Dr. Phil: Britney's Hospitalization 'A Good Thing'

The following italicized article is from www.people.com:

Having appeared on both Good Morning America and Today earlier this week to bolster his position after a spokeswoman for the Spears family said he had violated their trust by speaking out about the condition of Britney Spears, TV's Dr. Phil McGraw spoke out once again on the troubled pop star – this time with the women on The View Thursday.

He revealed that his hospital visit with Spears in early January was simply as a possible means to "start a low-key dialogue that might make her open to seeking help," and noted that, according to most recent reports, that is the direction that is being taken.

"If that starts [her] on the road to intervention," he said, "then that is a good thing."

McGraw's View guest appearance in New York coincided with Spears's trip by ambulance to UCLA Medical Center earlier Thursday morning in California for a second round of psychiatric observation. McGraw said he knew nothing more about Spears's condition than what has been reported. He also said that since he and her family have been at odds over his issuing a statement after visiting Britney, he has not been in contact with the Spears family.

He added that as far as his visit with Britney in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is concerned, "I will not disclose what took place."

On Today, McGraw said he wished Spears and her family well at this difficult time.

Dr. Phil Says He's Not Exploiting Brit -- Again!

The following italicized article is taken from www.tmz.com:

Dr. Phil told pretty much anyone who would listen a couple weeks ago that he shouldn't have talked about Britney Spears after his much-blasted visit to her hospital room, and that talking about it wasn't helping.

Well, there was the bald blowhard again this morning, squawking about the whole affair to Matt Lauer and Diane Sawyer, saying -- again -- that he shouldn't have issued the statement, and that he hasn't said "one syllable" about what happened between him and Brit at Cedars. Except all the time he's logged on "Today," and "GMA," and ...

It just happens that his 1000th show is coming up sometime soon.

Britney Spears Feared Lobotomy, Hospital Staffer Says

The following italicized article is from www.thespoof.com:

More details about Britney Spears' breakdown earlier this month have been leaked, this time from an anonymous source inside a hospital that featured in the pop star's dramatic story.

The anonymous source -- Miss Julia Summers of 30177 Oak Lane Rd in Los Angeles -- works in the emergency room of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where Spears was taken the night of her breakdown.

"When it came time to fill out the paperwork Britney got confused," the source said. "The admitting form asked for Britney's name, address, date of birth, and sex. For 'Sex' she was supposed to circle 'M' for male or 'F' for female, but she wrote in 'Twice yesterday' instead."

When asked for a urine and stool sample, the source said that Britney quickly provided the urine sample, but managed to disappear for two hours before returning with a wooden stool from a nightclub she frequently visits.

"Britney was afraid that doctors would perform a lobotomy on her," the source continued. "Hospital staff told her that this was extremely unlikely, as there would not be enough brain material to remove."

The frustrated hospital staff finally tasered the pop star and pumped her full of drugs. It was then that Dr. Phil McGraw arrived on the scene and took charge, the source said, securing both Britney's release from the hospital and his television show's ratings. Dr. Phil believes that Britney suffers from cyclothymia, a chronic mood disorder in which short periods of mild depression are followed by long periods of publicity and notoriety.

They Say I'm Crazy

I really don't care.

Reports are coming in that Dr. Phil is going forward with his "exclusive" show on Britney this Monday, titled "Britney Spears: The Truth & The Rumors."

It's just whispers but I thought I'd let you know. Remember he's cancelled this show before so, take this with a grain of salt.

Backstreet Has Brit's Back

The following italicized article is from www.tmz.com:

While her family organized an ambush with Dr. "I got no license" Phil, A.J. McLean is reaching out to the popwreck through People, saying he is the one who can save her life. The 30-year-old Backstreet Boy wants Brit to know he believes in her "110 percent" and that she should quit playin' games and give him a ring.

A.J. has battled his own addictions in the past and says he is confident Britney can "get her life back in order" and will always keep it real with the troubled star. The boy band singer says he won't miss a note and will ask Britney: "Hey, do you want to die?" and "What the hell is wrong with you?" There's nothing like a little tough love.
