Sam Lutfi Won't Go Down Without a Fight

The following italicized article is from www.tmz.com:

We've just learned Sam Lutfi has officially filed an appeal against the permanent restraining order that was just granted ordering him to stay clear of Britney Spears.

Lutfi lawyer, Bryan Freedman, told us "Never before in the history of the world has a restraining order been granted as a result of someone answering someone else's cries for help."

Freedman added, "The evidence showed it was Britney Spears reaching out to Mr. Lutfi and all he did was help her get a lawyer."

Britney Requests A Strippers' Pole For Her London Hotel Room During Upcoming Tour

The following italicized article is from www.dailymail.co.uk:

The Britney Spears circus is well and truly underway in London. The Dorchester is already making plans for her arrival at the start of June.

The singer has asked for a stripper’s pole to be installed in her favourite suite in the top hotel so she can work out between shows during the appropriately named Circus tour.

Hardly the most orthodox request they’re likely to have received at the five-star hotel.
A source said: 'Britney loves pole dancing, it is her new favourite work out.

She gets the toning that she needs without having to hit the gym, and she wants to be able to do it in the privacy of her own hotel room.

'Keeping fit on the tour is very important as her show is full of rigorous dance routines, so Britney likes to do her pole dancing work out every morning when she gets up.'

The 27-year-old star, who is known for her love of 'good old-fashioned cuisine' (or junk food), has also asked for a cook from the Nando’s restaurant chain to be on hand for the duration of her visit to whip her up some spicy chicken when she feels like it.

The last time Britney was in town she gorged on Domino’s pizza instead of eating in any of London’s fancy restaurants.

And finally, Britney is planning a huge private shopping spree in Topshop while she is in town.
She is making arrangements for Sir Philip Green to open the store especially for her and her dancers so they can stock up on a new wardrobe with no other customer vying for the bargains.

Britney's New Message

Sam Lutfi Ordered to Stay Away from Britney for Three Years

The following italicized article is from www.people.com:

It's official: Sam Lutfi is a threat to Britney Spears.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Aviva Bobb issued a three-year restraining order against the singer's former manager on Tuesday.

Jon Eardley, a lawyer who has repeatedly challenged the validity of Jamie Spears's legal control over his daughter, was also slapped with a restraining order for three years.

Both men must stay at least 100 yards away from Britney, her two sons, and her family members' homes, and must not harass Britney and her children, or contact them through phone, mail and email. It also prohibits them from "acting on Ms. Spears's behalf or purporting to act on her behalf." The orders, however, do not specifically protect Jamie and Britney's mother Lynne Spears, which Jamie had sought.

The singer's father, who initially filed the request on Jan. 30, alleged that both men have harassed his daughter, adding Lutfi arranged the smuggling of a cell phone to the pop star at a hotel.

Lutfi Will Appeal

Bryan Freedman, Lutfi's attorney tells PEOPLE: "We absolutely will appeal this ruling. Never before in history has a restraining order been issued against someone who answered another person's cries for help."

The order followed several hearings in which Spears's father, her hairstylist, bodyguard, among others, testified that the singer was in fear of Lutfi. In his defense, Lutfi's younger sister Christina testified that it was Britney who hatched the cell phone scheme because she allegedly wanted Lutfi's help to end her father's control.

Last week, Samuel Ingham, a court-appointed lawyer for the pop star, told the judge that "my client's situation has improved dramatically over the last fourteen months. [The orders against Lutfi] is in my client's best interest ... she has suffered emotional distress."

Meanwhile, Lutfi's lawsuit against the Spears family for defamation and battery is still pending.

Britney to Sam Lutfi: It Was Nice Knowing You...

The following italicized article is from www.tmz.com:

Britney Spears' conservatorship was just granted a permanent restraining order on Brit's behalf against Sam Lutfi and a guy who once claimed to be Britney's attorney.

The restraining order lasts until April 28, 2012.

Britney and both her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, are protected under the order. Lutfi and Jon Eardley are not allowed to go within 100 yards of Brit's home, job or workplace.

Sam and Jon also have to stay away from K-Fed's place and any of Britney's family members' homes.

The conservators filed for the restraining order because they said Lutfi and Jon were trying to torpedo the conservatorship by contacting Britney behind their backs.

Sam Lutfi Is Screwed In 3..2..

The following italicized article is from www.ok-magazine.com:

Judge Aviva Bobb heard closing arguments to decide if the temporary restraining order against Britney Spear's former BFF/svengali Sam Lutfi and her wannabe lawyer Jon Eardley should be made permanent.

Bobb told the open court that she will render her verdict by the end of the day. The bottom line argument, according to Lutfi's lawyer Bryan Freedman is that Britney, herself "did not suffer substantial emotional damage" as a result of Lutfi's phone attempts to contact her.

