Jamie Lynn is happy to be home. "She sings to her, holds and rocks her and takes at least 100 pictures a day," a family insider tells weekly entertainment magazine Life & Style. "Jamie Lynn is so protective of Maddie," the insider says. "She's taken to being a mother so naturally."

There was so much drama surrounding the birth it is good to hear at least one report that claims that Jamie Lynn is making an effort to keep her child out of the Britney like spotlight. Her sister Britney was at the birth but that was even high drama according to an earlier report from the Enquirer.

The magazine reported at the time that after acting like a spoiled brat when her little sister gave birth, Britney Spears flew back to Los Angeles after only one day, leaving even before her sister got out of the hospital. "Britney seemed very anxious and couldn't sit still. She was moody and complained about everything. Plus, she had to fly commercial, and that really pit her in a foul mood," said an insider.

Britney Spears's Birthday Shopping for Jamie Lynn

With her mother in tow, Britney Spears stopped by the corporate offices of Hollywood clothing store Ed Hardy on Thursday to buy birthday presents for sister Jamie Lynn, who turns 17 on Friday.

The singer was "in good spirits" according to Nicole Irving, a representative for the store. Spears stopped in the afternoon to visit designer Christian Audigier and browse the new spring collection. "

Christian and she were laughing as she tried on Ed Hardy sunglasses and checked out the bathing suits," says the rep.

For her sister (and mom-to-be), Britney, donning a pink Ed Hardy shirt, picked out a large selection of Christian Audigier handbags, scarves, and Crystal Rock T-shirts. She also snagged items for her father and brother.

Earlier Thursday, Spears, 26, spent the morning visiting sons Preston and Jayden at her Studio City house.

Could Britney Spears be suffering from memory loss? This past weekend Spears and her dad Jamie hit up The Social restaurant in Hollywood for some late night grub.

Sources tell Hollyscoop EXCLUSIVELY that Britney seemed a little dazed and confused while at the restaurant. She hardly touched her food and she went to the bathroom "every 15 minutes." She spent most of the night chain-smoking near the bar.

Our spies overheard Spears asking the general manager of the restaurant "how long they had been open" and "what was upstairs." She complimented the manager on the restaurant and told him she thought it was beautiful inside. The manager, who was clearly confused by her comments, politely replied, "Thank You."

The Social is the same place Britney shot her music video "Piece of Me" back in November of '07. Spears was more than 12 hours late to the shoot but was eventually driven there by douchbag Sam Lutfi. She arrived in her pajamas at 8:35PM and stayed until 6:30AM.

Sadly Britney has no recollection of ever being at the venue. She spent more than 9 hours 'upstairs' shooting her music video but doesn't recall ever being there. Obviously all the drugs that Lutfi admitted giving Spears took a toll on her memory. I wonder if she even recalls half the things she's done while under Lutfi's control?
