Tired of seeing Britney Spears' stringy extensions?
No worries, you won't be seeing them for much longer.
The singer, who's been in virtual hiding for the past few weeks, is set to rock a new hairstyle this weekend, courtesy of her longtime stylist and Shear Genius judge Kim Vo."We’ve been working on her for a little while," Kim tells OK!.
"What we’ve done is we’ve reversed the process of her extensions, we’re adding more of her natural hair and less extensions, so we’re letting that breathe out, her hair to grow, to where she’ll just do extensions for fun. For right now, it’s a lot of her length. It’s about six inches. It’s pretty good."
Brit's look, which she will debut at the Mirage's Love show, will feature a bright new color color as well -- a "light caramel honey gold with baby blonde highlights." The color palette was deliberate -- Kim wanted to soften up her image.
"We’re so used to her with that bright blonde, which I didn’t like, and I told her I didn’t like it," he says. "We’re actually using the flecks of her eyes—she has little golden flecks— as a guide to go through the process to enhance her eyes and even go deeper than her eyes, the flecks in her eyes and skin tone."
A new style may be the start of something good for Britney, Kim believes. Having worked with her for four years, the hairstylist has ridden all of the 26-year-old's ups and downs with her. And now it's "great" to finally see her do well again.
"When I got back her a couple of months ago, five or six months ago, it was great to see her blossom again and get back to the old Britney," he says. "She’s doing really well."
Things are definitely looking up for the Britster. Her name was submitted to the Emmy longlist for consideration in the Guest Actress in a Comedy series category for her work in How I Met Your Mother. Should the pop-tart nab a nomination, you can bet Kim will be fixing up her follicles for the red carpet.
"I think that’s where she really should shine," he says. "And I think that she should do something that reminiscent of old Britney, but kind of new and chic, maybe I do the same kind of wavy hair but pull it over to a should, low pony tail. Something’s that very different. I think people expect her to look like a caricature of herself. Just chic it up a little bit."
The new season of Shear Genius premieres June 25 at 10 p.m. on Bravo.

Britney Spears is on a roll with her motherly duties. Now it looks like she's devoting a little more time to her daughterly ones.
E! News has confirmed that the singer flew to Las Vegas on Thursday, just after visiting her kids at her home in Studio City.
Although Spears was seen at the Palms hotel, a source close to the singer tells E! that she is not there to record in the Maloof brothers' recording studio. Equally unlikely is the possibility of her rolling into town to support Kevin Federline, who's in Sin City to tend to some business of his own.
Though the exact purpose of her trip has not yet been revealed—though she is not, as rumored, in town to perform with the Pussycat Dolls—a source close to the singer said it was "not a business trip."
People, meanwhile, corroborates that the trip is indeed one of pleasure, claiming she's in town for a long Father's Day weekend with papa Jamie Spears.
One joint they may want to avoid in their would-be father-daughter bonding session: Prive Las Vegas.
None other than K-Fed himself is set to receive a Father of the Year honor at the club later tonight.
Maloof, who recently had dinner with Spears twice in L.A., says that the two are "good friends," and adds it would be fantastic to have her perform at his Vegas venue.
"I'd love to have her here at the Pearl [Theater]," says Maloof, who stopped by the premiere of The Rocker, starring Rainn Wilson, at the Cinevegas Film Festival. "It would be great."
Maloof says the idea of a Vegas concert "didn't come up" when he saw Spears in L.A. But it turns out Spears flew there Thursday for a different reason altogether.
"Britney left L.A. for Vegas for an extended Father's Day weekend with her dad [Jamie]," a source tells PEOPLE. Despite reports that Spears' cameo in the upcoming Pussycat Dolls video was cut, Britney is still plugging away at her other projects: She's scheduled to work on songs with Sean Garrett in three weeks.
Meanwhile Spears's ex, Kevin Federline, is also headed to Sin City on Friday for Father's Day purposes: K-Fed will be there to accept his "Father of the Year" honors from Prive Las Vegas.

