiders, Brit might be given a chance to have an occasional monitored, overnight visit from her sons.

"This represents a step going forward," added Kaplan, "A cautious step, but a step nonetheless."

In a joint statement to the press, Britney's parents echoed this sentiment: "We are so pleased with britney's progress," said Jamie and Lynne Spears. "And we very much appreciate the court's recogntition of her progress."

Early this morning, Britney, looking her best in a brown and white polka-dot dress and straightened blonde locks, waited patiently in a holding area until around 9:37 am PT while Commissioner Scott Gordon dealt with matters in other cases.

When their case was finally called, the superstar entered the courtroom with her mom, Lynne and father Jamie, who sat in the back row. They were joined by Blair Berk, the lawyer who represents Britney's father. Both Brit and Kevin, decked out in a beige suit, gold earrings and pinky ring, were sworn in by Gordon.

According to a witness in the courtroom, when Brit-Brit was asked to state her name for the record, she whispered, almost inaudibly, "Britney." Gordon had to instruct her further to give her full name.

Almost immediately after being sworn in, Britney's lawyer asked that the court be closed to the public and the request was granted by Jordan.

Around 10:25 am PT, there was a break in the action and Brit — guarded by a group of six imposing men — headed to the ladies room.

Not much later, a rep for the court announced that both parties had entered into a private discussion outside of the courtroom, and that a "compromise" was being hammered out. Presumably, today's "expansion" is a result of these discussions.

Meanwhile, in a strange only-in-Hollywood twist, Elliott Mintz, better known as the publicist for celebutante extraordinaire Paris Hilton, has introduced himself as the new PR mouthpiece for K-Fed.

Britney Spears Gets More Time With Children

The following italicized article is from www.people.com:

Britney Spears will get more time with her sons during visitation, a court ruled Tuesday.

"We are so pleased with Britney's progress, and we are appreciative of the court's recognition of this progress," Spears's parents, Jamie and Lynne Spears, said in statement after a hearing attended by the pop star and her ex-husband Kevin Federline.

It was not clear how much more time Spears was granted. Federline's attorney characterized the court order as "an expansion of time."

"It is a cautious step, but a step forward nonetheless," said lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan. "We are seeing signs of (Britney's) progress, and consistency over time is something welcome by Kevin. ... The children are doing great."

Spears, with lawyer Blair Berk and both of her parents, smiled as she left the courtroom and headed for her SUV, but did not talk to the press. Earlier, during a break in the hearing, the singer was seen looking distraught. However, later she smiled and held her mother's hand as she went back into the courtroom.

During the break, Spears and her lawyers, as well as Federline and his attorney, convened to adjacent rooms outside of the courtroom.

The hearing began around 9:40 a.m. on Tuesday. Spears, wearing a knee-length brown and white dress, was accompanied by her lawyer and both of her parents. Federline, wearing a tan pinstriped suit, was with Kaplan.

Gimme More ... Time With My Babies!

Hurray!!! Britney Spears has successfully won back more court-sanctioned alone-time with her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James. Altho Kevin Federline's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, wouldn't give any of the deets to TMZ (K-Fed's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, said after the court hearing today that he wouldn't talk about the custodial timeshare between Brit and K-Fed -- except to say that it is "more than it has been."), he was happy to provide the news to US Weekly after today's child custody hearing in LA:

Britney Spears' visitation rights to sons Sean Preston and Jayden James were expanded Tuesday following a custody hearing with ex-husband Kevin Federline. There was no change in custody, Federline's attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan said at a press conference, but overnight visits "will be phased in in the near future. "The court made orders today, they were orders that the parties were able to mostly agree to," Kaplan said. "It represents a cautious step moving forward." Kaplan said the court was "pleased with the progress that seems to be occurring" with Spears daily. He called the court's ruling "a step in the right direction. "The children are doing great — that's the key," Kaplan said. "That's what all of this is about." Court spokesman Allan Parachini also read a statement from Britney's parents, Jamie and Lynne. "We are so pleased with Britney's progress, and we are very appreciative of the court's recognition of this progress," they said in their statement. The next progress hearing is set for July 15. After the hearing, Britney was spotted smiling and leaving with her parents, Jamie and Lynne. When asked if she were happy, her attorney Stacy Philips gave a smile and a thumbs up sign. Lynne and Jamie were smiling and talking to each other As Federline left the courtroom, he smiled but did not say anything.