Freedman told OK! exclusively: "I will most definitely appeal any permanent order. Britney did not testify. No doctor or medical professional testified that she suffered enough to warrant a restraining order"

Britney's lawyer Joel Boxer countered: "There's much truth to the old adage that silence speaks volumes," meaning that neither Lutfi nor Eardley bothered to show up in court to testify in their defense.

Last week in court Boxer tried to cement the idea that Lutfi and Eardley are "predators who patently threatened and extorted her through emails."

Despite signing an agreement last July to stay away from the Britster, Lutfi testified that he slipped her a cell phone via his sister, and that she then texted Britney 45 times.

Another court date in May is scheduled to decide who should pay whose lawyer fees for this whole thing.

Stay tuned for judge Bobb's final decision.

Britney's Party in Vegas

After her show on Saturday night in Las Vegas, Britney had a party with the Pussycat Dolls as well as her dancers, aerialists, circus performers and other tour friends. The party took place at a family friend's condo at the Palms Hotel. Brett, Britney's assistant, said the DJ was fantastic, and superstar DJ Paul Oakenfold stopped by to visit. There was cotton candy everywhere, as well as lots of miniature snacks and desserts. The condo had an amazing view of Las Vegas - party goers could see the entire city!

Britney Brings the Party to Vegas

The following italicized article is from www.eonline.com:

After Britney Spears wrapped up her Sin City show Saturday night, it was time for the pop princess to party and let her hair down.

Brit threw an exclusive bash in Phil Maloof's 15,000 square foot Sky Villa at the Palms Place Hotel & Spa for 50 people. Besides her backup dancers, the Pussycat Dolls (who open for Brit) came to party, minus Nicole Scherzinger.

"Everyone kept asking 'Where's Nicole?' And the answer was that she hardly ever hangs out with the group any more," says a source at the soiree.

While Paul Oakenfeld deejayed, guests got to watch a juggling act and contortionist performances. On the menu for late-night revelers, who hung until 3 a.m.? Sliders, peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches, brownies, cotton candy and caramel popcorn.

Brit wasn't the only celeb spotted in Sin City this weekend...

Paris and Doug Reinhardt were sitting right by the stage watching Brit's show early Saturday. Later they joined Nicky Hilton to hit up Tao, where Jamie King was celebrating her 30th birthday.

Their group later headed to XS at Encore around 3 a.m., where Ryan Seacrest, Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson were also hanging out. Wonder how that panel would rate Brit's Circus?

Britney Plays Peacemaker

The following italicized article is from www.suntimes.com:

After a bit of a onstage dustup during the Pussycat Dolls' Friday night gig in Phoenix, no less than Britney Spears herself -- for whom the Dolls are opening on the current tour -- acted as a mediator.

''Remember, business comes first. ... You can hate each other off-stage, but make it work on stage,'' a very reliable Spears source quoted Britney as saying.

Things are increasingly tense between the Dolls. Lead singer Nicole Scherzinger has been looking like she's poised to go solo, and other members of the group are unhappy about recent singles released as ''The Pussycat Dolls featuring Nicole Scherzinger.''

''It's like a modern version of the old Diana Ross and the Supremes thing,'' said a music industry insider Sunday.

At Friday's concert, things got testy when the Dolls' Melody Thornton thanked the crowd in her Phoenix hometown for supporting her, ''even though I'm not featured!'' Spears thought that led to a ''downer effect'' on the rest of the Dolls set, and a negative lead-in to her own set, the Britney buddy said.

We'll get a chance on Tuesday to see this up close -- and whether Spears' lecture had any effect -- when the tour arrives for two gigs at the Allstate Arena.

Britney The Gardener

The following italicized article is from www.thesun.co.uk:

BRITNEY SPEARS has turned to gardening to keep herself on the straight and marrow.

The songbird, who has a history of mental health problems, has become devoted to a self-help programme called flower therapy — based on horticulture.

She has also been closely studying books about the spiritual aspects of gardening while on tour in the United States.

A source said: “Britney has tried every kind of therapy going. She’s studied yoga, seen numerous counsellors and even experimented with mysticism, but they’ve never been more than passing fads.

“This time seems different though. She’s committed to learning as much as she can about horticulture and how it impacts your well-being.

“Whenever she returns to her California home she’s straight out in the garden working. She’s very proud and knowledgeable about what she’s planted and what is growing around her house.”

Flower therapy uses flower essences to “balance physical and emotional disturbances”.

Toxic singer Britney, 27, had a series of breakdowns in 2007 and was twice sectioned the following year.

She now has random drug and alcohol tests under the terms of her custody deal to keep sons Sean Preston, three, and Jayden James, two.

And she’s so determined to stay on the road to recovery that she has become a devotee of the self-help manual Chicken Soup For The Gardener’s Soul — by American lifestyle guru Jack Canfield.

The source said: “That has given her a lot of solace.”

Britney To Extend Her Tour?