Keeping up with her normal workout routine, Britney Spears, looking summery in a pink tank, pulled back hair and oversized sunglasses, exits Bally's gym on Wednesday afternoon -- and Hollywood.tv is on the scene!
Although staying mum, the pop star offers up a double wave and a smile before heading out in her white SUV.

In her upcoming memoir, Lynne Spears "will get into the dark period of Britney's life — from a mother's eyes," Curt Harding, a rep for Christian publishing company Thomas Nelson, tells Usmagazine.com.
The book — slated for a September release — will be titled Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World.
"Lynne begins by telling the story of her own family," Harding says. "She's going to go into it."
He says Lynne had been working on the book "for at least a year" but took some time off in light of Jamie Lynn's pregnancy and Britney's hospitalization.
She was like, "I can't write a book right now, I've got to take care of my family,'" Harding tells Us.
"I think people will be surprised about who Lynne is," Harding adds. "That’s what I’ve gotten from it so far. I think she’s stronger than people give her credit for."
The memoir, Harding tells Us, "will be useful for moms who will read it and say, 'I can see myself in those same shoes.'"
Last week there was a bit of hoopla over the report that Britney Spears filmed a cameo for the new Pussycat Dolls music video When I Grow Up … and now it turns out that it was much ado about nothing. We do know for sure that Britney did film scenes for the new PCD vid … in fact, Pink reader Laura’s peeps happened to be on the studio tour at Warner Bros. Studios on June 4th and caught part of the music video rehearsals:
[P]art of my family is out in LA doing the tourist thing. They went on the WB studio tour yesterday and saw Britney sitting outside a studio where she was working on a routine with the Pussy Cat Dolls.
But today, MTV News is reporting that the PCD video has been completed and Britney’s cameo was cut for the final version:
Britney Spears may have looked “hot and blond” in the cameo she filmed for the Pussycat Dolls’ new video, “When I Grow Up” — which will premiere on FNMTV Friday night — but we may never know just how hot and blond. Spears, who filmed a bit part in the video for the first single from the Dolls’ upcoming album last week in Los Angeles, was edited out of the final cut of the clip. A spokesperson for the Dolls could not be reached for comment on why Spears was not included in the video. The group’s members did not elaborate on the edit during the taping of “FNMTV” Thursday night in Los Angeles.
Extra TV has posted a short clip of the music vid HERE for viewing and also confirm that Britney didn’t make the final cut of the music video:
Reports claim that Britney Spears makes a cameo in the video, but “Extra” has seen the finished product — and we were unable to spot Ms. Brit!
Either PCD is dumb as hell for not using Brit’s cameo … OR they’re saving her for the remixed or alt. version of the vid. The song is growing on me like crazy (blame it on the “ha ha ha ha” part) and I was really looking forward to seeing Brit Brit in the vid. I hope we will get to see her cameo at some point.

In news we never thought possible, Britney Spears has been included on the official ballot for possible nominees for an Emmy Award, OK! Magazine reports. The pop star’s name was included on the list for her guest appearances on CBS’s “How I Met Your Mother.” The list, which includes 40 others actresses, will endure one round voting by Academy members before the final list is announced. Will we be hearing; “Thank you very much y’all!” from the Emmy Awards stage come September?

