Judge Approves Over $1 Million In Legal Bills, Payments From Britney Spears

The following italicized article is from www.acceshollywood.com:

Britney Spears is back with a hit album and a worldwide 2009 tour, but going from her troubled start at the beginning of 2008 to the top of the charts hasn’t come cheaply.

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge approved over $1.5 million in payouts to those who have assisted the pop singer, who has been under a conservatorship overseen by her father, Jamie Spears and attorney Adam Wallet, since earlier this year.

“My client has made an informed consent to all of these fee amounts,” Britney’s lawyer, Sam Ingham, said in court Monday.

Britney’s father, Jamie, has been receiving $10,000 a month for working as part of the conservatorship to assist his daughter. And on Monday, the judge approved a pay raise for Jamie due to Britney’s hectic schedule, allowing him to now receive $16,125 a month. He was also approved to receive $37,556 from previous business.

The judge also approved $1,200 per month for Jamie to rent an office, where he will be working on the conservatorship.

Britney’s older brother, Bryan Spears, who is a trustee of a trust established in Britney’s name, was also approved for a payment of $200,000 for his services to the “Circus” singer prior to the establishment of the conservatorship.

Sam Ingham, who serves as Britney’s attorney, was approved to receive $143,643, while $81,849 was approved for co-conservator Wallet.

Luce Forward’s law firm, which represents Jamie Spears, was approved for the largest sum of money — $509,080 – for their work.

Michael Flanagan, who was Britney’s lawyer during her driver’s license case earlier this fall, was ordered to be paid $11,811.

A payment of $15,275 was approved for Laura Wasser, the counselor who serves as Britney’s family law attorney.

Additionally, the judge ordered a $1.5 million dollar bond as insurance to protect the conservatorship.

Britney Spears is moving on from longtime choreographers Wade Robson (above) and Andre Fuentes, the duo who successfully launched her comeback with appearances in Europe, Japan and on U.S. TV, Life & Style has learned.

"Wade and Andre were only hired to choreograph the promotional tour for Circus, which ended in Japan last week," an insider tells Life & Style.

Wade directed Brit's dance moves for her first big U.S. tour in 1999, and André has worked with Britney since her 1998 L'Oréal Hair Zone Mall Tour.

There's no word yet who will replace the pair. But we're sure Brit will have somebody on board soon!

You Can Bank on Britney

The following italicized article is from www.tmz.com:

The bank of Britney Spears has just opened its vault -- again.

The judge in the conservatorship case has just ruled Jamie, Brit's dad, can get thousands of extra $$$ for the work he's been doing for his daughter. Jamie was getting $10,000 a month for his fee as the conservator of Brit's estate.

Today the judge adjusted that amount for the entire year to $16,125 a month, to reflect all the additional work Jamie did -- which includes planning her tour for next year.

The judge also gave the green light for Jamie to get office space -- Brit will pay $1,200 a month for that.

And there's more. Brit's bro, Bryan Spears, will receive $200,000 for services he rendered prior to the time the conservatorship was established.

And the lawyers ... the bills for all of them are approaching a cool $1 million.Who says times are tough?

Britney Spears' family New Year

Britney Spears is forfeiting a night out on New Year's Eve to look after her children.

The pop star is set to stay home on December 31 with sons Sean Preston, three, and Jayden James, two, while their father Kevin Federline - who has sole custody of the children - parties with new girlfriend Victoria Prince in Las Vegas.

A source close to Britney and her ex-husband Kevin told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "Kevin has been getting on much better with Britney recently, so he didn't want to risk setting their relationship back by mentioning Victoria.

"And he knows she's desperate to see the boys over Christmas, so he's letting her visit them at his home over the festive period.

"He then added she could have them on New Year's Eve, as if it was a great favour."

It was recently revealed that the 27-year-old singer - who is currently enjoying a successful career comeback following the release of her new album 'Circus' - has asked Kevin to rekindle their relationship and move back in with her.

However, Kevin is apparently not interested in giving their romance a second chance.

He said recently: "There were times when I was up and down about it, but I just figure I've made all the right decisions."