The following italicized article is from www.lasvegassun.com:

MGM officials have told me there are no official plans for any nightclub celebrations there after her show. Britney’s tour is produced by AEG Live/Concerts West, the entertainment conglomerate responsible for Cher and Bette Midler at Caesars Palace and Carlos Santana’s new residency at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel.

Its president, John Meglen, told me: “It is one of the biggest and best-selling tours of the decade. Response and reaction has been phenomenal worldwide, and this weekend date at MGM is the highest ticket-selling gross so far. European fans cannot wait for her to get there, and in many, many venues, the tickets have been sold out instantly, and we’ve had to juggle dates to add more shows to meet the demand.”

Casey Aldridge Charged in Single Car Crash

The following italicized article is from www.tmz.com:

We've learned Casey Aldridge was charged with careless operation of a motor vehicle (a misdemeanor) after this morning's crash -- and no other car was involved.

Cops tell TMZ Casey was driving on the LA 606, which is in the Tensas Parish in Louisiana, when he lost control of his F-250 at around 1:30 AM. Law enforcement sources say Casey was initially taken to the Riverland Medical Facility in Ferriday, LA -- which is right across the border from Mississippi.

19-year-old Casey is currently at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS.

UPDATE: Cops tell us there were three other passengers in the truck with Casey -- but Casey's injuries were the most serious.

Casey Aldridge -- Okay, But Just by a Hairline

Casey Aldridge could have been screwed, but got real lucky -- he's going to recover from this morning's car accident.

We just spoke with a close family member/Baptist preacher who says Aldridge did not have surgery, but did suffer mild brain trauma.

As we first reported, Casey and 3 other passengers were in a single car accident early this morning in Louisiana.

His F-250 flipped over and Aldridge was airlifted for treatment.

The family member said Aldridge suffered a "skull fracture around his hairline" and will be kept at the University of Mississippi Medical Center for 2-3 days for observation.

Jamie Lynn Spears is at his bedside.

We're also told one passenger suffered a broken collarbone, one is getting X-rays on his hip and the third just suffered some bruising.

Three Ejected from Car in Casey Aldridge Crash

Louisiana State Troopers tell us three of the five people riding in Casey Aldridge's truck (they previously told us only four were in the truck) were ejected during the crash -- and Casey was one of them.

Cops tell us while Casey was heading north on the 606 in Louisiana early this morning, he swerved off the right side of the road and into a ditch, then over-corrected his turn back onto the pavement, causing the car to flip. During the flip, 3 people -- including Casey -- were ejected from the car.

The two others who were ejected refused medical treatment at the scene -- and as we previously reported, Casey was taken to the Riverside Medical Center in Ferriday, La. due to what cops called "moderate injuries."

As for whether alcohol was a factor, cops tell us they didn't speak to Casey for nearly four hours after the crash -- due to his hospitalization -- and when they did, they found no reason to suspect he had been drinking.

Just to put this in perspective, cops told us it's 4x more likely for people to die when they're ejected from a car during a crash -- and all 3 who were ejected survived.

Casey was charged with careless operation of a motor vehicle -- a misdemeanor -- and is currently recovering from his injuries at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Miss.

She's Baaaaaack...

The following italicized article is from www.lvrj.com:

Britney Spears has had a rough road in Vegas, but there are still reasons to love her

Like Pabst and quiche, vomit and velour, Britney Spears and Las Vegas haven't always mixed so well.

To say that Britney has traveled a bumpy road in Sin City is to ignore potholes big enough for wild game to bathe in.

She's passed out in nightclubs, gotten universally skewered for a roly-poly performance at the MTV Video Music Awards at the Palms, seen her posse tussle with the paparazzi and yawned her way through a House of Blues concert where she pretty much used her fans' ticket stubs as toilet paper.

But you know what, Las Vegas?

Britney Spears is still good for you.

And in honor of her stop at the MGM Grand this weekend, we're going to prove it.

Read on, as we count the ways that Britney is continuing to make the world a better place.

She's no Beyonce, but...

What other females on the pop charts have Britney beat? Certainly not the horribly overwrought Christina Aguilera, who has a better voice to be sure, but not a clue how to use it, and so she over-sings everything, shrieking through her tunes like a cat being fed through a paper shredder, until you're digging at your cochleas with a melon baller.

Kelly Clarkson? She's so boring, we nearly fell asleep simply typing her name. Kelli Pickler? We won't poke fun of her for the same reason we stopped shoving old people down flights of stairs recently: Sure it's a blast, but way too easy. Lily Allen? Apples and oranges. You don't judge "Dumb and Dumber" by how it compares to "Crash," even though the former is more successful at being a lowbrow comedy than the latter is at being a serious drama.

