Although that may prove difficult given Spears' ever-evolving hair styles. "He mentioned how often she changes her mind about it. This week she wants it to her butt, and…two weeks later they'll probably cut it again."

The extensions will hardly be a first for Spears. In July, the singer revealed a botched (or simply half-done) hair extension job.

Brit may have been looking for a getaway in Vegas but a familiar face, ex-boyfriend and photographer Adnan Ghalib, was also spotted at the Mirage.

The paparazzo and Brit did not see each other, but they were reportedly within several yards of each multiple times over the weekend.

Brit rounded out the weekend with a stop by to Siegfried and Roy’s Secret Garden and a performance of Cirque du Soleil’s “Love,” Sunday night before heading back to her private villa.

Britney's Relaxing Vegas Weekend

Staying an hour and a half, Spears texted from her phone and rarely moved from her lounge chair, getting up only to take a quick dip in the pool. Wearing a bikini top and jean shorts, Spears hung out with a group of friends that included her hairstylist Kim Vo.

While Spears basked in the high Vegas heat, a familiar face meandered through the Mirage – her ex boyfriend, photographer Adnan Ghalib. The paparazzo and Spears did not see each other in public though they were within a few yards of each other several times.

After lounging by the pool, Spears made a quick run to Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden and headed to her room for several hours. She later took in Cirque du Soleil's Love show before calling it a night.

The singer, who recently appeared in ads for the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards, is rumored to make an appearance on the Sept. 7 show. Spears is nominated for three Moonmen this year – video of the year, best female video and best pop video for "Piece of Me."

Our Bad, Britney Will Not Perform at the VMAs

Last week, we told you all about a special hairstyle Britney's mane man Kim Vo was preparing for an epic VMA comeback performance. Unfortunately, it turns out he was only speaking theoretically.

Brit's manager Larry Rudolph released this official statement today: "Contrary to media reports, Britney was never slated to perform on this year's VMAs. She's in the middle of recording her next album, which is going amazingly well, and her focus remains on the studio."

Of course, we went back to check with Vo if this was accurate and not some cover for a surprise performance, but he confirmed:

"Any ideas that we have about her hair are always theoretical. And we always have to be prepared. But she is not performing and so we don't have to worry about that."

So, it looks like we'll just have to wait for next year’s VMAs for Britney to redeem herself.

Britney Will Not Perform Nor Appear At VMA Awards

Ryan Seacrest read out an email from Britney's manager Larry Rudolph on his KIIS-FM show Monday morning, August 25, in which Larry termed a recent report on E! that Britney would be performing on MTV VMAs on September 7 as "just wrong."

"Britney Spears will not be performing at the VMAs this year. I am telling you officially and unequivocally that BS will not be there," Rudolph wrote in his email.

Rudolph also added that Britney "was in the middle of recording her next album" which is going amazingly well.

Kim Vo, a renowned colorist for Hollywood A-listers including Britney Spears, who features on E! Entertainment's Daily 10, had told E! News that he could be creating three VMA looks for Britney Spears - for her walk down the red carpet, for the show itself and for her performance!

Woot! It’s really beginning to sound like my suspicions that Britney Spears will, in fact, be performing at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards next month are correct. E! Should the pop-tart nab a nomination, you can bet Kim will be fixing up her follicles for the red carpet.

"I think that’s where she really should shine," he says. "And I think that she should do something that reminiscent of old Britney, but kind of new and chic, maybe I do the same kind of wavy hair but pull it over to a should, low pony tail. Something’s that very different. I think people expect her to look like a caricature of herself. Just chic it up a little bit."

The new season of Shear Genius premieres June 25 at 10 p.m. on Bravo.

As for how Britney, whom Kim calls "truly a sweet soul," he admits that "she's very vulnerable." On the bright side, he also says that she is "calm, serene, peaceful" at home and cooks a great chicken!

"Her first focus is the kids," he adds. "But like any 26-year-old, she's gotta work. You'll go crazy if you stay home all day!"