What a great day for the Spears family. I am ABSOLUTLY LOVING all of the positive news in Britney's life these past few months ... it's a far cry from the tumultuous year she had last year. I fully expect that Britney will continue to prove to the court that she is working very hard to regain custody of her children. This is just amazing news!! I am so happy :)

Bad Girl Gone Good

Britney Spears arrived at the LA county courthouse at just after 8AM this morning to make an appearance before the bench in order to fight for custody of her children Sean Preston and Jayden James. You might recall that Brit Brit's track record at impressing the court in previous custody hearings wasn't all that great (to be more accurate, she was a horrible mess -- that is, when she bothered to show up at all) but that was then ... this is now

Britney Spears showed up at the county courthouse for a custody hearing Tuesday without the usual screaming fans, signs and banners or frenzied paparazzi chase to the parking garage. Dozens of photographers, reporters, sheriff's deputies and prospective jurors recorded her arrival as a front-seat passenger in a white Land Rover. Then she disappeared into the garage. It's been three months since Spears slipped away from a psychiatric ward and stirred up a paparazzi car chase, a scene that looked like the beginning of even more erratic behavior for the troubled pop star. In the weeks that followed, she acted out of character, all right — she lay low and avoided the cameras. She spent time with family members. She found work, and succeeded at it. With that stability and momentum to build on, it appeared Spears' child-custody hearing had the potential for a positive outcome. Showing up was the first step. Spears' ex-husband, Kevin Federline, arrived at the courthouse about 15 minutes after the troubled 26-year-old pop star, who has been under the conservatorship of her father since her one-week-early release from UCLA Medical Center. Federline, in the back seat of a black Range Rover, entered the courthouse in the same driveway used by Spears. By the time Federline showed up, there were a few dozen camera-toting fans gathered on the steps of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion across the street from the courthouse. Federline has had full custody of his two sons by Spears, 2-year-old Sean Preston and 1-year-old Jayden James, since January, when police were called to Spears' home after she refused to relinquish one of the boys to a Federline bodyguard. Spears was taken by ambulance to a hospital after the incident. Her visitation rights were suspended at the time, but have been gradually restored in recent months. Tuesday's hearing was to include discussion of a psychiatrist's evaluation of Spears, a person close to the case told The Associated Press. The person was not authorized to speak publicly about the case and requested anonymity. Commissioner Scott Gordon, who was to preside over the hearing, could modify the couple's visitation agreement Tuesday based on Spears' recent conduct, the person said ... Spears has been elusive at recent court hearings, her every anticipated appearance drawing a circus of media and paparazzi. In January, she arrived at the courthouse wearing cocktail-party attire — a black minidress and gold platform shoes — and left before the custody hearing began. A lawyer for Federline said that behavior may have played a role in the commissioner's decision that she remain barred from seeing her sons. Federline has allowed Spears limited visitation rights since Feb. 22.

Even tho she may not gain any sort of physical custody of her children today (she is, after all, still under the conservatorship of her father Jamie Spears) I'm sure her timely appearance in court today coupled with all the positive progress in her life over the past few months will go a long way to remedy the judge's impression of her -- she may even walk away from today's hearing with more allowance time with her sons. The reinvention of Britney Spears is fully underway now, you'll see ... she'll be back in pique condition. Trust me.

Britney, K-Fed In Da (Court)House

The following italicized article is from www.eonline.com:

The Los Angeles Superior Court's months-long Britney Spears dry spell has come to a close.

Spears, Kevin Federline and their respective pricey legal teams are all present and accounted for inside the courtroom, where proceedings have begun on a progress hearing in the ex-Chaotic couple's ongoing custody case.

The How I Met Your Mother guest star extraordinaire is expected to ask for modified visitation rights for sons Sean Preston and Jayden James during the hearing.

Breaking from tardy tradition, she arrived nearly a half hour early to the courthouse, decked out in her Tuesday best, wearing a brown polka dot dress and accompanied by her mother, Lynn, her father, Jamie and her attorney, Blair Berk.

Federline, for his part, also took precautions not to be shown up by a punctual Spears, with E! News learning he crashed at the downtown Standard Hotel last night so as to be within closer proximity of the courthouse.

"He didn't want to get stuck in traffic on the 101," a source said of the Tarzana resident. "He wanted to make sure he was on time."

Spears, meanwhile, is no doubt energized for this morning's potentially lengthy hearing, having spent the weekend in Kentwood, Louisiana, where she was a guest at sister Jamie Lynn's baby shower. On Monday, she visited with her sons for three hours at her Beverly Hills home.

Britney Spears On-Time For Court Hearing

The following italicized article is from www.hollyscoop.com:

It’s Britney Spears’ big day in court today. It’s so big that she’s already there! Britney arrived to court with her mom, dad and super lawyer Blair Berk. For a change, she actually arrived dressed decently and even before Kevin Federline. The driver took her to an underground parking lot so no one takes pictures of her. What a change a few months can do!

Britney is in court for a “progress review” today but its unlikely things will change in her custody battle with Kevin. Even though she’s spent that last few months acting like a normal person chances are that the arrangement will not change because she’s still under a conservatorship.

"As long as Britney remains under a conservatorship, she has a long way to go before the court views her as a capable mother," some L.A. attorney that’s not involved in the case told People Magazine.

But this custody case has been anything but ordinary so we’ll see how it turns out. Britney seems to have a great support system so hopefully she’ll be able to see her kids more than the current situation. She is their mother after all!

Britney Spears Expected In LA Court

The following italicized article is from www.accesshollywood.com:

Exactly three months have passed since Britney Spears left a psychiatric ward and promptly stirred up a paparazzi car chase, a scene that looked like the beginning of even more erratic behavior for the troubled pop star.

In the weeks that followed, Spears started acting out of character, all right: She laid low and avoided the cameras. She spent time with family members. She found work, and succeeded at it.