Besides, when it comes to Britney, she's been on a roll for years now. Her breathless, beat-heavy "Blackout" was the best mainstream pop record of 2007, her current disc "Circus" is still more dance floor cotton-candy and even her stab at aping "Ray of Light"-era Madonna, 2003's "In The Zone," reaped its share of killer singles. It's not high art, nor is meant to be: Spears catalog is directed at the pelvis, not the cerebellum.

She makes you feel better About yourself

Britney's foibles get so much run for the same reason that reality TV is big: People love watching others makes asses of themselves in a public forum because it makes them feel slightly less guilty for being such losers themselves. So, Britney gets photographed without her panties on, and you, in turn, don't feel quite as bad for being a career Denny's waitress who sweats nicotine and sadness and whose best friend is a sock puppet. Good for you. Now where are those cheese fries, already?

She's a role model for THE YOUNG PEOPLE

So, she drank and smoked while pregnant, drives around with her kid in her lap like it was a Slurpee with hair and has been known to betroth single-celled organisms upon occasion. Big deal. Does this mean she can't be a surrogate parent to your children, a guiding light in hot pants? Answer: no. To wit, for her first movie appearance in coming-of-age classic "Crossroads" -- think "The Graduate," but with plastic boobs -- Spears refused to utter a particular line of dialogue because it had a swear word in it, and she didn't want to set a bad example for the youths of today. How's that for attempting to better one's fellow man? Scoreboard: Britney 1, Gandi 0.

She's given us her soul!

You are a nothing, a nobody, an empty sack of flesh and castrated dreams, until, of course, you get your own fragrance. Then you enter the realm of people who matter, such as Debbie Gibson, David Hasselhoff and Dora the Explorer. Britney first joined such hallowed company when she blessed us with her "Believe" perfume. The fragrance was pitched as a "confident expression of optimism and individuality" and as a "reflection of her soul." So what if it bore the delicate aroma of a yeti on fire, trapped in an Ozzfest port-a-john? What does your soul smell like, my man? Gym socks and air bagels? Relax, buddy, it was a trick question. If you're not down with Brit-Brit, you don't have a soul to being with.

She makes fun of herself better than anyone else does

Ever caught Britney Spears on "Saturday Night Live"? It's like finding a Heineken buried in a bucket of dead puppies. For about a decade now, that show has been a safe haven for anyone allergic to funny, but Spears has been among the rare highlights in recent years, at her best when lampooning her fake breasts, her penchant for lip syncing in concert and everything else people goof on her for.

Basically, Spears has earned the last laugh.

Even if it is on us.

Music Takes Backseat To Image At Britney Show

The following italicized article is from www.azcentral.com:

In her latest incarnation as pop comeback queen, Britney Spears isn’t performing concerts so much as she is staging a show that is a cross between Cirque du Soleil and burlesque.

The music that played Friday night as Spears strutted around three circular stages at a packed Jobing.com Arena in Glendale was almost an afterthought, a pulsating soundtrack accompanying the visual spectacle that this 27-year-old mother of two still generates.

More than any other tour by Spears, this one, named after the singer’s new “Circus” album, is all about image.

The barrage of camera flashes that was nearly non-stop throughout the singer’s 90-minute set as she emerged in one costume after another and made her way to various contraptions designed to show her off to all corners of the arena bore out the fact that the eye was the key to this show.

Speaking of all corners, it’s hard to imagine how the show must have looked to those sitting near the rafters of the cavernous hockey arena, because Spears had none of the video screens that most big acts use to help those in those seats see the onstage action.

Each song brought another gimmick to put Spears, who looks like she hit the gym hard before this tour, on display.

The star ended up in a wheeled lion’s cage early on after she had peeled off a ringmaster’s getup to reveal a sexy corset-themed outfit as she performed the new CD’s title track and her in-your-face 2007 hit “Piece of Me.”

She jumped up to grab a gold stripper pole that was wheeled around during “Radar,” she sat on the curved handle of a giant umbrella that lifted her above the stage for the mellow ballad “Everytime” and she stood in huge, empty picture frames during “Freakshow.”

Despite lots of offstage drama involving divorce, child-custody hearings and public breakdowns in recent years, Spears still has the raw magnetism that only a few pop stars possess.

One girl in her late teens screamed “Oh, my god!” as the lights dimmed to start the show and Spears made a dramatic entrance, dangling from the ceiling on a pair of hoops.

The three-ring stage used on this tour is one of the more lavish and impressive in pop this season.

A long curtain often descended to surround the large main stage and became a circular video screen. Trap doors were everywhere, allowing Spears and her crew, which included clowns, magicians, acrobats and dancers, to appear instantly, seemingly out of nowhere.

The sound was overpowering in places, and many of the set’s songs, drawn largely from Spears’ two most recent (and edgy) albums, had undergone remixes.

It appeared that Spears was lip-synching or singing along to taped vocals much of the time, but that no longer seems to bother fans who have heard murmurs about the star using that crutch for years.

A band that was placed in barely-visible spots around the stage may have been playing along to a soundtrack, too.