A spokesperson for the Dolls could not be reached for comment on why Spears was not included in the video. The group's members did not elaborate on the edit during the taping of "FNMTV" Thursday night in Los Angeles.
Spears was filmed last week driving in a car for her cameo, though an unnamed set source told US Magazine she did not interact with the group or dance while on set. "They all wave at each other as they are passing in traffic — that is it. Of course, Britney looks hot and blond. It is a very short sequence, but [Britney] had a lot of fun with it. Britney really likes the Dolls' music and when she saw them on the MTV [Movie Awards], she was totally down to do the video," the source told the magazine.
Neither Spears' nor the Dolls' spokespeople would comment on the shoot at the time and attempts to reach Spears' representatives on Thursday (June 12) about the now-shelved cameo were unsuccessful. The video was filmed just a few days after the Dolls performed the song in public for the first time at the MTV Movie Awards.
The hook-up with the Dolls was part of what has been a measured return to the spotlight for Spears after more than a year of personal and professional missteps and drama. It came on the heels of a two-episode arc on "How I Met Your Mother" that has sparked talk this week of a possible Emmy nomination.
According to several gossip sites the release of Britney's new single 'Radar' has been canceled.
Sony BMG reportedly feels that 'Blackout' is 'too associated with Britney's previous struggles' and that they 'want to close this era and move on to the next album', which is reportedly scheduled for a December 9th release.
When contacted by BTI Sony BMG were not immediatley available for response.

What was it like raising sisters BRITNEY and JAMIE LYNN SPEARS? Their mother LYNNE SPEARS will dish on the subject in a long-awaited book due out this fall, according to People.
"It's her story of what it was like being a mom and raising two very famous people. It's a memoir," a spokesman for publishing house Thomas Nelson tells the mag.
The book's release was delayed last December in the wake of Jamie Lynn's pregnancy announcement.
"Lynne never stopped working on [the book] because she wants to express her love for her children and tell their stories through a mother's eyes," the publisher's spokesman tells People, adding that the memoir might line bookstore shelves this September.

Well, anything is possible at this point! Brit's name appears along with 40 other actresses on the official ballot released by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, according to OK! Magazine. Brit's two time guest appearance as Abby on the hit CBS show, How I Met Your Mother has earned the pop princess a spot on the list. However, this is just a preliminary list released for voters, and it is later narrowed down to the pool of final nominees.
Other guest-stars who appear on the list include Mary-Kate Olsen for her guest spot on Weeds, Sarah Silverman on Monk, and Scrubs resident funny girl Sarah Chalke, who guest-starred as Brit's boss on How I Met Your Mother.
Think our girl Brit will make it to the group of final nominees?

Lynne Spears, mom of Britney and Jamie Lynn, will be releasing her personal memoirs this fall, the book’s publisher announced.
“Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World” will chronicle Lynne’s raising of her two daughters, Britney, 25, and Jamie Lynn, 16, and how she groomed her daughters into stars while coming from a low-profile Louisiana community.
“When Jamie Lynn got pregnant, it was put on hold,” a rep for publisher Thomas Nelson Inc. told People. “Lynne never stopped working on it because she wants to express her love for her children and tell their stories through a mother’s eyes.”
Based in Nashville, Tenn., Thomas Nelson Inc. also publishes Bibles, Christian fiction and nonfiction books and children’s books.
“[It] will not be a parenting book,” the rep added. “It’s [Lynne’s] story of what it was like being a mom and raising two very famous people. It’s a memoir.”
Britney Spears' latest album 'Blackout' has sold a total of 861,000 albums in the U.S. according to Nielsen SoundScan. Additionally, Spears has also sold 3.1 million digital downloads of the songs and remixes from the “Blackout” album in the U.S. alone.
On a worldwide scale 'Blackout' has sold 3,6 million copies.

Lynne Spears is back to working on her book. But don't think it's gonna be a parenting book like previously reported. It's actually gonna be a memoir, which is actually more interesting than a lame parenting book.
"When Jamie Lynn got pregnant, it was put on hold," a spokesperson for Thomas Nelson said. "Lynne never stopped working on it because she wants to express her love for her children and tell their stories through a mother's eyes." The memoir is going to be about Lynne raising two very famous daughters. It is slated for release sometime this Fall.
This sounds like it would be a great read. So much happened in the Spears family in one year that there should be enough material for a 1000 page memoir.

