The following italicized article is from www.accesshollywood.com:A lawyer for Britney Spears is hoping to get the pop singer out of a trial for a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.Spears’ lawyer in the case, Michael Flanagan, told Access Hollywood he will file a petition on Thursday to ask the Superior Court of Los Angeles to accept their proof the star has a valid license. He wants the case dismissed and for Britney to be able to pay a $10 fee.The case stems from an August 2007 incident in which Spears was videotaped as she bumped another vehicle while parking her Mercedes-Benz. She left — without leaving a note — after looking over the damage to just her car from the fender-bender. The owner of the other vehicle later filed a police report and Spears was charged a month later with misdemeanor hit-and-run and driving without a valid license. The hit-and-run charges were dismissed in October 2007 after Spears paid an undisclosed sum to the owner.Flanagan has said that Spears was driving with a Louisiana license that was valid because she owns homes in that state. The next hearing on the matter will occur this Thursday, September 18.Source: Access Hollywood
Here are a few more pictures from this weekend’s birthday celebration that was thrown for Britney Spears’s sons Sean Preston and Jayden James. On Sunday, we got to see a few pics of the party from a far-off vantage point. Yesterday, we got to see a few close-up pics of Mama Lynne Spears posing with her newest grandbaby Maddie Brianne. Today we get a whole slew of photos of almost the entire Spears clan (only big brother Bryan Spears is missing) happily enjoying quality time with one another … I must admit, these pics damn near bring a tear to my eye:
POP star BRITNEY SPEARS looks to have put her troubles behind her as she relaxes with the whole family at a bash to celebrate her two sons’ birthdays. The Toxic singer’s eldest boy SEAN PRESTON turned three on Sunday, while JAYDEN JAMES celebrated his second birthday two days earlier. Britney, mum LYNNE, dad JAMIE, sister JAMIE LYNN and the teen’s newborn daughter MADDIE watched Sean and his brother driving their presents of electric cars at the star’s Los Angeles home … After reclaiming her gorgeous figure in the gym, she’s now gearing up to release her comeback album Circus in December. The collection, which is issued on her 27th birthday, features songs penned by some of the planet’s mightiest hit-makers. DR. LUKE, DANJA, MAX MARTIN, BLOODSHY & AVANT and GUY SIGSWORTH, who between them have composed chart-toppers for the likes of KATY PERRY, PINK, KYLIE MINOGUE and MADONNA, have all contributed tracks … Looks like it could be a very merry Christmas in the Spears household this year.I know I say this all the time but I’m gonna keep on saying it … I am SO THRILLED at how much healing has taken place in the Spears family. They’ve all struggled thru a long, tough road over the past few years. They weren’t always unified but I have always contended that they have always loved and supported one another.Source: Pink Is The New Blog

The following italicized article is from www.showbizspy.com:Controversial comedian RUSSELL BRAND recently gave sex tips to BRITNEY SPEARS - but was left red-faced when he tried to demonstrate a bedroom technique. The British funnyman met the Toxic hitmaker when he hosted the MTV Video Music Awards earlier this month (Sep08).And the serial womaniser was happy to pass on his experience between the sheets - but the conversation didn't quite go according to plan.He tells Rolling Stone magazine, "I did describe one very basic sexual technique to Britney, which I think she would have hugely benefited from. But I wasn't able to demonstrate, so it was a dismal failure."Brand also admits he was surprised by the attitude of Americans he met while travelling across the States to film a documentary.Asked about the differences between U.S. audiences and those in his native Britain, he says, "When an English journalist asks that question, they want me to go, 'American audiences are stupid'. But that is not what I've found."I made a documentary about (American novelist/poet) Jack Kerouac a year ago, and travelling across America I met people that look like slack-jawed, gap-toothed hillbillies. I thought, 'This'll be a laugh'. But when I went to talk to them, they talked about (philosopher) Noam Chomsky, the Federal Reserve, the worthlessness of the dollar - there was unbelievable awareness."A mistake that I will never make is to forget that there is a distinction between American foreign policy and the American people."Source: Showbiz Spy

The following italicized article is from www.x17online.com:Britney Spears is scheduled to appear at Los Angeles Superior Court tomorrow for hearings regarding both her astronomical legal fees as well as her driving without a license case.Last month it was determined that Spears owed nearly three quarters of a million dollars to her attorneys as well as those representing her ex-husband Kevin Federline. Spears' attorney Stacy D. Phillips is seeking $407,000 for four months worth of work on Spears' custody case, while Laura Wasser, who took over the case in June, is seeking nearly $60,000 for two months of work. Additionally, Spears previously agreed to pay $250,000 to Federline's lawyers, bringing her total legal bill to around $716,000. Any payments must be approved by the Los Angeles court commissioner, and attorneys representing Spears' and her father's interests stated last month that they intend to contest Phillips' bill. The hearing to review the legal fees has been set for 8:30 a.m. tomorrow morning.Additionally, there will be a preliminary hearing tomorrow morning for Spears' driving without a license case. Almost exactly a year ago, Spears was charged with driving without a license as well as a hit-and-run causing property damage, though the latter charge was dismissed several months ago. Two weeks ago, Spears' attorney Michael Flanagan requested that the case be dismissed, but Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James A. Steele delayed a decision on whether or not Spears would stand trial.Source: X17