Once an energetic and inventive dancer, Spears has severely reined in the moves that used to raise eyebrows and thrill fans.

She had flashes of her old, impressive dance moves during such songs as “Boys,” “Get Naked” and one of the few classics she played, 1998’s “Baby One More Time.”

But much of the show featured Spears walking around the stage to throw down basic dance moves, strike poses for fans or grab the next prop.

Her 11 dancers got chances to show off their own moves during frequent breaks when Spears would disappear.

Spears spoke briefly to the audience a few times with stage banter such as, “What’s up, Phoenix? How are you feeling tonight?”

But the crowd, dominated by young women, went crazy throughout the set.

After all, they were seeing Britney Spears in the flesh.

Britney Fans Get Engaged On Stage!

The following italicized article is from www.ok-magazine.com:

Talk about finding a guy who listens: Britney Spears fan Robert knew his girlfriend Zoyla wanted her wedding "to be like a circus with a ringleader, acrobats and magic tricks," so he tells BritneySpears.com he wanted to propose to her during her L.A. show on April 16, and bam! Done.

The Brit fan says he contacted her manager, Adam, who helped him set the whole thing up.

"I sent him a message on Tuesday telling him about my plan," Robert tells her official site. "He replied on Wednesday, but I hadn't read it until Thursday at noon. I replied but didn't think he would get in touch, since it was only 8 hours to the show. I was out with a friend having lunch when at 4:30 p.m. my cell phone rang; it was Adam. He told me he thought it was a great idea and wanted to do it. I had 2 hours to get everything done; ask her parents for permission, get her grandmothers ring, think about what to say and get us to the venue."

Robert told her their tickets had been upgraded to explain why they were in the VIP section.

When the time came, he simply asked Zoyla if she trusted him, and took her up onstage after the Pussycat Dolls performed.

"Once I was up there, I asked everybody to listen up. My first line was interrupted by the crowd's screaming, which was overwhelming and gave me a lot of energy and confidence," he says. "By this time my fiancée was in tears and shaking. I went down on my knee and asked her if she would marry me, she said yes, we kissed and I put on her ring."

Aww!

As for their wedding plans, the couple is definitely sticking to their theme.

"The plan is to save up enough money to have our own little circus for our friends and families just like my fiancée has always wanted it," explains Robert.

Who says chivalry is dead?

#4 Britney Spears

Like a slightly unhinged chameleon, Britney Spears can change her appearance at the drop of a hat. From schoolgirl to diva, through doting mother to... well, yes, there may have been a slight blip when she and K-Fed split, what with the hair shaving, bingeing and showing off the contents of her 'purse' to all and sundry. But Britney's stormed back up the list and - after a rumoured £60,000 makeover - she's looking, if not her best, then a pretty good approximation of what she once was.

Britney Is NOT Pregnant

A rep for Brit Brit tells PerezHilton.com exclusively that Spears is not sperminated.

"She's absolutely not pregnant," one of Spears' managers, Adam Leber, tells us. "I have no idea why Seacrest would say that. We have communication with him and he could have checked this."

Closing Arguments Heard in Britney Restraining Order Case

The following italicized article is from www.people.com:

After three hours of closing arguments Tuesday, no ruling was made on whether to extend a restraining order against Britney Spears's ex-manager Sam Lutfi and attorney Jon Eardley.

The singer's father Jamie, who initially filed the request on Jan. 30, alleges that both men have continuously harassed his daughter, adding that Lutfi smuggled a cell phone to her at a hotel.

Samuel Ingham, a court-appointed lawyer for the pop star, 27, told Judge Aviva Bobb, "My client's situation has improved dramatically over the last 14 months. [A permanent restraining order against them] is in my client's best interest ... She has suffered emotional distress."

Bryan Freedman, a lawyer for Lutfi, 34, has denied his client committed any wrongdoing, saying Lutfi was merely responding to Spears's "cries for help," alleging she was seeking to overturn her father's legal control over her life. "Not one threat or act or violence was directed at Britney Spears," Freedman argued.

An attorney for Eardley, Roger Diamond, continuously questioned the validity of Jamie's conservatorship, and argued that Britney authorized Eardley to represent her, although a court has previously ruled that Spears "lacks the capacity" to hire her own lawyers.

The hearing will continue on April 28.

No Testifying in Britney's Future; Other Side Says She's "Crying Out for Help"

The following italicized article is from www.eonline.com:

Though obviously fit to be the family cash cow, Britney Spears still doesn't have the goods to testify in open court.

The pop star will not be required to take the stand in her conservatorship's ongoing quest to obtain permanent restraining orders against her former manager, Sam Lutfi; attorney Jon Eardley; and her ex-beau, Adnan Ghalib.

"There was a finding of a judge of the Superior Court that she lacks the capacity to testify," Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Akiva Bobb said after hearing closing arguments Tuesday, upholding a 14-month-old ruling that Spears isn't mentally fit to make her own legal decisions.