With that stability and momentum to build on, it would appear Spears’ child-custody hearing Tuesday had the potential for a positive outcome — as long as she gets it together to show up this time. All indications are that she will.

The troubled 26-year-old pop star, who has been under the conservatorship of her father since her one-week-early release from UCLA Medical Center, is expected to attend the custody status hearing in a downtown courthouse with her parents. Her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, will also attend, said his spokesman, Elliot Mintz.

Federline has had full custody of his two sons by Spears, 2-year-old Sean Preston and 1-year-old Jayden James, since January, when police were called to Spears’ home after she refused to relinquish one of the boys to a Federline bodyguard. Spears was taken by ambulance to a hospital after the incident. Her visitation rights were suspended at the time, but have been gradually restored in recent months.

Tuesday’s hearing will include discussion of a psychiatrist’s evaluation of Spears, a person close to the case told The Associated Press. The person was not authorized to speak publicly about the case and requested anonymity.

Commissioner Scott Gordon, who will preside over the hearing, could modify the couple’s visitation agreement Tuesday based on Spears’ recent conduct, the person said.

Spears was a constant media presence before the conservatorship took effect. Photographers captured her every visit to Starbucks and gas stations around Los Angeles, and documented a bout of bizarre behavior that included appearing in public without underwear, shaving her own head and beating a car with an umbrella.

Since Spears’ father, James, took over her affairs, the pop star has been relatively invisible to photographers, only occasionally snapped shopping or having dinner with her mother, Lynne. A traffic accident last month turned out to be a minor bumper-to-bumper incident in which no one was injured, and for which no one was cited.

Spears’ public appearances have been limited to a well-received cameo on CBS’ “How I Met Your Mother,” a role she reprised during a taping last week, a CBS spokeswoman said. The episode is set to air May 12.

“We’re thrilled to have Britney joining us once again,” series executive producer and co-creator Craig Thomas said in a statement last month. The show’s audience increased by a million viewers the week Spears appeared.

The pop star also made news last month when she took on full-time exercise and nutrition coaches from Bally Total Fitness.

Once known for her flawless figure, Spears was widely ridiculed for her flabby form in September during a universally panned performance on the MTV Video Music Awards that was meant to herald her comeback.

Spears has been elusive at recent court hearings, her every anticipated appearance drawing a circus of media and paparazzi. In January, she arrived at the courthouse wearing cocktail-party attire — a black minidress and gold platform shoes — and left before the custody hearing began. A lawyer for Federline said that behavior may have played a role in the commissioner’s decision that she remain barred from seeing her sons. Federline has allowed Spears limited visitation rights since Feb. 22.

Britney & Kevin to Meet in Court

The following italicized article is from www.people.com:

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline are both expected to attend a hearing in Los Angeles family court Tuesday for a progress review, sources confirm.

Though Spears has spent the last several months keeping a relatively low profile – and staying out of trouble – experts say it's unlikely the pair's current custody arrangement will change.

"As long as Britney remains under a conservatorship, she has a long way to go before the court views her as a capable mother," says L.A. family lawyer Scott Weston, who is not involved in the case.

Spears, who was hospitalized at UCLA Medical Center's psych ward in January, currently has monitored visitation rights with her sons, Preston, 2, and Jayden, 1, several times a week – but no overnight privileges. Her father, Jamie, and a lawyer maintain legal control of her affairs until a July 31 hearing.

Spears has a spotty record of attending previous court hearings: On at least two occasions, the singer briefly appeared then abruptly left – in part due to the media frenzy.

Since her father took control of Spears's life, the singer has been spending more time with her family – including her previously estranged mom. (She recently attended a baby shower for her sister, Jamie Lynn, in Kentwood, La.)

Spears has also been hard at work filming her second appearance on How I Met Your Mother, which will air May 12.

Britney could be allowed to see her kids TODAY

The following italicized article is from www.heatworld.com:

It’s been so quiet on Planet Britney lately that we’d almost forgotten the troubled star was still fighting a custody battle with Kevin Federline.

Later today, the star will go to court in Los Angeles to ask if she can again have shared custody of her two sons Sean Preston and Jayden James. Britney’s ex husband K-Fed was given sole custody of the children back in January following an incident when the star refused to hand over the couple’s son’s to Kevin’s bodyguard – leading to the infamous stand-off with the police at her home.

Britney has since spent time in hospital and is slowly, but surely, taking steps to get her life back on track. She is hoping that her more stable behaviour of late will put her in favour of the judge, who will have to decide whether or not Brit is capable of taking care of the boys.

The hearing is also expected to include a discussion of a psychiatrist’s evaluation. K-Fed, who has always maintained that he wants Britney to spend time with Sean Preston and Jayden James, is also expected to be in court. We’ll bring you the results as soon as we have them.

Word on the street is that Britney will appear in court tomorrow to ask the judge for more time with her kids. She and her lawyer are hoping her recent normal behavior will sway the judge's decision to grant her more QT with her boys.

Britney really has been making progress lately. Maybe she's feeding off of seeing her little sis Jamie Lynn who's about to be a mom too, and Brit wants her life to be back to normal. Stay tuned for the media circus that should come from court today.
