First Lady Laura Bush On Britney

The following italicized article is from www.accesshollywood.com:

Despite adolescent bumps along the way, the Bush twins have finally grown into responsible young ladies. Jenna and Barbara are just one week older than Britney Spears and this morning, Maria Menounos sat down with the twins’ mom, First Lady Laura Bush. Among the things Maria asked? — How she feels, as a mom, about the Britney situation.

“Britney Spears has had a lot of troubles, you have daughters her age — what advice would you give them at this time where she's in a crisis?” Maria asked.

“That's very very difficult,” Mrs. Bush said. “She's lived a very different life from nearly every other American girl her age.”

The First Lady does have one suggestion that may help Britney through this difficult time.

“What I hope is what I'm sure her own mother hopes, is that people will leave her alone,” she said.

“Do you ever feel like you want to reach out and kind of help them?” Maria asked.

“Sure,” Mrs. Bush said. “And you want to at least ask people to leave them alone.”