The temporary restraining orders against all three men were extended until April 28, when the judge will hear rebuttal arguments before making a final decision.

Eardley's attorney, Roger Diamond, filed a motion April 10 to compel Spears to testify before closing arguments were made, but there was no sign of her at the courthouse today.

It's unclear whether the 27-year-old singer, who just played four dates in L.A. and Anaheim, is still in SoCal at the moment. Her Circus tour touches down in Oakland Wednesday night.

In his remarks today, Diamond argued that Spears wanted Eardley—who is said to have collaborated with Lutfi last year to help Spears fight what was then a brand-new conservatorship—to help extricate her from father Jamie's control.

"Britney Spears is crying out for help," Diamond said.

Whatever, the Spears' legal camp said, calling the two men "predators."

Britney 'Not Ready For Relationship'

The following italicized article is from www.digitalspy.com:

Britney Spears is reportedly unable to commit to a relationship because she is still struggling to overcome her failed marriage with Kevin Federline.

The singer, who is currently on her 'Circus' world tour, has allegedly laughed off constant speculation that she is looking for a serious boyfriend.

"[Britney] says it's going to take many, many more years to completely detox from being married to Kevin," a source told Heat.

"She still says being Mrs Federline was the biggest mistake she's ever made."

Speculation that Spears plans on marrying John Sundahl, who she has been linked with in the past, has been labelled "ridiculous".

"Britney doesn't want to do anything until the tour is over," the source added.

"She wants press for her tour and not for an engagment. The idea that she'd actually want to marry someone is ridiculous."

Spears releases her new single 'If U Seek Amy' on May 4.

Britney Is In Control

The following italicized article is from www.ocregister.com:

The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus is coming to Staples Center in July, but Britney Spears beat them to it by bringing her circus/freak show to the same arena Thursday for a two-night stand.

And it was indeed a freak show.

But unlike the freak show that doubles for the pop singer's real life, this one was intentional.

For those wondering if the show that is her life would take the life out of her show, you need not wonder anymore.

Britney's got game.

Although early reviews of this tour were mixed, it looked Thursday night as if Spears got it together for her adopted hometown (she opened the tour in her actual hometown of New Orleans). Perhaps it was her two young sons in attendance that inspired her, but she looked healthy, her dancing was spot-on and her lip-synching was genuine. The 90-minute concert was…well, it was a show.

Created with a circus theme to promote her "Circus" album, the show took place on three connected stages built to resemble a three-ring circus. The singer started the concert in ringmaster garb, complete with lion-tamer's whip, and changed costumes so many times that Cher must have turned over in her walk-in closet.

It was Britney's first arena tour in five years, and the first since her very public meltdown that has seen control of her own life taken out of her hands. But she was clearly in charge at Thursday's show, and one might assume that she intended to make a statement to that effect.

The sold-out arena contained no doubters. They love Britney so much that it hurts.

I swear that the group of young men in front of me forcibly squeezed their heads when Britney came out as if they were trying to keep the gray matter from exploding from their skulls. The young women behind me shrieked so loud, I thought my gray matter was going to explode from my skull.

The audience had a smattering of tweens and very young girls with their parents, but an overwhelming majority were women in their 20s who grew up with the 27-year-old pop star, and young men from the dance club scene. In other words, it was pretty much Madonna's crowd.

And that was no accident. The Madonna influence was obvious, from the sensual dance numbers and leather costumes to the playing of Madonna's "Ray of Light" just before the start. During a video segment, the crowd was treated to a quick cut of the infamous Madonna-Britney kiss on the MTV Video Music Awards.

But the crowd is clearly in Brit Brit's camp now. Whenever a member of the Pussycat Dolls, the opening act, mentioned the words "Britney" or "circus," the crowd went crazy. When fans discovered that Britney's boys were sitting in the sound booth in the loge level, every camera turned in their direction.

And that was a lot of cameras, folks. It seemed as if all 20,000 fans had cameras with them, and those cameras were trained on Spears the entire show.

I should note that by the time the concert took a turn toward darker material and racier themes, the kids had already been taken from the arena.

A half-hour before the concert started, while roadies were setting up the elaborate circus set, the stage was filled with assorted clowns, jugglers, acrobats, unicyclists, strong men, men on stilts, little people in costume, contortionists and magicians.

In other words, it was a typical night at Britney's.

Oops, I did it again.

Once the show began, the crowd leaped up as one, and didn't sit down for the next 35 minutes. It was only when Britney announced a slow number that the crowd sat. But that didn't last long. It was the last slow number we'd hear. Mostly, it was a high-energy dance show, interspersed with pyrotechnics, rising and lowering platforms and music videos.

