The Toxic singer -- who bagged three MTV Video Music Awards earlier this month -- is planning a show at the Pearl Theater in the Palms Resort And Casino, which will see her perform with a cast of burlesque dancers just before midnight on December 31.
According to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, the Las Vegas show will "kick off a world tour that will be bigger and better than anything she's done before."
A source says, "Britney has been recording her sixth album at Palms and she is good friends with George from way back.
"They are cooking up the idea of making a big bold statement by making her comeback on New Year's Eve. It’s going to be the hottest ticket on the planet."
A rep for Spears was unavailable as Showbiz Spy went to press.