The following italicized article is from www.dailymail.co.uk:They are the very picture of a happy family - perched on the kerbside they chat and laugh as they admire the latest addition to the family. But just months ago this scene would have been unimaginable. Back then Britney Spears was estranged from her mother Lynn and younger sister Jamie Lynn. But there was no hint of the horrors of the past year as the teen idol celebrated her two son's birthdays yesterday with a family reunion.Jamie-Lynn had flown in from her home in Louisiana to Los Angeles to celebrate the birthdays of Britney's sons, which are only two days apart.Sean Preston turned three on September 14 and Jayden was two on September 12. It is not clear if their father Kevin Federline, from whom Britney is divorced, was present at the party.
Looking at the family portrait it seems incredible to think that in June last year the 26-year-old served her mother with a restraining order to stop her having any contact with her grandsons. Then in January, in an image that shocked her fans, she was pictured sobbing uncontrollably on a kerb at the side of the road with only her puppy for comfort.Britney then suffered a very public meltdown, shaving her head and losing custody of her sons to her ex-husband in February. Her increasingly erratic behaviour led to her being taken into psychiatric care under a mental health order. A judge made her parents her guardians, giving them control of her money to stop her being taken advantage of by hangers on.Since emerging from the mental health unit in the spring Britney has remained at home in LA with her father Jamie, getting her life back together.Having been virtually estranged from her parents, Britney is now described as being 'incredibly close' to them again. This represents a major turnaround, since at the height of her troubles Britney publicly blamed her woes on her father. Now, Jamie says: 'We've grown a lot. I've been able to come back into my daughter's life, and that was an adjustment anyway, because I'm an alcoholic and it's the first time we've really been able to share. 'It's wonderful. It's new for both of us. She sometimes calls me 50 times a day and asks me things that light my life up. But, like all daughters, she is very cunning. So she gets what she wants a lot.'And Britney, who found out about her then 16-year-old sister's pregnancy from a paparazzi, is once again close to Jamie Lynn. After months of not speaking the pop star attended her sister's baby shower, marking the beginning of a new relationship for the two.Source: Daily Mail

Kevin Jonas told Usmagazine.com at Sunday's City of Hope benefit concert in Universal City, Calif. "It is an honor and privilege to meet Britney Spears, of course. She looked great." Added Joe Jonas, "We didn't want to become a 'Hi, Britney Spears, nice to meet you' and take a picture [type-of-thing]."I said, 'We have always loved your music,' and I told her she was the first CD I have ever bought," he went on."She was like, 'Wow! Thank you,'" Joe told Us. "She asked us how Big Rob [her famous old bodyguard] and Felicia [Culotta, Spears' former longtime personal assistant] were doing."The boys told Us they're about to begin production on their upcoming Disney Channel original series, J*O*N*A*S. Among the other contributors are Dr. Luke, who wrote and produced the title cut, Danja, Guy Sigsworth, Max Martin and Bloodshy & Avant. The album's release coincides with Spears' 27th birthday.Last month, Spears told OK Magazine of the new album, "I think it is more urban," adding that she'd been writing everyday on a piano in her living room."Circus" is the follow-up to last year's "Blackout," which has sold 894,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The following italicized article is from www.abcnews.com:Britney Spears' second comeback is in full swing: She's due to release a new album in December, on her 27th birthday."Circus" is set for release Dec. 2, a little over a year after she released last November's "Blackout," which was perhaps her most critically acclaimed CD, but came during her infamous year of erratic behavior, rehab, custody battles and at least one hospitalization. She barely promoted it, and the album — though it was certified platinum — was one of her least successful. But these days, Spears has been in the spotlight for all the right reasons. She won three MTV Video Music Awards for her clip "Piece of Me" and appeared on the Sept. 7 awards show looking fit and stunning, a reversal of her disheveled, widely panned appearance in 2007. She also drew praise for her guest appearances on CBS' "How I Met Your Mother."Spears' life seems to have rebounded after her father, James Spears, went to court and took control of her personal and professional life as her conservator. She also resolved her custody battle with former husband Kevin Federline, with Federline retaining custody of their two young sons and Spears receiving visitation rights.Among the producers on Spears' new CD are Nate "Danja" Hills and Max Martin, who produced some of her biggest hits, including her first, "Baby One More Time." TV Squad recently spoke to co-creator Carter Bays, who also shared his insights on the new season.Bays reveals, “the first scene takes place immediately after where we left off and then we move ahead a few months and Barney is out of the hospital because Neil (Patrick Harris) is too good a physical comedian to keep in a body cast.”Bays adds that for this season, "We sort of knew the story we wanted to tell. We kind of had to adjust the timeline of it dependent on Sarah Chalke's schedule. That was a big factor in how we tell the stories this season but we got it all worked out so it's pretty much going according to plan...we love having Sarah around so we're always trying to make it work."Also, he promises that this season of How I Met Your Mother will be filled with intriguing surprises."We've got some secrets coming up. They're some big events, and it's hard to know how much of it to reveal because we want it to be a surprise," he says. "We said we want to do more stand alone episodes and not make it so serialized this year and I think we've kept that promise although as we started writing, story lines unfold and it's kind of hard not to pick up; if something big happens one week it's hard to not pick up from that the next week and go on with the story."Catch season 4 of How I Met Your Mother as it debuts on Monday, September 22 at 8:30pm.Source: Buddy TV