The inclusion of those videos was interesting because Britney Spears, more than almost any other artist, is a child born and nurtured during the music-video age. At one point, there was a break to give the singer a chance to change and for a new set to be erected. A Britney music video was shown on a overhead screen and, later, the singer's entire professional life was shown in a montage of her music videos. It was like a greatest hits segment, and audience members cheered their favorites.

Taken as a whole, the show really worked. It was well-paced and entertaining, and contained no lulls. I don't know that any pop music show is worth this kind of money (my seat was in the $150 section, and I had a nice view of the $500 seats below), but nobody was complaining. Everyone seemed to feel they got a lot of bang for their bucks, and that says a lot in this economy.

I would imagine that, on some level, there was also a collective sigh of relief. These last few years, with all the drama that surrounded the singer's well-documented divorce, custody battles and court-ordered hospitalizations, have not only been tough on Spears, but on her fans as well.

They came out to support her, and finding her strong and in control was a bonus.

Sam Lutfi Tones Down Attack on Britney Spears

The following italicized article is from www.eonline.com:

Oops…he did it again.

Britney Spears' former manager/sidekick Osama "Sam" Lutfi has filed an amended lawsuit against the pop princess, toning down the rhetoric from his original complaint but still making the same basic accusations: chief among them that mother Lynne Spears slandered him; father Jamie Spears assaulted him; and that the "Toxic" singer still owes him money for services rendered.

Acting on behaf of his daughter's conservatorship, Jamie Spears obtained a temporary restraining order against Lutfi back in January to keep him out of her life.

On Feb. 3, Lutfi fired back with a lawsuit that included salacious allegations about her parents leeching off Britney.

That led to Team Spears to file a petition asking the court to toss out the first seven pages of Lutfi's complaint, claiming the blistering charges were really a "calculated attempt to exploit the court system" to make public assertions that "no factual or legal moorings."

Among the finer details in dispute: "every aspect of [Britney's] life and more importantly, her fortune, has been controlled by her parents" and that the parents were losing control of their daughter, which "posed a serious threat to Jamie and Lynne" and their supposedly lavish lifestyles.

Such language was excised from the updated filing last Thursday, according to Lutfi lawyer Bryan Freedman, to "clarify" his client's accusations against the popster.

"We think the amended complaint sets forth our claim in a more clear fashion," Freedman tells E! News. "There were certain allegations that we wanted to clean up. "We felt [the language] provided some real background but we removed it...as far as the legal claims we're seeking, it was irrelevant."

Jamie Spears' attorney, Joel Boxer, could not be reached for comment.

While all this plays out, a judge could decide as soon as tomorrow to make permanent the restraining order against Lutfi and attorney John Eardley—ruling which Freedman said he will appeal should they come out on the wrong side.

Freedman also expressed a desire to bring Spears in from her Circus tour to explain why, if Lutfi was such a nuisance, she didn't file her own restraining order against Lutfi before her father took control of her affairs.

"I think if she testified we'd at least understand the truth whether she suffered substantial emotinal distress from Sam or whether she was reaching out and Sam helped her," the attorney added.

The Spears estate recently obtained a permanent restraining order against Britney former paparazzo paramour Adnan Ghalib, which will remain in place for three years.

Britney Spears 'Betrayed' By Ex

The following italicized article is from www.chinadaily.com:

Britney Spears feels "betrayed" by Kevin Federline.

The singer is reportedly furious with her ex-husband - with who she has two children, Sean Preston, three, and Jayden James, two - after he proposed to current girlfriend Victoria Prince because she still has feelings for him.

A source close to Britney - who is rumoured to be dating her backing dancer Chase Benz - said:

"Britney's face fell when Kevin told her he had proposed. She's been flirting with her dancers and has a thing going on with Chase but she still loves Kevin and always hoped they'd get back together.

"It wouldn't surprise me if her flirting with other guys was purely to make him jealous."

Britney - who divorced Kevin in 2007 - is said to be particularly concerned with the amount of time Victoria will be spending with her sons.

The source added: "Britney's not keen on Victoria. Victoria gets on really well with Sean and Jayden and sees more of them than Britney because they live with Kevin.

"I don't think Britney saw her as a threat until Kevin proposed but now she will be stepmother to Britney's kids and that doesn't make her happy."

Alleged Britney Stalker Says it Was a Joke

The following italicized article is from www.ok-magazine.com:

File this under "yeah right": The woman arrested by police yesterday outside Britney Spears' home peering into her windows with a video camera, Miranda Tozier-Robbins, says the whole thing was a joke.

“The whole thing — it was all a joke in the beginning, everybody knew about it," Tozier-Robbins, 26 tells Access Hollywood. “It was supposed to be like a ‘Paparazzi 101’ documentary type deal.”

Despite being clothed in a camouflage outfit, she says she decided to trespass on Brit's Calabasas, Calif. property on the spur of the moment.