Now that she can end her story on a high note, Lynne Spears is ready to sing.
Britney and Jamie Lynn's mother is eyeing a September release for her upcoming memoir about raising a family in the glare of what turned into an increasingly harsh spotlight, according to Nashville-based publisher Thomas Nelson, which deals largely in inspirational books and Bibles.
Thomas Nelson announced the project in October (to originally be due on Mother's Day), but the venture was "postponed" a couple months later after Spears' then-16-year-old daughter revealed she was 12 weeks pregnant.
Not to mention 26-year-old Britney was gearing up for her first middle-of-the-night trip to the hospital.
"When Jamie Lynn got pregnant, it was put on hold,"a rep for the publisher told People. "Lynne never stopped working on it, because she wants to express her love for her children and tell their stories through a mother's eyes."
But while the publisher isn't offering any teasers as to how many details Spears is planning to divulge, at least Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World can end on a happier note.

After one all-too-brief season of Britney & Kevin: Chaotic, who would have ever thought that someday you might hear an awards presenter say, "And the Emmy goes to... Britney Spears"? Well, the pop star has come one step closer to making that into a reality with her inclusion on the ballot of possible Emmy nominees.
For her double-shot guest appearance as Abby on CBS hit How I Met Your Mother, Brit-Brit is one of 41 actresses on the official ballot released by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences to its voters. Keep in mind, this is the list that is whittled down to the final nominees for the September ceremony.
Other notable names also up for Academy consideration are Sarah Silverman for her guest shot on Monk; Mary-Kate Olsen, who won over many Weeds fans during her extended run as a pot-dealing Christian on the Showtime hit; Alyssa Milano for her role as Billie on My Name is Earl; and Scrubs star Sarah Chalke, who is on the ballot for guest-starring as Brit's boss on How I Met Your Mother.
We'll find out just how well Britney fared when the final nominees for this year's Emmys are announced later this summer.
Mel Gibson completely lost all my respect once his anti-Semetic views came to light after his DUI arrest in 2006 (at the time, I was unaware of his numerous homophobic remarks otherwise he would've lost my respect years ago) but I can appreciate that he is taking an active part in Britney's rehabilitation. While he is not someone I would want life coaching anyone I care about (or even remotely know), I'm glad that Britney Spears can, at least, get something positive from him. As I've said many times, she has been working very hard to get her life in order and I'm totally cool with her achieving that goal as best she can -- I just hope he isn't doing more harm than good ... and I'd love it if she'd kick that nasty and deadly smoking habit but, I'll take what I can get.

Britney Spears and Mel Gibson had a smokin' date Tuesday night – at an exclusive Beverly Hills cigar club.
For more than two-and-a-half hours, the singer, 26, and the actor-filmmaker, 52, met in what was confirmed to PEOPLE as a more of an ongoing guidance session than a business pow-wow.
When Spears arrived, her bodyguard drove a Jeep Commander into the underground parking garage, and she exited with her blonde hair up and pulled back by a white headband. Also with Spears were her assistant Brett and a bodyguard.
"She looked pretty in her new Capri jeans a blue blouse, white shoes and a brown bag," says a photographer. Earlier in the day, Spears was seen shopping at the Lisa Kline boutique in Beverly Hills, where she purchased the new jeans and tried on several necklaces.
"Britney looked like a doll with bright red lipstick," added the photog, who described her as "very quiet" and "with a serious look on her face as she walked in to the Havana Club."
By contrast, an upbeat Gibson left his silver Lexus with the valet and walked in holding what was described as a "man-purse" up to his face and a look of "okay, you got me" as paparazzi snapped his picture.
Around 9:30, Spears left the club for home, while Gibson hung around until about 11.
The two – once neighbors inside a Malibu enclave (Spears now lives in a gated community in Studio City) – began being seen in public together in March, at dinner in a restaurant. It was then learned that Gibson and his wife, Robin, had been looking in on Spears once she had checked out the hospital in February. In May, Gibson and his wife, and Spears and her father, all vacationed together in Costa Rica.
After some shopping, Britney headed over to Grand Havana Room in Beverly Hills to meet up with old pal Mel Gibson. Mel is tight lipped with the paps, and later there is even a near shuffle with one of Brit's security guards in the parking garage.