“What originally was supposed to happen was, I was going to tape whatever I could get. I would be like, far away doing a stakeout,” Tozier-Robbins told host Billy Bush. “It didn’t work out as planned, so when I was already halfway there in the mountains [around Britney’s home], it was already Wednesday night/Thursday morning ... I already knew Britney herself wouldn’t be there, but it’s like, I came that far, I might as well go see the house, at least get the house on tape, because I know people would be interested in seeing stuff like that.”

Oh sure, might as well! “It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity, you understand? She’s coming through on the tour, on the stop, it’s like take your chance. Take the opportunity, do it,” she laughed.

Laughing, that's a good one! We're sure the judge will accept that.

Even if the whole thing was a "joke," Tozier-Robbins is just fine with being called a stalker.

“Yeah, sure. That would be a fair term to use. Tracking, stalking, whatever, for a couple weeks long,” she said. “It wasn’t really stalking her, it was more plotting out how to get to her house.”

And the difference is...?

According to reports, Tozier-Robbins auditioned for American Idol in the past, and one time sang Brit's song "Everytime." Cue the creepy music.

Britney To Play In Ireland?

The following italicized article is from www.independent.ie:

Britney Spears is set to announce two monster Irish summer gigs.

It has been reported that final negotiations are under way to bring her to Dublin this summer for several huge gigs in the RDS.

Her concerts in America have been going down a storm as she performs a string of 49 smash-hit dates as part of her Circus comeback tour.

It is now widely speculated that the pop princess will add Irish tour dates to the end of her British tour, which consists of 8 gigs this June. "It's more a case of when and not if," said an insider. "She'll be playing a load of dates in London's O2 in June so the general belief is that she'll also be adding two Irish performances to her tour.

"Her management team know they'll have no problem selling tickets for her show in Ireland as she's so popular over here, so it's a bit of a no-brainer. She performed at the RDS the last time and she thought it was an amazing venue and suited her kind of show perfectly."

Spears’ lawyers recently discussed the prospect of expanding the performances to include Australia and extra dates in Europe. She is expected to get the go-ahead to play Melbourne and Sydney along with several other locations as she continues to re-ignite her pop career.

Britney has hardly been out of the headlines in the past 3 years. She suffered a complete meltdown which resulted in her being admitted to hospital, and losing custody of her two young boys to her ex-husband Kevin Federline. Although now she is being hailed as making one of the most impressive comebacks ever, with fans giving her standing ovations.

However, if Irish fans are hoping to see her perform in a few months time, they better start saving up their cents now if the English prices are anything to go by.

For tickets at her London gigs prices start at £49 (€55) and go as high as £1,300 for two VIP passes, which get you a backstage tour and ‘ringside seats’.

As well as getting a birds-eye view of Britney's performance, you'll also get VIP parking, finger buffet and drinks and various gifts and goodies.

Britney Chirps Off L.A. Drivers

The following italicized article is from www.tmz.com:

How does Britney Spears get off using motorcycle officers to clear a path on an L.A. freeway during rush hour so she can get to a concert and lip-sync?

Britney foot the bill for a CHP escort yesterday that took her 28 miles, from Calabasas to the Staples Center in Downtown L.A. TMZ's news manager was on the 101 freeway at around 6 PM -- about four miles north of Staples -- when he heard the chirping honk of a motorcycle, directing him to move the hell over so Britney's motorcade could steamroll by.

How can officers use horns and flashing lights to clear a path in a non-emergency? That's what we wanted to know. So we called a CHP official who said the Department provides the same service for the President, Rose Bowl teams, for movie details, etc.

But what about officers chirping off other drivers to clear a path? The official said the officers "can use the tools at their disposal, including lights and sirens, to expedite the flow of traffic and ensure safety."

Back-up Dancer Chase Benz's Mum Livid Over Link-up With Britney

The following italicized article is from www.newkerala.com:

Pop star Britney Spears, who has been in the news for her growing fondness for her back-up dancer Chase Benz, has left the latter's mother fuming.

Chase Benz's mother Diane insists that he is already engaged.

According to reports, Benz girlfriend Tessa Campbell is also infuriated over the alleged linkup between him and Britney.

"Chase has already got a girlfriend. Her name is Tessa Campbell and she is a fantastic girl. Chase comes back to Tennessee whenever he can to see her," the Mirror quoted Diane as saying.

"They've been going out for three years - she's the same age and they are great together. She's so sweet," she added.

Britney, who has a history of dating her back-up dancers, is said to have been dating Benz for three weeks.

"Britney was all over Chase from the word go. He was determined to keep things professional but Britney has been making it difficult by being extremely suggestive. Chase has been dating Tessa, his childhood sweetheart, for over three years and she is livid about the reports... as is Chase's mum. Diane has ordered him to stay away from Britney and made it clear she's not welcome in the family home," a source said.

Britney's former husband and father of her two kids, Kevin Federline, was also once her backup dancer.
